Arturia Brass

Hi all I´m new to this community and just a question about garage band and brass 2.5 . After a hard disk crash I can´t play brass as an vst with GB . Is there a way to update the vst so that GB can show it up in the vst list ?    thanks in advance

I'd like a simpler way to do things myself. I've fooled around with several different toys that don't seem to work with GB.
I have an Aturia "Spark " drum machine . GB doesn't seem to like it. LOL ... the Spark also doesn't have "audio outs " so I can't even play from the Spark and record it on GB.
I have come up with a work around. I have 2 iMac's. One just for music .. another that's multipourpesed . So I play the Spark on the 2nd iMac and record the audio out of that one to the tune in GB on the 1st iMac.
The best I've come up with.
Peace

  • HELP. How do i get rid of an Arturia Demo for Logic 9.....

I downloaded and installed the DEMO for  Arturia Brass 2.0 and a Moog vst. The trial period had expired and I couldn't load my Logic9 song anymore. So, I tried to delete the Arturia demos from my computer. Now, the song will not open, as it freezes during the load process?HELP please. How can I rid my computer of the Arturia stuff. Thanks.

    Hi
To remove the offending plugin from your project, start Logic and immediately hold down Control whilst Logic is booting. THis will give you the option not to load the Core Audio drivers, such that the project will open, but no audio will work. Remove the plugins from the project, then re-save. Re-start Logic normally and you should be good to go.
To remove the plugins from the system completely, go to Library:Audio:PlugIns:Components and delete the offending plugs.

  • Looking for good Brass plugins...

Not so much the orchestral sound, but more of a jazz/r&b brass section. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

I am often called upon to add pop or jazz sampled horns to projects, so this is a subject I feel fairly confident discussing.
This is definitely one area of sampled sounds that is just beginning to open up. Sure, there have been libraries in the past, but RAM and memory limitations prevented them from being anything serious enough to compete detail-wise with todays orchestral libraries.
One older library that can be gotten relatively cheap now is Quantum Leap Brass. There are basic articulations available, but it's not anything overly detailed. But the sonic qualities of this library are truly stunning (IMO). there's enough room sound in the samples for the instruments to sound very "live". Not overlay ambient, just "excited". Also, no loops were used, so each sample is played until the player ran out of breath. So the ever changing sound in a held note adds significantly to the realism.
Garittan's Big Band and Jazz. On the surface, this might appear to be not much for the serious programmer. But the real trick to this library is to utilize all the MIDI controller information that lies under the hood. Once you start adding key clicks, and breath sounds, and pitch and tonal variations, this library really can impress you. It won't sound amazing out of the box, but all the tools you need (for the most part), are there.
I have had a lot of luck using the two libraries mentioned above together.
Chris Heins Horns. I do not own this one, so I'm not able to really comment on it. I wasn't impressed with the on line demos, but I wasn't overly impressed with the Garritan ones either.
Arturia's Brass is definitely one I need to consider, the more I do this. I don't think, by itself, it can deliver the goods, but third paris is right... the detail that can come from this type of library is unparalleled. Used in conjunction with a sample based set, this could most definitely work.
And another contender that just joined the market is Sonivox Broadway Big Band
    http://www.sonivoxmi.com/ProductDetail.asp?Item=CDBigBand
The price is steep right now, and there is a lot of discussion that it doesn't have all the instruments needed to do Big band type arrangements. But listen to the demos. What it does do, is so far and above everything on the market, it's not even funny. Keep your eye on this one for sure...

  • Logic Pro X. A saxophone is made with brass, however, is not a brass instrument.

In Logic Pro X, why does the Full Brass setting in the Orchestral Brass Library show a depiction of two brass instruments and a woodwind instrument? A saxophone is not in any way a brass instrument. Please fix this, as it is incorrect and driving me nuts.

It's shiny and I like it.  One vote to not change this and fix Space Designer instead.

