AS2 over FTP

Hi All
I have few doubts regarding AS2. They are given below.
1) What is Van- AS2 and FTP - AS2? What is the differences between those?
2)Does AS2 and FTP has any relation?
3) Is AS3 protocol allowed in B2B 11g?
Please reply if you have some idea on any of these.

Hi Don,
1) What is Van- AS2 and FTP - AS2? What is the differences between those? There is nothing like FTP-AS2. FTP (transport protocol) is part of generic exchange (exchange protocol) and AS2 is an exchange protocol which supports SMIME over HTTP or HTTPS.
2)Does AS2 and FTP has any relation?No.
3) Is AS3 protocol allowed in B2B 11g?Not yet supported.

  • AS2 over HTTP Send port question.

I have an application that builds and  sends flat and EDI files to FTP, FILE, SqlAdapter send ports and now they want AS2 over an HTTP port, I understand the AS2 settings (using party resolution, etc.) what I don't get is how/what exactly is receiving
the message on the other side... They don't have a web service nor a page, I created a site to test but what do I do? Send an edi file to a url????
    Bico Bielich

From your question I understand, you have been asked to send message through AS2. Do they also going to receive message through AS2 from their party? Is your question is about how to receive the message through AS2 which you also want to send over AS2?
    You can configure
BTSHTTPReceive.dll to receive messages over HTTP and configure the Receive location with AS2 EDI pipeline component to receive messages over AS2 into BizTalk which can be subscribed by your send port filter or Orchestration ( if you have any process
to be applied before sending the message over AS2 send).
Check the Tutorial-3 part of AS2 which illustrate an example which receives an AS2 message through BTSHTTPReceive.dll.
    Tutorial 3: AS2 Tutorial
And following references shall help you configure the BTSHTTPReceive.dll:

  • AS2 over HTTPs

    Hello!
Could anyone please help me with a AS2 configuration over HTTPs? We would like to send data to our partner.
When I am activating HTTPs I am getting the following screen:
Can anyone tell me which certificate is expected in the field "server certificate (keystore)"? Where should this certificate be stored?
Does anyone know where to find a documentation for AS2 over HTTPs?
    Thank you!
    Regards
    Christian

    Hi Christian
If you want to be able to see the actual filenames in the audit log, you can use this neat trick Unknown use case of DynamicConfigurationBean: Store file name to JMS header without mapping by Stefan Grube
For this, you need to use a two step DynamicConfigurationBean instead of one, and use the write/read operations instead of the insert operation.
Your processing sequence would be like this:
    1) Module name - AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean, Module key - getFilename
    2) Module name - AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean, Module key - setAS2Filename
    And the configuration parameters:
    1) getFilename parameters:
    key.0           write http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File FileName
    value.0        module.filename
    2) setAS2Filename parameters:
    key.0           read http://seeburger.com/xi/AS2 dtAS2FileName
    value.0        module.filename
This will write and read the filenames from the DynamicConfiguration fields and store them into the adapter framework module variable. Note that the value in "value.0" can be any arbitrary value but needs to have the prefix "module.", example "module.var1"
Using this approach, you would be able to see that actual value from the dynamic configuration header being stored into the module variable. An example below (note again that my scenario is in the reverse order, i.e. AS2 File Name --> FTP File Name)

  • File Data over FTP

    Hello everyone,
I have a project in which I need to generate stats about a directory that is only accessible over FTP. The FTP folder could sometimes have 6,000 files in it (maybe more). I've tried several different FTP libraries, but none of which have really had what I need.
I do not need to manipulate the files at all, I just need to grab data on them... such as the filename and date modified.
I'm really stumped on this, could anyone give me some direction as to what approach I should take on this project? Am I crazy for trying this is Java?
    Thanks in advance,
    -mc88

I've decided FTP is probably the wrong approach for this, so I'm putting a script on the server to run ls, output the list to a text file. and then download it to java.
But if anyone has any better ideas. Let me know! :-)

  • AS2 to FTP sceanario- time out error

    Hi All
I am using AS2 to FTPS scenario.
The message was shown twice in RWB(successful).
But it showed failure in moni and shows a 500 timeout error.
Why it is showing error in moni if it is processed successfully??
and how can i fix it?

    Hi!
Changes here of course affect all scenarios passing through the Integration Engine. So try to increase the values with care. But on the other hand: Teh only "negative" effect when increasing timeout values is that all scenarios might run in a timeout later than now. If your PI has to handle extensve volumes this might become critical for hardware ressources, especially memory (but I think only then).

  • PSD files sent over FTP given 1kb file size, archived, and have .bin appended to extension

I'm trying to deliver PSD files to someone over our server's FTP. If the FTP shared folder is accessed via a browser (like safari which is the main thing I've been testing on), the files in are listed as being only 1kb in size when each is approximately 60MB and all have had .bin appended to the .psd file extension. When the file is downloaded it's still 1kb and when opened it is associated with the archive utility which attempts to unarchive it and produces and identically named and extensioned file of 4kb size which cannot be opened by preview or text edit or photoshop.
Changing the extension does not help as suggested here http://forums.appleinsider.com/archive/index.php/t-25119.html . Also if the file is downloaded via 3rd party FTP software like cyber duck, though the file size is listed as 1kb, the correct size file is downloaded though still has the .bin extension. When this full sized .bin file is opened, archive utility instead of unarchiving attempts to archive it and produces a file roughly half the size which too cannot be opened. Speaking with apple care resulted in the suggestion that I use terminal command line to force the client to use binary mode when downloading the file which also downloads a file of correct size but with the .bin extension and that can not be opened.
Is this a known issue with PSD files? I've not come accross this before, the server is configured correctly and different file types are successfully downloading with no changes to size or extension and then opening as they should upon receipt at the client side.

    Hi and thanks,
that was my next port of call but I stumbled across a more permanent fix. Mac OSX server automatically converts files sent over FTP to something called MacBinary on the fly and it seems this process doesn't agree with PSD files. Someone else encountered this problem back in 2003 and found this solution
    http://forums.appleinsider.com/archive/index.php/t-25119.html
speaking to apple care they also sent a link for the official mac instructions for achieving the same thing here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20996
    and here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20645?viewlocale=en_US
in the second explanation it's important to note for anyone attempting to follow this that if you're fixing the problem on MacOsX server rather than just MacOSX it isn't necessary to enable the root account as it is automatically enabled by default. Simply log out and log back in as root and use the same password as the first administrator account you set up when the server was first configured.

  • Receiving document with AS2 over http

In Oracle B2B if I have to receive the document with AS2 over http, what can be the URL? The fusion server is running in a linux server. There is a folder in that server where we can preserve the incoming files for further processing.

    Hi Anuj,
The solution you have provided work, in the sense that the b2b server is receiving the file.
But after the receipt I am seeing two errors, the sender is sending a text file, with the name xxxx.txt.
    The errors are:

  • How can I create symlinks, that it can see users over FTP-.

    Hi,
I have started FTP on my Mac OS X 10.8 Server. And I need now in the FTP folder to add (link) some other directories, that I need, that the people can reach.
I try it via symlink, but the FTP doesn't see it. I can see it only over sFTP, but when I try to go to this directory, I have only errors "Can't access it". I try to set permissions too, but nothings helped.
Please can anybody help me and tell me, how can I add links, that it's seen and accessible over FTP.
    Thanks.

Better?  Safer?  Sure.  Don't use ftp.  Intercepting ftp traffic is trivial, which means you're basically posting your login credentials.  Who knows what will then gets transferred to the ftp server.
In general, you're looking for the classic use of a dropbox; a classic lowercase-d dropbox, and not the cloud-based file-sharing service now known by that name.
For folks that need access to specific folders, I'd set up a login that only has access to the target folder(s), and would then set up the dropbox folder to allow only write-only access for that login, and probably then with a folder action or a local service or a cron or launchd job that moves the arriving files somewhere else.
Note that this appears more complex than you're probably considering with ftp not because of the use of sftp, but because allowing even remote ftp users read access into the dropbox cab lead to the same problems — exposed credentials meanthat  the other contents of the dropbox are exposed, and remote users can load all sorts of stuff into the dropbox.
Here's a Google version of the dropbox and a Superuser discussion.  I don't know of a pre-packaged packaged ftp or sftp server or an available set-up script that provides the dropbox features off-hand, but I'd look for third-party clients such as Rumpus, and see if one of those has that feature.

  • SEEBURGER integration using PI: BIS, BIC, AS2 Adapter, FTP ?

    Hi All,
we are exploring on EDI project, where sap ecc is integrated with an seeburger edi partner via PI.
the integration involves: EDI ANSI X12 documents like 850, 855, and UN/EDIFACT documents like DESADV
for this while searching, i came across:
    1. the wiki content created by Prateek Raj Srivastava, http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/SeeburgerSuiteforSAPPI
    2. a presentation by sam raju http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00f9cdf5-d812-2a10-03b4-aff3bbf792bf?QuickLink=events&overridelayout=true
I was trying to find out, what all we need in PI..
in PI, what type of communication channel can be used,
can we use FTP adapter, that is comes by default in PI.
or is it necessary to buy something (adapter or content) from SEEBURGER.
after searching little more on seeburger front, got to know that there are:
    BIS (Business Integration Server)
    BIC (Business integration Converter)
    AS2 adapter.
is BIC is an adapter, that we can select as adapter type, while creating the communication channel.
the presentation by sam raju, describes "Configuring BIC as Module", if BIS is configured as a module, what is the type of communication channel in ID.
is AS2 adapter is part of BIS or BIC.
for integration using PI, out of  BIS, BIC, AS2, what all is minumum required?
what are the roles of BIS, BIC and AS2 in the context of integration using PI.
    thanks in advance.
    Madhu_1980

    >>in PI, what type of communication channel can be used,
Any. Using Seeburger Adapter for EDI communication is not mandatory.
    >>can we use FTP adapter, that is comes by default in PI.
Yes, you can use it to send even EDI files.
    >>or is it necessary to buy something (adapter or content) from SEEBURGER
To convert EDI-xml file to EDI, you have to use Seeburger BIC module which has to be purchased.
    >>is BIC is an adapter, that we can select as adapter type, while creating the communication channel.
No, it is an adapter module.
    >> BIS is configured as a module, what is the type of communication channel in ID.
Don't get confused between BIC and BIS. BIC is a module and BIS is a separate middleware provided by Seeburger just like PI. You can use BIC module in any channel which supports use of adapter module.
    >>is AS2 adapter is part of BIS or BIC.
AS2 can come with BIS middleware. It is type of adapter while BIC is module.
    >>for integration using PI, out of BIS, BIC, AS2, what all is minumum required?
For EDI communication, BIC is required (if you don't want to create your own modules). AS2 is required only when some partner demands the use of AS2 protocol for communication.
    >>what are the roles of BIS, BIC and AS2 in the context of integration using PI.
Already explained. Forget BIS when you already have PI.

  • Lob over ftp/http

    Hi!
    I've got a problem:
I have a table with lobs and urls
and i want to send these lobs (over http/ftp)
when user trys to retrive the file
with given url. I'm using Oracle 8 R2 with
    OAS.
    Thanks in advance

A bit more info to help you understand this stuff..
Whenever you type in a URL such as http://www.cisco.com, here is what happens:
    - the PC first uses a service called domain name service (DNS) to determine the IP address that corresponds to www.cisco.com. The use of names such as www.cisco.com are just a convenience. The actual locations of these services is determined based on IP address.
    - once the PC determines the IP address, it will use the HTTP protocol to open a session with the web server located at this IP address
    - if a web server is indeed runing at this address, the server will respond with HTML (other formats are possible) pages that correspond to what you actually requested
So how did those web pages get to this web server ? If you are sitting at the server, you could simply copy some files from say, C:\my webpages\* to say, C:\htdocs\. In my example, any files you place in C:\htdocs will will accessible by opening a HTTP session to the server. Now what do you do if you are remotely located and cannot get to the web server ? One option is to use FTP, a file transfer program. You would then open an FTP session to this server and use that to transfer files to the C:\htdocs folder on your server. To do that, however, you will need to set up an FTP account on that server for you. As you can see, FTP is a tool that may be used to update web pages but there is no other intrinsic relationship between FTP and web-hosting.
    Hope that helps.
    Pls remember to rate posts.

    Paresh.

