Artist name not showing properly on phone after sync

Certain artists that style their name in a certain way ("MaHi" for example) refuse to properly display this styling on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2. I recently purchased some of MaHi's songs through iTunes and I suspect this to be the problem as none of my "non-iTunes" music have this problem. In iTunes on my desktop, the name is displayed properly as "MaHi" with the capital H. However, no matter what I do it seems, my phone and iOS refuse to to display the artist's name with the proper capitals. Every single time it reverts to "Mahi" which is incorrect. I have converted the purchased music to MP3s, stripped the tags, and reimported the songs and yet still have this issue. This leads me to believe it's some stupid thing going on with some kind of syncing up to the iTunes Store and pulling the artist name because it's incorrect on the artist's store page as well. Does anyone have a potential workaround for this or even a fix?

Hello Teri928
What do the purchases look like when you try to download your previous purchase on your iPhone? Check out the article below for the steps on how to do that.

  • Songs not showing up on phone after syncing

I am trying to sync some songs onto my phone, and I have put them into a playlist, all of the songs are checked off and whenever I have tried to sync the songs onto my iPhone they don't show up, and whenever I go back to the playlist on my computer the playlist is blank I have no idea how to fix this

Try using Restore on the iPod shuffle's iTunes pane. If that does fix the problem, use the iPod Reset Utility, which is not the same as Restore in iTunes.

some songs (usually one or two) either play a half-sec, or the song just isn't there...
Do a Get Info on those songs in iTunes to see if there is anything in common about the music files.

    Hi asims01,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The information below may be able to answer your questions about how to delete songs from your iPhone:
Deleting songs downloaded to your device
    Tap the Music app.
Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.
Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.
Also, this information can be found on page 64 of the iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
If you have iOS 7, this will delete the song from local storage, but the song will still appear with a cloud symbol in the Music app, as you've noticed. To hide the iTunes in the Cloud purchases, navigate to Settings > iTunes & App Store, and disable "Show All: Music”
There may be a few orphaned songs on your iPhone that were partially downloaded or corrupted in some way. If that is the case, you can erase all of the music from your phone.  Follow the instructions below and select the Music app under Usage:
iPhone, iPad, and iPod: Understanding capacity

I hope this information helps ....

So, your iPhone (and new shuffle) still work properly with iTunes, correct?
Your 1st gen shuffle... It's the white one with USB plug, that looks like a USB flash drive...?
Are you able to see it in Windows, and maybe change the drive letter back to E:?

  • Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I can not find an album for photos before 2012.

Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone5 after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I cannot find an album or year for photos before 2012 (in the photo app). The iphone says the photo content is there when I check in "about" under general in settings. So the pictures seem to be somewhere but I just can't access from from the photo app. Any suggestions. I also know that they were there before the iOS7 upgrade as I was looking for a pre 2012 picture last week and it we there.

  • Artist name not showing up in itunes

I just imported an album and the artist names didn't appear in itunes. So, I selected all the songs and added the artist names in the Get Info window. They still don't show in the list on itunes, but they do now show in the info windows of individual songs. Ideas? Here is how the artist names are listed: Frances Clark, Louise Goss, Sam Holland
    Thanks in advance!
    Susanne

    Susan,
    Try this:
    1. Select all of your songs, (click the first song then hold down shift and click the last song).
    2. Once that is done right click the highlighted songs and click get info.
    3. A message will pop up asking if you want to change info for multiple songs select yes.
    4. Once your in this get info screen go to the album artist field and type in all of the artists in that field (make sure you put them in the order you want to see them listed in the itunes libary).
    5. When your finished select ok and you're done!
(NOTE: *an easy way to see the album artist is by going to the top of the itunes window and you should see three buttons with the word view under them and select the middle button, now you can view all of your albums songs & artwork under the artwork should be the artists name(s).)
    Hope this helps,

  • Width of my site does not show properly on phones

If you visit www.emilseres.com from a cellphone (let's say iPhone), why doesn't the width of the site show properly? On your right there will be a white stripe.
What do I have to change in Muse? (I do not want to create a seperate phone design.)
Other improvements would also be appreciated
    Thank you for your time.
    Kind regards,
    Nephor

    Hi Nephor
Please check if there is any empty text frame or rectangle placed on right side of the page as it will cause the page to stretch thus space will appear.

