Java Instalation Failed. ~Please Help?~

When i get to the installation step of download Java Version 6 Update 16 this error shows up.
Error Msg:
Installation Failed
The wizard was interrupted before Java(TM) 6 Update 16 could be completely installed. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
System:
I'm runing Vista,
500GB Hard drive, Laptop is like new so i dont think lack of hard drive space would be the problem.
When Problem Occured:
- I downloaded JDK 6 Update 14 with JavaFX SDK and saved everything into a folder on my desktop because I wasn't sure wether I wanted to keep it.
- When i had no use for the program anymore i uninstalled it. I only had the program on the computer for a small while so im not sure weather Java was working after i downloaded because i never tested it out.
- After i uninstalled it i realised Java was not working and one of the command prompts for one of my programs what used java said cannot find location of the folder That JDK was in, thats because i deleted it..
-So i tryed to reinstall Java and this problem started.
Things I have tryed:
- Deleting all files associated with Java and retrying download.
- Downloading other forms of Java such as;
----> Online & Offline RE download (interruption error)
----> JDK 6 Update 16 with Java EE (no runtime worked)
----> JDK 6 Update 14 with JavaFX SDK (no runtime again)
- Downloading files to a desktop folder again, just incase. (Fail)
Notes:
- I could not find product key though to delete link to Java in control panel. (Possible cause?) Also the icon is not Java it is that blank page icon with Java written under it and when u click on it, it says "Aplication not found."
- This happened two days ago.

Have you tried to install the jdk. Do not insall from the download.
Dowload the jdk to your computer (desktop or downloads) the install.
I'm an XP, Linux and Mac user so I will have to check with some Vista users who have installed jdk.
Also:
Have you installed Firefox. One good thing IE is for is to download Firefox.

Java install fails in Yosemite

I'm trying to install Java after upgrading to Yosemite but every version fails to download. I've trying installing the version Apple suggests, directly from Oracle, and even an older version of Java but it all seems to fail at the same spot. I've tried restarting my computer and installing, but that failed as well.
Any help is appreciated.

Nw2004s java install failing at phase 3

Started installing JAVA on Red hat 4 with oracle 10g.
At phase 3, install common System file. Java hangs. At the botton of the GUi, I am seeing " creating profile for <SID> ......"
Here is the last few lines fromt the console

Just wait... the status bar is not always updated, it will take a certain amount of time before it will progress.
You can check if the system is doing something by opening another terminal window and try a
top d1c
There you will see activity.

XP Install fail help

When installing XP Home.. the install runs through the 'Formatting' and after 100%, instead of starting the Windows install.. I get a message... could not create partition.
I tried to install on a small 20GB IDE HDD, and got the same results.. The equipment is my old PC that a friend of mine now has.
The PC was working. The reinstall was being done to correct DVD/RW Drive problem. The DVD Drive would see a disc..but not seen as a write to disc. You were able to run a disc, but not write to a disc, on either drive. Having 2 DVD drives, I tried to install XP Home 32bit from both drives. Same results 'Could not create partition'. I since have been told that one of the DVD drives has been a problem for a very long time. The other DVD drive is a working, take out (IDE) from my PC. Frustrated...today I am installing a Sata DVD/RW drive. Removing all IDE drives. Sata 1 will be the 320Gb HDD, and Sata 4 will be the DVD/RW drive. I am hoping it is a DVD/RW cause.
Before deciding on a restore.. I ran Windows Repair.. after running repair the PC would not boot. Repair was a failure.
The PC is: MSI K8n Neo4 F (3.0), AMD FX-55 (939), WD 320GB Blk Sata, 400W PSU, GeForce 7600GT, Lan card, 2X1Gb PC3200 Kingston Memory, 2ea IDE DVD RW Drives.
With this equipment the PC has been up and running for about 2 1/2 yrs. Then the Power switch became bad... equipment moved to new Antec 300 case. Ran fine...except for the DVD/RW drives.

