Artifacts in openbox lxde desktop pager plugin

I have installed Arch and lxde with its default wm. on the tray there is a desktop pager panel that allows you to switch between workplaces. However I find quite often there is some form of graphical glitch there that resolves itself if i switch desktops. is this a known problem with a known fix, is it likely not something i can fix or is it something you guys can suggest ideas for fixing? If you need more info let me know what you need. the graphics is integrated intel graphics 4000

It's not uncommon to have artifacts on intel graphics using the default SNA acceleration.

Can I create a Desktop page on the wiki ?

Hi there,
I was using Arch since 1 or 2 weeks now, and I am still in the 'tune the system to get a working desktop' phase.
On the way, I took extensive notes about everything I installed and set-up.
So I was thinking about creating a wiki page (that could be named something like : "Desktop Arch : Zero2Heaven") that list every step to get a working desktop configuration.
The idea is to provide a guide to set up a workstation easily for a non-guru arch new user like me.
Before doing anything, I just wanted to be sure creating this kind of page isn't against some wiki protocol (I don't think so but better safe than sorry ).

That's why OP's personal preferences should go to his user page and not as a regular article.
I've seen wiki user pages that listed some configs that their authors found useful, nothing wrong with that.
I think there is something missing in the documentation / wiki : How to mount 'quickly' a usable desktop configuration.

PS : I was going for LXDE + java + audio/video codex + usb auto-mounting + some fonts...
Of course I don't pretend this is THE ultimate desktop experience (everyone has his own preferences).
But at least by following the guide I was thinking about, someone can have a -fast- usable desktop in 10 / 15 min.

Openbox / Lxde with twinview

As a long time Xfce user i decided to give Openbox (standalone and w/ Lxde) a try. First impression is pretty good, although it seems to have trouble detecting my twinview layout, addressing it as a single big desktop instead (i know it's supposed to be a big desktop, but panels and stuff should adhere to monitor boundaries ofcourse). I don't know if this is an xrandr thing which Xfce somehow circumvents, but are there any fixes for this on Openbox/Lxde?
I don't want to use separate X screens.

the issue is the library that lxpanel uses to address window locations, it doesn't see the separate "screen areas" that twinview presents to X
i don't know what lxpanel uses, but i do know that libnetk (what xfce-panel 2.2 and below use) doesn't detect twinview regions properly. the xfce team are switching to libwnck for xfce 2.4. wnck is the library that gnome-panel uses, and detects twinview regions properly, so at least we'll have two working twinview panels soon
of course, this all has to do with the obfuscated output the nvidia binary driver passes, and could be improved upon if nvidia would open their drivers, but that's another story (me? bitter? never )

Lxde-rc.xml ignored. openbox-lxde is using rc.xml

Hello, guys.
I love openbox keybindings and i am currently using OB in LXDE, but somehow my lxde.rc.xml is being ignored.
I copied ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml to the same directory under the name rc.xml and LXDE works ok like that.
The thing is that if i use Gnome desktop and replace metacity with openbox, i want this openbox to use the regular rc.xml so that I can have different keybindings in Gnome and in LXDE, but my openbox-lxde is reading rc.xml everytime.
I have gone through the scripts and checked file permissions and havent found what the problem is. Any idea??
I was thinking maybe a bad constructed XML file my lxde-rc.xml but I havent got any error in .xsession-errors. BTW, is there something for checking if a xml file is well constructed?

The location/line of where I imported was correct, as was the code being imported. The problem was my method for importing, which for some reason did not work. However XInclude, which Trilby suggested, did work.
Thanks everyone, problem solved. This will make synchronizing keybinding between systems a lot easier.
EDIT:
Stumbled upon another problem. I added another keybinding, basically copied the previous one and changed it a bit. And now it cries foul when I reconfigure openbox, throwing a syntax error at me. Weird thing is either keybinding works as long as it is the only keybinding in the imported file.

Skillbuilders modal page plugin

Hi!
Is it possible to implement modal inside another modal? I am using Skillbuilders modal page plugin 2.0, APEX 4.0.2. version.
If it is, can someone explain how in short notes...
I have a form in modal, which would have a create button to open another form in modal, pass values there and submit, and then go back to parent modal. I tried to implement it and it not works
By the way, I use APEX 4.2 at home and plugin is working great on all themes that I tried. But now, on other computer I am using 4.0.2 APEX and with theme 16 I have some problems with size. E.g. the form width is big. I tried everything... Also tried fixed modal size. Looks good, but the problem is when error message appears then it is not resized automatically and you cannot see whole content. Maybe someone have solution for this... I will put it online when I get.

This is not currently possible, but it's on the list of enhancements. Hopefully it will not be too difficult.
Regarding older versions of APEX, I've had those issues too. There's an older version of the plug-in, use jQuery Dialog over Colorbox, that works better. If you email me directly I'll send you a copy of the older version.

