Artwork Problem on IPOD 5th

I know that this question has been asked dozens of times over the past few days, but ive managed to get all my songs cover art...but on the IPod only about half apear. When i play the music in Itunes from the Ipod the cover art apears...but not when im using the Ipod. Is their something that I have turned off that shouldnt be?

I had this issue on my girlfriends 30GB. My 60GB had no issues for some reason. I did'nt know what to do so I wiped it clean and re-loaded all the music and so far everything has artwork. Not sure if there is an official or easier solution but this worked for me.

Need help with download problems on Ipod-5th Generation

Hello everyone. Another newbie here who is not technologically inclined but love their Ipod. I just purchased new music videos from the Itunes store, connected my Ipod to the PC and left everything alone until I saw the update complete prompt. However, I am now in a panic because not only did it not sync my new purchases but...all of my previously purchased TV shows, music videos, etc are no longer on my Ipod. I did not request nor click to have anything erased. What can I do to restore my complete library of tunes, videos, tv shows, as I have spent a lot of money on my purchases for this Ipod?
Also, while I'm asking for help: do any of you have problems with downloads timing out before the downloads from the Itunes Store are complete? I purchased several music videos during downloads that said there was an error due to download timeouts; not only did the items never show up in my library but never synced to my Ipod. There were error codes assigned to these videos but...who do I do when this happens? Thanks in advance.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I Am having a problem with syncing 5,000+ songs onto my IPod 5th Generation. Everytime I sync, some songs will either go away or ALL of them will come off my iPod. I have iTunes 12 for Windows, and it has a slow syncing process and it will take days for songs to get on the iPod. It will even say that any of the songs "we're not synced to my iPod because the file wasn't converted..
I Need help please, I would appreciate it.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like some songs aren’t being synced to your iPod touch because they aren’t in a compatible format. Can you play those tracks in iTunes? Try selecting the tracks that won’t sync and creating a new version of them with iTunes as shown in the article below.

IPod (5th gen) has strange bars on screen/won't start - iTunes 7 problem??

Hello, I have been having strange problems with my iPod for the past two days.
•Wednesday night I downloaded some TV shows. For some reason I ran the software update and allowed my computer to download and install the new iTunes 7. After installing, I turned off the iPod and went to bed.
•Thursday morning I was disappointed to find that my iPod would not turn on (I pressed menu and play at the same time and nothing happened). Later that day a coworker suggested that I press menu and the center button at the same time and it came to life again!
•Thursday evening I watched my TV show with no problems and the iPod seemed fine. However, this morning I tried to turn on my iPod and now it's not working again!!
I press menu and the black screen with the Apple logo flickers on for 1 second, then goes blank and then comes up again for 5 seconds, then disappears and a horizontal row of very thin lines shows up, running along the bottom 1/4 of the screen...I tried pressing menu & center button, menu & play...that causes the black screen & Apple logo to flicker on and off several times over and over, until after about 8 seconds it cuts off the top half and then becomes blank or the horizontal rows of lines occupy the bottom 1/3 of the screen.
In doing some quick research it seems that a lot of people are having problems after the iTunes 7 update, could that be my problem? If so, how do I uninstall it??

I have identical the same problem, also as from wednesday night, the only diference is that i was still using the previous version of iTunes. Took my iPod (5th generation) to Apple, they swopped it out for a new one saying it was a Hard drive problem, I don't agree, New iPod has same problem. My old iPod's, a 1st and 4th generation as wel as a mini and shuffel has no problems at all. I then uploaded to iTunes 7 to no avail.
In adition my 5th gen ipod makes sounds that to me sounds like the hard drive atempting to start up every time aprox 5 to 8 sec with the apple logo apaering at the same time for hours on end.

Importing from iPod to iTunes and artwork problems

I have lots of albums on my iPod with artwork that display in iTunes, but it doesn't display on the iPod. Is there a minimum resolution for being able to display artwork on the iPod? I like to have the artwork in the MP3 file itself at a low resolution to take up about 20K in each file. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem?
Further, it's irritating that I can't get the ratings I set on the iPod back to iTunes when I do a sync. I'm guessing that the shuffler uses ratings when picking, and I would like to have my ratings survive a sync. I also use ratings to mark songs that I don't really like, so I can move or delete the songs. Is there some setting in iTunes or some program/service that needs to run in order to get a sync to work essentially both ways? (Are these two problems related?)
I appreciate any help that can be offered.

