As of 2010, what mobile phones support JavaFX?

Hi guys! I'm going to deploy a javafx application on a mobile phone soon for my project.
Currently, as of March 16,2010, what mobile phones support JavaFX?
Aside from Java's official recommendations:
LG Incite, HTC Touch Diamond
Any information is deeply appreciated. I would love to hear from those who actually deployed their JavaFX apps on the mobile phones they will suggest here.
Note: I've searched the threads in this forum and google and most of them are outdated - posts from early last year.
Hope to see some comments real soon! :) Thanks in advance!

Hi tsubaki,
The official JavaFX Mobile developer device is the HTC Diamond, however unofficially since the JavaFX Mobile developer stack is a Windows Mobile executable, you can unofficially (since it's not supported) run it on any Windows Mobile 6.x device. I've been running JavaFX Mobile 1.2 for Windows Mobile (http://javafx.com/downloads/windows.jsp) on an HTC HD2 device and have been getting some nice results. But, remember if you run on any device that is not the HTC Diamond, we cannot guarantee any level of support for it.
Thanks,
Hinkmond

If you know if I can open a SSLServerSocket on a mobile phone, please send email to [email protected]
    Thanks.

    Hello my friend,
This is a forum, it is not nice to ask people to reply you to your email, Everybody should post the solution to a problem or suggestion something that other people who are having the same kind of problem can read it and work it out.
About your question no J2ME doesnt implement SSLServerSocket , but in MIDP2 it has got HTTPS support, use it if you want for secure connection.

  • Disgusted with Sony Mobile phone support

Hi. I was thinking of getting either the Xperia M2 Aqua or the Z3 Compact. My main concerns are:
    1. Asking for the Android version
The lady on the other end of the line albeit being polite says its "4.4" and that is what her "system is telling" her. This is itself is very inaccurate as there are other Kitkat versions of phones such as 4.4.1 / .2 / .3 / .4? Being on a Customer Support Line and working for Sony Mobile she should be more aware of the different versions and she should have asked a 2nd-line tech support person which she failed to do so.
    2. Known camera issue with the Z3 Compact
Issues such as the overall screen & photo quality being more of the "cooler" side (with pictures seemingly less natural, less sharp, less contrast), slow camera speeds, an "overwhelming" LED flash during night shots are all well documented on very well-known websites such as GSMArena. There seem to be a not-so polished, confusing, & low-quality camera software and an update is needed. The lady kept saying that in her own experiencre she did not encounter these issues. She refused to recognise the issues i have mentioned based on what i have read & seen from this very well-known tech websites as it was pretty much useless to base my opinions on phones in stores as the phones will either be on demo mode, are turned off, software is not updated, camera is covered by the phone holder, phone not connected to a wifi or there are no media files to try out. 5 out 5 times i went to O2, Vodafone, Three and Carphone warehouse stores this has been the case.
I have told the lady to at least make a note of my opinions, comments, complaints & suggestions and to forward it to the relevant people in Sony Mobile which she says she will be doing.
    3. Lollipop timeline
The phones i have mentioned have been out for months now. Lollipop has been out since November. Google themselves said that 1. they have made a way to make sure the Lollipop SDK or API gets to the OEMs (such as Sony)  in order for updates to hapen in an early manner and 2. Google stated that they would like to see updates to the latest Android version would not exceed 6 months which in my opinion is very late. The time a new Android version comes out there should be a "limit"of 3-4 months to update current-gen, flasgship phones and 6 months for the mid-range ones. So with those facts in front of us...why still no Lollipop timeline update?
The bottom line is your profits are slowing down and Sony is cutting on jobs. For people to like Sony phones again you must take in these opinions, comments, complaints & suggestions from us users, incorporate them on current & future software and hardware products coupled with timely and early and "as often" software updates then this would be a better world. I have had Android phones for the past 4 years and although not having a computer degree i think i know pretty much how phones work, etc.
Dear Sony...IMPROVE your customer service over phone (include a chat service please), LISTEN  to end-user complaints & suggestions, UPDATE in a realistic/timely/early manner and BE UP TO DATE to market and consumer trends.
    SORT YOURSELEVES OUT!

