Artwork not showing up in track info

I upgraded to iTunes 6 yesterday, from iTunes 5. And now my artwork does not show up under the summary tab when I do a "Get Info" on a song. It does not show up under the "Artwork" tab either. However, when I play the song, the artwork is displayed in the box in the bottom left corner. And on my iPod, the artwork is also displayed. Anybody experienced anything similar?
There has been a similar request on the forum before, but it didn't give any answer:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=822632

I had just defragged my hard drive before I noticed this problem, could there be a connection?
Doesn't seem very likely that there is any connection, no. artwork is stored inside the file's tag itself, it's part of the music file, so defragging wouldn't make any difference, really.
And it reads the artwork from the same place for both that bottom left corner thing and for the artwork tab in Get Info. So I find it very odd that you'd see it in one place but not the other.
There have been cases where having outdated DirectX and/or video drivers will cause things to look weird (disappear rating stars, etc) in the dialog boxes but okay in the main iTunes application. You might try upgrading your video drivers and/or reinstalling the latest DirectX (9.0c, I believe).

  • Why is my iPhone 4S not showing my caller Id info while I'm a call

Why is my iPhone 4S not showing my caller Id info while I'm a call?

As in the manual page 49:
Call forwarding, call waiting, and caller ID
The following information applies only to GSM networks. For CDMA networks, contact your carrier for information about enabling and using these features. See support.apple.com/kb/HT4515.
Turn call forwarding on or off: Go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding. The Call Forwarding icon ( ) appears in the status bar when call forwarding is on. You must be in range of the cellular network when you set iPhone to forward calls, or calls won’t be forwarded. FaceTime calls are
    not forwarded.
Turn call waiting on or off: Go to Settings > Phone > Call Waiting. If you’re on a call and call waiting is turned off, incoming calls go directly to voicemail.
Turn caller ID on or off: Go to Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID.

  • New Beatles albums - track names and artwork not showing up in iTunes 9.0

Has anyone else bought the new Beatles remastered CDs and tried to import into iTunes 9.0?
All that shows up is Track 1, Track 2 etc and no album art.
Is this due to there being video on these albums too and how can one deal with this issue?

It is because they have not yet been added to the database that is used to provide the track information.
When you insert a CD into your computer and it appears in iTunes, the iTunes software connects to a database and looks for the track names for the CD. If it finds the CD in the database the track names are downloaded and use to tag the music.
The album art on the other hand is provided by the iTunes Music Store, so if an album is not available in the iTunes Store than you cannot get the album art for it. As the Beatles are not yet available in the iTunes Store you will not get the album art.

  • Can't get album cover artwork to show on all tracks

Some time ago I used MPFreaker to download album cover artwork for all (almost) the tracks I have in iTunes.
I've just bought a 20Gb colour iPod and it only shows the artwork for the occasional track. Even where within a complete album, the artwork only shows for one or two tracks, if that.
What am I doing wrong? I tried the trick of switching off 'Display artwork' and then switching it back on again but, if anything, that's made it worse - there are less tracks with artwork.
    Cheers
    Phil

Pablo, I would follow the suggestion of Dave W. I use his method and everything works fine on my Ipod. All my Album art shows(5000+ songs). His restore suggestion is great too. Also, make sure you have the latest versions of the Itunes and Ipod software.
Also, there are different ID tags that MP3 files use. Some tagging methods may not be wholely compatibile with the Ipod, or the tag might be corrupted. In this case you may try highlighting the song and converting the tag. There are a lot of tag options there.
Or, if you are using the MP4 format, you might have problems there too. I don't know that IPod's support the MP4 format. That doesn't mean it won't work most of the time. Good Luck.

  • Album artwork not showing in album tab

I don't know why but the album artowrk for one of my albums is not showing on my iPhone. Each individual song in the album has the artowrk, but it doesn't show up in the albums tab on the bottom of the music app. So in the albums tab where you can scroll through each album, the artowrk is missing. The album artowrk should be right next to the name of the album, but it just has that defualt musical note for stuff that doesn't have artowrk. I didn't download this album off of iTunes but I made sure the info for each song matched the info on iTunes. I get a little OCD when it comes to my music library, and I even deleted all the artwork for each song on the album, and redownloaded the artwork by right-clicking each song and clicking "Get Album Artowrk". Like I said, all the info matches the info on the iTunes store. Even when you view the album in cover flow it displays the album artowrk just fine, and when you play each individual song in the album you can see the artwork. Me being OCD about my music and all, it is just driving me crazy having that one album not have artwork while the rest of my albums do. I have never had this problem before and I just can't stand it.

Just a guess: make sure you have the album's name exactly the same, including capital letters in every song.
Also: you can select all songs from that album, right click, get info and change the album name for all songs at once, that should fix it.