  • HT1391 Voice memos not showing up in iTunes after syncing.

In reading posts on various sites, this seems to be an ongoing problem - particularly with the iPhone 4s.  I have read every possible post about this issue; but have not come across any resolution yet.  I also tried the "fix" offered by Apple support...dragging the library file onto the desktop, then looking for the previous library folder to "re-date" the file since updating the iTunes software; but there was no folder with that name on my hard drive.  My memos are all on my new phone - thanks to the backup from the old phone...however iTunes still does not sync properly - as audio memos do not show up.  Now I'm wondering if the backup contains the memos, since the "sync" shows nothing.  P.S.  I'm using Vista.  My 3gs on the X.P. machine worked fine.  If someone at Apple could fix this problem, it would be great.  Thanks.

I have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. There doesn't seem to be a size limit because my 46min voice memo (20MB in size) transferred instantly. http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip
Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect.

  • Songs purchased on iPhone through iTunes Store will not show up on iPhone after syncing with iTunes

I recently purchased iTunes Match (about a month ago).  Since purchasing Match, any songs that I have bought on my iPhone 4S (32GB, Sprint) through the iTunes Store app will not sync back to my iPhone after syncing with iTunes on my computer.  I have iOS 7.1.2 and iTunes 11.3.0.54.  The only way I can get them to show back up in my iPhone music library so I can play them is by re-downloading the songs through the iTunes Store app.  Which is super annoying because now it is about 10 songs that keep doing this, and they are in multiple playlists.  Is anyone else having this problem and have you found any fixes?  Really regretting purchasing the iTunes Match (which is not enabled on my iPhone, just on my computer).

How to create custom ringtones ...
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
    3. Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus may be a good place to start.
    4. Write down the start and stop times of the clip.
    5. Right-click the song and select "Get Info."
    6. Click the "Options" tab.
    7. Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.
    8. Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 30 seconds long.
    9. Click "OK."
    10. Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC." Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
    11. Right-click the ringtone and select "Delete."
    12. Click on the "Keep Files" button.
    13. Find the file. It's usually in your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the band's name. It will have an extension of m4a.
    14. Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.
    15. Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.
    16. Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
    17. Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
Oh, also to change a file extension. (not sure on Mac), but in Windows you need to go to "control panel" select "folder options". You need to uncheck the box "hide file extension for known file types". This will allow you to view and change the files extensions.
    Hope this is useful ...

  • Nike+ workout tracks not showing up on iPhone after sync

I have a bunch of the "workout" mixes you can get from iTunes (Increase Your Speed, Treadmill, etc), and with each of those sets, one track is a continuous mix of all of the songs. That one track is what I want to sync with my iPhone.
According to iTunes, the track is on the iPhone. When I click the little triangle next to the iPhone icon in iTunes, I see that the track is on the iPhone, but when I try and find it on the iPhone, it's not there. I have tried creating a playlist and also searching for it by name.
Any ideas why those track are not showing up? Thanks!

I was having the same issue too. I was hoping that apple will address this issue with a SW update or at least someone from apple would be kind enough to answer this thread.
After researching for a couple days I found a solution. It's not the most efficient, but it works. You'll need a CD-R or CD-RW with this method. The trick is you need to convert m4p file format to mpa or mp3 file format.
You can follow the following steps:
    1. Open iTunes
    2. Create a New Playlist: File -> New Playlist
    3. Drag the song(s) to the playlist you just created. Note: Depending on the file size you might only be able to burn just 1 song at a time
    4. Insert a Blank CD to your disk drive.
    5. Right click on the playlist then click "Burn Playlist to Disk." Then click burn. Make sure the Disc format is set to Audio CD.
    6. Once the disc is finished, click on the CD in the device section in iTunes. Right click the song and click "Create AAC Version." This will create a .mpa file into your iTunes.
    7. Copy that file to your iPhone and you're golden
Hope this helps guys. I know it's not the most elegant solution, but it works and now you can workout with those tunes. I know I've been quite frustrated because my tracks didn't show up, hopefully the new SW update will fix this.
I would appreciate any apple genius' solution that is more efficient as well.
    Cheers