Amazing.. how people can be. I have to share this story. Just over a year ago my friend brought his PC to a local computer repair shop. The PC was cycleing on and off. They ntold him.. we can sell you a new Motherboard, CPU and memory.. your MB is bad. Well, they couldn't afford a couple of hundred dollars to fix it, and saved up. A year later we order a replacement MB online (K8n neo4 F) and I install it. Same on and off.. I found out it was thier Case and power switch..only! We install into a new Antec 300 and... all is good. But the dvd/rw wouldn't write or see a disc for writing. Here's what I found.. wow They were sabatoged! (by the PC repair shop, my friend doesn't know how to work on a PC).
One.. an added partition on their drive. A partiton of 9Gb unallocated, and the jumper was set to pins 1/2 (spreadspectrum), not 4/5 where it belomged. I removed their HDD and set it up clean off my PC. dvd/rw drives.. jumpers were moved to Slave.. on both. These people wanted them to fail and buy new equipment. I know my friend did not make these changes. So, the story here is sabatoge... sad story.
Good news... once I reinstalled their cleaned HDD and reset the jumper to 4/5 (thanks Bas for reminding me to look. I never expected my previous work to have been altered).. OS installed perfectly. I did replace their dvd/rw with a Sata one. (tes, a $20 oem I had from newegg)..Write to disc is good. All is good. So now my friend has a spare MB... or he can resell it. Had no PC for a year..over a miss diagnosis and bad business done to them.
A good ending..is a good ending.. thanks for all the notes here. Now I'll bring the PC back to my friend.. get the MSI disc (forgot to bring it here...lol)... Install the drivers... do the updates... and hope my friend gets to enjoy the PC for a long time. p.s my old CPU in the PC... FX-55 singlecore.... amazing how it can run even the newer demands of today... For a CPU that origionaly cost someone oner $1000 dollars (I got it used for $250, years ago)... it's like the last capiable singlecore... what a CPU... 2.6Ghz.. a great CPU of it's day and even today.

I've decided that I'm going to develop my Rails applications in Linux and keep hitting a BRICK WALL every time I try to install NetBeans or Java. I download all of the packages and come to a text screen that says "Package Configuration" and then "Configuring sun-java5-bin" and then it asks you to read the agreement and there's an <Ok> at the bottom. I can't get through this and everytime it fails my 'package manager' goes bonkers and I have to reload the Ubuntu Gutys Gibbon operating system AGAIN!!!
I push ENTER and type in "yes" and "Ok" and there is no response.
I've loaded this operating system FIVE TIMES NOW and the bottleneck is very frustrating as I can't program in a graphics environment without Java.
I joined this forum just to ask this question and would be grateful for a reply at [email protected]

Hi, I was able to reformat my iPod and that worked. I read it on one of the threads and I am copy pasting the method below:
I opened the "My Computer" window and right-clicked on my ipod, and then selected "Format". I select "Yes" to format since I don't have anything on the nano to delete anymore.
I then Eject my nano from the computer and did a restart while the nano is disconnected from the computer.
Once Windows finish loading I reconnect the USB to the nano(back of computer) which automatically pulls up iTune. It asked me to name the new ipod detected and created a playlist for that specific ipod name.

Failed Leopard Install , PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a MacBook Intel Core Duo , I have the ram to 2 gigs from and HD to 160 gigs from 80 gigs. I started the install.... I picked full erase & install. I ran the disk consistency check, which returned ok. The install starts 3 to 4 min into the install, I get the error message "Install Failed Mac Os X could not be installed on your computer. The installer could not validate the contents of the 'BaseSystem' Package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance... click start and try installing again. Multiple attempts later same result. Replaced HD with original started install once again, I ran apple updater , update completed all ok. Started install , again checked disk for consistency.. it returned ok.
pick upgrade , because this HD is my back up. Once again "INSTALL FAILED" , but with a twist, I can no longer boot into OS X now my MacBook boots to black screen
with the command prompt LOCAL HOST:/ root #.... this can't be good. My next attempt the files still seem there. Well what should I do now.

