As copying a project from a development repository to one of production

I have a repository where and configure an entire project, now I require it to another repository of production, as not to make a fresh start in the new repository.

So Production work repository already exists ?
If yes, just simply export the project from dev & import to prod in duplication mode.

This should give you some good insight, I'd probably store them on an External HD on the old machine and then just drag and drop to the new machine.

How to copy a project from MBP to Mac Pro without media

Explanation:
Our Director takes all the video interviews, imports this media into a Mac Book Pro (FCP X 10.1.1), creates a Project, makes his audio selects, and edits the video onto the timeline. Then he copies the Project to a portable hard drive.
In the meantime, we have imported all the media into our main edit station, a Mac Pro. Now we plug in the portable drive, open that Library, and copy the Project with the video interview selects to our main Event with all the media on the Mac Pro.
The problem is ... the media of the interview selects is also copied. Then we have duplicate media in our Event. With the previous version of FCP X, we could copy over the timeline without media, then reconnect it.
Any solutions? A better way?

For your particular workflow to be successful, the media needs to be stored outside the Library (External Media). It is important that the media that is being shared is identical on all drives or computers. Media that you import into a specific library is stored inside the library and is referred to as managed media. Media can also be imported or copied to any location on a connected volume and linked to the library as external media. Multiple users can access this external media instantly on shared storage, including a storage area network (SAN) such as Xsan, Apple’s SAN file system.
Page 16-18 includes suggested workflows for collaborating with other editors. The Transfer Library option on page 18 may work well for your particular situation:
To hand off new events to a working library using a transfer library
Another way to hand off new events to a working library on shared storage is to create an intermediate library, or “transfer” library. For example, an assistant editor can create a transfer library containing new events to be handed off to the primary editor, and then copy the new events from the transfer library to the primary editor’s working library.
1. On the system you want to transfer from, select the events you want to hand off.
2. Choose File > Copy Events to Library > New Library.
3. In the window that appears, type a name for the new library, navigate to a location for the new library, and click Save.
4. If you want to include optimized or proxy media in the new transfer library, select the appropriate checkboxes in the window that appears, and click OK.
5. In the Libraries list, select the newly created library and choose File > Close Library.
6. On the destination system, open the new transfer library by choosing File > Open Library > [library name], and drag the updated events to the working library.
Note: Motion templates are not managed as assets within the library but are instead stored in ~/Movies/Motion Templates/. If a project is dependent on custom titles or other Motion templates, these must be handed off separately. Placing updated Motion templates in a central location on shared storage as a last step in any handoff process guarantees that all editors working on a project can access the templates at any time.

Copied School Project from DVD-Burn New Copy?

I copied my son's school project from a school-supplied/created DVD to my hard drive. Now I'd like to make my own copy. Can I do this? Do I need to get the DVD again to make an image instead? Or, can I copy to my Palmcorder and then import as a file? Thanks.

Roxio Toast can burn these to a new DVD, but I'm not aware of any Apple apps that can handle those files without other processing.
DVDSP can also address Video_TS folders (however most folks don't have apple's professional apps).
So I'd agree that Roxio Toast (or Apple's DU) is his best option here.
Btw ... If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading that you can also try dragging your Video_TS and Audio_TS into the blank disc icon in the Finder and burning it from there.

Copy iMovie Project from MBP to iMac via DropBox?

My AVCHD Camcorder records to SDHC card and has my latest holiday on it (1.6GB of it).
My iMac doesn't have an SD slot so I ordered a USB Multi-cardreader and had to wait for it to be delivered before I could import my project into iMovie '11.
Meanwhile, as it happened, my daughter went on holiday and lent me her MacBook Pro. It occured to me that I could use the MBP's built in SD reader and I successfully imported my holiday clips into iMovie'11 on her MacBook. I even got it to analyse for stablisation and persons.
This morning the anticipated USB SDHC (and other card) reader arrived. I tried to use it to import the clips into my own Desktop iMac. Unfortunately the device is rubbish. It has a small mini USB cable to power it. The cable fell out several times each time forcing the Mac to tell me off about not unmounting the device properly. When I eventually found a way to stop the power cable falling out, iMovie couldn't import the clips without errors. Using DIsk Utility to try and fix it failed because DU was unable to dismount the device for some reason.
Never mind, I thought, I will just copy the clips I imported yesterday to my daughters MacBook.
We both share a DropBox Folder and I think there is enough space on it to transfer 1.6GB. How do I do this? I mean, is it simply a case of copying a certain folder to DropBox then from DropBox to the relevant place on my iMac?
Also, I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere something about file sharing. I have an airport router, I wonder if it would be just as simple to transfer the appropriate folder this way instead?

If you copied the entire contents of the card with the file folders intact, you can try to import using iMovie. Best case scenario, iMovie will recognize the folder and import the AVCHD files. If not, you'll need a converter of some sort. There are many apps out there that will convert AVCHD but the reason I recommend ClipWrap is that the re-wrap simply changes the container of the movie so that the Mac can read it. The contents remain the same and you have no quality loss, whereas most other converters actually re-write the data.
Another user over at Vimeo has a free option that people say has worked for them. To quote:

How to copy field comments from logical model to relational one?