  • Iphone apps not showing up on Mac after Sync

I've synced, but there are apps on my phone that are not showing up on the Mac. When I go to Itunes, the check box for "Sync Apps" is NOT checked. When I check it however, it warns me that all apps on my phone (and their respective data) will be erased and replaced with ones on the Mac. I don't want to lose all the new apps and data for said apps. I just want to get my new apps over to the computer.
    Any help?
    Thanks

Once I add the new apps to my Mac
An important piece of info there that you neglected to mention in your initial post. Have you never synced with this computer before?

  • Menu display names not showing properly in CS applications.

In an effort to greatly reduce the burden on our catalog production staff, I am attempting to tweak an existing font whose bullet character is too large (so that they don't have to manually reduce the size of every bullet). I have successfully done this using Fontagrapher 4.7, however, I can't seem to get the name of the font to display properly in the font menu of Adobe products.
Specifically, this is a font with many different weights, and those weights are indicated by a number in front of the name (e.g., 47 Light Condensed). In Quark Xpress, the name properly displays with my new font family name (a variation on the original) and the correct weight/style name. However, the adobe products identify the font by the generic weight named assigned by Fontographer (e.g., LightCn). This is also the same naming that appears in Suitcase for BOTH fonts, the original and my modified version. I'd like the name to display the number and full weight/style name as that's what the production staff is used to.
I'm using Fontographer 4.7, outputting Type 1 fonts to an exclusively Mac environment. I'm not sure if this has to do with the way that Adobe products display the names. Any suggestions and information would help.

I just hit this problem as well, earlier this week when my MacBook keyboard stopped responding, so I expected it had something to do with a problem with the hardware or software on my laptop.
Now that I'm doing some diagnostics on the drive and the hardware, I am NOT finding any kind of specific problem that would be causing icons to stop showing in the Dock. As others have clarified, this problem is NOT that icons show up as "not allowed" with the circle-strikethrough icon, but that the application does not appear *at all* - the spot below the icon indicating that the application is running appears, but the application icon will not display. I have had this issue with both applications that are running and applications that have been quit, and either state change can cause the icons to disappear, but I can't find a way to reliably reproduce the issue. Icons just appear or disappear seemingly at random.
Once the surface scan is complete on the drive I've been using as my main boot drive, I'll try the "move-app-from-Apps-folder, then-back-again" trick to see if it gets the icons to appear again.

  • CONTACT NAMES NOT DISPLAYING & TIME FORMAT CHANGING AFTER SYNC

i live in kuwait and i was just gifted an officially unlocked 3g iphone from new zealand. i upgraded to 2.1. i have 2 problems
    1. i have synced my contacts from address book. the format that it is stored in is +965XXXXXX. 965 is the country code for kuwait and all numbers in kuwait are of 7 digits. there is no area code as this is a small country. when someone calls me their name does not appear. only the number appears
    2. i have set the time format on the iphone to the 24 hour format but every time i sync with my macbook the time format changes to 12 hour format.

Follow this procedure to get your contacts back (I assume they are on your Mac/PC):
    1. Go to Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    2. Select your account which has the contacts you wish to sync
    3. Turn syncing for Contacts to "Off". This will bring up a box telling you your iPhone is turning off Contacts. My iPhone actually hung at this stage, so after several minutes, I performed a hard restart (holding down Home and power buttons for 5 sec.)
    4. Exit from Settings
    5. Go to Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    6. Select your account which has the contacts you wish to sync
    7. Turn syncing for Contacts to "On". This should restore your contacts
    8. Go to Contacts to verify. They initially may not appear or just show up as numbers for a second or two, but then your contacts should appear.
