ASA SSM-10 Need to restore factory defaults

I had a consultant come in and install the IPS on my firewall, well he forget the login password for the SSM-10 IPS and now I can't get into it. I have tried all the hw module 1 restart, reload, config options and have removed the card and looked for a hard reset button but nothing has worked. How do I get into the IPS so I can reset the password?

The only way is to do a recovery, complete instructions are at:

In a nutshell:
1) cable the ssm module to a tftp server (can be via a switch or whatever)
2) issue the hw-module command to do a configure (enter params as prompted)
3) issue the hw-module command to reboot
Note that your tftp server needs to be able to handle files >16MB

Hello all. We need to restore factory defaults on a CSM 4.0 SP1 server, and need to do it without re-installing the server. Can't find an option to do this, so that CSM can start from scratch with no devices or policies, and with all default settings. Is there a way to do this? I believe just deleting devices and policies will not cut it, we need to make sure that the database is clean and factory default.

mm, I could not find the proper documentation (i see it for LMS...) anyway, you can try the following:
1- stop the server
net stop crmdmgtd
2- Erase the DBs
set NMSROOT=c:\progra~2\cscopx
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=cmf dmprefix=Cmf npwd=admin
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=vms dmprefix=vms npwd=admin
If using Performance Monitoring (MCP):
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=mcp dmprefix=mcp npwd=admin
NOTE:
NMROOT is the root where CSM is installed. I am assuming you are using default settings for Win2008 but you need to change if you installed somewhere else
3- restart the server.
net start crmdmgtd
Please note that all you data will be lost. Also, make sure to have the license handy as it might be required to install the license again.
Also I would suggest you do a backup of your DB before you perform these steps

I updated my software last night and when I came back to the computer its says there was a problem and I need to restore factory settings. How do I get my photos and videos off the phone

I plugged in my phone to update to the latest software. After a while, I went back to the PC and it said there had been a problem and that I needed to restore the factory settings.
I am worried that I will lose all the photos and videos that I have on the phone. How do I get them off.
When I now plug the phone it the screen looks like when you first get it - i.e. itunes logo and asking me to plug in.

If the device has been used as designed, the pics and via taken with the device would have regularly been copied off to a computer.
The first step in the update process via iTunes on the computer is a backup.
Restore the device from the most recent backup.
If data is lost, then it is merely the fault of the user for not backing up the device or saving their data regularly.
Once the device is in recovery mode, the ONLY option is to restore.

For Flash CS5, you can restore your settings by deleting your user configuration folder and recreating the preferences files.
User configuration file:
Window XP - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS5
Window Vista & Window 7- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5

Restoring Factory Defaults: second hand computer?

So I have finally talked my wife into going "Mac". I picked up the new model iMac G5 for her second hand. It was practically unused by the previous owner and doesn't contain anything additional (software or hardware) other than what came stock.
Two things though:
- We would like to re-create the "PROFILE" under her name and info as well as delete the previous owners.
- I would also like to simply restore to factory defaults so any custom preferences or files left behind are deleted.
What's the safest & simplest way to do this? Would it require running or booting from the OS disk?
Is there a step by step guide created out there?

New question:
Upon trying to create a new profile I have use the previous owners admin. password (duh). That dawned on me on the way home after buying it yesterday.
Turns out, it was my dead end.
Isn't there a way to override that, I remember apple tech support helped me do that on my powerBook one time way back.
The reason I ask here first is . . . maybe the password is a universal password the seller uses for everything and he'd be reluctant to dish it out to me? Otherwise I could just call him back for it.
Goes back to what you're saying W.J., he should'a wiped out his profile, created a generic one with generic password?!?!?

Restoring factory defaults (SRW2024)

How do I restore the factory defaults on a SRW2024? I tried using the hyperterminal method described in the troubleshooting section, but I can't get a "login screen" to appear. I've tried using both a null modem and regular rs232 cable.

After change IP address of the switch the access web is not working!! I have access via telnet and console, but I tried to reset to default setting using the procedure , but the screen do not accept the yes command at the menu! Somebody can help me? Please linksys people? Thanks in advance

iPod was working fine, no probs. Then, it switched to Disk Mode and became a grey screen instead of colour, and gave off the ! sign. I have tried to re set...no luck..have tried to restore factory settings...no change. I am a new iPod owner and haven't had the experience of tryiing various controls. I guess I'm conservative as I don't want to wind up erasing everything after all the hard work of scanning album covers for those that don't exists and typing in names of songs for albums that do not have online access to names.
Your answer is the one I was looking for to enable not sending some songs to the iPod that I still want to keep available in iTunes.

Downloaded the new iPhone update for my 4s and now I get the the "connect to iTunes" image. When I do, it says it needs to restore factory settings. Help! What do I do?

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

I am also able to get to the CME GUI as well.

How long does it Take an iPod to restore factory defaults?

This is a pain. Its in disk mode and it's been restoring since 7 o'clock p.m last night. its now 7:15 and its still restoring. how much longer could this take?

The problem is, that the programme recovery disk doesn't automatically open and even holding down F8 at start up doesn't work as I get a different page on screen showing details from American Megatrends and no option to revert to factory setings.
Any ideas how I can bypass this? This page has only been showing for about a week.

You know it works on a different way?
Start your notebook and press F12 several times to enter boot devices menu
Put recovery DVD into optical disc drive
Choose CD/DVD in menu and press ENTER
Follow the menu on the screen
Thats all you must do if you want to install OS using Toshiba recovery installations disc.
American Megatrends doesnt say anything to me and I don't know what are you writing about. such thing is not available on European notebook models and I don't know how you got it on your one.

I want to give my old I-phone 5 to my son and am trying to delete all of the phone's contents. A box keeps popping up asking for my apple ID to an old email address. I recently changed email addresses and changed my apple ID. I can't get my old password from the old Apple ID.

Then change your ID back to your old ID, erase your phone, then change your ID back to the one you want to use.
If unable to do that, you'll have to call AppleCare & ask to talk to "Account Security".

Click the right arrow till Tools will appear, then click OK.
Click the right arrow till Restore Factory Defaults will apper, then click OK, The printer factory defaults will be restored.

Script to reset factory defaults on multple routers

Hi All,
We have a number of routers and switches that need to reset to factory defaults the devices have been locked out with security (U/N and P/W are unavailable). A Terminal server has been configured with 2 X NM-16A with the octal cables and connectivity is working.
Can you please provide an example of a script which will send the CTRL Break signal during bootup while connected via terminal server to the devices using a octal cables (serial console connection) or is there a utlity to connect to multiple devices and reset the factory default settings. We have literally hundreds of devices to reset.

Well my problem... wait I thought I described it...
Every week it's like my DHCP goes out of wake and cuts off ip distro on my network causing all LAN and wireless connections to have a yellow exclamation on there network devices... no amount of power resets will fix it ... only a restore factory default on the router itself will bring back everyone online.
