Artwork location question

I have a couple questions about artwork.
For a lot of them I can't find artwork from the iTunes store, so I'm adding it manually. I save pictures to my desktop and drag them to the artwork window.
My question is, where does iTunes store the picture files for artwork? I want to delete the pictures from my computer once I add them to the songs so I can conserve disk space. I'm afraid once I delete them from the computer or move them to a different location that they'll no longer be seen in iTunes. Is this the case? I don't want to lose all the work I have to do, because I have over 650 albums represented in my library.

The artwork is copied to a directory under your iTunes Music directory (My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork.
You can safely delete the artwork files from your desktop.

  • IPhoto library Location Question

Hello Apple Discussion wizards, though this is my first post, i've used this forum extensively and you have all helped me with many problems.
Anyway, old macbook was killed by humidity, currently on new imac.
old iphoto library was recovered and loaded to an external. my new iphoto library had around 300 pics, old one had around 12000, all organized by albums and such, so naturally i wanted to move the new iphoto library photos into my old one, and make my old library the default on my new computer.
essentially, i dragged the files from my old iphoto onto the desktop, held option while i opened iphoto, seleected the old library, then dragged the 300 pics into it.
now, currently iphoto opens with all my pics. the library location is
    /Users/claycohen/Pictures/iPhotoLibrary1
everything seems cool, but im worried about the location/permissions of the library
for example, if i go to change my desktop photo in system prefs, when i browse finder, my iPhotoLibrary1 is greyed out and cant be selected.
    MAIN QUESTION:
Is there a way to reset my current library to factory location and settings but keep all my albums/photos etc?
thanks for your help everyone, if that didn't make sense i can try to re explain. to quote thom yorke - i just want "everything in its right place"

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions.

  • Stock locator question

    hi folks,
we have a six-segment inventory stock locator defined in KFF. we have a need to use a combination of the first 4 in some of our inventory organizations, and all 6 in the rest. is it possible to achieve this?
    thanks and regards.

As long as the KFF does not have the 6 segments as mandatory, you can certainly create locators with just 4 segments.
And even if it is mandatory, you can create the locators with segment5 and 6 with a default value (such as Z, 0 etc.)
    Hope this answers your question,

Another question is about Is there any T-code or way to check which plant, which storage location maintaing in the specific material?

  • Artwork location when media is stored in a non-standard location

I run 2 HDD's on my PC - one smaller one for OS and programs, and a 1 TB drive for data. So all my music is stored on D:\Audio Files. Under Audio Files I have \Albums and \Various for my own MP3 music ripped from CD's, and then an \iTunes Music folder for purchased songs. I have iTunes set to automatically save imported music under D:\Audio Files\Albums. But where is the album artwork stored? I don't see an Artwork folder anywhere, and I have had to manually drag a few album covers for ones that iTunes couldn't find or used the wrong one.

It is stored in the same path/subfolder where the itunes database file is stored.
For example, I run my iTunes Library.itl file from my exHD, which is assigned to K: drive letter.
iTunes puts the artwork in K:/Album Artwork.
Unless you have changed the location of your ITL file, it is in the default path on C:

  • OracleInventory directory location question

During installation of any Fusion Middleware component for a fresh install,
the installer asks for home directory for oracleInventory
and once entered the installation proceeds.
Please confirm if following is true
    1. This oracleInventory directory is used to keep log of the installs
However, after deinstall and re-installing, the installer does not ask for
oracleInventory directory. It uses the one previously used.
    2. Question: How does or where does the installer record the home directory for
    oracleInventory
    3. Question: If one were to chane this directory location for oracleInventory, for a fresh install,
then how to guide the installer to use ask for a new location for oracleInventory?
    4. Question: Is it ok to delete the oracleInventory directory after an install is completed?
Or would it affect normal operation of the installed product?

