Artwork Doesn't Match Track

Sometimes the artwork displayed doesn't match the track being played ... any clues as to fax or as to a why?
Thanks

Does this happen in iTunes, on the iPod, one or the other, or both?
If the album art is correct in iTunes, try the steps listed here...

  • Artwork doesn't match song/artist

I purchased iTunes match recently and then turned it on my iPhone. Now some of the artwork doesn't match the artist. For example, whenever I play a Cher song the artwork for Rihanna shows up. This is not the case on my iMac. The artwork is correct in iTunes or if there is no artwork it is blank like it's supposed to be.
So far I am not impressed with iTunes match. There are too many problems with it. I wish I wouldn't have purchased it.
My question is: how can I get the artwork to match the artist? I've seen other suggestions, such as deleting the song and downloading it again, but it didn't work.

I had that problem also. what worked for me was finding the album art that you want from the internet and save it to the desktop and then goto itunes and right click on the album then get info then drag the album art onto artwork then click ok. after you do that to all the albums that you want it done to then goto store then update itunes match. after it is finish updating then goto your iphone and quit the music app and then open it back up. once it loads up then the art should be there. It might seem like alot but try doing that for 13000 songs like i had to do.

  • Artwork doesn't match

My coverflow art doesn't match my video viewer. In my computer iTune>album artwork, I have two folders- download & local. They look close but are not the same. I think that is my problem, so which one of the folders do I use to overwrite the other?
    Thanks

  • New iTunes - Artwork downloaded doesn't match

I just installed the latest iTUnes version. I have gone through my whole library and downloaded the artwork (album covers) but when the artwork doesn't match, I try to delete it but the wrong cover stays, and I have no way to remove it..... Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks

Have the same problem. Suggestion of pac_80 doesn't work.
Have posted this to the Itunes helpdesk.
What's strange is that when clicking Get Info the artwork doesn't pop up. When adding other artwork the previous one remains in the view, while the new one in the separate artwork-window => so downloaded and manually added must be two separate fields...

  • Artwork doesn't display...

I got a problem after the last update. I have an iMac and a MB with a synchronized iTunes database and files, in iMac when I’m browsing the albums and I select one album, the artwork doesn’t display in the bottom left corner, the album display only if I select to listen a song. In my MB everything is right I select an album (single click) the album display correctly. Any idea about this?

Hi. I've just bought an iPod Classic and transferred all my albums (600 or so) from my old Creative. It picked up about half the album sleeves. On the Creative, I also had one genre, "music" and the iPod has created about a million genres. It's also mixed up some compilations.
So, no probs: I work out what Ctrl I does and try to change thge genres / import album sleeves / tidy up compilations.
However: nothing happens. The best I can say is that it's like it's read only, and won't let me do anything. Any ideas?
Just so you know: I'm doing this on the PC in iTunes with the iPod disconnected.
I have highlighted all the tracks on an album to change genre, ticked the box, tried adding "album artist" but as soon as I press ok, nothing happens.
With the album sleeves, I downloaded an image from Amazon, highlighted all the tracks and pressed Ctrl I, then dragged the image into the box. The image appears in the box, but when I press OK nothing happens. I also tried dragging the image to the box in the iTunes screen where there's a musical note. I get the "no entry" sign on the cursor saying it's not allowed.

  • Get Artwork Doesn't Work

Aside from the fact that the reliability of CD covers found by the +Get Artwork+ function is not all that impressive, I now have the wrong artwork displaying in the cover flow that doesn't match the artwork I added manually to correct the initial problem (i.e., +Get Artwork+ found the wrong artwork). There seems to be a disconnect between what displays on the iTunes window for CD art and what displays in cover art. Any ideas on how I can get the manually added correct artwork to display in the cover flow?

iTunes / Store doesn't hold ALL artwork.  If it doesn't, it simply seems to 'fail'.  However, if you right click an individual album and select "get info", you will see an artwork 'blank square' in the bottom right corner of the info tab.
Double click on the artwork blank square and it will allow you to upload any file as the album artwork.  So, you will need to copy the album cover from a picture (a straightforward search on the net / copy and paste will sort that out) and then simply upload it.
It's a little time-consuming, but worth it if you value seeing your album covers.  Has worked for me every time with the exception of 3 albums converted from WAV to MP3 (so, if you have many WAV converted files, this won't work).