  • Good saxophone, mouth organ, brass and banjo sounds

Does anyone know where i can get good saxophone, mouth organ, brass and banjo sounds?
Mainstage has them (except mouth organ), but I've heard better sounds on Roland machines.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Good you got it sorted. Tip: you could post this sort of question on the Logic Pro 8 forum too; the answer would be relevant to LP8 users too, and you'll certainly get more responses. Even if the question is specifically about Mainstage, you can try over there too.
    regards, Erik.

  • What about the Brass and Woodwind instruments?

There should be brass and woodwind instruments.
Such as a saxophone, a clarinet, a flute, and a trumpet.

    Yes.
We are a working with trusted data, is iCloud not recommend?
As with MobileMe, iCloud storage is as secure as your password. If someone knows your password they can access your data, so it's important to use a strong password.

  • Spent Brass Flying Across The Room

I just got some spent brass from Detonation Films. I need to simulate shells flying out of an M-16, I tried the replicator. That doesn't seem to help. I want it to repeat the action one round after another flying out of the gun. Any suggestions? How do I get it to repeat?
    Thanks!

In After Effects there is a filter from Cycore called Particle World. The system includes options for the behavior of the world's floor surface. You can set it to bounce the particles.
I do not know if there is a similar function in Motion's behaviors for particles and I woiuldn't know how to use it if there was.

  • Recording My Arturia MicroBrute produces Heavy Distortion?

    Hi guys,
While controlling the Arturia MicroBrute playing the sequencer via MIDI controlled BPM on my timeline, it plays fine with INPUT selected.
The moment i hit the R button for Record ready, the audio signal becomes extremely distorted and overloaded, like bit crushed. My gain levels are fine, there is no overload there.
It only happens when i hit the R button on Logic Pro X track.
    I am running a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.
Any idea why this is happening ?
    Thanks!

    Hi Pancenter,
I downloaded it and installed. But I face this peculiar issue where after i switch on my synth and put the tracks in I and R mode, i get this weird loop feedback sound...like a pulse through my speakers. It never used to happen before and suddenly started. Is there some settings in Recording that I need to fix ? I have looked into my connections and all is good.  I have a Line Out from my synth going into Line In into my Scarlett 2i4. I just find it weird coz it never happened before..any advice will be most helpful!
    Thanks !

  • How do I access all the Arturia 49 key analog library to Garage Band? I see the analog library but not all the SW instruments?

    Alex,
have you tried everything in this thread? The problem seems to be different for everybody:
If nothing helps try dagon's full monty for a reinstall:
Re: GarageBand '11 won't download additional loops
Or a manual download using the Terminal as mteep suggests:

  • Logic crashes when project loads Arturia Wurlitzer V

When loading recent project, Logic crashes when it gets to loading Arturia Wurlitzer V with error: read_size = =bytesize. Able to use Wurlitzer in new project. Is this Arturia problem or Logic problem? This started originally when I was working on the project, and it crashed.

I've got a PDF manual for the Arturia Minimoog (I told you it was late last night) and there is a Configuration page there - that could be worth having a check over for the equivalent - there's always a balance between your processor speed/RAM/communication speeds and I don't exactly know what you're trying to run that on.
The loading time for that plug-in does seem to suggest that it uses a bit more memory, but if you break me open like a stick of candy, I'm a good 80% musician in the middle, so what do I know...he he..

  • Logic X with Arturia Spark2 + SparkLE Problems

HI there, i hope there is anyone to help me out
I have Logic X as Daw and try to use Spark2 with the Controller SparkLe (both made by ARTURIA).
I think i tried every possible midi connection but it still don´t work
Fact is: I can record midi signals from Pads, Play and Pause, Programmchange etc
BUT: When i press play Logic only plays the single pads but is not triggering the Sequenzer, no effects and no program changes...
Perhaps someone knows how to setup the midiinviroment ... i would appreciate that much!!
And sure (!!!) I read all the manuals, made clear that i have the latest SW and started a long conversation with Arturia (but somehow they don´t know the clou )
Thank you very much, think i´m lost....

