As shame

Still in CS5 there is no option to disable slices when saving for the web.
Adobe you are slow.

michielponjee wrote:

And if you are dead set on specifically using the Save for Web function, just clear the slices, use Save for Web, and then 'step backward' from the Edit menu or history panel to restore the slices. If you do this often, make an action.

    What a shame...
I like the computer, I don;t have any of the issues many of teh people in these forums brought up and yet, Lenovo screwed up big time with the mini HDMI.
I must be able to connect my laptop to my external Apple monitor. This monitor has mini displayport.
No matter how hard I looked, I could not find a way to connect my laptop to the monitor unless I hooked 3 or 4 different adapters and have no idea if it even works.
What a shame. why couldn't Lenovo just include a different output. Oh well. Switching to 11" Air.
    Adios people and thank you.

    Would anything here work:

I've purchased home theater cables from this company many times, but never any of these type of items.

  • Lion 10.7.3 Update - Shame on you Apple !

Just updated my 2011 MBP Lion from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 and now I'm looking at it doing a long 5 hour Time Capsule Restore.
    Why ?
Well after the "update" which is not a update it's a "downdate" my MBP has gone wild:
    > very very poor performance: 40+ sec. boot time from 20 sec. on 10.7.2. Also incredible very poor performance after booting up loading widgets took forever, opening finder took forever etc.
    > poor network performance: i have a 4th Gen Timecapsule with a 450 Mbps wifi connection with my MBP and transfering 200 MB (to save my work before restore) took forever 150kbps from ~14 MBps in 10.7.2.
    > odd bug: could not change my background picture anymore in real time, only after restart.
    > sound didn't work anymore and connecting it by optical to sound system didn't help. By the way Apple, you have not been able to FIX multiple speaker setup in Audio Midi utillity.
    > smc and pram reset didn't help
All those things happened on a MacBook Pro 2011 2.2 Ghz Core i7 8Gb Ram and a Seagate Momentus XT.
SHAME ON YOU APPLE ! I am an ex-windows user and this kind of s*** didn't happen on Windows after an update. I've literally invested thousands of dollars into your products and this is how you treat me and other like me customers ?
I have to put my work on hold and lose precious time reinstalling your crap software because a crap update made it much more worst? I am really missing Steve, I guess he would hit your engineers with a bat before launching crap software like this !
I should have sticked with the Snow Leopard...
    Signing,
A very unhappy customer who cannot deliver his work because of Apple who is making fun of him and of other customers alike.
    SHAME ON YOU !

@dariocotti and @Devalin just looked at most of your posts... hmmm... i am thinking your a mess, not to mention very impatient, electronic and digital items are new to you eh? All joking aside, obviously your settings or something internal, hardware, software, or maybe its just the atmopheric pressure of being to high of an altitude. But WHOA... calm down. Make an appointment to an apple store, reinstall Lion, ask nicely for help, but dont bash what you dont understand. I trully believe that you might have been in areas you really shouldnt be unless you fully understand i.e, the application Terminal or maybe your cat sleeps next to the computer, and some minisule particle is affecting the workings... who knows... so many possibllities. Do you both have AppleCare? You could call the 800 number. @dariocotti @Devalin...It seems you have been having some issues for some time, well today is a great day to fix both your dilemas... just need some patience and some finger crossing that it is not hardare related. If it is software related, i.e. messed up permissions, or software malfunction (even user malfunction) ... that could all be fixed! I would try to start in safe mode... that you do by holding down the shift key, if it restarts, ok reinstall Lion imediately after by holding down the command + R key by restarting. (don't reinstall lion from your time capsule). Look, my email is in my profile, I will help yo both if you like, you can even ask me questions any time. If you use ichat, we can video confrence each other.  I am serious! Of course getting back to you sometimes might take some time, cause I do have a lot a homework from the university but I am an optimist and no dilema is really a dilema, everthing can be fixed (as long as it is not a hardware issue... lol).

  • Oracle and Pentium 4. It;s a ****** shame !! Not the first time...