  • Artwork behavior in Match

More artwork strangeness since subscribing to iTunes Match. The tracks sync works great, but the artwork is very haphazard, some tracks fine, others not. And very oddly, the artwork for a given track is visible in coverflow, but not in the single track view mode. The artwork is present on the track in iTunes, but a Match sync as well as a manual sync did not fix the issue.
I've tried cutting, deleting and re-pasting the artwork: no help.
Finally, powered the Touch off, restarted. Appears a Match sync took place, and ouilá, the artwork appeared in the right place.
    Go figure.

I have been doing a lot of research, and asking a lot of questions.  So far, it seems that the only way to keep artwork for movies an music is if you have purchased it from the iTunes store.
Otherwise, forget about it.  It ain't happening.  iTunes does not like the "user" to add their own artwork to music from other sources.
I am still looking for answers, but iTunes does "phone home" and if the song of movie has not been downloaded from the iTunes store then there are no guaranties that it will be there the next time you open iTunes, and WILL NOT show on Apple TV via "Home Sharing".
Please correct me if I am wrong.
    You're really not accurate.
I add custom artwork to video and music in iTunes all the time. The secret is it needs to be in the appropriate size and DPI for iTunes to properly display it. Artwork that falls outside of those parameters may not show up at all.
For music I have found that either 300x300 or 600x600 at 72 DPI always shows up on all my devices. For movies and TV shows 1000x1500 and 600x600 at 72 DPI repectively. These parameters also work splendidly with iTunes Match.
A good place to get artwork for video is <http://getvideoartwork.com/>.

  • Iphone 5 system serial no doesn't match with outer box? Case of misprint? i see only one latter is serial no doesn't match

I recently bought iphone 5 32gb white. Was surprise to see the outer box serial no doesn't match with iphone 5 system.
They have print XXXXXXTXXXX on box and on phone its XXXXXX7XXXXXX. Only one latter is mixprint though.
I check coverage status at apple site. The box serieal no is not found in apple system while the iphone 5 inside serial no i can see warrenty.
plz help is it normal to have serial no unmatched on phone and box or the phone is not genuine

You are correct. The SIM Tray of iPhone 5 does not have the Serial #  printed on it. So your Serial # is the one in the Settings app About. This is your true Serial #. A 7 and a T from a box label are not distinct enough to matter. Apple will only honor the Settings About Serial # and the ones located inside the iPhone 5, which will be the same as the About Serial #.

  • My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist.

My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist. But it still tracking plays from my iPhone and syncing them.
I've tried to repair it with setup file. Nothing's changed.
Can you help me with that?
NOTE: Now I tried disabling the crossfade feature and it worked, started to count again. But I like crossfade, I don't want to keep it off.

I think I got this figured out. The playcount does update, but not how the previous iPod models update their playcount. Instead of immediately updating the playcount right after you finish the song like the older iPod models, iPod Touch keeps the updates in memory. The next time you connect to iTunes it'll sync those playcounts in memory to the actual songs itself, effectively updating the playcount of the songs only after connecting to iTunes. I have set my syncing manually. That's why after connecting to iTunes, my playcounts are updated. BUT it doesn't solve the mystery of my Smart Playlist. Even though in iTunes, the correct songs are listed, in the iPod Touch, it shows the old playlist.
Don't you just hate that? It was working fine before on non-iPod touch models. Now we have to live with this new bug. I just hope when they release software 2.0 it fixes these bugs and that they *give it for free!* People shouldn't be charged on something they should have gotten as a support!

