Article submission services - anyone?

Hi Gang-
... finally throwing my hat into the blog game, but quickly
realized my blogs were more like articles (including length, video,
graphics, etc.) Was curious if anyone has suggestions on using (or
not) article submission services? I have to laugh, because after a
quick google search more than half of the supposed "expert"
submission services have numerous typos, spelling errors, etc.
right on their home pages! - hardly the places I'll trust my
content to be displayed and promoted with - let alone pay for. My
content is vertical, targeted content, and heck, I haven't even
configured my RSS feed yet! Like many of us who wear all of the
company hats, I'm trying to get it right the first time, minimize
my blunders and learn from other people's mistakes.
Nonetheless, any feedback you folks could offer me (high
level or granular details) would be greatly appreciated. I
certainly don't want to end up on any banned or black-lists as I'm
just getting started!

I agree! I guess I was thinking relatively to other blogs
that I've seen out there, where some bloggers will literally post
just a few sentences per blog entry; mine are much longer, part of
a series, etc.
Have you had any luck in finding a posting or distribution
service for your blogs? I will also have lots of video in this
content, so I was thinking about cross-posting to the youtubes of
the world, but wasn't sure if that was necessarily a good thing or
if, for some reason it was frowned upon. I've read about
tools/services that exist that will also help me cross post to some
of the social networking sites out there but have yet to discover
any that appear professional or that don't sound like scams.
Any ideas?

DB02 refresh fails with "Error has occurred in JCL submission service"

In a number of our systems, we get an error when using the refresh option of the DB02 transaction. The error states that "Error has occurred in JCL submission service; see system log". We can execute the refresh successfuly in batch using DB13.
There are no messages in the SM21 system log nor the zOS system log. We also have confimred there is no authorization issue. The CCJ WLM started task is started but then no job is actually submitted to the mainframe.
Any thoughts from anyone would be most appreciated.

I received an answer from Thomas Vogt from SAP on this issue. Here is his response.
"This is an error while testing the ability of SYSADM to access TSO.
The quickest workaround is to purge job JOB04711 in JES, this is the
jobid the test is using (in Germany 4711 is a 'random' meaningless
number derived from a german perfume brand). Of course we will fix
this error.
After purging the job will run from DB02 as well. As a test a have
modified SY-SUBRC in debugging mode, job REFRESH_DB02 is currently
running."

Mail submission service on 2007 SP3 , does not start.

I have two Exchange servers 2007 SP3 over Windows 2008 R2. One of them is a combination of the Client Access + Hub transport, and the other only holds the Mailbox role.
Whenever I start up the Mailbox server, the service "Mailbox submission service" does not run, even when it is set to be started automatically.
The two servers reach the Domain controller, they log on well, so, I suppose it is not a problem related to Active Directory.
I manually start the service and apparently it is okay, mails begin to flow normally.
I am reading issues related to Exchange 2010, about this very same service, but not regarding Exchange 2007 SP3.

The same thing happens to me. One service or another does not start when I boot the test Exchange servers. I have to manually start them. Then everything works fine.
See what Ed Crowley wrote. If you shut down your test machines during periods of non-use, this is not unexpected.
As for the service logon (System Local Account), that is indeed the correct setting:

That setting is not something that is normally changed and I don't think changing it would improve matters (it would probably break things).
If you look at the link above, you'll see that the mail submission service is dependent on the Active Directory Topology service. So if that service has not finished starting (has not finished querying Active Directory for the information it needs),
possibly because the CPU on the server is busy performing other startup operations, then it would not matter what the logon account is.
In other words, changing the logon account for the mail submission service will not make the AD Topology service start faster. And the mail submission service cannot start until the AD Topology service does.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Finally an article about the real JBI and what JBI is all about. I don't know what's going on with people's understanding of JBI.
At JavaOne, I remember one of the expert group, from Oracle I think, proudly claiming that JBI will be one of the core architectures that companies will be delivering their integration business upon. Now I wonder where Oracle's, SAP's and IONA's contributions are so far. Oracle for example really contributed to JSR 208 by marketing and implementing SCA.
Although in early stages, I think open source implementations are missing the point as well. Using open source implementation X, I couldn't see a scenario that shows the power of the concept, while implementation Y just did not like service units, service connections and link types, then tried to invent its own configuration and routing descriptors, wasting very valuable time.
Anyway, may be one just have to wait and see!!

