Artwork on iPod Nano (3rd Gen)

Hey everyone, I just got a new iPod nano and when I transfered songs from my computer over to my iPod only some of the artwork appears, does anyone know what the problem is? I even have changed the pictures to no avail.

Are these for ones you added the artwork to manually? Sometimes they don't always make it to the iPod. Not sure why. One option is to plug in the iPod, go to the music tab, turn OFF the checkbox to show artwork on the iPod, sync iPod, then turn the option back on and re-sync.
However I have personally got it to work by simply re-syncing the album not showing the artwork. Since I have my iPod set to only sync checked songs, all I did was selected the album (select all tracks at the same time), right click, uncheck the bunch, sync iPod, right click, check the whole bunch again, re-sync, and then the artwork started to show properly on the iPod for that album (I didn't have to modify the artwork in iTunes at all).

  • My ipod nano 3rd gen gets error code -9459 when I try to convert a video in Itunes

I'm tring to convert video from Youtube to play on my ipod nano 3rd gen.  When i go to itunes and Advanced and set it to convert for ipod it goes on for quite a while then about 3/4 way done I get error message Erroe occurred converting file "teapot 1". An unknown error (-9459)
What do I do?  I tried Real player converter too - no luck.

I'm not sure about the error message, but it might just be easier to use an application such as Handbrake or MPEG Streamclip to create an iPod compatible version of the video.

  • Ipod nano 3rd Gen not recognized by itunes or windows 7

    USB device not recognized.
    things I have done
put Ipod in disk mode still didn't recognized
My Ipod Classic 6th Gen works fine
It shows 3 Mass Storage Device
when I plug in Ipod nano 3rd gen it shows unknow device
have deleted Mass storage devices and Apple Moble Devices
    unpluged computer from wall
    nothing solving problem
I also tried it on my laptop its not being recognized
my wife Ipod nano is doing the same thing as mine
its got to be the software download from itunes because it has worked on all previous versions.

I have the same problem. My Iphone 4s works fine when docked to PC. PC won't recognize my 3rd Gen Nano. Same goes for my Work PC. They don't recognize it nor will plugging it in to a PC charge it. I have to plug it into wall socket to charge.
I have tried resetting, I have tried downloading newest Itunes.
Must be the Nano itself if it doesn't get recognized by mutliple PCs?
I haven't used the Nano for probably 2 months. Previously it worked fine...
One thing, when docked to my laptop during a reboot/startup, it intially starts to charge the Nano, but once setup is finished it doesn't recognize it any longer...

  • IPOD NANO 3rd Gen problem Apple Mac set up PC BASED MAIN UNIT

I have been asked by a friend to help out because they asked to add music to their new IPOD. But the owner is a tech scared person. They gave the unit an IPOD NANO 3rd Gen to my friend who uses Apple MAC they set up the IPOD with their Itunes and added the songs.
Later they wanted new tracks but have now downloaded ITUNES to their own PC Windows Vista system. The tracks were added to a USB memory stick and transfered and added to the PC Vista ITUNES. But now the IPOD Nano will not register on the Windows Vista ITUNES system but will show up on the "My computer"
I have reset the nano by holding the on/off and menu etc to get the Apple logo, the unit beeps as does the laptop PC Based ITUNES etc but will still not register on the ITUNES or allow me to sync the music from the ITUNES to the IPOD.
Can anyone advise how I can reformat the IPOD or reset the IPOD and remove all music currently on it to start again but get it to register/set up and show on the ITUNES on the windows VISTA unit rather than the mac based system.
    Thanks,

  • My PC Shuts Down When I Plug In My New IPod Nano 3rd Gen.

The title of this post pretty much says it all. Got me my new iPod Nano 3rd gen. yesterday. Brought it home, booted up the puter, loaded iTunes and plugged that sucker in. Well first iTunes kindly instructed me that I would have to download it's newest software, which I did.
Then soon afterwards when I thought i was set, I plugged in my new 3rd gen iPod Nano to the pc and as soon as I did that my pc shut down completely, and restarted. Shut down is putting it mildly, I mean it just went 'kablink" and then was restarting.
I tried uninstalling iTunes, cleaning my temp folder, my internet cache, then reinstalling iTunes anew, still nada. All to no avail, people, because each and everytime I plug in my new iPod Nano, no sooner than i do this my pc summarily goes "kablink" on me and starts booting up again.
NOW I STILL have my iPod Nano 2nd gen, and it works fine, even with the newest iTunes software, it doesn't screw up my pc like the new 3rd gen iPod Nano does.
Now I am to conclude that the problem lies in the 3rd gen iPod itself. How could it not? My iPod Nano 2nd gen works absolutely fine, and everytime I plug in my new iPod Nano, I shut down in a flash withtout fail. Anyone of you have this error? I would love to know short of calling iTunes tech support about what to do about this, this is a MAJOR bummer for sure. Now I have to be concerened about whether or not I am ever going to get this thing to work now.
Is the iPod broken? If not why the shutdowns then? Please advise. Many thanks in advance.