  • ITunes album artwork not showing

I operate a college internet-only radio station.  The system we use is based on iTunes.
Each week, music distributors send me links to download new music.  On average, I load about 20 albums per week into the system.  The files are usually .zip files, and contain a .jpg for album artwork, a .pdf with band info, and a folder containing the .mp3 files for the songs.  I unarchive the .zip file, then click-and-drag the resulting folder into iTunes.
About 1/3 of the time, everything works as expected.  The music is copied into the iTunes library and the artwork appears as well.  The majority of the time, though, the artwork does not appear in iTunes.
I've scrutinized these files, and am unable to spot any difference between the ones that work and the ones that don't.  The heirarchy of the unarchived files and folders is the same, the images are roughly the same size.
I know how to go back in and add the artwork, but doing so for 15 albums each week is extra work I'd rather avoid.  Any ideas why it works so inconsistently, and how to rectify that?
    mahalo!
    Tom G

I'm not so sure, but I don't think you can turn off artwork unless you erase the image files from the files in the Get Info feature you get in the list you get when right-clicking on the music files, what can be done tho is to hide the features that show the artwork like the button to the right of the repeat button and the cover flow button next to the search bar.
I have the same problem but only with certain artwork, not all, I added images to all my files before and hardly ever did I get this problem, I usually added the same image or another image to make the cover flow "react", so to speak; the funny thing with my problem is that the files in question still have the artwork I put before in the Get info thingy, they appear whenever I see the info tab of then files, and when they're playing, the image shows at the bottom of the playlists list(above the repeat button and that), but the artwork doesn't show in the cover flow (-- =S ???--), no notifications show up about what's happening, and the image file I added is just a regular .JPEG of an album.
Now does this mean the iTunes is having some sort of behavior issues or it just fancies playing with me? =S

  • Album Artwork not showing up in Nano

I just got a Nano and I have been importing my CD's to iTunes so that I can put it on my Nano. I have manually put in the artwork for the albums, but they're still not showing up in my Nano. I see it in iTunes under my iPod when connected, but not on the actual iPod. I'm reading a lot about "syncing" with the computer, but I don't really understand what it means. Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Sony Vaio   Windows XP   Nano/Shuffle

    Hi,
'Syncing' just means plugging your nano in, and if everything is set to auto (usually this is how it comes straight out of the box) iTunes should fire up and copy your tracks to the nano.
Here is a link to the tutorial if you haven't already gone through it:
Add Song Information, Lyrics, and Artwork to My Tunes
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/tunes/2/#4
You shouldn't have to convert ID3 tags as far as I know.
I put the album art straight onto my iPod when it was connected to iTunes
Not sure if this is the problem - the Artwork goes on the track in iTunes first, then you sync (load) the tracks to the iPod.
The artwork becomes part of the mp3 file so it gets moved across to the iPod when you load your track.
If you are still having problems after going through all this then get back and we'll try work out what to do next.
You may want to do the restore step to set it back to factory conditions: The 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall & Restore

  • Artwork not showing after manual library restore

After my computer caught a virus and got reformatted, I reinstalled iTunes and simply copied my iTunes folder from a backup copy I made on an external hard drive to the My Music directory where it needs to be. Opened iTunes and the music is all there, but now the artwork does not show in Cover Flow mode. It is also "blacked out" when clicking on a song with "Get Info-Artwork"...just a black box in place of what was once a visual image of the artwork. I cannot find any options on any iTunes pull down menus to clear this up. I can't re-add the artwork....I just get a black box when i try to copy the JPG image file. Can anyone help?

Probably nothing. This is a known issue with the music app that will hopefully be addressed in iOS 6. Actually, some of the artwork may show up on your next synch.

  • Album artwork not showing - all prefs etc are set

hi - I just transferred all of my iTunes data from my pc to my new MBP. The music transferred fine, but the artwork is not showing. I logged in to the iTunes store, set prefs to auto download, did a manual download, & made sure all was set for art to show. Still just black boxes. Can someone please help?

What I have found since the most recent iTunes update is I will have the same problem on my 4G iPod not displaying the artwork for purchased tracks.
What I've found for me is that the artwork is there, it is just not being recognized on the song playing screen. Cycling through the options by pressing the "select" button while the song is playing forces the iPod to recognize the artwork when it attempts to display the full size version of the artwork. Then, when I cycle back to the song playing screen, the artwork is again visible.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the way iTunes no longer stores the album artwork downloaded from the store as part of the song file. Just a guess on my part.

  • Purchased TV and Movie artwork not showing in iTunes 10.6.1 when stored on a NAS drive

    Hi All
Having searched through the forums here and using Google to cast a wider net.
I am still struggling to see if there is a solution to the missing artwork of TV programmes or films missing when stored on a NAS drive.  All the TV programmes and movies have been purchased through the iTunes store.
The version of iTunes being used is the most recent (10.6.1).
The network drive is hardwired linked to the AirPort Extreme Base Station, this base station is also hardwire linked to the iMac.  The iTunes library resides upon a DROBO FS and has done since it filled the storage capabilities of the iMac.
TV and Films purchased before the migration of the library has the artwork, it is just films and programmes purchased since the migration that don't.
Clicking "Get Album Artwork" has no effect, the same is also true for manually adding the artwork to each episode through the "Get Info" "Artwork" option.  Although the "Get Info" route teases you with an apparent result only to have the artwork "vanish" when you save.
I have seen a solution that involves remapping the iTunes library to the iMac each time you want to download a TV programme or film and then remounting the NAS drive and consolidating the library again, http://www.online-tech-tips.com/mac-os-x/fix-missing-album-art-when-using-a-nas- with-itunes/
This doesn't strike me as much of a solution and doesn't address the TV programmes and films that have already been downloaded.
I am hoping someone in the community is aware of a solution or at least method that is a little more elegant than the one linked to above.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