Adobe e-mail service - anyone able to send photos to Facebook?

Facebook allows photos to be uploaded via a email address. None of the photos I send using Adobe E-Mail Service appear to arrive in Facebook. I am able to use the Adobe E-Mail client to send to other addresses without any problems and I can use other email clients to send to the Facebook address without any problems. Has anyone been able to get this to work for them?

Try sending the photos to your other email accounts(google, yahoo etc) and see if you get the email. This way we can figure out the cause of the issue.

Time Machine Service, anyone using?

I'm a newb with this server, and just setting up a pair of new mac mini servers. I set one with Time Machine Service on, but some of my macs can't see it, or sometimes it can, but then can't. I also have one that is counting up like 3.78 GB of 3.78 GB --> 3.79 GB of 3.79GB with the progress bar at 100%. That's odd
Perhaps I've misconfigured something, or need Time Capsule ? Or is this just something that's not used (I never heard of it before, but it sure sounds like a great idea!)

Time Machine and download CarbonCopyCloner (freeware) and make a full bootable clone of your HardDrive. Should be sufficient.

Hyperion CSS (Common Security Services) - Anyone?

Is anyone using Common Security Services as an External Authentication module with Essbase? I am looking for some information on how the XML page is setup and details on the other side of the authentication (not just the Essbase side). I would also like to know if anyone has used Siteminder as an external authenticator.

Occupational Health: Edit Overview of Medical Services - Anyone using?

Hi there,
i am working on an OH implementation, and when running the EHSSERV - Edit Overview of Medical Services transaction, it populates with every medical service that was created in the system. After it populates, then you can select a filter vaule. Has anyone used this transaction for a period of time? Have you experienced long run times or performance issues when running this transaction before you are allowed to set filter values?

once u open t code EHSSERV, yes all meical services will be shown, yes u can hav a filetr on it, also it is possible to filter all medical services in current week, current month, last month, current year, all,
after setting up filter on basis of ates and status of medical service, program runs, run time depends on no of medical services and filter crieteria, but even if u hav too many medical services, then also it should not take much time, plz consult ur system administartor,
i hav used this many times, it shud not be a problem, if u hav any issues then plz do let me know

Hi, Firefox on my desktop keeps crashing at just random moments. Sometimes not very often at all, but other times it can happen a few times within an hour.
My Desktop Window Manager also crashes regularly and the dialogue box always pops up saying its stopped working. However, this doesn't seem to effect anything.
It could be realated though, as I just had this desktop built a few weeks ago and a few times it's crashed as well as programs.
If anyone can help me fix this issue with Firefox, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I updated the Flash plugin, but I still keep getting crashes.
I will try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player as you recommended and hopefully this will work.

TERRIBLE customer service - Anyone else in this sinking boat?

Ordered laptop 6/1 with a 6/7 estimated shipment. 6/9 email says it is delayed. Multiple phone calls 3 days in a row to customer support, ALL saying it will ship that day or the next (though the web says 6/24) . Finally get someone today who says it is now 6/25 (still 6/24 on web) and get a manager who will "call me back today" with official status if I can get the product before I leave the country for work. Still no call at 5pm...
HORRIBLE experience. Lies up and down, constant runaround, just saying what they think I want to hear. ZERO respect for this organization's customer service. On the verge of cancelling the order because a 1 month wait for a product I could have off of newegg.com in 3 days doesn't seem worth it.

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Submission service terminated unexpectedly

Hi, I get following error on my new Exchange 2013 server:
It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
Mailbox database is mounted and contains mailboxes (also system mailbox), ipv6 is enabled on the exchange server.
Is there any logging I can find to see what's going on actually? The transport service won't start either.

Exchange 2010 Mail Submission Service Logging

Is there a way to log all submitted messages from outlook clients (online mode) so I can see what is happening to messages that are getting stuck in the Outbox from the server's perspective?

add key="LoggingTag" value="ConnectDisconnect, Logon, Failures, ApplicationData, Warnings, Throttling" />.
You can also add ROP logging, which are the individual Outlook commands sent, by adding the tag to the above line.
This gets *VERY* busy. *VERY* quickly, so maybe try this out on a test box first to see what that gives you.