  • Ipod nano 3rd gen (click wheel)

I currently have a ipod nano 3rd gen with a click wheel. I have uninstalled, reinstalled itunes and rebooted my computer already (I have windows XP). It shows up in "My Computer" as unknown but itunes will not reconize the ipod is connected, but does with my other ipod. I've tried changing the drive letter on this 3rd gen; but it wont appear to even change the drive letter. I believe I need to download the drivers (its what i had to do with my previous ipod) but I would like a clue where to download the drivers from, or someone to shed any light and a solution for this issue. My ulitmate goal is to get itunes to reconize it so that I can restore the ipod
    Thanks.

Clickwheel games are no longer available in the iTunes store.  Sorry.

  • IPod nano 3rd gen. Apple logo remains on screen and iTunes doesn't recognise it's plugged in, I can't even turn it off. I've tried to get to disc menu but when I hold the 'menu and select button' it reboots it doesn't recognise the select and play button

iPod nano 3rd gen. Apple logo remains on screen and iTunes doesn't recognise it's plugged in, I can't even turn it off. I've tried to get to disc menu but when I hold the 'menu and select button' it reboots and then doesn't recognise the select and play button to show the tick. I'm helpless.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Nano 3rd Gen Issues: would be grateful for any help

    Dear all,
I recently purchased an iPod Nano 3rd Gen for my wife. I have been using a mac for 7 years, still have my first iPod 5GB scroll wheel as well as a 60 GB iPod video 5.5 Gen.
    Here's what's happening.
iPod Nano connected via dock (which is in a USB hub...could that cause problems?)
    Connect, sync, no worries.
Update iPod Nano software to 1.0.2.
iPod then, halfway through syncing, flashes the Apple Logo every 6-7 secs and then does the same again.
It is not recognised in iTunes like that.
    Any help?
    A hopeful Dan

    Hi,
Same thing just happened to me - I have put the Nano 3G into disk mode (hold Menu and Select for 10 seconds then immediately hold Play/Pause and Select).
Just doing a factory restore now, that should bring it back to a brand new state and will try again from there.

  • Mac ipod nano 3rd gen - to windows xp

    Hey every body,
I currently own a ipod nano 3rd gen. I however have mbp at home(where the nano is registerd) Till yesterday i saved a file on my nano. Tried opening the file today on the pc. However it does not come up. It says that the nano is not formatted. Anyone know how i can access this file?

As far as I know you can't. A PC can't read a Mac-formatted iPod is the problem.
If you have to use the Nano on both OS, you will have to have the Nano in PC format. A Mac can read a PC formatted iPod, but not the other way around, as I said above.

  • Driver for Ipod Nano 3rd Gen

    Hi
Just brought Ipod nano 3rd gen and plugged it into PC. It is not able to install properly - computer says it can't find driver. Any ideas how to resolve this?

I am having the same issue here.
    OS: Vista ultimate 64-bit
    iTunes: 7.6.0.29 (64-bit)
    iPod: Nano 8gb 3rd gen
I currently have a 60gb iPod Photo that works flawlessly. I bought the Nano tonight, brought it home, and charged it up. Plugged it in, and now Windows Vista is asking for drivers for the Nano. Doesn't recognize the Nano at all.
The Nano knows it's plugged in, and is giving me the "eject before disconnecting" screen. However, Vista wants drivers, and iTunes doesn't recognize the Nano is connected whatsoever.
Can someone please shed some light on this for us? Thanks.
[edit] Yes, I have reset the Nano. Yes, I have uninstalled iTunes, rebooted and re-installed iTunes. Yes, I also tried putting the Nano into Disk Mode manually and connecting it to the system, but the system still wants drivers....
[edit2]And yes, I'm using the administrator account on the system, too.

They are not listed as devices on the itunes store account...

    Hi BradSLane,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has one method to find your serial number:

If you have lost or found an Apple product, please contact your local law enforcement agency to report it. Although Apple does not have a process to track or flag lost or stolen product, you can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers that have been purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

  • I need help restoreing my ipod nano 3rd gen so its like new

I need help restoreing my ipod nano 3rd gen so its like new

Plug it to your computer using iPod USB Cable (any cable should work excluding iPhone 5 and Shuffle cables)...... when you see your iPod in iTunes go to that iPod and click restore...... the whole process should take (depending on what you have on your iPod and its is up to date) it should take no longer than 30 minutes...... then it will ask if you want to set up as new iPod or restore from back-up (itunes back up), since you said:
    so its like new
click set as new iPod and follow through what they said.
