As a new Creative Cloud subscriber, I can't quite grasp Business Catalyst.

So I recently ditched my stand alone software for a Creative Cloud membership. So far I absolutely love it. I've been a bit overwhelmed with all the new software I never used before and, while I doubt I need most of it, I've at least been trying things out. The thing about Business Catalyst is that I can't seem to seperate the basics of what it is from the advertising rhetoric. Besides being a "solution for businesses" or some other tag line, can someone fill me in on the details some?
From what I have grasped so far it is simple web hosting with added tools for businesses and I know that I get 5 free sites with my CC subscription.
Now can I upload anything I want to these sites or do they have to be business oriented?
Could I host my portfolio using Business Catalyst? What about snapshots from my summer vacation?
My test site URL was http://sitename.businesscatalyst.com Is this also the permanent URL? Will I have register a domain name elsewhere or is that included when I push the site live?
I've noticed BC doesn't support PHP code, does that mean I will not be able to run web apps such as Wordpress?
I'm sure others have asked these questions before, but its so hard to sort out the useful data from the sales pitches.

Yes you can upload anything you want your site doesn't need to be business related.

Yes, images, files what you want you can host within your site in BC you can upload using FTP, Dreamweaver or the admin panel of your site (yoursite.com/admin)

This is your system URL that is provided to all sites. Once you add your custom domain that you've purchased through a registrar (godaddy.com, etc) the site will then reflect the added domain instead.

Correct we do not allow server-side scripts within BC. WP cannot be hosted within BC you can instead import your blog post into BC or use Live Writer to possibly manage.

The first thing you need to do is download and install the Creative Cloud Desktop Application. Then, open that program and click on the Apps tab. You download and install creative cloud applications from there.
If your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run a given program, it won't show up under the Apps tab.
Once they are installed, you'll need to go to your Applications folder (Mac) or Program Files (x86) folder (PC) to start the program itself.

This has nothing to do with CC or any of that. You have insufficient user privileges to write files locally on your computer or a technical issue gets in teh way. Since you have not provided any system info or otehr details, we cannot tell you more than that.

My changes to a duplicated page are not syncing up in the Creative Cloud. How can I fix this?

I'm using Adobe Proto on an iPad. I created one page and successfully viewed it in the Creative Cloud. Then I duplicated that 1st page so I could work on the next page in that project. I made some changes to the 2nd page and then synced the project with the Creative Cloud again.
Once I try to view the 2nd page in the Creative Cloud, it's still an exact copy of the 1st page. In other words, my changes on the 2nd page don't show up. I've tried synching the project many times and I get the same result. Tried opening the project from another browser, same result.

Yes, I'm 99% certain the project is being synced. If I duplicate more than the one page so that I end up with more than 2 pages, I still see every single page that I duplicated and made changes as the initial version of the page.
I duplicated that 1st page again so that I have 3 pages. I made changes to the 3rd one and I'm still not seeing those changes when I look at the page in Creative Cloud. I see the new, 3rd page, so that should mean the project is being synced, correct?

I am a happy Creative Cloud subscriber and think the services is great. I just discovered FormsCentral alst night and think it will be perfect for some of my clients' needs. Now do I have to pay extra for this or is an upgrade from the free account on there be included as part of my CreativeCloud subscription? If not, is sure should be...would be a good selling point and make perfect sense.

Randy, thx for the reply. I understand that, but from a marketing perspective it makes no sense. I sold my team on purchasing Creative Cloud because it allows access to the many wonderful things Adobe does at one fixed monthly fee, and now I am going to look stupid going in and saying I was wrong about that.
Question, Can I turn it on and off (the premium plans for FormsCentral) to use it for a specific event or campaign, and then go back to free between campaigns? Or is there a contract involved?

Confused about the new Creative Cloud

Dear all,
Since I read adout the new Creative Cloud I am confused about what is going to happen to my license for Adobe Lightroom. Are they going to still maintain the desktop applications as well or will I have to pay for a yearly license if I want to use the new versions of Lightroom?
I am a casual photographer and I love using Lighroom for my pictures but I don't think that paying for a yearly license because I am not spending a lot of time editing pictures.
Can someone clarify this for me?

The CC is geared towards Pro users, schools etc. LR spans both Pro and casual users. So from what I can garner Lightroom will stay as it is for the next iteration at least. I quoted that bit as my opinion is that that is the very reason why Lightroom will be available outside the cloud with a cloud version available with intergration features with the rest of the CC suite.

What do you think of the new creative cloud cc that was just released? I'm using it now and I think it's great. It's cs6 on stereroids lol More new features that people who fully paid for cs6 should of had.
I do wish the cloud standard price changes to 29.99 a month for all users so everyone gets a chance to enjoy the cloud.

I just downloaded CC, and still have all my CS6 apps as backup. Bridge CC (64-bit) is showing the same unacceptable performance I had with CS6 version. Can't believe that Adobe is so inept. I did fix the CS6 version but I forget how I did it. CS6 version of Bridge is near instantaneous. And it's not a matter of building the cache. It takes the program forever just to respond to a simple mouse click in the menu bar.
Photoshop CC crashed my machine, whereas CS6 version runs perfectly. Afraid to download any further apps.
Adobe 11 failed to install because it think's prior version of the that program is still on the computer. I never installed Acrobat 11 on this machine. Just Acrobat 10, which also got the stupid 30-day "refuse to start" bug, so I'm using Acrobat 9.5 which works flawlessly. Funny how the newer the code from Adobe, the worse it gets for its customers.

I see that you have purchased the Creative Cloud Subscription under the Email address you have used to login to Forums as well. I can see that the activation has not yet been done, Can you please try the below mentioned steps and advies.
1) Open the Creative Cloud Desktop Application and sign in with the Id that you have used to Login to forums.
2) If the above step does not resolve the query, please try activating the product under a different network.
Please share the end result post trying the above steps.

1. I am running on Windows 8.1
2. When running the installer file from https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/reflow I get the following choice
I click "OK" which doesn't do anything for me (CC is off).
I turn CC on and run the installer again. I get the following window that within few settings disappears:
Then - just for half a second it says "Launching Creative Cloud desktop" and then it brings CC to front, and that's all.
RF still not there.
3. I spoke ta support agent on the Adobe chat on Friday. He looked into my computer for an hour. Uninstalled After Effects (after failing to update it). For some reason all apps disappeared from the list. They then reappeared after he opened PS.
This morning After Effects is still showing up in my system and is operational.
Weird.
4. At the end the agent suggested maybe Firewall is the problem here. Trying that out now.