  • Storing video files over ftp on wless LAN

    Hello,
I want to be able to store my files on a hidden NAS in my house, that is accessible via an exiting Wireless Access Point.
Any ideas on any decent-priced NAS's out there, that will allow me to use FTP Filezilla to store video jpgs from about 8 wireless Cisco Video Cameras?
    Thanks

    Hi Eric,
    Thanks!
    This is a great start.
For this site, I am using two WVC2300s and 5 WVC210s.
All seems to be working out ok so far.
I typically do not stream over the Internet, but I do on occasion.
I set up my cameras to use ftp and filezilla.
Every camera uses their own ftp user id and password.
When a camera senses motion it ftps .jpgs at 1FPS for a duration of 5seconds.   I have a duration interval of 1 minute, so the camera will not resume ftp'g until a minute has elapsed between motion-detection events.
I set up filezilla so each user (camera) has their own Home Directory.  That way I can see what motion events were recorded for each camera just by looking at the folder.
I seem to get about 12kb per jpg (if my memory serves me right).
Note an interesting thing I ran into.
I set up a google email account to send jps to for motion detection, and google shut me down for 24 hours because of the quantity of jps I sent.
I think I have the BASIC VMS (as opposed to the AVMS).  Are the two different?  If so, how.
I know the BVMS was free.  Do you have to pay for AVMS?
I was simply going to change the listening port on each camera from the default of 80 to other ports and then access them individually over the internet from my web browser.
Maybe the VMS software is a better method...???
Thanks for all your help so  far Eric.
These cameras are great and I have had a lot of fun setting them up!

  • Set up binary mode for backup over FTP

    Hello!
I am about to set up the backup for Oracle DB from Tcode DB13.
My SAP systems are installed on Windows (64 Bit).
The backup data should be saved on the Unix-Samba share via FTP.
If I execute DB-Backup the backup is successful, BUT:
The file names are very strange e.g. <i>S3FV1~6</i>
The second problem is that the files will be written to the wrong directory
(I have set the path to "sap/backup" and the files will be written to "sap").
    My question is:
I have heared about <b>“binary mode”</b> during backup procedure…  <b>With which parameters in init<DBSID>.sap can I set up binary mode for the backup?</b>
<b>Which other FTP-server-parameters or settings in file init<DBSID>.sap are responsible for this issue?</b>
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
    this program may help:
http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html (You need the older version for Panther)
You can use it to clone your internal HDD to your external one, and then clone your external one to your internal one after you erase (and write zeros to ensure everything is gone) using Disk utility (I can't vouch for the actual security of this, but 'apparently' if you do the highest setting it will be secure) after booting from an OS X DVD. This is depends on the drive having the ability to boot, however.
After you run Cabon Copy Cloner/Clone your HDD see if you can boot from the drive. (Hold option at startup). Unless there are issues with the specific drive model, your eMac should be able to boot from all FireWire devices.
I'm not sure where Tiger comes into this, however. (As you mention later in your post). The way I understand, you basically just want to erase zeros on your HDD and boot from it just as you acquired it (hence the cloning/re-cloning of the internal HDD).
    Good Luck!

  • EDI over FTP

    Hi Ramesh,
We are facing some initial hiccups on b2b, it would be helpful if you can clear it.
The scenario: We get multiple EDI docs from multiple partners through FTP, but the rule is to process only those files which have an associated ".done" file. For ex. we process 850_EDI_X12.dat (this is the main doc with the data ) only if 850_EDI_X12.dat.done (this one is just a dummy file "0 kb", indicates the completion of the PO) has also got generated and then we need to delete both these files.
Please let me know how can I do the above on B2B.
Apart from the above couple of quick questions:
    1. Can B2B itself poll and retrieve the file for processing or does it require BPEL for picking up the file and putting it on the queue ?
    2. Can B2B itself put the EDI file content on the jms queue for a BPEL process to pick it up? (internal channel for inbound prcoessing)
Please let me know the answers to the above asap
    thanks & regards,
    Shailesh

    Hello Ramesh,
Excuse me for re-starting an old thread, but an important concern has re-surfaced.
So far, in my testing I used to normally name the EDI files - in this manner - <TPName>_<doctype>_<doc revision>.dat, and B2B was successfully able to read it. The other day, I happened to put a file, with name as po.dat and the B2B threw an error stating unable to find trading partner agreement. Then, I again renamed the same file with the earlier naming standard, and it worked fine. I did few more rounds of testing with different combinations, but b2B failed to identify the trading partner. This indicates that B2B identifies the document based on File Names, rather than the interchange id, that we are providing.
In production, however, since we are the ones fetching the files from remote systems, we have little, in fact no control on the filename given by the trading partner.
Is there any parameter that I need to set for B2B to pick-up files not based on file name, but any file in that particular directory. I thought it was the envelope segment (ISA / GS) identifiers that B2B uses for identifying trading partners, but it doesn't seem so.
    thanks for your help,
    Shailesh
