As many HTTP sessions as Internet Explorer windows ?

Hi,
          My web-application is using HttpSession to identify users (with this well known getSession() applied to HttpServletRequest).
          I have noticed that if I open two (or more) Internet Explorer windows and I connect to my web-application, all of them share the same HTTP session.
          That is annoying because some parameters stored in the session are different between the windows.
          When I'm using IE in one window and Firefox in another, there are two separate sessions.
          How can I do to have as many different HTTP sessions as IE Windows ?
          Is it a WLS parameter ?
          I'm using WLS 9.1.
          Thanks a lot.

This is not WLS issue. This is caused by the fact that different browser instances share a same cookie.

  • Adobe & Internet Explorer crashing when opening pdf within an Internet Explorer window

    Hello,
    Can anyone help me with this issue or maybe point me in the right direction? Thank you!
    Working with in a ASP that uses reader to display forms. The form opens as an embedded adobe form in a new Internet Explorer window. Once the form opens it pulls data from the ASP. At times when the form opens in the new window both the Internet Explorer windows close. Other times a "user request stop" error appears and once OK is pressed both windows close. The ASP does not know what causes this & can not seem to replicate the problem. ASP is on the other side of the country.
    Would the acrotray.exe be causing this?

  • Export to Excel button only launches in Internet Explorer window

    Hi Experts - A subset users that are experiencing issues with the option to Export to Excel via Web Analyzer on 7.0.  For others, including myself it works just fine.
    When they click the Export to Excel option after running a query, it only opens in an Internet Explorer window (no Excel options to manipulate data) and does not give them the typical MS Excel pop-up window (like I get) to OPEN or SAVE in Excel format.
    Thinking this would be an MS Excel or Internet Explorer setting somewhere, but don't know where to find it....
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello,
    I think that you're right, the problem doesn't seem to come from anything in SAP servers (otherwise no user would be able to make it work right).
    If I understand well, you want to open an Excel window when selecting "export to Excel" option, not having the table opened in IE with an Excel tab. Am I right ?
    If it's the case, I think that this should work :
    In windows explorer, open tools -> folder options
    Tab "file type"
    find xls extension, and click "advanced" button
    uncheck "browse in the same window" button
    I'm using windows XP, therefore I can't guarantee that you'll find the same menus with another OS. Furthermore, I'm using a french OS, so my translations might differ slightly from what you'll actually have on screen. The result is reflected in the following registry key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Sheet.8
    (this could be a different key, depending on the MS Office version installed on your computer)
    You should now have a DWORD value BrowserFlags = 8
    If you have a helpdesk department in your company, that handles software installations, I guess that they should handle this problem (by broadcasting the change in registry ?). But if you're a small company, where everyone has the rights to change such settings, this method will be OK.
    Best regards,

    Save the file to your downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.

  • HTTP POST and Internet Explorer

    Sorry for the cross post, but after reading through this newsgroup, it
              seems that this audience is better suited to answer this question...
              ===========================
              We're running across a very strange bug that is happening only in
              Internet Explorer and only when posting form data. Netscape works
              completely fine every single time.
              The user experience is this:
              Using IE, I get to a JSP that's got a form. I click a button on said
              form that performs either a "Save" or a "Cancel" action and am
              immediately hit with the wonderful "This page cannot be displayed(Cannot
              find server or DNS Error)" IE error message.
              What happens on the server side is this:
              User posts a form to a JSP. The JSP does any processing that it needs
              to, which in the case of "Cancel" is nothing, and issues these commands:
              response.sendRedirect("/some/page.jsp");
              return; //exit program immediately!
              I've verified that the server is executing as expected, sending the
              response and returning out of the program. That's where things seem to
              go awry in Internet Explorer. It's as if IE is not interpreting the
              HTTP response header correctly and just dies not knowing where to go.
              The even stranger thing is that, when running WLS on our internal
              network, this does not happen unless your dialed up. However, when
              hitting our servers that are colocated, this happens on a regular basis.
              One more thing to note is that this does not happen every time. It
              happens more than 90% of the time, but not every time, which is why it's
              very hard for me to recreate.
              Another strange thing is that this error seems to depend on the content
              of the form
              variables, for instance I can have a form with check boxes that errors
              out when the
              check boxes are unchecked, but is fine when the boxes are checked, and
              in both
              cases I'm not doing anything at all with the data that is getting
              posted.
              I've tried everything from changing the http headers to changing the
              post to be
              multipart encoded, and nothing works.
              If you've got a clue or a hint or any suggestions where I should be
              looking, then please let me know. I've got a few more things to check
              out, but I'm running out of ideas.
              Our platform:
              - RedHat Linux 6.0
              - WebLogic Server 4.5.1 Service Pack 5
              - JDK 1.2.2 (Sun/Blackdown)
              These JSPs:
              - Are posting form data ("GET" works for some reason)
              - Are not using any JavaScript

