Artwork doesn't match song/artist

I purchased iTunes match recently and then turned it on my iPhone. Now some of the artwork doesn't match the artist. For example, whenever I play a Cher song the artwork for Rihanna shows up. This is not the case on my iMac. The artwork is correct in iTunes or if there is no artwork it is blank like it's supposed to be.
So far I am not impressed with iTunes match. There are too many problems with it. I wish I wouldn't have purchased it.
My question is: how can I get the artwork to match the artist? I've seen other suggestions, such as deleting the song and downloading it again, but it didn't work.

I had that problem also. what worked for me was finding the album art that you want from the internet and save it to the desktop and then goto itunes and right click on the album then get info then drag the album art onto artwork then click ok. after you do that to all the albums that you want it done to then goto store then update itunes match. after it is finish updating then goto your iphone and quit the music app and then open it back up. once it loads up then the art should be there. It might seem like alot but try doing that for 13000 songs like i had to do.

  • Artwork doesn't match

My coverflow art doesn't match my video viewer. In my computer iTune>album artwork, I have two folders- download & local. They look close but are not the same. I think that is my problem, so which one of the folders do I use to overwrite the other?
    Thanks

Does this happen in iTunes, on the iPod, one or the other, or both?
If the album art is correct in iTunes, try the steps listed here...

  • Artwork does not match songs, how do I fix?

My artwork no longer matches up with ny songs. It used to, but now it all mixed up. Is there a way to fix this problem?

    - Try a reset . Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Then resync.
    - Unsyn and then resync
    - Restore from backup
Your artwork problem is not uncommon after iOS 5.

  • HT1386 album  cover doesn't match song playing

I plugged my iphone into the computer to sync it and now the album covers don't match song playing. How can I fix this?

I have this same problem.  The iPhone 5 cover art does not match any of the songs.  The iPad 1 works perfectly off the same iTunes library.  I went through the iTunes library and everything is correct their.
I tried deleting all of the music and resyncing.  It did not change.
    Any thoughts?

  • Album artwork does not match songs!?!?

for some reason the top played songs on my ipod are on my ipod are not displaying the correct artwork on my ipod itself on my itunes the correct artwork corresponds to the song. What is makes it stranger is if i press the middle button in on my ipod to change the display, a completley different artwork is shown can anyone halp

    Hi,
If the songs were purchased from itunes, I suggest that you delete the tracks from your itunes library and move to trash (providing you live in a country that permits redownloading). See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12283.

  • Art does not match Song/Artist

I sync my iPod with the home computer. Today at work it was running low on battery so I conected it to the office computer (not the same as home) just to charge, obviously not sync. I have done this several times with no issues afterwards.
After it charged, I disconnected and started using and noticed that the art displayed did not match the song. I played several songs and the same problem. I tried a soft reset, did not work.
    Any ideas? Thanks!!!

I can't promise this is going to work, but you can give it a try.
    1. In iTunes, select your Ipod under Devices.
    2. In the Music tab, clear the Display album artwork on your iPod, and then click Apply.
    3. Reselect the check box and click Apply.
This worked for me when the artwork stopped displaying.

  • Get Album Artwork doesn't recognize mainstream artists

I ripped my mp3 collection from Audiograbber using Freedb (a free database for album info) and put them onto an external hard drive. I've added the folder to my iTunes music library, but when I try to get album artwork, it says "Could not get artwork for some albums." and lists albums from artists like Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin (48 in total). When I actually go look at each file, it has enough tag information to find the album (title - "Back in the Saddle", artist - "Aerosmith", album - "Rocks", genre - "Hard Rock"... everything it needs).
What about the file is iTunes not recognizing? Audiograbber uses ID3 tags.

So if the album isn't available in the iTunes store, it's not recognized? That's ridiculous. That's like saying if I don't buy through iTunes, I shouldn't use iTunes to sync my music to my iPod. That sounds like Apple again following only wherever the dollar goes.
Windows Media Player uses All Music Guide, which stores everything whether you can buy it through anybody or not. Apple makes great devices, but they're continually pushing me away from them because they put the almighty dollar first and me second. Hopefully Google will integrate their online music service and I won't have to worry about whether an album I can buy just about anywhere won't be recognized by Apple's proprietary dollar-munching service.

