Artwork is correct for Itunes and wrong for the ipod!
All the artwork is wrong on my ipod! It's all correct on Itunes, though. I can't figure it out. For example, I pick a song by Madonna, and it shows artwork for the CD "Essential Big Bands"! BUT when I click the middle button twice on my iPod (to select the album cover view), the Artwork is correct on the large view on my ipod! But when I go back to the song title, it's wrong again. So it's the thumbnail pic on the ipod that's screwed up. Does anyone have any idea what happened and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Frank
Had the same problem with my 4th generation Nano. It seems it was a USB port issue. Once I put a high speed USB 2.0 port on my machine the problem seemed to go away. However, If I highlight tracks in iTunes and drag them to my iPod then, while the songs are loading, try and add more then I will get mis-matched cover art.
Best advise is make sure you have a high speed 2.0 port on your PC (You may need a powered USB port) and copy your music slowly to your iPod. Avoid adding 10 tracks by 10 different artists then dragging 4 more complete albums when the previous music hasn't compleltely loaded.
Yeah it's a pain! And I haven't quite figured out just how much music containing different artwork I can add at once. I just know it seems to happen less with complete albums, a high speed USB port, and not trying to add a lot of different music at once.
Hope that helped I know it's not much of a solution.

On my ipod touch, i can't seem to get the imessage app.. I have updated my itunes and even restored the ipod to factory settings with the latest update. Maybe the ipod is too old? Is that even a thing? Is there another app I can download to have access to my contacts with imessage?
That comes with iOS 5 (Settings>General>About>Version) and only the 3G abd later iPods can go to iOS 5 or later

Fix for iTunes and Windows not recognizing iPod after 7.7 upgrade...
..it worked for me!
XP wanted drivers for the iPod, and I used the method in this doc with one exception:
iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136
...when the wizard came up and asked to look for the driver, I clicked "Search for the best driver in these locations" except instead of windows/inf I went to system32/drivers and found a subfolder with USBAAPL.SYS [the driver name] in the title... it was a hidden folder so you'll have to have them visible to see it. Using that folder as the target for the search picked it up immediately and then everything was fine.Hello Overdrive_king,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I'm assuming you also tried using different USB ports (preferably ones attached directly to the motherboard) as well as using a different USB cable as well just for good measure?
If you choose Computer from the Start menu, does your iPod show up as a mounted drive there? What happens if you put it into disk mode using the instructions provided here.

It might also help to try the other solutions mentioned in this article related to your issue as necessary (I know you have already tried a number of them).

And lastly, it wouldn't hurt to remove and re-install the necessary drivers for your iPod.

Album artwork shows up in itunes but not on the ipod...
i just realized when i put some new songs on my ipod that not the album artwork werent showing up, so i followed some directions i found in some other discussion threads, like unchecking the display artwork button and checking it again. But instead of fixing the problem, all my artwork no longer appears on the ipod. In itunes, they are visible. When i play my songs in itunes, the artwork is displayed in the lower left corner but when i disconnect my ipod, the artwork don't show up... can anyone help me?
Black Ipod Video Windows XPI've had this problem and you have to hook up the images to the songs before you sync it to your ipod. Think its some Itunes 7 issue

My Ipod is Classic is not showing any podcasts which I have downloads either on the library within itunes or on the ipod but is showing in the syncing section some 3300 plus podcasts but even after syncing they are noty showing on the library or on the Ipod am missing a step here as I have ticked all before syncing ??
Is this a software failure ?I have sorted it myself!!
Ipod is now in the top right corner, last time I clicked on it, it ejected it but by clicking on the actual ipod icon then it brings up your ipod. I restored it to factory settings and synced all my music and it now works again. Hope this can help anyone who ends up with the same problem. -
I have a couple of songs on my ipod which will not play on the ipod: when I click them, it skips and plays the next song. They play perfectly fine on my ipod touch and itunes though.
Any solutions?Sounds like the problem I have with my nano 3g. Mine happens with Podcasts. One plays audio, but not video, the rest don't play, skips through all the audio podcasts. I'll watch your post, I did the 5Rs.

I have also tried all the recommended 5 steps, but it doesn't respond. when connected to itunes, it will cahrge and update. but no response on its own.
No, you will have to replace the switch or do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store.

Can I have differnet passwords for itunes and icloud
Can I have different passworkds for itunes and icloud
No but you can create separate Apple IDs. One for iTunes and one for iCloud.
-
Currently have ipod touch 4 and am getting iphone 5c this weekend. Currently our family has several apple devices and they have the same apple ID for itunes and it is the same ID that we use for icloud. I want to set up a separate icloud ID so that it is only on my new device. I still want to keep the same apple ID for purchases. Can I do this and better yet when do I do this...before the purchase, after the purchase and backing up of data. Where do I go to create a new one?
Figured it out. Thanks.

ITunes and XP see new iPod(s) but perptually detect recovery mode
Hello.
We received two 80GB iPod Classics and a 160GB iPod Classic for Christmas. Had to install XP SP2 and iTunes 7.5.0.20 in order to load music. The iPods are detected by XP: the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon shows up in the TaskBar, and "Apple iPod USB Driver" and "USB Mass Storage Device" appear in Device Manager when the iPod is plugged into a(ny) USB port. The iPod then appears under "Devices" in iTunes but a dialog box always appears immediately, saying "iTunes has detected an iPod in Recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.".
So I did; iTunes downloaded a 57MB update for the iPod (v1.0.3) and installed it. It restarted the iPod and, as soon as it re-appeared in iTunes, it gave the same message.
The "Sync iPod" command in the "File" menu is greyed out so the only thing I can do is rename the iPod, but the name has reverted to "iPod" whenever I re-connect.
Tried several (new) cables and even bought a new USB 2.0 card; no joy. Subsequently used my daughter's new laptop (running Vista) to transfer songs to two of the iPods with no problem; the XP machine continues to report them as being in recovery mode even though they work fine.
The "five Rs" didn't work. Though I can watch iTunes and the iPod communicate when performing the Restore, iTunes' diagnostics curiously reports "No iPod found" (always).
I can only think of two potential problems:
1) The XP machine is somehow too old: dual PII 450
2) I have not applied any patches to XP; it's SP2 straight out of the box and I haven't authenticated it with Microsoft yet.
Has anyone seen behavior similar to this and found a solution?
Thanks
PS: it appears iTunes and the iPod can become confused about disconnecting when the eject icon is clicked after a second window has been opened - and even closed - by double-clicking the iPod device in iTunes; have to use XP to "Safely Remove Hardware" before the iPod acknowledges it's disconnected.Actually, Robert had the answer.
After I accidently "solved" the problem, my first network drive wasn't available. After re-booting and re-connecting the iPod, the problem returned.
Robert's reply then prompted me to check (via the Logical Disk Manager) the drive letter assigned to the iPod. Sure enough, it was using the same letter as my missing network drive. So if the iPod was connected during re-boot, it got the letter first and worked; otherwise the letter would be unavailable for the iPod.
I changed the iPod's drive letter to Z. (I had also removed and re-installed iTunes, and later Restored the iPod again, but I can't say for certain that either of those steps was necessary). The problem has now stayed solved - even after returning the BIOS setting to "Disabled".
So THANKS Robert. I'll see if I can follow Katrina's suggestion to award you Forum points.
