ASA - log users out of ASDM after 10 mins of idle time?

Hello,
How can I get idle users logged out of the ASDM after 10 mins?
I have SSH and the console set fine, but not the ASDM.
Many thanks

Hi Andy,
You can increase the ASDM timeout value by the command:
http server idle-timeout
Here's the ref:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/command/reference/gh.html#wp1782511
The default value is 20 mins
Hope that helps,

  • In iWS 4-6, how can I cause a user to re-login after 30 minutes of idle time?

We are using NSE 3.x as well as iWS 4, and 6 for several websites. They all use Directory services and SSL. I want to be able to force the user to re-login into the site after a specified amount of idle. Also, if possible, I would like the user to be able to log (him/her)self out at any point without closing the browser. How can this be done?
    Thanks in advance,
    scott

    Hello,
You didn't mention on which platform you are running the iplanet web server. I assume that you are running iWS on (UNIX/LINUX) platform.
you need to set the CGIStubIdleTimeout directive for the required time to logoff the user idle for seconds, which causes the server to kill any CGIStub processes that have
been idle for the number of seconds set by this directive. Once the number of
processes is at MinCGIStubs it does not kill any more processes. The default is 45.
CGIExpirationTimeout limits the maximum time in seconds that CGI processes
    can run.

Is there any way to set Contribute to log a user out (and

  • Pivot table and link to account record logs user out of OnDemand

    All,
I have created a simple accounts report using a pivot table. I would like the user to be able to drill down on the detail account record. I followed the instructions in Doc ID 454434.1 that describes how to do this without using an action link.
From the example, I created the following URL and inserted it in the account name column under data format using custom text format. The account id is also included, but hidden in the report layout.
    http://"@[html]"<a target=_top href=https://secure.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/AccountDetail?OMTHD=AccountDetailNav&OMTGT=AccountDetailForm&AccountDetailForm.Id="@">"@"</a>
The link is available in the finished report, but when I run the report from shared custom analyses and click on the link it logs me out of the application and returns me to the sign in page.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Here's an attempt to post the entire url again:
    "http://"@[html]"<a target=_top href=https://secure.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/AccountDetail?OMTHD=AccountDetailNav&OMTGT=AccountDetailForm&AccountDetailForm.Id="@">"@"</a>"

  • Safari quits automatically after certain amount of idle time.

I am having a problem with my Safari quiting after a certain amount of system idle time. It could be as little as 5 minutes. I honestly don't know as I really haven't tried to figure out the exact time. Though I've been away as little as 15 minutes to come back and find that Safari as quit.
I do close the last window of Safari, but I've been doing that for years. I've only noticed that it's quitting by the fact that the little "light" at the bottom of the icon is missing. And that it bounces 1 or 2 times when I click on it. As well as the fact that I am not getting notifications, like eBay.
I have to admit that I was playing around with an Apple Script to have it quit Safari automatically after some system idle time. However, I can no longer find that Apple Script or the app. Heck, I can't even remember the name. However, I couldn't get the script correct as it never worked. I was doing this because my mother would leave a lot of windows/tabs open on her Mac and would use 50% plus of the CPU at times, even at "idle". I was doing this in Mt Lion, but once Mavericks came out. Her CPU usage has dropped down to less than 5%
So my questions are... How can I find this Apple Script that I created nearly a year ago? Why all of sudden does it start to work, which is with in the last several days to a week? Could it be something else that's making it quit?
The only thing that was a "huge" change was the addition of Garmin Express app to update my mother's GPS. (Wish that I did it on her Mac) However, this was installed last night.
Oh, there was another thing. I've tried to use this Mac as a target boot disc to a pre-2008 MBP 17', non-unibody. And I also tried to use that same MBP as a target disc on this Mac. Used a firewire 800. This was done about a week ago.
    Thank you,
    KOT

More important information: This only happens under an account that has the Parental Controls enabled. The main Admin account does not have this problem of Safari quitting out.

  • SSRS sharepoint integrated report refershes after 60 secs of idle time

    Hi All
we have SSRS 2012 report integrated with sharepoint 2013  in which when we click on any toggle item after some idle time of 60 secs then  it refreshing complete report .
    what we observered.
    1. there is no problem when we expand toggle items without idle item.
    2. when we open the report ond expand few toggles and keep idle for 60 seconds and try to expand another toggle item then  complete report refresh is happening with all toggle items are collapsing.
    3. If you keep idle for 60 minutes and if you didnt do any action like expanding toggle items it is not refreshing.
why it is happening how to stop that complete refresh.
    Surendra Thota

    Hi Surendra_Thota,
According to your description, there is SSRS drilldown report of sharepoint integrated mode, when you expand toggle after 60 seconds idle time, the report will be completely refreshed, and all toggle items are collapsed.
The report session keeps alive by pinging the server periodically for every N-1 second, where N being the timeout of the session set within Reporting Service. In this case, the report session has already expired in one minute and hence whenever we access
the page after one minute, the report will be completely refreshed. To solve the problem, we can increase the report session timeout for Reporting service 2012 in SharePoint integrated mode by following steps:
Browse the SharePoint central administration URL and navigate to Application Management -> Manage service applications (Under Service Applications).
Select the Reporting services service application and click on manage.
    Click on System Settings.
Locate the Session Timeout setting. We can change it to 1200.
    Click on OK.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Keyboard does not function after mac mini goes idle

Hi. Interesting issue. New keyboard on my mac mini. Identification of keyboard (cheap Dynex) works fine. If I let mini go idle/screensaver, when it wakes up, it does not recognize the keyboard at all. Cannot manually force it to recognize either. Restart works like a charm and all is good until it goes idle again.
    Anyone seen this? Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I used a couple of cheapo PC oriented USB keyboards when I got my first Mac mini. They had issues where they would stop working after sleep, screen saver activation, or would start doing double key strokes, and other glitches. Honestly, if it's not an Apple keyboard or specifically made for the Mac, I've always had the keyboard develop issues at some point. I strongly suggest getting a proper Apple or made for Mac keyboard. It has solved all of my keyboard issues.

