Article Corruption - Kindle Fire

I have had numerous issues with a folio for the Kindle Fire and have finally narrowed down the problem to this: The first 15 articles imported into the folio work fine but the 16th article, and it does not matter which article is the 16th imported only that it is the 16th total article to be imported, corrupts. This makes my folio unpublishable.
As for specs, I am publishing to a V.20 viewer in a multi-folio viewer. Every article works if it is imported before the 16th article.
Also, this issue is only for occurs on 1024x600 folios. 1024x768 folios function fine.

Switch to WPA2 and make sure WMM support is enabled in the router's QoS tab

  • Why can't I install the flash player on my Kindle Fire???

I have tried several times to install the flash player on my Kindle Fire but it keeps telling me there is an issue opening the download. How am I able to download it yet am unable to install it. It makes no sense to me why it would be able to download yet not be able to open the installation. Is this a problem that is being fixed? I've tried to "troubleshoot" this issue myself but there is little information on it. If the Kindle Fire is unable to install the Adobe Flash player then there needs to be some changes made either on your companies part or Amazons. There are apps offered on the Kindles that need this flash player in order to operate. If you could back to me with an answer as soon as possible I would greatly aprreciate it. Thank you.

    Hi,
Although we continue to provide security and patch releases for Android devices which originally shipped with Adobe Flash Player, new feature development for the Android browser has drawn to a close as we shift our focus to Adobe AIR for mobile applications. For more details on the rationale for our decision I refer you to the following article.

Another alternative is to install the SkyFire browser, which appears to support Flash Video.

  • Transferring a DVD to the Desk top and then downloading to Kindle Fire

I want to transfer some of my DVD films to my Kindle Fire; can I do this by using the DeskTop DVD Drive first to copy to a store on the computer and then downlaodng to a Kindle, I am not technically dexterous so would like a detailed guide p[lease if it is possible.
    This question was solved.

    Hi antaustin,
General DVDs won't allow you to simply copy and paste the video files to your PC. You would need to get a video decoder that can change the file to a digital version format that Kindle recognizes. Kindle likely won't recognize the standard DVD format either. If you have DVDs that include a digital version of the movie, you can copy that to your PC and then put it on your Kindle.
I'm not sure what version of Kindle you have, but here is some help info from Amazon on transferring video files to a Kindle:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200729530
Here is a CNET article on how to make your video files compatible with Kindle: http://howto.cnet.com/2300-11310_39-10010515.html
    I hope this helps.

  • Kindle Fire 8.9

Is there any way to get a 1024 x 768 folio file look good on a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 or do I have to do a completely different resolution for it to look good? Also, is there any time period in which an Android and/or Kindle Fire will support PDF-based FOLIOs and not JPG?

A 1024x768 folio will be letterboxed on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9. You can make it look better by creating a larger rendition. See this article: http://blogs.adobe.com/indesigndocs/2012/10/creating-dps-folios-for-android-devices.html
Supporting PDF on Android devices (and in the desktop viewer) is a high priority for the DPS team.

  • Folios do not appear in Kindle Fire edition

Trying to test (side load) on the Kindle Fire currently with a multi-folio edition using DPS Pro. I have been following these instructions http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/targeting-amazon-kindle-fire.h tml
For some reason the library view on the App is blank. I cannot get the Folios to appear. Anyone have a similar problem?

    Hi Casey,
thank you very much for your help. It seems as amazon has changed the acceptance of "not working" Apps and does not publish/supress them any more. I did as you described and get back an rejection:
Your app has failed a test case.
    Bug Description: Functionality Failure
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Download, install and launch the app
    2. Blank screen appears.
    OS/Device(s)/Form Factor: 4.0.3/Samsung Tab2/Tablet.
Seems like its not possible to publish to kindle at the moment? Do you have a contact at amazon, who could maybe assist me?
    Thanks again in advance

  • My iPhone 4S won't load email messages from my local carrier. It works sometimes and then won't.  The local carrier says it is not them and to contact apple.  Been happening since got Kindle Fire. Could this be doing it?

My iphone  4S  won't load email messages from my local carrier on a regular basis.  It says cannot get mail in use on another device.  I thought everything was to sync together?  Local carrier tells me it is Apple not them.  It's been happening since I got my Kindle Fire about a month ago.  Any ideas how to make everything work together?????  Does it when kindle is off to sometimes.  Thanks.

    Hi Maquillage,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  I would recommend troubleshooting the iPhone by following the instructions in this article:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Why not Kindle Fire?

I read on CNN that a new Firefox browser is available. So I went to mozilla.com and the download link took me to Google Play... dead end :-( Fortunately there is download available for all apps Index of /pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases I downloaded the latest Firefox 14 mobile version and it works well with some nice new features. Why is it not officially available for Kindle Fire?

    Hi,
Thanks for mentioning this, I was wondering if you found the link in an article or elsewhere. The following article has a link to the FTP site with the .apk file.

  • How to install Flash Player on Kindle Fire HD

I would like to install the most advanced Flash Player version so far on my kyndle fire hd. What is the most suitable for my OS? Is there any special proviso to install it on my kindle? Thanks for advising me.
    Daniel

You need to sideload the old Flash apk file to your Kindle Fire and then sideload Dolphin browser since the default browser on the Fire doesn't support Flash. It's pretty easy. I can play Facebook games and watch Hulu.com on my Fire. This article should help: http://kindlefirelive.com/install-adobe-flash-player-onto-your-kindle-fire/

Precisely why it's not an iPad, and why it doesn't cost very much.  An Apple rep would tell you how to connect an iPad to every computer.

  • How do I add a whitelist on AirPort Utility to connect a Kindle Fire?

All of a sudden my daughter's Kindle Fire says it has no wireless connection even though I have the name and password entered correctly. Is this some type of update on the Kindle side? The Kindle tells me (when I tap on the connected wifi name for my computer) signal strength is excellent, status is connected, shows my security with a WPA and additional codes. I have been reading that there is a whitelist I can add devices too but am so illiterate on my MAC that I cannot find it or where to go...my apologies. What do I/ should I do? I am confused as to why I see the Kindle and my computer are connected to wifi but then I receive an error message. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't a whitelist, per se, on the AirPort routers. Instead there is a means to prevent a wireless device from accessing the AirPort by its hardware MAC address. Unless you have enabled this feature, via the AirPort Utility, all wireless devices should be able to connect.
One area to look at as a possible cause, is the Network Name (aka SSID) that you are using for your AirPort's Wi-Fi network. If it contains special characters or spaces, you may want to consider changing it to something that has neither to see if this helps.

Not if you mean using iTunes to sync your music to your Kindle, no. You'll need to use whatever procedure Amazon provides for transferring tracks from the iTunes folder your computer to the Kindle.
