AS2 as transport protocol and AS2xml as message protocol

Dear All
AS2 adapter has been installed in our landscape ,when I am trying to select the transport protocol and message protocol ,I can only see AS2 as transport protocol and AS2xml as the message protocol instead of the normal HTTP/ HTTPs for the Transport protocol and AS2 as message protocol.COuld anyone tell me if there is a problem.We need to send xml messages over the AS2 adapter and receive MDN's.

This two can have different attributes which were assigned in the adapter metadata. Please see this help for some info on this:

Go to SAP BASIS 6.40 or 7.00 software compoenent and open namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. Go to Adapter objects and open Adapter metadata. Then open any adapter. Here you can see all the properties of your adapter which support.

Message protocol is different for sender and receiver JDBC

In File adapter the message protocol can be either FTP or NFS for both sender as well as receiver. but for JDBC adapter the message protocol is JDBC and for receiver adapter the message protocol is XML SQL Format or native sql string only. Why this is different ? Why cant we use JDBC as message protocol for receiver also ?
I thought JDBC is the message protocol for JDBC adapters irrespective of whether they are sender or receiver. Can someone throw light on this ?

Purpose of message protocol file and file content conversion

i am currently working in idoc to file scenario,
In what cases we will go file and file content conversion in message protocol for file adapter.
can anyone specify the real significance of it? bcoz this may help me and continue my scenario in its suitable path.

In XI (internal) all XML message are based on the XI Message Protocol.

XI Protocol is nothing but an SAP XI extension of SOAP protocol and SOAP protocol is nothing but a SOAP request in a HTTP protocol. SOAP request is nothing but SOAP extension of an XML message. Hence finally it drill downs to the fact that XI message is in fact an XML message with some extra information in the header which are SAP specific like the SAP Runtime, SAP Hoplist, etc...
File Content Conversion
Integration Engine understands only XML messages.Now if u r handling normal text file such as 'tab separated' file,'# separated' file, or a CSV file, you need to convert the content of the file to XML and File Content Conversion mechanism helps to do this job.This File Content conversion mechanism(option)is present with the File Adapters.both Sender and Receiver.

Hi all, I don't know if this the right place to ask my question,here it goes.
I am looking to develop a client-server that supports multiple protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS etc. I am looking for a framework( i don't know if that is correct or I need some kind of web-service (soap etc)) that would manage connection, security etc. I would like to like to devote most of my time in developing business objects with multiple delivery mechanism such as sending serilized java objects, xml message or soap message, or in some case JMS message as well. So I need a client server that can come in via TCP/IP or HTTP or anyother industry standard protocol and I should be able to service him with pub/sub model and also request/response model as well.
I don't know if I had explained what I need, I would like to know what technologies I should be evaluating and which direction I should be heading... Also the server I'm developing should be free of Java constraints if needed...
Also this service is not webbased service as now but if need arises I should have a flexibilty to make them web enabled in future. Also I would like to work with open source webservers or appservers if I need

To change the border of the current client, you can use bn to use the normal border (including window title), bp to use a 1-pixel border (no window title) and bb to make the client borderless. There is also bt which will toggle the different border styles.
Examples:

Thanks so much everyone for your suggestions. Iu2019ve tried them all and hereu2019s what I now have:
Anil u2013 Active datasources were included in the original transport. I tried retransporting and got the same error messages.
Voodi u2013 0ACCOUNT_TEXT was resident in the Q system as a 3x datasource. I replicated it as a 70 datasource in D and this is what was transported to Q. It is a 7.0 datasource in Q. I got the same error messages when I tried transporting just the transformations.
Jayaram - 0ACCOUNT is active in the Q system and is currently being used in transformations other than the one Iu2019m trying to import.
Godhuli u2013 I not only re-replicated the datasource in D, I reactivated the transformations and DTPs and resaved the InfoPackages. I tried retransporting with a new transport request and it failed with the same error messages.
Is there anything else anyone can think of?

PI 7.3 AEX - XI 3.0 message protocol in the SOAP adapter.