    Just some frustration
I don't like it to be a beta-tester for a company like Oracle
    which makes that much profit.
    Five examples:
1999: Oracle Application Server 4.0.7. (OAS) on Windows NT.
Service pack 5 is installed on most NT boxes (even in
Afghanistan). Oracle logic...OAS 4.0.7 has to be installed with
    SP3....:-)
2000: The Oracle installer has a Y2K bug. No public
announcements made. A simple statement on Metalink and a hell of
a job to find the patch "installer 3.3.0.1 (??)"
1999/2000: Release of Developer 6 and Oracle 8.1.5.
First step: you've to install Developer 6. Second step: install
    the database.
Typical Oracle logic...:-). I do not start with the roof when
    I'm building a house.... A few months after the 8i release ,
Oracle published the proper installation procedure for this
    combination.
2000/2001: Designer 6iR2 cannot be uninstalled on Windows W2K.
A "beta tester" in the field (so..you or me), with the name
Dimitri, had to make a remark on OTN. Compliments to Brian Duff
of Oracle who initiated the release 4 of Designer.
2001: Oracle 8i cannot be installed on Pentium 4
machines..Cause..a bug in the universal installer.
Only with workarounds which partly work or do not not work at
    all. ... Oracle ..it's a shame.
Larry..many thousands of "oracle-fans" cannot appreciate your
arrogant attitude. These people want to work with stuff which
    can do the job !
They do not want to be beta-testers for the sake of increasing
Oracle profits. This policy reflects itself in higher costs for
the smaller companies..ie: buying Oracle software which does not
    work.
    Regards
    Martin Vonk

    Hi,
I don't think so. As soon as a question / request is too "hard
to answer" Oracle reacts with "radio silence" (like with the Y2K
    bug in Oracle installer).
The Intel website emphasis this bug in Oracle 8i products.
    It states:
If you are installing into Windows* 2000, one workaround
recommendation by Oracle for this problem is:
Install the latest Windows* 2000 Service Pack patch:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/
Create a temporary directory on your Intel Pentium. 4 processor
    server (e.g. \TEMP).
Copy the contents of the Oracle* Server CD to the temporary
    directory created in step 2.
Search the directory structure created in step 2 for the
    existence of the filename SYMCJIT.DLL.
Rename each copy of the SYMCJIT.DLL to SYMCJIT.OLD.
Run the SETUP.EXE from the \TEMP\install\win32 directory and
    install Oracle 8.1.x.
If you have any other questions on this work around, please
    contact Oracle
Up to now no reaction. Oracle sucks

  • Shame on Adobe ! Installing cr@p behind the user's back!  :~(

These are comments originally left on the Forum Comments forum.
    First, my original question:
    Can anyone enlighten me?
How did a folder named just "Adobe", containing only something called "Acrobat.com.app"), end up in my root Applications folder?
Double clicking on "Acrobat.com.app" launches an installer that wants to install something called "AIR".  What is that and what is it needed for?
Then someone pointed me to a Wikipedia article.
    acresofgreen wrote:
…In the case of AIR:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_air…
    Here's my grateful reply:
Thank you much.  That's where the answer to the mystery was:
Adobe  AIR was included with all downloaded installations of Adobe Reader 9  (released in July, 2008), with no option for exclusion either in the  download or in the installation. As of August 2010, Adobe still bundles  Adobe AIR (along with the application Acrobat.com) with the Adobe Reader  9.3 download, with no option for exclusion, and the installation file for Adobe Reader 9.3 still installs Adobe AIR without user permission.
    Shame on Adobe!
I've never downloaded or installed either Acrobat.com or Adobe AIR.  It has to have been the Acrobat Reader 9.3 update for the Mac that installed that sucker on my Mac. I had certainly never seen it before.
That, on top of the inexcusable, abominably surreptitious "Growl" installed by Adobe behind my back, strengthens my resolve not to acquire any more Adobe products, free or otherwise.
What in blazes are the Adobe corporate folks thinking?
Here's the public admission regarding Adobe installing GROWL without the user's consent:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2964739#2964739
Post #2 in that thread reads [emphasis mine]:
"Yes, the installer team (over the strong objections of product teams) installs Growl."
Finally, my last comment over there:
"Macromedia-ization™" has been the worst thing that has ever happened to Adobe.
Wherever he may be, I sincerely hope Bruce Chizen suffers from unstoppable diarrhea till the end of his days on this planet.
    Wo Tai Lao Le
    我太老了