The Apple TV 1 doesn't use homesharing.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • Album artwork not showing up on apple TV but does in iTunes

I have had some syncing issues with ATV but seem to have gotten things to sync (occasionally) but even when I am syncd only about 10 out of a few hundred albums display the artwork on ATV? Is this a syncing problem still or should I not expect the artwork to show up?

Same here.  It's been working just fine for months and suddenly last night (01/05/12) I no longer have any access to iTunes Store or Netflix from the main menu. My only choices are Internet, Computers, and Settings. And according to the settings, it still indicates that I am still signed-in to iTunes.

  • Artwork not showing up in iTunes?

    Hey everyone,
I just submitted a podcast for approval last night and it was approved this morning. Most of the information is showing correctly in the iTunes store, but the 300X300 jpg image I set up in libsyn is not showing as album artwork in the store yet. Also, the file will play streaming, but will not download to completion to my account.
Are these issues something that's typical of a new podcast? I've checked out my feed in RSS feed validator and everything checks out.
    http://rockcrushespaper.libsyn.com/rss
Thank you for any advice you can provide.
    Josh

Since writing the above I've spent a few minutes playing about with iWeb. When you create a podcast, and click on the main podcast page (rather than the episodes) you should see a placeholder for the description and for an image in the top section (above the episode listing). Dragging a suitable image into the placeholder space did in my case create the correct 'itunes:image' tag required for iTunes to display it on the Store page.
You have an image there, so you have evidently done this. However I notice that it's a .png - in theory iTunes should accept both jpegs and pngs; your png contains an alpha channel so I wondered whether iWeb was baulking at it and not creating the tag.
Subject to any suggestions you get if you post in the iWeb forum, I can only suggest that you try replacing the existing image with a jpeg, which ideally should be 600x600px (though iWeb may limit you as to that).
If you do this, it may take some time for iTunes to update - new episodes normally appear in 1-2 days, but for some reason images can take a lot longer.

  • Artwork not showing up on ipad

artwork in itunes not showing up on ipad for artists but is for albums how do you cure it

The music was matched perfect, just a few missing album covers were missing (I'm fussy that way)... after doing the little fix suggest by "Sansimeon" (notted below) they all came in perfect...I actually had my iPad on the iTunes Artist section and while I made the changes (I was doing that on my mac) the album covers poped up on the iPad, it was kind of cool!  I'm easily amused
As a follow-up note, I bought about 50 songs over the past 24 hours and all came in 100% with art... no more issues.
    Enjoy!

Got it fixed for the single songs, change the album artist to AAAA then clear the album artist and all is looking good.  worked each time

  • Album Artwork not showing!?

Ok, I know this question has been asked before, and answered. And this is happened to me before on my old 30gb IPod, but I just got the 32gb IPod Touch, and it happened yet again on this IPod. With my old IPod I fixed the problem by doing this:
    "This is how:
    1. Select your iPod in the Devices part of iTunes.
    2. Select the Music tab.
    3. Uncheck the "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
    4. Click Apply. The iPod will start to update.
    5. After all artwork is removed, check the previous checkbox again, and press
    apply. This should fix it!"
It worked on my old IPod, but I was going to do it with my new IPod, but I can't find the "Display album artwork on your iPod."
Where is it? I don't know where to find that setting anymore!

I'm also having this problem. I have an iPod 60G Video. The artwork was showing correctly on it until I updated the iPod software to 1.1. All of the artwork is showing correctly in iTunes, but none of it is showing on the iPod itself. I read in another iPod forum that if you go into the iPod options/preferences and uncheck, sync, recheck, sync the "Display album Artwork on you iPod" it has corrected the problem. However, with me, it has not.
I'm using iPod software 1.1 and iTunes 6.0.2.23. Apple support suggested that I restore my iPod and put everything back on. However with more than 7000 songs and several days worth of putting together the album artwork for all of it, I'm not exactly excited about having to redo it all.
    Please help!

  • Premiere not showing all audio tracks in video file?

    Hello,
The short version of my issue is that I am not seeing all audio tracks in my imported AVI video. I know they are there, but only one track is showing.
    Longer version:
I have an application called Action! that is used for recording games. There is a setting on this application that allows you to record your microphone as a separate audio track.  I made a 15 minute video using this. If i play this video in Action!'s media player, i can switch between my game track and my microphone track. If I play the video file in Windows Media Player, it plays both tracks. When I import this video file into Premiere (or Soundbooth) it only shows the Game track and not the microphone track. I cannot find a way to get to the microphone track. It just seems like it doesnt exist. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance
