As soon as i connect my ipod classic it ejects itself

please, how do i stop my ipod from ejecting itself?

Hi,
Apple support has fixed this issue for me as it seems to be a common issue with itunes 11.
Go to top left of itunes and select "show menu bar" - this will then display "file, edit, view..." menu on top left.
Go to view and select "show sidebar" and then connect your ipod.  This should now work for you.
Apparently with the hidden sidebar the very first time you connect it has a hard time recognising it.  After you follow the above steps and connect the first time you will no longer have this issue and you can connect the ipod and keep the sidebar hidden in the future.
Hope this helps.

  • Itunes runs fine, but as soon as I connect my Ipod Classic it says it's...

stopped working. I run Windows 7 Home Premium and Itunes v10.2.1.1. Windows tries to say that if it can find a solution it will, but it never does. Very frustating indeed...
    Any ideas anyone!

Your Windows 7 should be recording additional information about those.
Head into your Action Center, find your Problem History, and look for iTunes problem reports generated at the time of the errors. Open them up and have a look through.
Do they all seem to be saying pretty much the same thing? If so, paste the contents of a typical problem report into a reply here so we can have a look.

  • I am trying to connect my ipod classic to a tv and have tried many cables including the Apple composite AV cable.  No success.  Any thoughts?

I am trying to connect my ipod classic to a tv (sony bravia 1080p) and have tried many cables including the Apple composite AV cable with the 30 pin connector on one end and three RCA connectors on the other.  Audio works but video does not.  The ipod classic screen says to connect to device when it is already connected. No success.  Any thoughts?

My Itunes locks when I connect my Ipod classic.  I have the latest version of Itunes as of 10/31/11.  Anyone have any fixes?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Can i connect my ipod classic to my car radio via bluetooth so that I can listen whilst driving?

Can I connect my Ipod Classic to my car radio using bluetooth (or any other way) so that I can listen through my radio whilst driving?

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.
Get one with charger or else you iPod might run out of battery faster.

Assuming you have windows, try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

  • I've just downloaded itunes 12 and when I connect my IPod classic 160gb, I tunes shows it'sP name briefly and then then ipod silhouette at the top left simply greys out and nothing else happens. Please advise.

I've just downloaded itunes 12 onto my pc. When I connect my IPod classic 160gb, it's name shows up briefly before the ipod silhouette at the top left simply greys out and nothing happens.
    Please advise.

I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!!

  • Itunes keeps shutting down when I connect my IPod Classic

Itunes shuts down whenever I connect my IPOD classic  and sync attempts to start.  I have had this IPod for several years and I have had Windows 7 for over 6 months.  I am trying to update versions, but I get an error message with that also.I have also seen posts on Microsoft and they aren't helpful.....I have seen many posts on Itunes also regarding same issue. What is up when the company will not fix their problems with the products?

I downloaded the 64bit system....did it like 3 times.   Finally, I found some other helpful hints.  I tried loading ITUNES in safe mode, still couldn't get it to not shutdown once I connected the IPod, I then logged into one of my other user accounts, then I was able to restore the settings, however, it removed all my songs and syned with the Itunes on that user acct (which was my nano IPod).  That was ok, because then I was able to go back to my regular account and sync and updated all my songs....just had to have my kids authorize me again on Itunes.  Think it's a racket to keep upgrading, changing things and not supporting the stuff that still works.....my classic works just fine nd holds 5,000 songs...I only have about 1500; so I have long way to go.  When my display cracked and the LCD was all messed up. I sent it to IFIXIPODS fast.com and they replaced it, quick and cheap--hats off to them!

  • Can I connect my iPod classic or universal dock with optical

Can I connect my iPod classic or universal dock with optical?

Well, no... not at least with the Apple docks.
Optical Audio is also called S/PDIF. It is a purely digital signal designed for specific kinds of home theater and HIFI systems.
The iPod classic does not have such a connection... that being said,  HOWEVER
There are some iPod docks that use S/PDIF out.

  • How to connect 2 iPod classics with bluetooth

I am trying to sync photos between 2 iPod classics, iPad4 and iphone 5 with blue tooth. The only devices that are seeing each other is the iPhone and iPad but still hasn't' synced the photos. Why re the apple devices not able to see each other?

    Havilah Farm wrote:
Why re the apple devices not able to see each other?
Because that's the way Apple have designed it. They have used a particular Bluetooth protocol that is designed to allow audio to be transmitted to Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers (for example) and some peer-to-peer gaming between the devices, but not the transfer of files.
To transfer photos, Sync them via your iTunes programme. If you took the photos on the device, transfer them to your computer first and then Sync them with the other devices. For photos that were not taken on the device, they presumably were Synced from your computer originally, so simply Sync them to your other devices from the computer.
By the way, your subject question: "how to connect two iPod Classics with Bluetooth"...
You cannot. The Classic does not have Bluetooth.

  • CAN I CONNECT MY IPOD CLASSIC TO ANY COMPUTER AND UPDATE ANY MUSIC THAT I HAVE PURCHASED FROM ITUNES ON MY IPAD?

CAN I CONNECT MY IPOD CLASSIC TO ANY COMPUTER AND UPDATE ANY MUSIC THAT I HAVE PURCHASED FROM ITUNES ON MY IPAD?

Plug the iPod into the new computer.  When it pops up on the left sidebar, right-click on the iPod and select "Transfer Purchases".  Make sure that you Authorize the computer to play content purchased with that account, or else the music will not play.