Thank so much for this very interesting info. I do not like the Idea of Any company, specially one that I am spending money on, to install their garbage on my computer.
They do not have my permission to install garbage in MY computer.
I hope more people can read this and uninstall Adobe's garbage.
    Thank you Again Tai Lao

    Verizon Wireless! Shame on You!!!
Fire your IT Manager and your Web designers - those **bleep** who are making our experience on your web site so miserable.
It's a disgrace to have such a web site as a window to your customers.  It's an insult to all of us.
    1. You seem to be running your site on a dingy server that does not keep up with the load - it is toooo s l o w w w w w.
    2. The way you designed your home page SUCKS!
        - too cluttered
        - too busy
        - cannot navigate without going over land mines that we don't need (javascript onmouseovers) - **bleep**
    3. Your database backend connection, DB queries to our plans, phones, bills etc.. and presentation services ARE VERY SLOW - not suited for a business like yours.
Shame on you for making our life miserable.

Verizon Website is just the worst and its is NOT getting better, and don't ask me what internet browser I'm using, I have a new computer with it being 75% free, and I use both Explore, new version and Mozilla Firefox, new version and it sucks on both of them, also do not tell me about clearing my cookies or any of that, I do a once a week (complete) Norton 360 Scan of whole computer and then do a Defrag and Disk Clean Up I Defrag 4 times, I also make sure I no more that 6 programs running at all times, and my computers updates are ALL CURRANT. I'm very computer literate. I, my sister, her 2 kids and all of there friends are having the same problem. So are you saying it's all of us? This site needs to be upgraded NOW!!  I, my family and friends get updates to renew our Ringbacks, Ringtones, New stuff and so on... and choose to do it on the website VS a small phone, but most of the time we do not because this website is so slow, it gets hung up on all pages, re directs to another page, page errors, we don't bother because its so slow, and it just takes to much of our time. So Verizon you are loosing money.......Not only that your music selection is OLD, Ringtones and Ringbacks are OLD, you get stuff in way late. I have been a customer for 20 years or so, I have been with you when you where Airtouch, the service is getting worst and worst as the years go on. On Tech support I sometimes have to call back several times to get a Tech that actually knows what they are doing and NOT working with a SIMULATED PHONE, OR  one that owns the phone them selves. I'm a business woman and I have complained about this for years and now Im just sick of it...........
Verizon Wireless is a TIME BANDIT, YOUR TIME THIEFS YOU ARE ROBBING PEOPLE OF THERE IMPORTANT TIME. In this ECONOMY, SHAME ON YOU!! Apparently you do not care about being EFFICENT AND PRODUCTIVE COMPANY!!

  • Auto-installing McAfee with Flash?  Shame on you, Adobe.

As a longtime Adobe product user (Photoshop 3 through today, After Effects, Premiere and now CC subscriber) I was extremely disappointed and appalled when Adobe Flash Update installed McAfee without asking me.  I was so surprised, I went back to reinstall on another machine to see if I had missed a pre-checked box.  Guess what - no option to skip the McAfee on this update.
I have seen (and unchecked) the McAfee box in the past.  This time, it didn't ask.
This is not how reputable software companies do business Adobe.  I expect better form you!
There should never be software that is installed by default, just as "options" that many people avoid for secuirty reasons (like the check box for keep me signed in) should NEVER be checked by default.
If you want to stop developing Flash, or charge for it, fine.  But do not place programs on  my computer that I did not ask for.
Shame on you, Adobe.  Shame on you.