Not sure about your ratings issue. You are syncing rather than manually managing your music I take it. You might find that a reset helps. In principle the iPod should record play counts, played time & ratings which will then update iTunes when you sync. As for the artwork issues....

iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exisits in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the abum, use CTRL-I or Option-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.
*Rebuild artwork cache*
Sometimes the artwork cache becomes corrupt and fails to show correct artwork, even when this is properly set up in iTunes. To rebuild the artwork cache, connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

Problem viewing album artwork on video ipod

My problem is that I'm unable to view album artwork on my ipod in full screen, whether it's from the itunes store or if I copy/paste an album cover pic myself. You can see the artwork fine on the left next to the song/artist/album, it's just blank when you want to see it full screen. The thing is that my ipod is Windows formatted and this has only been happening since I got a Mac and have been doing all my itunes/ipod stuff on it. I wanna know if this is normal for a Windows formatted ipod on a Mac or if there is a way to fix this (without formatting it to Macintosh) because all my other songs with artwork that I synced with Windows show up fine in full screen view. After you added the album work to your songs, did you import or re-import those songs to the IPOD?

- Make sure the mic hole is clear and unobstructed. It is the little hole on the back by the camera lens(if has back camera). For the 16 GB one without the back camera the mic hole is on the top edge near the center.

Problems With Showing Album Artwork On The ipod

I tried to look in the support pages, everywhere, and i asked here, but it didn't help.
my ipod wont show album artworks.
when i try:
Edit-Preferences-ipod-music
and mark the 'Display album artwork on your ipod',
and then OK, it shows me an error window:
'The ipod cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50).'
I don't know what to do, please help me.
I have an ipod nano 4GB
and a PC computer, Windows XP,

I found the problem.
You have to display the album artwork in your itunes
library before you transform the song to the ipod.
Then, it will show.

IPOD w/video album artwork problems

Im having trouble with my Ipod displaying the wrong artwork (the artwork of other albums)when I view the artwork in Itunes its fine yet on my Ipod its somehow different.
If anyone else has experienced this problem or knows how to fix it please help.

5th Gen Ipod/Itunes 7.2 Problems (Freezing, Ipod corruption, slow upload..)

Let's catalogue our problems with the 5th generation IPod and ITunes 7.2, shall we? My IPod has worked fine for the last 11 months, I downloaded the new ITunes and now things have started going wrong.
I plugged my IPod into my computer (like I always do) and it said didn't recognize my IPod as "MY Ipod." It then said the IPod was corrupted and to restore it. I restored it, then it froze. I restored it again and then started uploading my 12,000 songs. Halfway through, it froze.
So I restored again. Started uploading again. I ejected the IPod, let it rest for a bit, then connected it again. Then it froze. Plugged it back in. IPod corrupted. Restore. Re-connect. Re-freeze. Restore again. Notice a pattern?
Now I've been patient after repeating this cycle a number of times. At this point, 11,000 of my songs have uploaded and I just have about a thousand more... then the upload started going slow. Rather than being a couple of seconds per song, it's now about a minute per song. It'll probably freeze soon, corrupt the IPod, and then I'll have to restore again.
Anyone having the same problem? What have you done? I find it ridiculous that my 400 dollar, 11 month old IPod was treated impeccably and then suddenly stops working once Apple released a new ITunes platform.

I do regret updating to 7.0.2
After the upgarde it also says that my iPod is corrupt and needs to be restored. However, if I do connect it to my other computer with the 7.0.1 version of iTunes, it works perfectly. And of course the iPod itself also works great.
So, I don't wanna follow the instructions at you did as I guess that it wouldn't help a bit. As usual, all upgades of firmware or iTunes seems to get something other wrong.
Apple! Fix this now. It's really a pest that every update destroys something else. Good ****, you're even worse than Microsoft!

5G iPOD detected as first gen, resulting in an artwork problem

It happened three times already! When I attach my black 5G iPOD it's detected as a white first gen!
As a result the tick from "Display Album Artwork" gets removed and when I upload new songs they don't show artwork. If I put the tick back on (after successfully detecting the iPOD again as 5G) all artwork on the iPOD gets deleted :/
Anyone had this problem?

The nano charges fine under a notebook running XP, assuming the notebook is up and running.
Still having problems under 2000....
on 2k, I never get the full-ipod-screen size charging indicator --- not even for a second. I get the smaller icon when the ipod is powered on, in the upper right hand corner, but that is usually short-lived. As soon as the ipod powers off, it fails to start charging.

Problems sync'ing some information between Address Book and iPod (5th)

Please give me some cues...
I sync my ipod address book (with iTunes and Address Book) but not every contact get sync'ed! Sometimes I change a contact picture or add a phone number and the updated version doesn't seem to show up on my ipod... It happens with several contacts on different occasions... Even if i delete those contact and create new ones from scratch.
Also, when I add a second phone number and set this number as "Home" (like for a Summer house), this number replace the first (home) number on my iPod. When I set this new number to be "Other", it just doesn't show up on my iPod. The only way I can make it visible on my iPod is to set it as "Work" (if I don't have a phone number set up as "Work" for that contact already). Pretty annoying...
Finally, some phone number are set up as xxx-xxx-xxxx (my default address format in AB) and some shows up as (xxx) xxx-xxxx even if everything looks fine in AB (phone numbers' label, contact's picture, address format...)
clueless...
maybe isync (or hotsync) has something to do with it (since I had a Palm w/Palm Desktop and HotSync before...)
