AS is down and failing to connect: Getting the error below

I'm new to the Oracle AS environment. I'm also new to the Oracle technical support environment. I just encountered the error below and I'm researching the cause this problem. I was informed to come to this board to seek valuable knowlege, solutions and answers to any questions I may have. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Hi,
Have you checked if your metadata repository database is up? That is where the Oracle Internet Directory stores its info.
The metadata repository database is located in the infrastructure's Oracle home. You can access it with SQL*Plus.

Hi, I disabled the antivirus and the firewall. Same result
I even deleted the backup folder inside C:\Users\...\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to eliminate any corruption in the old backup files.
Nothing changed: Session either times out or i get the same error message: itunes could not back up iphone because iphone disconnected. It always happens during step 3 out of 4 which is "transfering purchased apps from iphone to PC" and comes after step 2 which is backup.
My iphone 5 is not jailbroken, and is a factory unlocked phone.
Any other suggestion?

There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it

After the update before last (6.0.1 I think) Firefox crashed on resart and failed to send in the error report; I've had to roll back to V4 to use Firefox - any clues?

The update to 6.0, 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 will not run on my system. Th einstall goes ok, the restart starts, throws up a bunch of Java incompatabilities then crashes with the apology screen offering to send in a report if I hit restart or quit. No matter how many times I hit restart, the report submission fails and Firefox stays crashed. Looking at my crash reports, the problem seems to start on or around August 18th 2011 - the crash ID below is the last generated (not found at your end obviously, as it never reached you)

Either the installation was in fact unsuccessful, and you need to uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall,

PowerPivot Error "Failed to connect to the server. Reason: Unspecified error" when importing other files

I have been getting the error below on a regular basis when attempting to import Excel, Text, or Access files.
I'm running Office 2010 (SP1), and PowerPivot (SP1). After reading a similar thread I reinstalled PowerPivot. It worked until I closed Excel. Now it recuses to allow import or update of these files. I really need it to work. Anyone have an solution or even
something to try - other than uninstalling and reinstalling PowerPiviot everytime I need to import or refresh files?

If it is Smarthost, are you able to telnet your smarthost using 25 port number?
Also please check your Send Connector setting.

This most certainly is not a free version of software - I am a Xerox employee that has downloaded this to work in conjunction with our Makeready system software, through one of your download sites. I need to get this up and running as soon as possible

However, I should not have to wipe my computer clean everytime I need to do a CC update. HELP!