As already pointed out there is nothing we can do here to help you but
if you were after alternatives or what economists call substitute
products then clearly Microsoft is the best.  They have almost
everything Adobe has and their products are relatively less expensive
    than Adobe's.
Whether you like these alternatives is a different story altogether but
alternatives they are and there are others out there if you look for
them.  Search for Open Source products (free products) and you will be
    surprised what you get.

  • Shame on you Flash Player software team at Adobe

    Hello,
    Crash crash crash...
    Again and again...
Whatever it's version... whatever IE or FF... whatever Win 7 or Earlier XP... whatever the computer... whatever the website...
The only constant is that FLASH PLAYER plugin keeps on crashing !!
And after so many years and so many versions you just can't produce a reliable fix !!!  So shame on you guys at Adobe !
Actually the only question of this post is to know whether or not there is an existing alternative to your s h i t t y piece of software called Flash Player,, the question now is even no more to think how to get a fix, the question is how to get a substitute for that plugin.
Ooohh you guys at Adobe noted that I'm angry... don't be mistaken, I'm sure I'm not alone being angry at your plugin.
    Regards.

I have been experiencing this problem for the last two upgrades.  Today has really ticked me off.  I was in the middle of creating a custom photo book and just getting close to the end when Flash stopped working and asked if I wanted to wait for it to reload or stop the plugin.  It doesn't make any difference as I have tried both options.  It totally crashed and I lost everything, I was working on through Shutterfly.  With all of Adobe's skilled programmers, you people don't have a clue why this keeps happening???  Shame on you!
Totally ticked off right now so I will stop before I say something I may regret!

  • Shame on you, Adobe

Our experience with Adobe has been extremely negative.
With a rare exception, the reps are very unfriendly; they interrupt in a mid sentence, get rude ( "I am not going to waste my time on this...", etc.)
It took months and dozens of phone conversations to transfer the license from our ex-employee back to the company.
I mean those reps who actually speak the language of this country. When they escalate, you'll usually get someone picking up the phone in India.
This afternoon, after two rude and annoyed people, I got escalated to a tech, who, just simply hung up on me, after I asked the same question twice, since he was saying sheer nonsense. And these are the characters Adobe hires to represent itself?
Wow, shame, and shame again, Adobe.
You are deliberately turning your loyal, and long-running customers away. Well, this is exactly what you'll get.

As already pointed out there is nothing we can do here to help you but

  • Today, I had to choose only one mail. Really a shame for Blackberry.

I'm a french Blackberry user for many years. Today, on my Torch, I was asking by Blackberry to enter my password. No more mail on my phone... Blocked.
I have a smartphone, a kind of hardware, and I did not know that Blackberry can block my mails !!!
    Strange, is'nt it ?
    Is it legal ?
    OK. I did it.
What a surprise after that !! I had to choose only one mail address... so I have to choose between my mails and my pro planning via Yahoo.... (I bought a small soft fo that)
I bought a Blackberry for security, well built phones and so...
Now, I was asked to choose for a restricted service, decided by Blackberry.
I have no choice, or my mails are blocked...
It's really a shame and not fair.
Of course, no way to reach them directly.
If Blackberry don't move, I will choose others....
To be free today is really a challenge...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you are in the same situation, contact me.

  • Safari Sham Security and Software Upgrade Notice

Last night I clicked on a doodle poll to enter my name and I got a notice in Safari saying:
    Safari - Alert
    Major Security Issue
To fix it please call Support for Apple
    +1 800-680-4131 (Toll Free) immediately!
I did not call the number but called Apple Support. After waiting 45 minutes for an agent, he walked me through a number of steps to block those kinds of messages and to increase the security on my laptop. He agreed it was a sham notice and that it was phishing.
We appeared to have resolved the problem, but after shutting down and restarting my computer, later that evening another message popped up in Safari, this time telling me that some software program was in urgent need of updating. I closed Safari and went to Firefox for the rest of the evening.
Has anyone else experienced this new problem in Safari?
I recently upgraded to Yosemite and have had other problems with Mac Mail, which I think I have resolved, but this Safari thing has me spooked.