I have noticed two known bugs & issues in my Xperia Z2:
    1. Alam Clock
This alam clock bug appeared in my Z1 weeks ago and my current Moto G (4G) phone. When my phone is on Silent mode I set the alam clock to ring even on silent. When the alarm goes off in the morning its either i don't see a slider to cancel the alarm or it rings but i have to go to the alam clock settings and go to delete alams and the alarm stops which is 2-3 steps more than the slider. I had to resort to a 3rd-party alarm clock which helps but prefer the 1st-party one. Can anyone explain this?
    2. Charging
This issue again is not confined to the Z2 but also to my Moto G and my Nexus 5 which i had weeks ago. Charging the phone, regardsless of how many percent left is on the battery, it causes the screen to go "haywire". What i mean is the screen is almost unusable to the point that multiple tasks are being done at the same time i.e. opening Messages, pulling down the Notification panel, going to Album, etc. I have seen videos on Youtube and i'm not sure if Sony is aware of this. Any advice?
    3. Performance
I cannot fault the performance of the Z2. But i'm not the type who do benchmarking tests, etc. I still find sometimes some lag and is a tad slower than my Nexus 5 which has a slightly the same specs. I have speeded up the animations speed under Developer Options but i don't know what else to do.
I also do not believe that by resetting the phone these so-called bugs will go away as this seem to be a "default" advice whenever you ring customer support. I have reset the phone twice and they are still there.
    Please advice & help. Thanks.

  • What mobile devices support ios 5?

Will I be able to use my 3g iphone on icloud? What about my ipad? I've already discovered I would have to buy a new desktop, so will I have to replace my entire infrastructure once mobile me disappears if I'm going to get the benefits of inter-device communication?

If I use google sync, will I have to transfer the content of contacts and calendar
Yes, but its done quite simply when you set it up.
and change my email address to gmail
No. You can create a GMail address to setup the account, but you don't have to use it. You can continue using your @me.com email address as long as you move it to iCloud at http://me.com/move after setting up Google Sync. You can move your email to iCloud and use it on lesser systems, even though you can't sync contacts and calendars on those lesser systems through iCloud.
Will I then lose everything that's currently in my apple mail box?
No, because you'll still be using it.

  • Print from mobile phone

How can i print from my smart phone.  App already installed and computer is on

    Hi atubens,
Depending on what mobile phone and what printer you have, the solution could differ.
If you have an ePrint capable printer, universally you could email a print job to the printer's ePrint address.
If you have the HP ePrint Home and Biz app, you can print photos, documents and from the web over the local wireless network from within the mobile app.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

  • J2ME noobie - Mobile & PDA Support

I'm just getting started with J2ME and need some advice. I'm currently developing an application that is required to run on mobile phones and PDA's.
    Support:
I understand that there is no problem with mobile phone support for J2ME although I'm having great difficulty in determining support for PDA's.
Do PDA's need to download the KVM or are they already installed or is it manufacturer preference. If they do have to download the KVM where can I get my hands on it, been looking around the sun website but can't get much on it except for different versions like IBM JSomething but that costs.
    Emulators:
I've got the emulators that came with the wireless tool kit but need more anyone know where I can lay on different types of emulators.
if anyone has any further info on PDA & mobile development that would be appreciated.
    TIA

Ya. U need to download the KVM explicitly although u r using java enabled mobile...
U can do that by just downloading the java wireless Toolkit on ur mobile device....

  • Which mobile phones do actually support JavaFX?