Skillbuilders modal page plugin query

Hi Guys,
I have downloaded the Skillbuilders modal page plugin and it works very well for 99% of the scenarios that we have encountered.
We have one page which needs a slight modification from the standard functionality with regards the modal plug in..
We have a tabular form which has a field into which we have created our own button (which is used as a link to page 6) with the following syntax:
*<input id="modal" type="button" value="comps" onclick="javascript:redirect('f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.::NO::P6_JOB_RESP_ID,P6_RESPONSIBILITY_ID:#Comps#,#Responsibility#')" />*
which calls another page within the application and passes in the #Comps# and #Responsibility# values from the current row in the tabular form.
What I am trying to do is to use the modal page plugin within this tabular form functionality so that the new page (page 6) appears as a modal page.
The part that is confusing me is how to pass the #Comps# and #Responsibility# values in the tabular form into the plug in as parameters so that the new page appears modal.
If anyone else has experience using this plugin, any advice would be great.

Hi Jieri,
The problem is how you are generating the link. You're using substitution string syntax in the link to refer to an item's value. This will work only on page load. You need something more dynamic.
For some reason I was able to log in yesterday but I was short on time. Today I tried and the login failed. Try to do this on your own...
1. Create a hidden item on the page (not protected).
2. Reconfigure the dynamic action to respond to the click event on that hidden item.
3. Reconfigure the plug-in to grab the link using an attribute of the triggering element. The attribute can be something like "data-href".
4. Reconfigure the button to so that clicking the button executes some JavaScript that does two things:
a) Sets the data-href attribute of the hidden element to the correct value for the link
b) Triggers the click event on the hidden element

Skillbuilders modal page plugin problems in Apex 4.1

Hi,
I have applied the Skillbuilders modal page plugin in my application. Everything works fine except that when I close the popup window - my parent window is not getting refreshed.
I have put the dynamic action - Auto Close modal and action as - Refresh report on parent page.
Settings:
Event : Auto Close [Skill Builders Modal Page]
Selection Type : DOM Object
DOM Object: document
No condition
Any help much appreciated.

I have the same problem, the main report is not refreshing after adding or editing values and the success message is not showing after the DA taking place and closing the modal.

I can't type anything. Typewriter comes up for a second and phone shuts what I was on and goes to main desktop page.

Today, I cannot type anything. In notes, reminders, email, safari, facebook, every time I go to put the curser on a spot to type, or try to add another note, the phone jumps out of the file I am in and goes to the main desktop page. It worked around 7 PM when I was checking something online while I was out, but when I was back home and tried to update one of the notes I update daily (I am keeping a log), this started happening. It won't go to the typewriter keys (it flashes them for a second and then everything disappears and I am at home page again. When I clicked the bottom middle button, a black screen with the white apple appeared but my icon page came back when I pressed it again. I shut down and immediately opened again, thinking a reboot would help but it didn't. I have it shut down for the night and tomorrow if same problem I will call Verizon. Wednesday, I tried to check my calendar to see what day was best to schedule something, and none of the entries were there... not even the birthdays. I use iPhone calendar as my main calendar and have all my appointments stored there. That did come back about an hour later when I went to add an appointment.
I am hoping this new problem fixes itself with an overnight shutdown and morning reboot. Wish me luck.

This is a pretty bizarre situation, Grandma_Patches. I would suggest backing up your phone to iTunes, completing a restore of your device and then the update. I'm confident that this will address and resolve your concerns. Keep me posted.

Lost all my google desktop page and email access...again after using Trend Micro System Tuner

I ran Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2013 System Tuner and lost all the info, gadgets, etc. and even my email (Gmail) access. I was left with a black, blank page. I opened up Google Chrome and everything is still in place. This happened 3 days ago. So, yesterday I ran the system tuner again again as per my own comments from last year....had sorted it out by doing it. Still nothing. This morning.....I opened Firefox (21) and surprisingly had my main desktop page but still without my email. When I tried to open the email on it's own I still got nothing....the computer seemed to try to open it, but got "stuck" and the "loading" bar that goes from left to right never appeared. I could switch to the "slower" HTML version and the mail came up but prefer standard version. Checking on Google Chrome, everything is working just fine. I believe the Firefox Version 21 had only just been updated? Perhaps that is at the core. I really prefer Firefox but will have to continue with Google Chrome until this problem perhaps sorts itself out. Since it is loading properly on Google Chrome I don't want to set everything up again. Any suggestions?

You should go into the Control Panel / Sound to assure that you sound device is selected as the Default. This can get changed for no apparent reason when changes are made to the computer's software.

Skillbuilders Modal Page Plugin - Help in setting Modal window height/width

Hello Apex Experts,
I have downloaded the Skillbuilders Modal Page Plugin. I have tried to implement the same but my modal window is not showing correctly. I can see all the fields and scroll bar. I also tried to set the initial height/width settings but no luck.
Can anyone help me?

FYI: I'm using Apex v4.2 on Google Chrome.

Go into the setting in the Shared Components for the plug-in and change the theme from custom to a number (1-5). Also, make sure to read this:

Problems with Apex4.2, SkillBuilders Modal Page plugin, IE9 and HTML5 theme

Hello everyone.
Please Help.
Again problems with Apex4.2, SkillBuilders Modal Page plugin, IE9 and HTML5 theme (Blue Respensive).
1. The problem is that all the popup windows display 100% of the width
2. After opens a popup window change the width of the parent window forms.
This happens only in IE9 browser.
In other browsers, the popup window only much larger than the form that is opened.
I can not change the size of the window.

I changed the component level settings to use a fixed height and width (I adjusted edit, you still need to adjust create). You can try adjusting this some because the modal page should adjust a bit.
Then I added this CSS to the Inline CSS of the modal page:
section.uMessageRegion{position: static; !important;}
