'Artist Photos' iTunes on iPhone

Is there any way to stop the apple selected 'artist photos' being used on itunes on the iphone (i.e. when you are searching etc by group). This is a grade A naff idea. Why not just show one of the album covers? Basically it makes it much harder to just scan through and select the artist you want - I know the album covers, which are usually pretty distinctive. Most of the group shots basically look identical, which makes them basically worthless.
Idealy something that doesn't require resetting the phone...
Also - if I select an album via the group category, and then try to play songs on that album randomly, it plays all of the group's songs randomly...the only way to play just one album randomly is to go and find that album in the album listing menu. Again, is this by design?

If you cannot see the Photos tab after connecting your phone and selecting it in iTunes, it is usually because the tab is off the side of the screen due to resolution or size issues. There may be a scroll bar at the bottom that will allow you to get to it.

Hello, I have tagged an album in Uppercase the name of the artist for the first letter and lowercase the other letters like all my music. For example, 21 of Adele. The question is that if I import to iTunes, it displays correctly, exactly "Adele" like the tag. If I sync my music via itunes directly to iPhone or via iTunes Match, it displays "ADELE". Why??? That ocurrs only with this album. It seems that Apple has Adele like ADELE and it's impossible to rename different.
I have checked that if I add a blank space after "Adele" and converts to "Adele ", once I sync the music app shows "Adele ".
What can I do??
Thanks!!I am currently dealing with a similar problem but the other way around from yours. My example is all my music by Linkin Park. I have always had it stylized as Linkin Park but notice that iTunes has is as LINKIN PARK, similar to ADELE. I actually want it to be LINKIN PARK so have changed the metadata. On iTunes it all reads as I want it but on my iPhone it is still Linkin Park. I have also tried the space afterwards, which does change it on my iPhone, but like yourself I don't think that this should be necessary.
At least I guess this rules out your It seems that Apple has Adele like ADELE and it's impossible to rename different theory.

When I went to download some pics (originally taken with my iphone 4S) from my computer back to my iPhone I got the following error message: "iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone "Peter's iPhone". Do you want to keep or remove photos previosly synced to your iPhone?"
Coincidentally, my wife just purchased an iPhone 4S and syncs to iTunes on the same computer.
Any ideas?
PeterThe "best" way to handle it, if you want to keep everything separate, is to create separate user accounts on the computer. make sure you log into your account on the computer before you attempt to sync your phone and log out when you're done using the computer.
Though it's possible to sync both of them to the same iTunes library, and even share an account for the iTunes store, you're inviting confusion and possible data loss (as you've discovered already). Best to just use separate user accounts on the computer. That also gives you the benefit of not polluting the other persons browser favorites, contacts, etc. -
Not only that but now that photo stream is turned on, it shows 3 photo stream albums, 1 called my photo stream that i made from my cpu,1 photo library, and 1 called photo stream. when i turn it off, it just deletes the photo stream album and leaves the others. what do i need to do to do this right? i just want what's necessary and to be able to view my photos on itunes or wherever it's suppose to be because i have way too many photos on my phone that i want to take off.
Photostream will only work with photos newly taken on your iPhone. It will not work with photos already on your iPhone. The idea of Photostream is to allow you to take a photo(s) on your iPhone and a copy will be extended to the Photostream album on the iphone as well as other devices(with Photostream turned on) and your PC (with icloud control panel installed and photostream turned on) so that you can copy those files into your local folder.
If you want to transfer old photos from your iPhone, connect it to your PC and there will be an AUTOPLAY popup window for you to select to import pictures to your local folder.
If the Autoplay window dose not showup, you can go to windows explorer to look for your iPhone and right click to select import pictures: -

i just bought a new Iphone 5s, and decided to download Itunes and sync my Iphone with my laptop. Everyting went well until i decided to try out some things and i imported pictures via Itunes from laptop to Iphone. this is how i did it: Itunes - iphone - pictures - pictures synchronized from 'option choose map' - I chose another map - after, i 'ticked' box 'all maps'. Then i hit the button 'synchronize'. I forgot to look how the orignal map was called and this was the one Itunes syncronised autmatically with, that one also contaned all the original pictures on my Iphone. So, after putting some new photo's on my Iphone, i wanted to change the settings back to normal so my Itunes and Iphone could sync iphone pictures again. But I can't find the old map back or Itunes doesn't recognize the map. I already tried to use the map 'Ipod Photo Cache' but it shows only empty folders. I also tried computer - iphone - Internal storage or DCIM or 860OKMZO; No idea what that means but i thought that the last two folders can contain pictures. However, i get an error if select these ones a map in Itunes. How do I get back to the old settings again?

For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS. I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer. iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups. It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me". Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do? Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!
Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. And I payed for the product ready to use, but not a halfproduct which problems should further be solved somehow by users.. -
I have deleted all my videos songs and photos from my iphone 4 but when i connect to itunes it still shows 17gb free. how can I solve this issue without restore. Total storage of my iphone is 32 gb.
I don't see an issue, but if you mean why didn't you get most of your memory back you need to see what else is using storage. Go to Settings/General/Usage. Wait a bit for it to calculate storage allocation, then when it finishes you can see how much storage each app uses.

You don't need iTunes for that. Simply connect the iPhone to the PC where it will be recognized as a camera. You can then select the photos you wish to transfer, transfer them, and delete them.

I keep getting the following message when syncing my phone: iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone. I just recently updated my iPhone 5s to the latest iOS version and iTunes is the latest version as well. Has anyone else had the same problem?
Problem seems to be resolved. Photos are now syncing.

The iPhone iOS 4 User Guide sees to indicate that the SYNCH function is all one way from computer to iPhone, unless it is for purchased items in iStore on the iPhone.

thanks for the "TouchCopy" software link. I have downloaded a demo copy and it will resolve my transfer of music from iPhone to the new computer. I can then delete any unwanted music on the new computer, then re-synch the updated music to iPhone.
I am not sure about the photos. On my iPhone, there are two photo "albums" - one called "camera roll" and the other called "photo library." TouchCopy finds the pictures in the "camera roll" DCIM folder, and I can copy them to the new computer etc.
However, TouchCopy does not seem to find the "Photo Library" folder. Any clues? -
I want to take the photos off my iPhone and put them directly onto an external hard disk - I don't have any room left on my computer. I want to bypass iPhoto altogether. When I link my iPhone to my computer, it only opens in iTunes, which only gives me the option to save my photos to iPhoto. Help! This is seriously frustrating!.
Additionally, I'd like to be able to take the 2000+ photos out of iPhoto and put them on a disk in a folder. I have managed to export them to the hard disk but it's just plonked all 2000+ photos in a list - not ideal if I want to use it for anything else. And then I have to manually delete the photos from iPhoto. Is there not a quick and easy way of dealing with this?

This means you have 4Gb of photos in your trash.
Go to Photos - recently deleted (an option in the same menu as "camera roll" and "photo stream") and finally delete the photos.
The 4Gb of space will then be cleared.