No - I'm afraid that didn't work for me. My SMTP settings for GMAIL include only my username/password and the recommended port for outgoing GMAIL SMTP (993) / USE SSL. Whenever I try and send a message, it hangs in the Outbox, and the spinning wheel spins in "Sent". This is only since upgrading to SL. Am about to get on the phone with Apple Care because this is really getting to be a PITA. I've never had a problem using my Gmail SMTP account in Mail before this upgrade.
OK - I seem to have fixed it on my end. Try this:
The default setup in the new Mail.app (4.0) wants to place SMTP for GMAIL on port 993. Change the selection from "Custom Port" to the default - i.e. "25, 465, 587". I know there are posts above that say the preferred port for SMTP is 993, +but see+ http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78799. The SMPT settings clearly state which ports to use (465 or 587). When I selected the default option check box in the advanced SMTP settings in Mail, Voila! Sent Mail! Hope this helps you get your outgoing mail out.

Mavericks install failed, says disk is damaged and can't be repaired. Help.

My install failed early in the setup process, and said that my HD is damaged and can't be repaired. It reboots in install mode, I go to disk utility, and can't run repair. I've tried to boot to safe mode, but the progress bar goes about a third of the way and it just powers off, so no way to get in to backup or do anything on this machine. My time machine backup is old, but mostly I just have music that I can redownload from iTunes or re-rip from cd, so not worried about data loss. So do I reformat? How would I get an OS on there again, since there would be no way to boot up or get an OS Download onto that machine? This is the first time I miss the old cd/dvd disk distribution. I'm stumped, any help and guidance is appreciated. It's a MacBook Pro if that matters.

Have you got back to restore from if all else fails?
Try booting from the grey restore disk that came with the Mac: disk in drive and restart holding down the 'c' key. Hopefully it'll boot, albeit slowly. At the first screen select your language and from the menu bar of the next screen choose Utilities>Disk Utility. Select Macintosh HD>Repair Disk. Hopefully DU wil repair the errors. Click on repair disk again until you get a clean pass. Try to restart as normal from the Apple menu.

IMac: Install Java 7 need help!

Hello, I've an iMac with the newest software version, I want to install java 7 on it for a game server, but when I download it from java.com and I install it and start the server, it still says: Computer on java 6, update to 7 to run server. I already tryed to install with Terminal and direct acess to System Library, it shows that java 7 is installed, but I have to delete java 6. When I delete all java versions, apple says I have to install java SE6, what isn't java 7 but java 6! Help please!!!

The Oracle JRE is only a web plugin. If you need server-side Java, you'll have to use the Apple-supplied Java 6 runtime, or else the Oracle JDK (which is not a drop-in replacement for Apple's Java.) If your server application depends on Java 7, you'll most likely have to run it on another operating system.

managed to do the upgrade by deleting my bootcamp partition with windows xp on it. Think it was this making it unable to create the recovery partition.
However after doing the upgrade I was not impressed with Lion at all! Although it had new features it was running far slower and took ages to boot and shutdown and applications took ages to load and got loads of "spinning discs" waiting for stuff to load which never had before as this is a new Macbook with 4GB of ram.
Anyway after reading people with similar problems made a Lion install disc from the original download and did a clean install and restored my system.
What a difference! Vast improvment in speed and loading and performance! Thank goodness!

Please ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled while installing Acrobat.
Let me know the link from where you are trying to download Acrobat.
Please try downloading from a different browser and check.

Have you run Software Update. You have Java already installed, but it needs to be updated.

Hi, Thanks Ned. I click on the 'try now' or install icon and then the download begins. When it gets to about 50% installed it stops and says, install fail then try again. I try again and again, but each time its stops at about the 50% point.

I tryed to uninstall flash player but that too unexpectidly quits.
When I try to restart it gets hung up, and I have to do a hard start to get logged into my computer again.
I ran the disk utility and repaired permissions, that didn't help.
Anyway the install failed said I should contact Adobe so here I am.

So what I did was downoad and install the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.2.dmg

On the left you will see the downloads, The one you want is the (combo) version.
Just as a precaution, I would recommend backups, as these little glitches are often percursers to the big fail.
I use corbonite, you can search for it on your own, or time machine ect, whatever works best for you.
Sorry I may have been rude, I have always liked Adobe products and I have no doubt that the people at Adobe are working hard to keep everything working, it must be quite hard to deal with irate customers all day.
