Artwork messed up

Hey guys im having this issue with my recently bought iPod Touch 4G...all of a sudden some artworks started mixing up and some appear just a half and a half of another one...what can it be?? any suggestion other than restoring the device( cause it won't solve the issue) ??

Edit: sometimes when the image is cut into 2 separate artworks...one half is the correct one and the other seems to be the preview of the genius playlists..

Hi Greg,
The first thing to try might me an iPod reset. To do this, press and hold both the menu and the center "click" button together for about six seconds. You will know when you have held them long enough because you will see an Apple logo.
After you see the Apple logo let go and wait for the iPod to return to the opening menu. Hopefully that should sort it. If not there are other things we can try.

P.S. It would be useful if you could put some info about your computer, particularly the OS, since procedures are different for Windows and Macs.

Artwork messed up in Album view iPod app

Hi all,
Ever since about a week, the artwork for my music in Album view is completely messed up.
The pictures show up in all different sizes covering up other albums, which I cannot open anymore.

Tried rebooting / restarting the iPod app / giving iPad a 'hard reset (home + power button)' but the issue is still persisting and gets really annoying.
Any advice on this?

I have an Ipod touch 5th g.
After upgrade to ios7, it went all insane - I could not sync it with my iTunes. I was "okay, major upgrade, let's reset it".
After reset, everything went fine til now (I reset device on 20th september or so, it makes about 3 months).
Today, after morning re-sync, my album artworks (&some artist artworks) are messed up.
Most of my music is from iTunes store. Some (15%) is from my old CDs.
What should I do?
Reset is an option, but it stinks (e.g.: any iDevice is a thing that supposed to 'just work')

Well okay, I've unsynced/synced the device and waited a week.
For most time it was O.K., however after 2nd purchase my album art is all messed up again.
Unsyncing again.. Feeling somewhat strange.

Album artwork mess

I recently upgraded my computer's hard drive. When I moved my iTunes info over and had to reformat my iPod because of the move I lost a lot of album artwork. I never used an outside source. All artwork was grabbed using iTunes.
I have incorrect artwork for albums that was correct before the move. Example: The cover for The White Stripes "Elephant" album that was correct before the move shows artwork for "Elephant Art" by The Nyquist Emergency.
Before the move I had the artwork for Robbie Williams' "The Ego Has Landed" and now I do not.
Is there anyway I can fix this (using iTunes)? I'm a bit miffed.

The itunes store database for artwork gets messed up from time to time. For a while, Led Zeppelin "Mothership" was listed under artist name = Lead Zeppelin, and the only way to get the artwork from iTS was to change your tags so the Artist Name was Lead Zeppelin, get the art, and change the artist back to the correct spelling.
Apple has since fixed that one, but other Led Zep covers are bringing back the wrong art.
Funny you should mention White Stripes. I have been unable to get iTS artwork for +Get Behind Me Satan+ and +White Blood Cells+ for ages. They worked OK today.
But when I DLd artwork for Elephant, I also got artwork from The Nyquist Frequency, same as you! So their database is messed up.
You have 2 options:
1) Use itunes menu > Help > Provide iTunes Feedback and tell them the artwork is broken. Leave your artwork blank. Wait for them to fix it by periodically checking. They will never email you, and it might take months.
Like I mentioned, I added some White Stripes albums. That was back in September. iTS did finally have the correct artwork today for them...it's not like I've been checking every day or anything. Who knows when they fixed it!
2) Get it someplace else on the web and paste it into the artwork box.
The iTS DL'd artwork goes in a special folder on your PC....on XP it is
C:\Documents and Settings\ username \My Documents\My Music\Album Art
Vista is a similar, but shorter path.
So when you changed your hard drive, that folder was probably lost.
Along with your itunes ITL database file, and that is why you had to erase your iPod as well, since it was not the same itunes library file as before.

How to fix the iOS 6 artwork mess on iPod Touch 4th Gen? I'm desperate now!

