I am running Itunes 7.02 and XP. When selecting "Get Album Artwork" it displays a message that the missing artwork is being updated but still nothing appears for those album.
The artwork shows just fine for items purchased at the online store. I have also selected Auto download album art but to no avail. I'm logged into my itunes account and have an active internet connection so I can't figure out the issue.

  • Podcast artwork not downloading

    Hi, everyone.
I'm having problems with podcast artwork not showing up. I normally download my podcasts through iTunes, and for several feeds, album art shows up in the iTunes Store but isn't embedded in the files I download.
I always figured that the providers were just somehow not embedding the art in the individual files, but then I noticed that when I download the files directly from my iPhone, they show up just fine. To test it out, I tried two copies of the same file -- one downloaded directly to the phone and another synced from iTunes -- and got the same result: one with album art, one without.
Any idea what's going on here?
    Thanks,
    --Brian

Also have this problem - Even after vigorous Menu>Get Album Artwork attempts. My Podcasts look like empty tabs with zero differentiation between each other...
Come on Apple, stop treating podcast talent like chode, they're one of the only things keeping you guys from having to totally overhaul the iTunes app... how is that going by the way? I guess we'll all just keep jumping over to Spotify until you get that one figured out... Better hope they don't dig into podcasts too =/
Jokes aside, I love iTunes, but it really need the artwork to complete the experience, eh?

  • Album Artwork not downloading

    Hiya,
I recently had to re-install iTunes Version 7 after a computer failure. I installed the the software and restored all my tunes and the album art work for all tunes, including those added from CD downloaded automatically. I hadnt downloaded these before as I had been using an old version of iTunes.
However, the system will now not download any album artwork for tunes added from CD. I have checked the help files, made the correct settings on iTunes and have also checked that the CD's Iam adding are available iStore and it should be working.
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Regards
    Mark

Actually no it doesn't, but when I do a search from iTunes I can find the Album just fine. I've copied the info from iTunes and did a Copy/Paste into the correct fields in my Library. No misspellings or anything.
Here's one of the album/artist I'm having trouble getting the album cover for.

  • ITunes artwork not downloading with file and tab blanked out.

The last 4 items I have downloaded from iTunes (tv Shows and Movies) are not coming with any album art.  As the TV shows are on season pass its only the latest episodes that don't have artwork.
Also the artwork tab is greyed out on the Get Info screen.
Gettin art work via menu does not work.
Anyone else having this problem? or know a fix?
    Thanks

    thomas200,
Not a lot of joy, but here is what I have discovered.
I have been having this problem for about a month as well.  Video files downloaded from iTunes have no album art or account info and the artwork tab is greyed out.
My library is stored on a QNAP NAS. When I download any video file everything looks fine until the end when 'processing file' occurs. This will take only a second on any faulty file yet 4/5 or more sec when everything is working.
I have created a new library with files being stored on the hard drive of my mac and tried down loading a free tv episode.  This works fine.
So I feel like I am narrowing the problem to my itunes library or the NAS (which had a software upgrade in april)
I'll post if I find out anything more.

  • Artwork not downloading - iTunes not even trying!

I ripped Ryan Adams's (excellent) album Easy Tiger tonight. When I tried to download the art from the iTunes Store, iTunes thought about it for a little bit, then stopped. I assumed (wrongly) that the album doesn't exist in the iTS. I checked though, and there it is. So I tried again. This time the "Getting Album Artwork" blipped by in a fraction of a second, and I still had no artwork.
Trying it a third time yielded the same result, with iTunes giving NO indication that it was even TRYING to get the artwork. It will refuse to fetch ANY artwork at this point.
Things you might want to know:
MacBook, iTunes 7.5, MacOS 10.4.10. I repaired the permissions and it still does this. The library in question is on an external drive, but this has not been an issue. This is a fresh install of the OS (and I'm sticking with 10.4.10 on purpose) though the library in question is itself rather old. I'll rebuild it if need be. Can anyone tell me how to preserve ratings and playcounts as well as the dates tracks were added to the library?
    Many thanks!

The tags for the album may not match exactly what the iTunes Store has — an extra space or capitalized letter can throw it off. If you have an album that you know iTunes can find artwork for, try deleting its existing art and seeing if iTunes will find album art for it again. If it does, you'll know there's something off in your Ryan Adams tags.