Dear gurus!
I had a logical model without field comments. Then I made an engineering of logical model into relational one. Later I added field comments to logical model. How can I copy these values to relational model? Seems to me that when I use
model.getTableSet().toArray()
then I get list of relational model tables. How can I get a list of logical "tables" and to get a relations between those two lists?

You don't need to write and run script for that. Just use engineering to relational model. Use compare/copy options tab if you don't want something else to go into relational model

Isit possible to copy DRM version from one database to another?

I want to copy a version from DRM (Development environment) to another instance (production environment) by copying one database to another database. In order to synch both the version. Is this possible? rather than exporting and reloading?
It is possible, but I want to know the steps invloved for this

You can use the DRM Configuration console for this purpose. Please follow the below steps:
1. Open Repository Wizard
2. Check - Copy/Upgrade
3. Enter Source connection details and test connection
4. Click Next on Analysis summary
5. Enter Target connection details and test connection
6. Confirm Copy by clicking Next
It copies everything. Hope this helps!!

Cannot deploy webdynpro project from SP11 of developer studio

Hi All,
I have recently upgraded was java from SP09 to SP11 of netweaver 2004s. I have also upgraded developer studio to SP11. Now I cannot deploy webdynpro project from upgraded developer studio. SP09 developer studio can still deploy webdynpro projects.

Copying an XControl from one LVLib to another

Hi,
I'm trying to copy a project from a template into a new location programatically. I face problems while copying XControls from one LVLib to another. I also need to rename the all the VIs and Ctls in the XControl and the XControl and LVLib. Kindly post in your ideas.

Hi Vaishnavi,
You can not just copy an XControl folder on the disk, you have to do this from LabVIEW.
The Save As dialog will give you an option to create a copy and it will take care of all naming issues automatically.

Sharing Garageband project from ipad to ipad

Hello
i want to share a garageband project from an ipad to another one, but when saving it from itunes to my computer, it is stored in folders. If i send the folders to another computer, it is not possible to import these folders using the itunes, (so the project would go straight to the garageband ipad app)
Is there any other way to share it from an ipad to another??

When transferring projects there are several ways to do this. If you talking about transferring a project that when loaded from the other person they get all your settings as you see it on your iPad. Ie. tracks that we're recorded, reverba nd delay choice and settings, instruments used ect... Then NO. What you can do is simply email the track or song to the other person. When they receive the email they can open it and save the audio files in garagebands and it shows up in the iPad GarageBand apple loops folder which then you drag and drop them into your project. You can also open the email audio right from within your iPad if you have Daw Multitrack or MusicStudio App for iPad then you simply hold down the song icon in your email for a few seconds and the option to open the file comes up by these two apps. Simply select the app to open it, copy to the pasteboard and that audio is now available throughout all you audio apps that support pasteboard copy which is pretty much all of them. To paste in GarageBand simply choose an empty track make sure you select the microphone, make the bar count set to auto, set the tempo to the songs tempo, set the key signature to match the song and touch the blank track and you will see paste, touch paste and whatever was in the pasteboard at the time will be pasted into your project. If someone wants to see an exact duplicit of what you are seeing then send them a note or text with the setting since there is only 8 tracks and just a few minor FX setting they should be looking at what you are fairly quickly. How I can open my project from usb disk?

I copy my project from hard disk to usb disk because I have just 128 Gb on my HDD. Now I would like to open and change few details in my project and I can't find a way to open it. Could you please help me?

What exactly did you copy? You could do this from inside FCP. If you do it in the Finder the whole project folder has be be moved into a folder called Final Cut Projects at the root level of the external drive.

Copy Exchenge rate from many Delivery to one AR invoice

Hi all!
I face with the problem. My customer need copy exchange rate from many Delivery that in one delivery we have different exchange rate for different date. After done all delivery, we will copy them to AR invoice, and customer need keep exchange rate the same with delivery.
How can i do that because SAP B1 prevent this??? i don't know reason why?

If the AR invoice date is the same with Delivery date, the Exchenge rate will be the same. However, if you want to Copy Exchenge rate from many Delivery to one AR invoice, you may only have one rate for the invoice date.

Restoring single project from vault after Aperture 2.0 failure.

Is it possible to restore a single project from my vault?
Suddenly, one of my projects just died on me after I had just imported a very large TIFF, producing nothing but "cut out picture frames", and even after doing the newest update, which I didn't have previously, all my photos are still gone! It also caused Aperture 2.0 to quit spontaneously! If I double click on one of the missing photos, it states:"Unsupported Image Format". Oh ooh!
If anyone knows how this error came about (maybe the imported image was corrupted somehow?), that would be of great help!

If I wanted to restore a single image personally, I would go manually grab it from the vault using Finder. You can right click on the vault and do "show package contents," then navigate to the projects, right click and again "show package contents" for your project, and then go find it.

Copy a mapping from one project to another project in same reepository.

I am using OWB 10GR2. I have two projects in this repository called dev_project and test_project. after completion of mappings development in dev_project, i want to move the mapping from dev_project to test_project. I was able to copy the mapping from dev_project to test_project.
However, when i open the mapping in test_project project, I was able to see all mapping operators like sources, targets and all other operators. But filter operators, join operators and aggregator operators doesn't have its properties( means there are no filter condidtion, join condition).
Please help me how to take those filter and join conditions also from dev_project to test_project.