Okay. So this has been going on for a while and I've finally reached a dead end. Since the update to iOS 6 my musical updates to my iPod Touch have been painful and annoying. Whenever I try to upload new songs to my device, almost everytime iTunes fetches the wrong artwork for them. Basically, I manage my iPod manually by draggind and dropping. Before I upload new songs I use MediaMonekey to add artworks to the ID3 tags. This has worked like a charm for years. Until the dreadful iOS 6 update came out. Since then in order to get the correct artwork I had to upload and delete the songs or albums several times before iTunes could get them right. There came a point when I became too frustrated to do this every time I updated my library, so I decided to look for a solution. I googled my issue and found out that I was not the only one with it. The most common solution was to get all of your library wiped out and then reupload it again or something like that. I was desperate enough to try it. To my dismay, it did not work. Even when everything was wiped off, iTunes still managed to get half of the artwork wrong for the songs I uploaded.
So, I come here, hoping that someone will be able to offer a solution that will be able to make me manage and update my library like I used to without any hiccups.

Confirm that you have the latest version of iTunes. It's 11.02 for the Mac. I don't know about Windoze.
Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Nano + iTunes 7 = Messed up Album Art

when I updated to itunes 7 my album art now is messed up. About one of five of every piece of album art is just a bunch of random colored pixels.
Anyone else experiencing bugs like this?
I am running the latest version of the updater. It also occurs when I use the previous version of updater (which I've had to do to get my audio books to function without hangs (another bug).
I'm hoping these get addressed in the next versions of iTunes and the updater. I love my nano, esp when it is functioning smoothly.

Is the artwork messed up in iTunes, on your iPod, or both?
Also, the iPod Updater doesn't really exist anymore. The iPod Updater is built into iTunes. So, when you connect your iPod up to your computer, update its software through iTunes.

NEW Album Artwork Problem and MORE!

Once I puchased a laptop, I attempted to copy the library on my main computer to the laptop. This worked fine. The problrms arose once I synced my Ipod to my new laptop. After I synced it, alot of the album artwork is not correctly positioned. What I mean by this: the artwork is with the correct songs, etc. but the actual artwork is all whackey. For example, instead of the artwork having the correct, individual sizes, they are in the same black box no matter what the size of the artwork, meaning artwork that is tall and wide is missing the top and bottom with black boxes on the sides.
That is the best I can explain that.
Another problem arose when I attempted to update my ipod. I got an error (-43) when I updated it on my laptop. After it failing over and over again, I just moved back my stuff from the laptop to the main computer to update it there. Now after I sync it to the main computer, the album artwork is still garbage and glitchy on my ipod. Moreover, I am still getting the error (-43) message.

So now im thinking, "well, i'm going to have to save my library somewhere else and sync the ipod without a library." What makes me reluctant is if I move my library, which has the album artwork messed up, will it stay like that after the update considering the music is not being updated with it?
Well, this *****. I have no idea what to do. Why must iTunes have so many problems?

Well, It updated and synced fine. The album artwork sizes were fixed too!
But now the artwork looks add like the pixles are not set in properly....
Oh well.

IPod classic podcast download problem

How can I redownload my podcasts which disappeared the last time I synced my iPod Classic 160gb?

I think i fixed the problem something i didn't want to do, but i tried unchecking each artist and removing them from the ipod and check them back and put them back on the ipod i also reset my ipod but none of that still didn't work so i decided to restore my ipod something i didn't want to do because i have so much music and put everything back on my ipod and that seem to work so just have to see how long it stay like that before the artwork get screwed up again which i hope not.
so if anyone else is having the same problem with the artwork messed up on your ipod just restore your ipod, it worked for me.

Illustrator pdf graphic problems

Hi All,
I have a file which I need to send to a printer as locked pdf, but am having problems with my graphics saving correctly.
The magazine I am publishing in cannot be trusted to not tinker with the artwork (messed up last 2 years advertisements mucking around with layout), hence trying to make this as secure as possible.
I have created some cartoon like clouds and when I save the artwork as pdf they have pencil thin grid lines all over them, as if they have been broken up into large square shapes in the save process.
Strangely, if I flatten the artwork in Illustrator I get the same result.
Any ideas?

Do the clouds involve transparency and/or raster effects? If so, you are probably seeing the onscreen antialiasing where the resulting raster images abut after you Flatten.
Turn off antialised display in Prefs and see if the "gridlines" go away.

Multiple entries in Calendar

Is anyone else having this problem?
My contacts are fine, but I noticed multiple entries in my Calendar on my Touch iPod. In the past, I've seen multiple entries with iCal (I think it came from being synced with my blackberry and/or .mac - but it seems to be working fine for the past month or so), but iCal looks fine.
It's really bizarre, because it almost looks like the further you go back in time, the more duplications for an event (reoccurring) are found. If you try and Delete an occurrence on the iPod, it only allows you to delete from that point forward - but ones from the previous year/month are still there. The starting date for an occurence on the iPod is always on the day you are checking, so it's not like it's set to the first time you entered it or something so you can't go back to the first instance.
ALSO.
I noticed that some all day events span over to the following day on the iPod, but are fine in iCal.