  • Album artwork and song names do not download. How do I get this to download.  Submitting is not working

album artwork and song names do not download. How do I get this to download.  Submitting is not working

    Hello!
I own a small company and we are having the same problems.
IE9 is not working with the latest flash update infact the update has messed up flash complety for all sites once installed.  I went to YouTube eariler and it warned that I needed to install to the new Flash Player upon instaling and returning to YouTube it had the same message. This led us to download both the x86 and x64 versions and useing the uninstaller went through each one and tried the updates. None of the downloadable updates from Adobes site works. I have also loaded up Windows XP in a virtual machine and trying IE 8 with the latest updates and it as well does not work and does the same thing upon updateing it just keeps saying to install the latest update allthough it has allready been done!
Now on the other hand I loaded FireFox and it had the same update and upon restarting the browser after applying the update and it works just fine!
Im on a Windows 7 x64 Ultimate box and ran the WindowsXP in the VM. FireFox was loaded on the main OS and worked fine after said update.
Of Course I have allready double checked the running addons in IE 9 and the files within the /system32/ and all the flash files go there (x86 and x64 were differnt named files)
Im guessing there is something conflicting betwen IE (IE 8 and 9 tested)
Now this is not just happining on this machine but all of our desktops and laptops no one has any trouble with FireFox working
Also this will break all flash objects in IE even localy as now no flash works it acts like it is not installed.
Guess will see how long this takes to get fixed or aknowledged...  lol

  • Album artwork does not download, album artwork does not download

i have windows 7 album artwork does not download even new stuff what could be happening?

It's possible your album artwork isn't there and cannot be obtained as this album no longer appears to be offered for purchase by itunes.  Unless I'm overlooking it, when I go to the itunes store and enter "Santana", "Carlos Santana", or "Food For Thought", nothing comes up.  I'm thinking if this is an album no longer for sale through itunes, then you won't be able to get that album artwork the way previously have.  Unfortunately, I'm not saavy enough to know if it's possible to get the album artwork via another means.  But maybe someone else reading this post is.

  • ITunes 11.1 not downloading artwork for albums only on icloud

Since updating to 11.1 some more of my artwork seems to be missing. The get album artwork is only getting artwork for downloaded music. If I right click on an album without artwork which is not downloaded and click get album artwork nothing happens. This works fine once at least 1 song of the album has been downloaded. I'm on a mac with mountain lion if that's any help. Any ideas?

Okay, found it.  In iTunes 11.1, in the left column, under Libraries: click on Podcasts
Find "settings" at the bottom of the frame. The Automatically Download needs to be set to "Most Recent."  If it's set to "off" then the podcast will be available in the cloud to pull down individually.

  • Artwork not showing up in iTunes?

    Hey everyone,
I just submitted a podcast for approval last night and it was approved this morning. Most of the information is showing correctly in the iTunes store, but the 300X300 jpg image I set up in libsyn is not showing as album artwork in the store yet. Also, the file will play streaming, but will not download to completion to my account.
Are these issues something that's typical of a new podcast? I've checked out my feed in RSS feed validator and everything checks out.

Thank you for any advice you can provide.
    Josh

Since writing the above I've spent a few minutes playing about with iWeb. When you create a podcast, and click on the main podcast page (rather than the episodes) you should see a placeholder for the description and for an image in the top section (above the episode listing). Dragging a suitable image into the placeholder space did in my case create the correct 'itunes:image' tag required for iTunes to display it on the Store page.
You have an image there, so you have evidently done this. However I notice that it's a .png - in theory iTunes should accept both jpegs and pngs; your png contains an alpha channel so I wondered whether iWeb was baulking at it and not creating the tag.
Subject to any suggestions you get if you post in the iWeb forum, I can only suggest that you try replacing the existing image with a jpeg, which ideally should be 600x600px (though iWeb may limit you as to that).
If you do this, it may take some time for iTunes to update - new episodes normally appear in 1-2 days, but for some reason images can take a lot longer.

  • HT1688 iTunes Match is not downloading properly to my iPhone.

iTunes Match is not downloading properly to my iPhone.  I removed some songs from the cloud and it has not sent some songs to my iPhone and a lot of my artwork is not coming down.  I have tried to turn it on and off in iTunes, updated to Match and restarted the computer and phone.  Nothing works.  I just began using Match.  What am I doing wrong?  How do I fix this?

  • Album artwork not getting on my iPod nano?!