  • Error: The decapsulated inner packet doesn't match the negotiated policy in the SA

I upgraded my ASA from 8.2(1) to 8.4(3) as I wanted to try to get Android devices to properly connect via VPN.
After some effort, I was able to get the Android devices to connect via VPN.  However, my syslog server has a number of errors recorded that look this this:
%ASA-4-402116: IPSEC: Received an ESP packet (SPI= 0x1E76EFA6, sequence number= 0x1F0) from x.x.x.x (user= testuser) to y.y.y.y.  The decapsulated inner packet doesn't match the negotiated policy in the SA.  The packet specifies its destination as z.z.z.z, its source as a.a.a.a, and its protocol as tcp.  The SA specifies its local proxy as y.y.y.y/255.255.255.255/udp/42246 and its remote_proxy as x.x.x.x/255.255.255.255/udp/0.
Digging further, it seems this error might be due to a NAT issues with the VPN connections.  VPN previously worked with Cisco's VPN client on Windows, though I did not test to see if that is no longer working.  However, I made no changes in the config, except for those related to additions needed to support L2TP.  With the below config, Android clients can connect to the ASA and access the internal network, but they cannot connect to external addresses.  I'm at a loss.
The addresses used in the config: 192.168.1.0/24 are on the internal LAN and 192.168.3.0/24 are addresses assigned to VPN clients.
I noted in the config this line:
    access-list inside_nat0_outbound extended permit ip any 192.168.3.0 255.255.255.0
The access list is not referenced anywhere, though it was referenced in the 8.2(1) config like this:
    nat (inside) 0 access-list inside_nat0_outbound
I'm not sure what else changed, but I've looked over the config and I just cannot see what the issue might be.  I'm hoping somebody might be able to point out my error.

One last question: in order to get the connection from Android to work, I was forced to use "tunnel-group DefaultRAGroup".  Is that actually a limitation, or did I make an error that forced that requirement?  I wanted to use "tunnel-group testVPNnsl2tp".
    Thanks!

    Chris,
This is still a bit off the mark.  I think I might be confusing the issue by including some of the VPN configuration that I had previously installed and working (e.g., two other VPN tunnel groups with split tunneling on one of them).  Let's just remove that stuff from consideration.  I actually tested the current configs just to see if they are working since the upgrade.  testVPN is working with the split tunneling, but testVPNns (no-split tunneling) does not allow external access.  I guess there is a NAT config issue there, too, but not sure what it is, yet.  I've not investigated that closely.
I want to solve one problem at a time, though I understand there are some interdependencies.
What I'd like to focus on right now is just the L2TP VPN connection.
From what I've been able to understand from the documentation, what I need are these lines:
    crypto ipsec ikev1 transform-set ESP-AES-128-SHA-TRANSP esp-aes esp-sha-hmac
    crypto ipsec ikev1 transform-set ESP-AES-128-SHA-TRANSP mode transport
    crypto ipsec ikev1 transform-set ESP-3DES-SHA-TRANSP esp-des esp-sha-hmac
    crypto ipsec ikev1 transform-set ESP-3DES-SHA-TRANSP mode transport

    crypto map outside_map 65535 ipsec-isakmp dynamic SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP
    crypto map outside_map interface outside
    crypto ikev1 enable outside
    group-policy testVPNnsl2tp internal
    group-policy testVPNnsl2tp attributes
    wins-server value 192.168.1.8
    dns-server value 192.168.1.8 192.168.1.4
    vpn-idle-timeout none
    vpn-tunnel-protocol l2tp-ipsec
    tunnel-group DefaultRAGroup general-attributes
    address-pool VPN-Pool-1
    default-group-policy testVPNnsl2tp
    tunnel-group DefaultRAGroup ipsec-attributes
    ikev1 pre-shared-key P74bmqL6rT40bl5
    tunnel-group DefaultRAGroup ppp-attributes
    authentication ms-chap-v2
    crypto ikev1 policy 5
    authentication pre-share
    encryption aes
    hash sha
    group 2
    lifetime 86400
I still want to assign the IP addresses to VPN clients out of 192.168.3.0/24.
The tricky part is understanding exactly what NAT rules to insert and to avoid that error message I'm getting relatred to the encapsulated packets.  I tried to introduce the commands you had, but it's missing stuff that I would need for L2TP/IPSec (e.g., "mode transport").  I also don't think I want "pfs group5".  The above config "works" in that I get connected -- all negotiation is done.  It's just that packets from the VPN client are not able to go out to the Internet and I'm seeing that encapsulation error messages when I try to send a packet.
