AS3 Contact Sheet Help!!

Hi, I have been making a website entirely in flash CS4 AS3 and I decided to buy a contact sheet to add into it, when I added it in though it didn't work. I would click the button of the contact sheet and it didn't work. I contacted the creator if the contact sheet and this is what he told me:
Actionscript 3.0 hates timelines
They way you have it set up it wont work
First get the emailer working in its own flv, swf.
Then when you have it working loaded it as an external swf.
You tie line coding was normal in 1.0 acceptable in 2.0 but wont cut it in 3.0
All Actionscript needs to be in one key frame. all pages need to be externally loaded swf,s not just a new location on a timeline.
So if someone could tell me how to create a contain file and external .swf for my contact sheet and also how to call up the external .swf it would be great help.
I attached my Flash file as a zip file so you can look at it and give me the best help possible. Thorough instructions would be much appreciated.
What I've done is i simply took that contact sheet and put it into the time line where the correct frame label is. I am using frame labels to call up the different pages on the site when i click on the buttons. So like I said i put it at the frame label "contact" and so when i click on the Contact Me button it goes to the contact sheet. That part works but as far as the contact sheet responding and sending the email nothing is happening. I have the PHP file and everything set up.
Here's the website it's on it it helps to look at it online so that you can experience the problem yourself.

Hmm well do you think you can take a look at it? Because it works but when you click the send button it doesnt respond or even go to the next frame or anything. As long as the form is filled out correctly it just sits there. Ive been trying to fix this for a long time and would like to get it working.

    1. Publish the ContactForm.fla as a separate .swf, say contactForm.swf.
    2. On the timeline of your main file (index.fla), add code at the frame labelled "contact", to load in the "external" contact form swf, contactForm.swf. Look up the Loader Class in the ActionScript 3.0 reference to see how to do this.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS3LCR/Flash_10.0/flash/display/Loader.html
I haven't looked at the code in ContactForm.fla but hopefully there are no scope issues and the loaded swf works independently of your main file. Just make sure that sendEmail.php is in the same directory as your index.swf.

  • New PDF Contact Sheet help

    Hi,
I am trying to use Automator to create a simple application that takes a set of images and creates a pdf contact sheet.
When I create an application in automator with the New PDF Contact Sheet action and run it, I get an error "There was an error in processing the images (-2700) in the log. What gives - how do I solve this error? This is the only action, aside from the "Get Specified Finder Items" action.
Oddly, it seems that the contact sheet pdf is getting created and placed in the Pictures folder. But the final result of a pdf in the location specified by the action is not getting created.
    Thanks

I have found a work around solution, which i think maybe the origin of the problem. You will need to also install a work flow app called Life-Poster. by Jim Heid. Below is the link.
When i installed that and used the New PDF Contact Sheet a noticed a new app in the doc called MakePDF. And the rest of my workflow worked perfectly as it did in Leopard. It seems that apple has either left out this makePDF app out of snow leopard or made a change to it in some way it is not recognized or called properly in the New PDF Contact Sheet Action.

Good luck hope it works for you like it did for me.

The person you got that information from doesn't understand AS3 or CS4 very well.  Pretty much anything that was said is wrong.  AS3 code loves the timeline, in fact, when it is in an fla file it is required to be in the timeline, unlike AS1/2 which allowed code to be attached to objects.  And you are not limited to having code in the first frame.
Pages can be timeline based entities--movieclips in different frames or with their visibility controlled, or entire sections of timelines, or external swf files that are loaded on demand.  The latter is what this person claims is all that is possible. If that is all the support the person who sold you this has to offer, you aren't likely to get a solution thru that person.
If you can provide the details of this contact sheet that you want to incorporate, and indicate what you have tried that is not working, someone may be able to help you thru this here.

  • Trying to create a contact sheet for passport photos....HELP!

Aperture 3 and iMac are both new to me and after a lot of research, I finally figured out how to make a contact sheet for my passport photo so that I don't have to pay 10.00 for a measly 2x2 photo at Walgreen's. I went to file>print>selected the 8x10 borderless size and adjusted the picture so that I would be able to print 20 2x2 photos on one sheet. PERFECT....but....I don't really want to print it myself ( I don't have any photo paper right now )...I want to SAVE the image I created and upload it to Walgreen's so that they can print it. Then, I will cut out the 2x2 photo that I need. The only problem right now is that I cannot figure out how to SAVE the image to my computer, either in iPhoto or Aperture 3. If anyone knows, can you please help me out with this. OR if there is another way to create the image in another area of Aperture 3 I would like to know how!
Thanks for any help you can provide

Once in print after you have the layout you want select the Print button. This will bring up the  system print window (not actually print the image yet).
At the bottom of the new window is a button PDF select that. From that pulldown you can elect to save the print image as a pdf or better yet for your need you can save  as a JPG (or TIFF)
Once you have it saved as a JPG you can upload to Walgreen;s

  • Is it possible to change the number of rows while printing a contact sheet in Iphoto? Please help

Hi guys, I am struggling to find out how to change the number of rows on a contact sheet on Iphoto , i have selected my photos and i want it to print 6 photos on each page however I am not able to do it.      Please help me out, im a Art student and i need to submit my contact sheets for an assignment  Thanks in advance guys !!!!!

I don't think you can do that with the Contact Sheet layout.  If you have Pages or a 3rd party image editor that supports layers you can do what you want.  Or try the demo version of OmniGraffle for Mac It will run fully operational for 14 days.

  • I have several issues that I hope you can help me out with. I am a professional photographer with a Mac with OS X 10.9.4: - I can only make ONE contact sheet in CS6 (from AUTOMATE) from pictures indicated in Bridge. If I want to make another contact sheet

I have several issues that I hope you can help me out with. I am a professional photographer with a Mac with OS X 10.9.4:
    - I can only make ONE contact sheet in CS6 (from AUTOMATE) from pictures indicated in Bridge. If I want to make another contact sheet I need to shut down and restart CS6.
    - Camera RAW: if I change any setting in Camera RAW (except exposure), having first optimized the exposure, the exposure will automatically return to zero. Sometimes when I've set exposure and cropped the picture in Camera RAW Plug-In, the effects are lost just by opening the picture in CS6.
    - Sometimes if I crop a picture in Camera RAW, it may be impossible to open it again from Bridge!
    - I cannot do lens corrections in Camera RAW, at all. The Camera RAW comment is that "it cannot load the correct lens type". Why?

Are you writing that when you select  a large number of images in the bridge  like a hundred thumbnails  when you then use Bridge menu Tools>Photoshop>Contact Sheet II that Photoshop only produces a single contact sheet for the first few thumbnails and fails to produce additional contact sheets for the other selected thumbnails? Photoshop contact sheet II script should create as many contact sheet as needed  for the numbers of thumbnails selected.  Perhaps the script is hung or you have exhausted  your machine resources.
ACR Crop tool does not crop the RAW file it records crop settings to be used during the conversion process.    Camera RAW DATA is not altered.  The only changes made to RAW Files is ACR Metadata may be added.  Anything you do in ACR can be un-done in ACR.    If you can not open a RAW File in ACR the Files is either corrupt or from a new camera ACR does not support yet.  ACR should not corrupt RAW files.
If you do not have a lens profile for ACR I think you should still be able to do lens correction manually in ACR.
Some of what you write I don't follow could you post some screen captures of your problems often a picture helps.

  • Bridge - Photoshop - Contact Sheet II - PLEASE HELP

I used to be able to open bridge - go to tools - photoshop - contact sheet II
now all it gives me is General Photoshop Error occurred
    I've even deleted bridge preferences
Is it a problem in Photoshop or Bridge itself?
I have tried everywhere even the forums and nobody seems to be to help
I use the contact sheet all the time to do my pages - I can do it in photoshop but Bridge is so convenient and I can rearrange my pictures the way I want them to.
We have other machines in the office and I tried to same thing and the other machines are working fine - it's just mine.
Thank you for your prompt response,
    Marie

Are you using CS4 because you will need to install the optional "Contact Sheet II" software into Photoshop CS4.
    This Link should help:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb404900&sliceId=2#h5
You can then Select your images in Bridge and go to Tools menu/Photoshop>Contact Sheet II
and Contact Sheet II will then open in Photoshop.

  • Cannot open Contact Sheet II on my Elements 12, gives me error message. Can anyone help with this?

In Elements 12, I cannot open Contact Sheet II. I keep getting an error message.  Can anyone help with this?

    That's a different file.
    Try this:
    1. Click on your desktop
    2. Then in the Go menu click on Go To Folder
    3. Paste the following line in the Go To Folder dialog and press Go
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Plugins/Adobe Contact Sheet II PSE12/Elements
    4. That should open a finder window something like below.
Drag the Adobe Contact Sheet PSE12 Prefs to the Trash on the dock
    5. Start the pse 12 editor and see the contact sheet II works.

  • Lightroom 4 contact sheet print crashes with over 12 images - Please help.

Lightroom 4 consistently crashes every time I attempt to print a contact sheet containing over 12 images. Any less and the task is completed without error, any more and it inevitably crashes. Any thoughts?
My workaround has been to export the images and create large contact sheets in Photoshop CS6, but this takes twice as long.
This is a daily task and is significantly disrupting my workflow. Please help.
    Regards,
    Eliot

So, I had this problem tonight after experiencing no problems with Lightroom 4 previously. I noticed that in the print dialog box, where you can select to print "all" the pages or a page range, the page range radial was highlighted and the defined page range was "7" to "7". I was only printing one image so I changed the print range to "1" to "1". And it did the trick. Crazy, eh?

  • LIghtroom And Contact Sheets...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hello, I am in dire need of help (deadlines! ahhhhh!).
So we have been using lightroom for a couple of months now.
I work as an assistant at a professional studio which does weddings and some private family jobs.
We work on power macs which both have enough power to plan a trip to the moon.
We print on a Canon IPF 5100 and a 5000. Matte Epson 3* paper.
Each wedding is generally 5-7 Sets with 400-600 .NEF images each.
So heres the problem. Contact Sheet Resolution!
We never really had too much trouble with contact sheets, and only recently has it been noticed. Our images are printing so blurry it is hard to tell if eyes are open ect.
We had been printing on draft mode until now. I understand draft mode doesn't produce a fine image, but it seems they were never this bad.
So I tried turning draft mode off. It took hours to process every image (render it down/quality) and then it just wouldn't send it to the printer (at this point I want to throw a brick through my screen).
So my options with LR at this point are complete crap and a few wasted hours with no result.
I have gone back to CS3...A program which makes LR look like MS Paint...
The only problem is this is pretty time consuming and not very flexible.
So Please For all the is worthy on this earth...How can I use LR in a productive way???
    How do you Print C.S's?
    Do you share this problem??
    Much thanks.
    -A Stressed Out Employee.

Hi, I recently upgraded to LR2 (after having used LR1.4). When making contact sheets (3 across and 3 down) I notice that the quality of the outputted PDF file is terrible (I never recall it being this bad with LR1.4; in fact, I recall being able to zoom into the contact sheet quite far and still see decent resulotion). I have fiddled with the Print settings, tried printing in both draft and otherwise (which can take forever). I have tried re-importing the files and rendering both standard previews and 1:1 previews, but nothing seems to have corrected the problem I am having.
    A few interesting points:
    - Using the same photos and contact sheet configuration, the actual size of a contact sheet created in LR1.4 vs. LR2 is different (the LR1.4 contact sheet was actually a larger file). This would explain why I recall better resolution from the LR1.4 sheets I used to create.
    - In LR2, I notice that the portrait photos on contact sheets are lower quality than the landscape photos. I understand that they are actually larger on the sheet (so it might make sense at first look), but even when zoomed into, the landscape photos retain higher quality longer. I don't recall this happening with LR1.4.
Am I doing something wrong with the creation of my contact sheets or is there a setting that I am missing? Any input would be appreciated.
    Thank you, Scott

  • Contact sheets for PSE9...help please. :)

At my office the last version we had was PSE2....Gasp!! The contact sheets were so simple and I've tried and tried to figure out how to do them in Photoshop Elements 9 to no avail. For example, I want to print 10 images (all contained in one folder on our server) - 2 per page. Please please help. I am amazed at how much we relied on that function. Thank you!

As an alternative, you can create your own template:
Open a new, blank file (File>new>blank file) and set width & height in the inch size of your paper stock (5x7" for example)), resolution 300px/in, background white (can be any color)
Access the rectangular marquee tool, and in the the tool's option bar select "Fixed size", and put in 3.00x2.25", for example. Turn on the grid and snap to grid via View>grid & snap to grid. You can configure the grid via Edit>preferences>Guides and grids if you want to.
Duplicate the background layer, and create the first box by clicking with the rectangular marquee tool. Position the box, then fill it with 50% gray (Edit>fill selection, and under contents select 50% gray.) Select>deselect gets rid of the marching ants
Repeat for the next box. You should now have a document containing two rectangular boxes filled with 50% gray.
Select the first box that you wish to fill (with the picture) with the magic wand tool. On the tool's option bar be sure that contiguous is checked. You should see "marching ants" around the selection, indicating that it is active.
Open picture 1, go to Select>all, Edit>copy, then go to your layout as completed in step #5, and Edit>paste into selection
Your image will be larger that the rectangular box, but you can drag it around to position the person that you wish to display. CTRL+T will allow you to resize the image with the corner handles, and to maneuver it
Repeat for picture 2 with the 2nd box