You know - now that you mentioned it - I did see a WHOLE lotta dos - but didn't think anything of it.
I've since restored the thing and elected to not sync the calendar.
One thing that did get fixed - was mix-matched album artwork... podcasts, music, even videos were all getting their album artwork messed up - 1.1.2 seems to have fixed that... mind you... I've had to do a factory restore so many times because of this bloody calendar thing; perhaps I should give it more time before I declare that part is ok.

Who's been messing with my album artwork?

I have recently bought Cubis 2 for my 80gb video iPod. Before, I also bought zuma and minigolf. No problems with the latter. However, when I loaded cubis on my pod, a bunch of my album artwork went missing. I am very frustrated with this. An explanation of why and how to fix this would be wonderful.

Try these in order. If one doesn't work, go the the next.
1: reset your iPod (hold down center + menu keys until the Apple logo appears)
2: In iTunes remove all of your songs, than re-transfer them back to your iPod
3: Reformat you iPod (under iTunes)
Also, just make sure that you have album art, and only 1 piece of album art (you can do this by right clicking and selecting get info, then under artwork, either add or remove).

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

My iTunes album artwork is messed up big time!

Suddenly, almost all of the album artwork for my albums in iTunes library on my iMac is incorrect! The wrong album artwork is displayed for almost all albums in my iTunes library. I'm using iTunes Match, which may have caused the problem, because I never had a problem like this prior to iTunes Match. I've tried disabling then re-enabling iTunes Match, and the album art is still foobar.
Oddly, I have a MacBook Pro which on which I'm using iTunes Match, and all of the (same) albums artwork appear correct.

I had this problem. I found if you turn iTunes Match off on your iPod/iPad/iPhones then sync the device to itunes. Uncheck Sync Music then click sync. This will remove all your music (i guess you knew that ), now go back to your iOS device and turn iTunes Match back on. After about 5 mins or so (well it was in my case) all your songs and art work will be as it should...
The only downside to this is you will have to download form the cloud all the songs you want to take with you
I can only guess that Apple thought we would stream most of our music and not keep it on our devices?
I just wish Apple would be more clearer on the workings of Itunes Match, its a very good service but not having clear instuctions leaves many to write it off as a bad idea.... as I almost did.

Importing illustrator artwork into Flash (without all the 'mess')

This isn't really a problem, more so that I am just "fussy". My friend and I are working on a game. He is producing the artwork in illustrator. I want to keep the artwork in vector format so it scales well on different devices (so exporting as a bitmap is not an option). When I import his illustrator files in Flash, it ends up making thousands of symbols in the library and it's making the interface in flash sluggish, not to mention it just looks messy. (I am aware I could group the symbols into a seperate folder in Flash but that doesn't help the sluggish problem much).
My question is what can I do to make all the illustrator artwork import as shapes and lines instead of complete graphic symbols (which I don't want because it's messy, even if I do group them into folders in the library, it may appear tidier but I know that they are still there and created as symbols and that will bother me anyway). I will be making flash cache the objects as bitmaps for better runtime performance, but that's besides the point. I don't want flash to feel bogged down or unresponsive when I minipulate things and I like things tidy and effecient.
I know what I am asking is possible, for example if you open Flash and draw a few shapes with the pen or any other tool, they don't appear in the library. You can then group all the shapes together as one big "graphic" or "movie clip" by converting it to what you desire. This is nice and efficient and you have just 1 object in the library instead of a "symbol" for every little shape.

Hello Gentlemen,
I'm also importing .ai files from Illustrator into Flash, collapsing the layers in the flash import window and selecting the entire group as one layer, then importing as a movie clip directly into the library, not the stage.
When I look at my Library, I have all of my movie clips (though they are missing the "mc_" label I had named each with, but there was also a separate folder created for each one, with another folder inside labelled, "Layer 1" and inside that is "Layer 1". Some of them also include a file named <Mesh>.
Is this because I selected the entire folder to import and then named each individually as they came in? Can I get rid of the folders and just keep the movie clips, or are those support files?