I tried everything to get my artwork to show up on my iPod nano. I read every topic in the forums about it and I did what people said to do and it still isnt showing up. The album artwork shows up in iTunes but not on my iPod. Can anyone help me?

    Cheers,
same here. I have downloaded artwork to iTunes and after that synced music to iPod (nano 4g) manually. But artwork doesn't show either when playing the music or in the coverflow. Don't even know whether the artwork was downloaded to iPod (is there a way to check this?) Seems to be so common problem, so hopefully Apple fixes this or gives instructions how to fix it.

  • ITunes U Collection artwork not displaying?

I was recently troubleshooting an issue where some of our iTunes U Collection's artwork were not displaying correctly,  represented by the generic iTunes U thumbnail. I then discovered the GIF image format is no longer supported http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/DZR.woa/wa/viewSeeAll?frId=13264121237549&id= 421324250&id=421324250 so I replaced the GIF formatted artwork with PNG formatted artwork for 68 Collections and Episodes, updated the feeds, waited a week to discover all have been resolved except two Collections still displaying the generic iTunes U artwork http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/DZR.woa/wa/viewSeeAll?frId=13264121237549&id= 421324250&id=421324250.
The two Collections in question are:
    • Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Sciences - http://itunes.apple.com/au/itunes-u/faculty-engineering-industrial/id421324755 feed from RSS http://www.commons.swinburne.edu.au/feeds/podcast_ID34.xml
    • Faculty of Design - http://itunes.apple.com/au/itunes-u/faculty-of-design/id421324727 feed from RSS http://www.commons.swinburne.edu.au/feeds/podcast_ID37.xml
I can see from the iTunes U Public Site Manager the questionable Collections are using the updated PNG file now. I can also see this issue and the like has been raised in the iTunes U - Apple Support Communities
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/13386384#13386384
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/12457068#12457068
but I see no solutions or recent comments.
I have now found some Episodes associated to the above two Collections with JPG formatted artwork not displaying correctly via iTunes U on iOS?
Anyone got any suggestions to resolve these issues?

Thank you for your answer. But you know what; I think that the artwork is embeded with every iTunes collection, otherwise it wouldn't be shown at the iTunes store.
I think the problem is with how iTunes handles downloaded collections. Apple has to do some work on iTunes, now that they are promoting iTunes U.

  • Album art not downloading

I updated both Macs in our house with the Apple security update this evening and the latest version of iTunes as software update prompted us to do this at the same time. I have purchased songs on both computers since (iBook G4 and iMac G5 both running 10.4.5) Songs download normally and play fine on either computer - I have n't tried with an iPod yet - but no artwork is downloaded. Clicking on information shows they are recognised as protected files though. On the iBook the songs did n't even show up on the purchased list though they are in the library! I wonder if excess zeal to prevent malicious code opening from picture files, given the recent security scares about this, may be to blame?
    iMac G5 2Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

i bought some songs yesterday and they didn't come with the artwork either.
Until yesterday, I only bought complete albums, which came with the artwork, but artwork does not come with single tracks as far as I know.
    I could be wrong though.
If you transferred them to another computer, they don't show up in the 'Purchased' playlist. They only show up in the 'Purchased' playlist on the computer you purchased them.
Artwork files are not executable. I don't think the recent 'security issues' are to blame.
You can get the artwork doing the following:
Navigate to the album on the iTMS, which you purchased songs from.
Control-click on the name of the album.
Select 'Copy iTunes Music Store URL'
    Click on this link
Paste the URL in the 'iTunes Album URL:' filed and submit.
    Choose small or large.
Drag the picture to the artwork pane in iTunes.
If you have purchased more songs from the same album, select them in iTunes and Get Info. Drop the artwork in the 'Artwork' field.
    Hope this helps.

  • Artwork not modifiable, how to change this?

I just downloaded a free song off of a website using Firefox. I chose "open with iTunes". The song went straight o my iTunes and is playing fine.
Only problem is that there is no artwork. It says 'artwork not modifiable'.
**When I right click and choose "get info" everything is "locked" or something and I'm not allowed to edit anything.
The file is a "MPEG audio file".
What's the problem and how do I fix it?

    Hey there,
Locate the file in explorer. When you find it, right->click the file name and choose Properties from the Menu. Make sure that +Read Only+ is not check at the bottom of the window that pops up. See if that helps.