  • Write Back - Database update logs user out

    Hi All,
I have implemented write back functionality on a single varchar field in one of my reports. Everything appears to be setup correctly (permissions are set at the presentation and rpd layer to allow for the write back and the write back template appears to have no issues). When a user logs in they are able to see the editable fields and the Update button is enabled. When a user then changes a field value and hits the update button, everything again appears to complete without any error and checking the database side the update shows up correctly.
The issue is that after the Update button is pressed and the database changes are committed successfully, the users session keeps getting logged out. Once they hit the update button and then try to click anywhere else within OBIEE, they are automatically hit with the logged out page and need to log back in. This happens everytime and the changes do take to the database.
Has anyone ever seen this before? I have tried shutting down all windows and clearing browser cache and then coming in fresh but keeps happening.
    Thanks,
    k

    Hi,
though this thread is closed i just want to put some note.
try playing with the Isolation Levels.
If you used Toad, you might have come across a functionality when your logging off...which is to commit your transactions before logging off.
Envisioning this functionality i presume there should be some db level property that might be causing this in that particular environment.
    thanks

  • OWA logs user out when they try to set an Out Of Office Message

After upgrading to Exchange 2013 users can no longer set their Out Of Office (via OWA option 'Set Automatic Replies'). When a user tries to do so via OWA they are immediately logged out and get the error message "The user name or password you entered
isn't correct. Try entering it again."
We are currently on CU3, not sure if the problem was introduced in Exchange 2013 initially or once CU3 was applied.
Users see the same behavior when they try to check a Message Delivery Report via OWA.

  • Problem with Firefox, it logs me out from websites after I restart

    Hello World!
I have a small problem. I restart my computer and after I open firefox, I notice that I am logged out of a website, for example, Facebook. (Not the only one, but one of some).
I have tried checking if I got any sites blocked under my Preferences, there are no Exceptions, the cookies do show up and everything, its the perfect scenario to actually work lol.
Then I tried checking the ArchWiki, if you recall this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fi … nformation it mentions something about deleting a file called cookies.sqlite, I've tried that and still no work. I've tried making a new profile and deleting the old one, and it still doesn't work.
I currently have no Addons installed  because I deleted my old profile and I am currently in a blank one. Only got a few bookmarks and stuff.
I  then ran out of ideas, I tried google, all I could find was something wrong with people using a script blocking addon, which currently I don't have. So does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this?
Thank you very much you guys! Arch ROCKS!

Nope, that option is unchecked. The problem is that, that only happens to certain websites, for example gmail, facebook, and I just noticed that it also happens with my school's website. The rest it just seems fine.
I tried install Google Chrome yesterday as well just to check if it was Firefox giving me that problem and apparently the same thing happens as well. It's kinda weird, I mean, I usually don't have this problem in Windows.
Well, anyways, thanks for your reply!

  • XBOX - logs me out of live within 10 mins (BT HOME...

    Help!!!!!!!!
I got an xbox which i was looking forward to getting set up and running to get on my love films, catch up and get into the world of online gaming.  Only issue - when i turn my XBOX on, it signs in to live (usually) then I can start using it, but the longest time I can spend online without it signing out and signing back in straight away is 10 mins.  I have tested my xbox at my mums and it works fine.
My broadband works fine (17mb) on my laptop and iphone wifi, and if i put laptop on the LAN then that works too.
I have contacted BT, but blunt answer is they provide broadband, but the router with their name on it they don't support - who does is the question??
XBOX were very helpful and the below is what they supplied me with
Xbox Live requires the following ports to be open:
    Port 88 (UDP)
    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 80 (TCP)
Have been into the router and attempted to set the router up with these setting but I cannot make it work.
    Any help most appreciated.

  • Log-ins don't work after an OS X Leopard Time Machine restore

I upgraded the RAM and HDD on a Santa Rosa MacBook and then did a Time Machine restore from my old iMac G5 Time Machine backup.  Everything seemed to go well but afterwards my login and admin passwords were no longer accepted.  Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Redirecting user to login page after session expiry

    Hi,
Default session expiry implementation in sap EP6.0 doesn't work properly. To overcome this, we have implemented one component where we check the idle time and throw the user back to the login page if the idle time has exceeded the session expiry period. This component has been added to desktop inner page as an iView. Following is the logic put in this component.
    IAuthentication ia = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    ia.logout(httpRequest, httpResponse);
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
We are successfully getting the login page after session expiry. Issue is, our portal server is running on 11111 port. We cannot change this to 80 on unix because of unix limitations for the port number. So we have put one apache web server before our portal server. Apache web server is listening on port 80 and forwarding the request to our portal server.
Now when user is redirected to the login page, url being shown in the browser is http://<host_name>:11111/irj/portal but I am expecting http://<host_name>/irj/portal (without port). I have tried putting the full url in sendRedirect() method but that too doesn't work.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
Let the URL be relative in the sendRedirect i.e.
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
However since you have a Reverse proxy in front, the response header for redirect will not contain the address of the reverse proxy in this case, your servername without port. You have to properly configure your reverse proxy so that the HTTP Headers are changed properly before sending the response to the users.
    Check this URL,
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypassreverse
This gives you the details on configuring your apache.
    Hope this helps.

P.S. If this helps please reward points.