my processing threads in Logic are set to 4. Buffer size set to minimum an I still get annoying latency and unecceptable CPU crackle -
    If you didn't mistype.....
You have set up things completely the opposite to what you need for your setup.... and so, to help prevent the issues...
    Go to LPX's audio prefs... and try the following;
Your i7 has 8 cores not just 4.. (4 real and 4 virtual) so set according...
Having the I/O Buffer size set to minimum increases the loads on the system, not decreases.. so change that setting... If you have it set to 32, increase it to 64 or even 128 or 256 samples... and test with each change to see how you get on....
Also what do the actual latency figures show.. (Just below I/O buffer size...) after each change...
Finally, check what you have set the Process Buffer Range to.... If it's set to small.. set it to medium and test... and then to large and test.... and again see how you get on.

  • Setting up Arturia softsynths

maybe i should be able to intuit the process, but i'm having a **** of a time setting up my recently purchased arturia minimoog software to work with mainstage. both the mainstage and arturia manuals are pretty worthless in this regard.
any input would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you've set up the channel strip correctly. Don't worry about how it saves the MM settings -- MS handles all that for you. Just pick the preset you want, or create your own sound, and MS will remember your settings for the next time the channel strip is loaded.
The next thing I'd check is your MIDI channel configuration. Have you created a keyboard in layout mode, and assigned a MIDI channel to it? If not you need to do that, and then assign the MM channel strip to that keyboard (it may be set to None which is why it's not responding). And of course, make sure that your controller is transmitting on that same MIDI channel.
If that still doesn't work, verify that you're getting MIDI traffic on the right channel by playing your controller while looking at the top of the screen in Edit mode. MIDI activity will be displayed there. If no activity is registering, then there's an issue with your controller.
Are you on MS1 or MS2?

  • Help! Have tried to purchase tracks this afternoon, but asks me to enter new agreement. I accept but get "session time out, try again later"  Any clues? Getting brassed off!

Hi, I've got an old eMac. I've tried purchasing tracks this afternoon and this evening. Log into account no problem. Starts to download but straight away screen switches to a new iTunes agreement. I accept/ agree to this new agreement, but get the following message - "Session timed out. Try again later". Have shut everything down and restarted - get the same result. Starting to get brassed off. Not very computer literate. HELP!

Still waiting for help: But, i now wonder if this is even an answerable topic? I thought since others had had this problem too that someone would know what to do.
WHat about how to contact a "Live" person employed by apple to trouble shoot unsolvable problems in discussion groups?  That tip would help me get to the bottom of this issue.  Thank you in advance,

  • I can't use Arturia Jupiter 8v synth In GarageBand 10

I just bought the Arturia Jupiter 8v virtual synth.
But Garageband 10 refuses to mount it as an audio unit
(I get a message that it needs to be updated - but it is updated to
    the latest patch.)
I have the elicenser updated to the latest patch - no joy.
I tried clearing the audio units cache - no joy.
Ironically, I also have the Arturia Spark LE - and that mounts
as an AU plugin in Garageband 10, no problem.
Ironically, I can also get the Jupter 8v au to mount in the old Garageband 6.
So what is exactly going on?
I've read somewhere that Apple has initialised "sandboxing" in Garageband 10 - is this
meant to put off developers or prevent end-users like myself from being creative?
So Apple seems to be going against its old values in terms of accessibility and
    ease of use.
    I'm just scratching my head.

just bought the Arturia Jupiter 8v virtual synth.
But Garageband 10 refuses to mount it as an audio unit
(I get a message that it needs to be updated - but it is updated to
    the latest patch.)
That does not mean, that it is compatible. With GarageBand 10.0 some audio units are no longer compatible, that used to work in GarageBand 11.0.  GarageBand 10. only supports 64bit Audio Units.
GarageBand for Mac is a 64-bit application and works with 64-bit Audio Units plug-ins. 32-bit Audio Units plug-ins are not compatible.
See this link:   GarageBand for Mac (v10.0): Unexpected behavior with Audio Units plug-ins
But I tried just now, and with this download link the audio unit is working:   http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/jupiter-8v/resources.html