  • X201 upgrade to ssd = pay $50 for new windows key!!! Shame

A bit of a rant but hope some of you can learn from my mistake.
x201 oem hd was going out so i replaced a new ssd, sounds simple right?
Downloaded windows 7 home premium and entered the key on the bottom of my notebook and windows says the key is invalid.
Chat with microsoft and they said it is an oem version of windows and therefor I needed to speak to lenovo
Spoke to Lenovo, had a nice person on the phone, and they said:
-"well the windows key you have is to a version that is like half of windows"
    - I'm thinking to myself well there was no option to pay for only half of it when i brought it
    - lenovo rep "you need the recovery disks etc"
    - I explained x201 has no cd drive, and never did receive any disc
    - lenovo rep says "well you will need to buy a cdrom drive to usb, and also buy a recovery disc from us. If you had asked for a disc while you were in waranty we would have sent it free. But unfortunately now its $50. Sorry I'm sure we knew we didn't send the discs on purpose but thats what they have been doing"
Really bad tactics from Lenevo here.
    1. I now need to pay $50 for what I already paid for!
    2. Customer didn't really know they only got half of windows
    3. Customer paid for full windows?
And to think I just brought the company some more thinkpad notebooks.. maybe its time to take my business elsewhere. Shame for such pettiness as they do build solid machines, even though I have had a bit of trouble with mine.

I am going to stick an oar in here because this is misunderstood by many, including myself until recently.
I know the tech support person told you that what you get is a half version of windows, that is not entirely true. And just so that you know, this is a Microsoft thing so it affects all OEM's not just Lenovo.
When you purchase a new computer with Windows installed on to it, you are buying a full copy of the software. What you are not buying is tech support from Microsoft. The OEM has to provide Windows Tech Support for you. Most people never really find out what this means because the computer runs fine, or when it stops running fine, they run out and purchase a new computer.
You have a copy of Windows licensed by Lenovo. So any media used to repair your computer has to come from Lenovo. The download program that Microsoft has now is only for versions of Windows purchased in a retail box, or from their online retailer DigitalRiver. Because your copy of Windows is Licensed by Lenovo to be installed on Lenovo computers, any tech support or repair downloads have to come thru Lenovo.  You can download every version if Windows and it will not accept the key on the computer. For your key to work you need to get a copy of Windows from Lenovo.
I know this sucks but it is a licensing issue. As I said, it is the same way at Dell, IBM, Gateway, and any other company that builds systems for resale. Many small shops that buy builders licenses are also affected.
But there is a possible way out for you, bananaman mentioned it. Clone the drive. Or if you created recovery media, you can use it as well, but the drive you install it on will have to be the exact same size as the one that came with the computer.

  • OSPF Sham-link

Does anyone know exactly how the ospf sham-link operates. By default bgp learned routes do not get a label assigned (only the next hop). OSPF sham-link host interfaces MUST be advertised by BGP and not the ospf process. This says to me that the sham-link CANNOT be lable switched throughout the core network. However every document not very clearly always states the sham-link will follow the label forwarding table.
    snippit below
The source and destination IP addresses
must belong to the VRF and be advertised by Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to remote PE routers. The
sham-link endpoint addresses should not be advertised by OSPF.
Anyone any decent explanation of why this is.

The sham link is used to perfer the path via MPLS BGP VPN backbone instead of the backdoor link when it exists between two sites. The sham link is just like a virtual link and are configured between the 2 PE devices that connect to CE devices which have a backdoor link between them. Loopback interfaces are used to configure the sham link on the PE devices, and these are advertised thru BGP so that the PE devices can reach these addresses only thru the backbone and not included in OSPF so that the PE devices will not try to reach them through the backdoor link. Since the addresses are learned via BGP and there is a label assoicated with the BGP next-hop for these addresses (which might be another loopback or a physical address on the PE devices), the sham link between the PE devices can be label switched and OSPF routes are exchanged over this sham link ro prefer the routes via the backbone.