    Hello,
im very interested in javafx for desktop application development. Since i can deploy my applications for mobile devices aswell, i would like to try that. Recently (yesterday) i bought a new mobile phone, a Nokia E71. I admit that i have absolutley no idea of mobile phone technology.
Which mobile phones are able to run javafx applications?
I read some articles, they said phones need to support the Mobile Service Architecture Specification (MSA) and need to meet the requirements of JSR 248 (i hope that is correct).
My phone supports Java MIDP 2.0, im not sure what this actually means and if JavaFX will work on it. There are so many informations that i lost the track a bit.
I would appreciate it if somebody could explain it to me.
    Best regards,
    Maximilian

    Hi Terrence,
i just tried to install the LocalSearch application, sadly it doesnt work. The installation process aborts with the following message:
    *"Application not compatible with phone!"*
I dont see any other ways to make it run. Wondering if there are any hacks, like upgrading to feature pack2?
Anyway i can still choose a different phone, any recommendations where JavaFX will definatley work? (should be equal or better than E71 features)
    Best regards,
    Maximilian
EDIT: it would be nice if somebody could try the LocalSearch demo on a S60 3rd edition, feature pack 2 or higher, or any full MSA compliant phone. And does it work with Windows Mobile 6.1 phones?

  • Which mobile phone`s support javaFX ?

    Hi
i`m a mobile application developer , i`m Interested about javaFX i want to know which mobile phone models support javaFX ? i cant`t get any information about this in nokia , sony ericsson and ... web site`s and documents
    thanks

To my knowledge, only Windows Mobile 6+ are currently supported... :-(
Moreover, currently, JavaFX 1.3 for mobiles isn't release, yet.
Look at the [Get page from JavaFX.com|http://javafx.com/downloads/all.jsp], there are release notes and installation instructions for mobiles.

  • Whats the best mobile phone for syncing to macbook?

I am about to buy a mobile phone and i want to know which one is the best, for ease of connection?

Personally, I would recommend any of the later Sony Ericsson models. Either the K800 or K610 (supported in iSync 2.4), or any of the additional models supported by iSync Phone Plugins from here.
You can see what data is synced on the page linked above. You can also use them with the Mac Address Book for SMS and Calls.

  • Does iSync not support your mobile phone?  try this.

Recently I got a Samsung A777 mobile phone. I wasn't able to learn everything about it before buying, but in absence of the information I couldn't get, it was the best choice for me. When I attempted to sync it with my Mac, iSync told me in so many words "This device is not supported by iSync". Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat.
So I did a little research. First I found this site http://blog.jayfields.com/2006/08/sync-your-samsung-phone-with-your-mac.html which links to this app http://homepage.mac.com/gaz/FileSharing13.html
After some experimenting, I discovered I can export in vCard 3.0 format, skip using the app, export a group of contacts to one file, and send it to the phone. Done. The address book on the phone contains one entry per name, each entry contains all of that person's numbers, and each number bears the correct icon for home, work, mobile, fax. Email addresses copy too.
This method of syncing is so easy I think nothing of deleting the entire address book from the phone, and uploading the whole contacts group again. Since that's what I've been doing, I don't know if uploading the contacts twice back-to-back would create duplicates. And as far as I know, there's no way to sync back from the phone.
But I don't care much about that. I'm fine recording a voice memo reminding me to make certain changes to an address book entry on the Mac and sync the whole thing again. Takes just a moment.
Perhaps in the future Samsung will be more SyncML and OpenSync friendly.

You can make this process a bit shorter by doing this:
    1) Drag the *Bluetooth File Exchange* application to your Dock.
    2) Set-up a Group in *Address Book* containing the contacts you want on your phone
Then, whenever you want to re-copy the contacts to your phone, just do this:
Open *Address Book* and drag the Contact group onto the *Bluetooth File Exchange* icon in your Dock.
(BTW, for true bi-directional syncing with iSync you might like to contact http://www.novamedia.de as they do iSync Plugins for over 60 existing Samsung phones, and may be able to do one for yours).

  • Phones that supports javafx

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me some phones that supports javafx. I want to test my application on a real device. I read about HTC Touch Diamont, but I am interesed if there are any other devices that supports javafx.
    Thanks.

Currently the javafx is not so much stable so that mobile companies would keep it. I think the javafx 2.0 may be sign of good stability of javafx.
    Thanks.