Hello,
My client's landscape is on SAP PI 7.3 AEX(Java only installation) and SAP ECC 6.0 EhP4.
I have configured a HTTP-Proxy scenario. For the proxy messages to go into the SAP ECC system, I have configured a SOAP Receiver adapter in PI 7.3 AEX.
I have created a service interface in ESR in PI 7.3 and generated the proxy in the SAP ECC system.
I have configured the SOAP receiver to use the XI 3.0 protocol and by using the Addressing Type as 'URL Address'. The URL that I am using is " http://<SAP_ECC_server>:PORT/sap/xi/engine?type=entry ".
When I try to test the scenario, the messages are not reaching the target ECC destination and in the SOAP Receiver communication channel, I am getting the following error:

Now, in my client estate there is also a SAP PI 7.11 system, I have replicated the service interface in the ESR on 7.11 and regenerated the proxy in SAP ECC. When I now run the scenario, it works.
Just stressing here on the point that, the abap proxy generated from SAP PI 7.3 ESR did not work(but worked when I generated the abap proxy from SAP PI 7.11 ESR) when configured using the XI protocol on the SOAP adapter.
ALso, I have gone through the 'Note 1247043 - Release Restrictions for EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1'.
Is the behaviour I am facing a release restriction on SAP PI 7.3
Need suggestions from anyone who has tried configuring this scenario, is there anything that I have missed?

Even i am also facing the same issue in receiver soap adapter for abap server proxy:
SOAP: error occured: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
Please let me know how did u resolve this?

HT203200 I upgraded to 11.4 and get error message -50 when trying to signin. My PC is XP.

I reinstalled iTunes 10.? as could not previously show all new podcasts and apps, only some, this new upgrade showed all new podcasts and apps. But then could not sync at all so I downloaded 11.4, now I cannot signin and get ''We could not complete you iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (-50).''. Have turned off Windows firewall to no avail. Firewall is not enacted in my other anti-virus program.

In the research I have been doing it seems like this specific error is usually caused by some sort of security software as it secures incoming and outgoing packets. Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
There are other steps in the article but they are more for restoring/syncing issues. I feel these are the important ones for your situation.

Hard Drive Crash and Mac Mail Messages

The 160GB hard drive in my 17" Mac Book Pro blew up. I was able to get all my files off before it would not reboot in any mode...except for my mac mail messages, which I forgot about until it was too late. I have logged on to the web and can see them there, but my question is, when I get my laptop back with a new blank hard drive and set up mac mail again, will it pull in my messages from the mac server, or will the server delete them (and then I lose them forever) when it doesn't see them on my laptop?

Setting up an email client with a new computer won't erase the copies of the email on the web; they are only deleted if you explicitly delete them, or if the client is set to use the POP protocol and the option to delete them on the server when they are transferred to the computer is chosen. If the IMAP protocol is used, the messages are not automatically downloaded to the computer upon receipt, and are available only on the web unless saved manually.

SAP XI Adapter: XI - Does it understand Message Protocol XI 2.0

Hello everybody,
first of all, system description:
We're using Sap Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 - Support Package 9
We are trying to communicate with SapXi through the XI Adapter. Now the problem:
Our Adapter, which sends a message to XI only "speaks" the old Message Protocol "XI 2.0". As the XI Adapter acting as a Receiver (XI is sending to our Adapter) is able to switch between the Message Protocol "XI 2.0" and "XI 3.0" we're wondering if this also possible if our adapter sends messages to the XI Adapter?
Another problem is the basic authentication. At the moment I'm not able to connect to the right client-id through a browser. If I send a HTTP-Request to http://host:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry i'm not able to login with various users (which are client100-users). I also tried port 8100 but it seems to be a redirect to port 8000.
Has anyone some infos on that? I tried to find some in the online-help but I can't find any documentation regarding the XI Adapter.

Hi Sascha,
In the channel definition for the XI adapter you can choose which message protocol is used: XI 2.0 or XI3.0.
For your second problem, in the HTTP-Request you can add the userID, password, namespace, client etc. For example:

But while writing the output u need the file as
1000 , J, SAP
Then u have to go for File Content Conversion at the Receiver adapter.
Similarly ,consider the other way around u are sending the file input as
1000 , J, SAP   and u want XML , then u have to do FCC in sender adapter.

Sender SOAP AXIS message protocol

i have developed the scenario and in rwb channel show active with out error and its not pulling XML data from URL.
when i open the URL in browser i can see the XML data?