    Hi Chris/All,
              Following on from this I contacted WebLogic support (Frederic). They
              suggested I downgrade from 4.5.1 sp8 to 4.5.1 sp7. They also suggested I
              use HttpResponse.encodeURL()...
              This did not solve my problem but I went on to discover the following...
              Hi Frederic,
              We tried with sp7
              I thought HttpResponse.encodeURL just encoded session data where no cookie
              support was in the browser, but I tried it anyway.
              Also tried the following to the page I'm redirecting back to (to prevent
              browser cacheing)
              resp.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache"); file://HTTP 1.1
              resp.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); file://HTTP 1.0
              resp.setDateHeader ("Expires", 0); file://prevents caching at the proxy
              server
              Also added the following to override the standard implementation
              protected long getLastModified(HttpServletRequest req)
              System.out.println("ServletA.getLastModified"); // ensure lastModified is
              always in the future requiring a reload
              return Long.MAX_VALUE;
              The only way I've been able to force this to work is a bit of a cludge and
              is as follows...
              // add time to queryString to fool IE5 into thinking this is a new web page.
              String parentURL = HttpUtils.getRequestURL(req) + "?" + req.getQueryString()
              + "&t=" + System.currentTimeMillis();

  • Image video verte saccadée avec internet explorer windows 8.1

    Bonjour,

    Hello,
    Are you writing an app using the WebView or just creating a web page to be displayed in IE on the phone?
    The WebView hosts IE so this answer should work for you either way but... The WebView supports the HTML 5 "video" tag. The platform supports a limited number of streaming formats natively including Microsoft's propriety implementation of RTSP and
    RTSP over HTTP. If the video source is being streamed in either of these formats you can simply point the "video" tag at the server and you should be good to go.
    If you want to support a different streaming protocol such as HLS or DASH you will need to create or find a 3rd party
    Media Source Extensions plug in for the "video" tag that supports the protocol that you are using on the server. If you are severing Microsoft's Smooth Streaming content you may be able to use the
    Smooth Streaming Client SDK for Windows Phone 8.1 although I'm not sure if the HTML5 support is available outside of a native HTML5 app.
    I hope this helps,

  • How to revert back to previous version of Internet Explorer (Windows 7)

    Hi,
    I recently ran updates on my computer and IE 7 was taken up to IE 9. I had CCTV plugins that dont work with IE 9 (I find out too late) so now I want to revert to IE 7 or IE 8. No download that I can find for either IE 7 or IE 8 will run on Windows 7. Both
    throw up a library error. Can anyone suggest a solution please. My Windows 7 Ultimate had IE 7 intalled from the box - so it will obviously run. I can remove IE 9 for the Control Panel - but that is about it. I don't belive that the only option would be to
    completely reinstall Windows to slove the issue - and would it even activate a second time?

    IE9 IS the problem.  We have three DVR camera systems which cannot be accessed through IE9.  The DVR manufacturer admits the problem!
    So explain exactly what it is about IE9 that makes it unable to access the DVR camera systems?
    Provide detail of exactly why IE9 is the problem.
    Looks like you are really a newbie about using browsers who is just learning how to use IE.Its weird that you are expecting Batteryjer will be knowing the exact root cause problem. FYI I've the same issue but in different context.
    I'm using Pega PRPC  which was working fine with Internet Explorer 7 and 8. But with the latest update of Internet Explorer 11 (which happened automatically without my knowledge), I'm not able to use this pega software properly as many menu items doesn't
    show up.When I play around with F12 Developer Tools (located in Tools) and change the Interent Explorer version from 11 to  8, 7, most of the menu options of Pega appears correctly in browser screen. If you really want to know the exact cause , go back
    to your computer and try to play and learn..
    I can say that IE is becoming more carp and crap with every update and there is PROBLEM WITH INTERNET EXPLORER with every update.Still I want to rollback my IE from 11 to 8 without using Developer Tool.

    hi ,
    I have a .swf file used in html file and i try to browse using "https(SSL)".it will loads fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer wont able to load. When right-clicking it says "movie not loaded".
    even i googling for the same and i got below option but i am still not able to get flash on html page. it will working fine in Internet Explorer,FireFox etc when we use"http".
    1) add headers like "Cache-Control: must-revalidate" or "Cache-Control: max-age=0" or "Cache-Control: no-store" etc
    2) use CrossDomain.xml
    we also able to load swf in https on Internet Explorer but for that we have to do below settings in Internet Explorer browser.
    1) Go to Tools --> Click on Internet Option --> click on Advanced tab --> Now in security section checked mark on "Do not save encrypted pages to disk".
    but above way is not a proper way to resolve the https issue
    Thanks.

    found this within the Adobe forums, seems to solve your issue.
    I would make sure to use the crossdomain file as well.