  • New iTunes - Artwork downloaded doesn't match

I just installed the latest iTUnes version. I have gone through my whole library and downloaded the artwork (album covers) but when the artwork doesn't match, I try to delete it but the wrong cover stays, and I have no way to remove it..... Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks

Have the same problem. Suggestion of pac_80 doesn't work.
Have posted this to the Itunes helpdesk.
What's strange is that when clicking Get Info the artwork doesn't pop up. When adding other artwork the previous one remains in the view, while the new one in the separate artwork-window => so downloaded and manually added must be two separate fields...

  • ITunes Match music not updating on iPhone 4 - all settings "correct", but all playlists and many songs, artists, albums, artwork missing

I'm having a maddening problem with iTunes Match on my iPhone 4. I have the following settings established on the phone:
Settings > iCloud > Account: properly logged in to the correct, main account
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup: On
Settings > Music > iTunes Match: On
Settings > Music > Show All Music: On
Settings > Store: Logged into the same correct, main account as above
Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music: On
On my laptop - the computer I use to primarily manage my iTunes music collection - when I "Update iTunes Match", all but three songs are listed as "Matched", "Uploaded". or "Purchased", and I'm correctly told that "12,277 songs are now available in iCloud".
But over the past week or so, music has been disappearing from my iPhone 4. When I go under Music > Playlists, none of my Playlists are showing. When I go under Music > Songs, it only lists 240 of the 12,277 tracks that are supposedly available in iCloud. Only 126 of around 1300 artists are listed. I have meticulously collected/scanned album artwork for literally every song in my collection, but a ton of it is missing on even the few tracks that do show up on my iPhone, and on and on and on.
I've been trying switching settings on and off, logging out and back in, waiting minutes, hours, or even days between attempts, running a restore to previous backup for the whole phone, etc. But after days of frustration and time wasted - nothing. And the real kicker is that the whole music collection IS showing up just fine on my wife's iPhone 4 - it just won't work on mine, and it's mostly my music to begin with!
So why won't my music collection show up on my iPhone 4? What do I do to fix this? How is this worth the money I paid for the Match service?

Thanks to kirbyfromtrenton, I have tracked down at least a partial fix for this problem:
1 - Turn off iTunes match in iTunes.
2 - Turn off iTunes match on the iPhone.
3 - Close iTunes and reopen.
    4 - Connect your iPhone.
5 - Go into your music folder for the iPhone and delete all the songs.
6 - Turn back on iTunes match in iTunes
7 - Turn back on iTunes match on the iPhone
All of my music is available once again, although I'm still not seeing my playlists or artwork. That could be because I'm overseas right now with a slow wi-fi connection though.

  • My matched songs in iTunes on my computer show the artists, but some do not show up on my iPad or iPhone?

My matched songs in iTunes on my computer show all the artists, but most artists do not show up in Music on my iPad or iPhone? I recently fixed the song titles coming back from Match update changed to Track ** by going thru every song's info (command i) and typing in the song title manually (fortunately I had a hard copy of all my song titles and artists and only had about 160 songs to do) and that fixed the problem. Now, both the song titles and artists show in my iTunes, but NOT on my ipad and iphone Music (There are a few that show up). I tried to test my "re-typing artists" into info manually on a few, but it didn't work. I also tried adding "Single" or "None" to the albumn title, but no go. Any suggestions?

  • My iTunes Match songs no longer show up in Songs, Albums or Artists after updating iTunes

I updated iTunes today on my 2nd computer (PC) and now when I go to Songs, Artists or Albums I only see what music files i have saved on this computer.  I no longer see the songs that I have through iTunes Match.  The only way I can see and play (stream) songs that I haven't saved on this computer is by going to Playlists and picking a song from there, however I don't have all of my music saved to a specific playlist.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Are you still signed into match?