I suppose it’s done to your individual requirement. There’s no reason why you can’t. We keep them on a different disk, but because of our daily SOCS checks and GRID notification email, we know when it’s getting full/etc

  • Zone path location question

I am rebuilding our Zone hosting server and the Zone paths are currently located on the SAN through an iscsi mount. My question is: If I plan to use Live Upgrade should the zone paths be in the root partition instead?
Also, if you have any suggestions about using Live upgrade with non-global zones I would like to hear them as well.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Which file system you are using?
I have patched several guest ldoms running several zones with Live Upgrade. Every zone's zroot is on separate zpool (because of HA). This way it is quite easy to migrate a single zone to second node (in the event of disaster)
One thing that you should remember is that Live Upgrade with ZFS does the patching by using ZFS snapshot. For example, if you do the patching to a live system (which is supported with Live Upgrade!) and the application running on the zone is storing its data on the same file system where zone's root is, the application's data might be out of date after you reboot the machine using the new BE that was created by Live Upgrade.

  • Common Functional Location Question

    Hi
In my Clients senario there are many functional locations. Now in his functional locations the work is carried out by various Maintenace Groups like ELE / MEC / INST.
All these Departments have there Own Work Centres & Cost Centres. Now the problem is
    1. What costcentre is to be maintained in functiona location master. ( Coz order are created on these common functional locations) what does SAP Recomends.
    2. The requirements is that if Electrical Depatment creates an Order on these locations then the Cost to be captured in Electrical department cost centre similarly for other departments.
    regards
    Sabyasachi

    Hi Pete
I went across some of the customer sites, where they are using SAP PM....
According to the Question of this thread...
They dont have different cost center or work center... they have only one cost center and one Work center...
All the maintenance cost (ELE,MECH or INST) will be clubbed into one Cost center and it is assigned to the G/L accoutn....
Work center also common.... Since its all internal cost comes from the work center for the employees.. they said... the cost is common for all..
But... this scenario is different from others.. like Separate cost center or work center...
Once the notification is created... the person.. should know, who is gonna take the job... if its mech or elec or both... there is a issue in criticality of the work ur gonna take.. if its a shaft problem.. then its purely mech.. if its motor problem its elect... even though both the depts have work.. but some one will have high criticality... he has to use the particular work center.,,,
Then in the order... u need to enter the operations with different work centers... so u will be getting the cost of both the work center...
For equipment, i think one cost center is enough.. since it will take all the cost... sinc ein one order u cannot give two or three cost centers... am i rite....

  • WiFi router location question.

When you move your wifi router and it shows the old address how does it learn the new address. Can you speed up the process or does it just take time ?
See also a similar question to help another person. Thank you. Happy New Year.
Hi, I have recently moved home and changed my details in my Apple ID but when using find friends or the maps app I am still located at my previous address, can you help ?

If you have the WiFi-only iPad (which does not have GPS) your location is determined by the mapped location of nearby WiFi routers.
Without GPS location-finding is done by using a Apple location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured.
The Apple database is built and updated by Apple GPS-enabled devices (primarily iPhones) actually seeing routers and then adding/updating the router's locations into the database. Apple does not provide an user-accessible interface to manually update the database.
Note that to be used for location determination, a device does not need to be actually connected to a router, it just has to see the router. More precise location determination can be done if several nearby routers can be seen. When a router is moved from one location to another erroneous locations can sometimes be reported until the router's location is corrected in Apple's database.

  • Family Locator Question

Is there any way to stop the automatic text message to the phone that is being located with family locator? I would rather not have my kids know that I am wondering where they are.

Bergybox, family locator is such a great monitoring tool for children. I understand why you wouldn't want them to know when they are being located. Due to privacy laws, we have to notify the user of that phone that they are being located. You can set the option to notify them without requiring their consent, but they still have to be alerted.
Let me know if you have further questions on Family Locator.

  • Page navigation tab location question!!!

how do i change the location of the page navigation link tabs, currently on the top of the page, to the left hand side?

You can't do it in iWeb. All you can do is deselect the showing of the navigation menu in Inspector, and then create your own vertical nav bar wherever you want it. Here is an example of a webpage with a 'homemade' vertical navigation pane.

  • OWB 10.2 and RAC - workflow location question

    Hi,
2 node RAC 10.1.0.5 on windows installed, OWB 10.2 installed on both nodes. WF 2.6.3 installed.
Workflow with wait activity succeds and fails depending on the workflow location setup:
    a) WF location defined via host port service pointing at one node(which is what I do NOT want), workflow executes and waits for 120 sec's I have specified.
    b) WF location defined via tnsnames(which is what I want, since I'm running RAC and want to be able to benefit from failover), workflow executes but fails with a

In this setup I had to enable WF_LOCAL_LANGUAGES for Denmark(DK) or else I would not be able to deploy the workflow.
It seems that localisation information in case b) is not picked up from the database as it is in the case of a).
When I change localisation on the rac servers to English(America) case b) works again. However I do not want to have the server localised to English(America) because it affects a lot on the servers(dates, times comma dot and so on).
So I tried adding locale settings in the registry for the owb and the database home - but no luck.
Please anybody any ideas? I do not want to pinpoint my locations to a single rac node!!!
    Best regards,

    Hi Oleg,
I've run this query and it returned nothing.
    If I executed "+select * from WF_RESOURCES+" I get the following result:

  • Saplogon.ini file location question

Hi, any advice would be appreciated thanks
we have rolled the sap gui 6.40 to all our clients - all using a local copy of the saplogon.ini file in the local windows directory. however we wish to change this approach and have a central saplogon.ini file on a file server and point all the clients to this file.. any changes only then have to be made in one place.
can anyone help me with this, firstly is it possible, and if so how to change the client setting to adjust the location.
    many thanks.

    Hi thanks for your link.
The document you pointed me towards led me to SAP note number 756686
which explains that you can edit the SAP icon on your desktop (by right-clicking and opening with notepad) and then adding a line cmd="/ini_file='path to ini file'\saplogon.ini'
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • Album Artwork message question

I'm in the process of uploading many CDs to iTunes and I selected the "Do not show this message again" button on the Artwork for "Artist - Album" could not be found. I cannot see where to re-enable this. Is this possible?
    Thanks in Advance

A number of these messages that can be turned off cannot be turned on again except by deleting your preference files, I assume this is one of them.
Deleting the preference files takes ALL your preferences back to their default values, so watch out if you have set any special preferences.
You don't say which operating system you are using, but assuming it is windows, the following articles about something else contain instructions for removing the preference files:
    XP version
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
    Vista version

  • Album Artwork Folder Question

    Hello.
I have iTunes set to have all of my music files on an external harddrive. I also use Backup to backup my iTunes settings to my Dot Mac account. I've noticed that I am routinely running out of space on my backup folder and decided to see what was going on. I discovered the "Album Artwork" folder on my local harddrive and realized that it was over 300 MB in size and that this was the problem.
I have searched through the forum and saw that people recommended using Doug's "Embed Artwork" AppleScript. Before I install the script I just wanted to find out if after running it the files in the "Album Artwork" folder will be deleted or if I will have to delete them manually after running the script.
    Thanks.
    PowerBook G4/1.67GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You can use the script from Doug, but if you're tight on space, that won't help in your situation.
Instead of only one picture for an entire album, a picture will be embedded in every track of that album.
Every track with embedded artwork will increase in size, consuming a lot more space in total than a picture stored in the 'Album Artwork' folder.
Once the picture is embedded in all associated files, iTunes should remove the one in the 'Download' folder, but in my experience doesn't always do that.
You might also take a look inside the 'Album Artwork' folder.
The 'Download' folder contains the artwork downloaded from the 'iTunes Store'.
The 'Local' folder contains the pictures which are used for the 'Cover Flow' feature. These are duplicates of other pictures and stored there for quick access. This folder can be much larger in size than the 'Download' folder. and does not need a backup in my opinion.
If you delete the 'Download' folder, iTunes will create a new one on the next run and store pictures in it again when using 'Cover Flow'.
If you try this, you will notice that it behaves rather sluggish the first time (when you have a lot of embedded artwork), because it has to get all pictures from the music files. iTunes then stores a copy in the 'Local' folder for quick access.
