ASA5505 I cannot reach to an outside network from a branch office
My customer has a HQ office and many Branch offices. In the HQ there is an ASA5510 configured as a default gateway, From HQ customer must access to internet (everythig works fine), from Inside LAN should reach to anyway including special services like Credit Card service provider and others (it works fine). From Branch offices must reach Inside LAN hosts (it works fine), from Branch Offices must reach DMZ (it works fine), from branch offices should reach CC Service provider and here's the point of this Q, From almost all branch offices they reach CCSP fine but branch offices where an ASA5505 is installed (Offices that reach CCSP have a RV042 installed or a TPlink ER6120 installed) but offices with ASA just can ping to LAN side of CCSP's router.
I think ASA5505 conf is an opened door configuration. Here's the 5505 configuration and also attached the network diagram. Some one can help please
Hi,
Are the branch offices connected to the HQ through some ISP MPLS network since I do not see any L2L VPN configurations on the ASA5505?
I presume this is the case. Since you say that the connections between Branch Office (with ASA5505) and HQ LAN work fine it should tell us that there should be no routing problems between those networks.
The diagram possibly also suggests that all the Branch Office connections come to your HQ network through the same Router at the edge so if other Branc Offices connections CCSP work then there should be no routing problem between the Branch Offices and the CCSP (atleast regarding your part of the network)
Now, some questions.
Does the ISR Router forward traffic destined to CCSP directly to the Router at 192.168.2.249 ?
Does the Router with the connection to the CCSP use the Internet to reach the CCSP or is there somekind of dedicated connection between these networks?
If the Router towards CCSP uses Internet then does it lack some NAT configurations for the source network 192.168.27.0/24? Does it perhaps lack a route towards the network 192.168.27.0/24? Or is there any possible errors in the configurations (wrong gateway IP or network mask somewhere?)
Is there any ACLs configured on the Router that has the connection to the CCSP that might block traffic?
Does the CCSP have all the required routing information to pass traffic towards the network 192.168.27.0/24? (If were talking about a dedicated connection and not traffic through the Internet) Have they allowed traffic from the mentioned network 192.168.27.0/24 to their servers/network?
Have you taken "packet-tracer" output from the ASA5505 to confirm that the ASA configurations allow the traffic and dont drop it for some reason?
For example
packet-tracer input inside tcp 192.168.27.100 12345 193.168.1.100 80
You can modify the IP addresses (source/destination) and the used destination port and protocol to match the connections that are actually attempted.
Have you monitored the connections on the ASA when users attempt them? This should atleast tell you why they are failing or give a hint. You could also configure traffic capture on the ASA5505 if you wanted to make sure if any traffic was coming from the CCSP towards this ASA (return traffic for connection attempt)
Hope this helps :)
Let me know if I missunderstood the situation wrong somehow.

Cannot join time capsule airport network from iPad 2 or iPhone 4
I have recently setup a new time capsule airport base station network with my new iMac (27-inch, late 2012) running OSX 10.8.2. Wi-Fe network works fine for internet access and printing from the iMac but I cannot join the wi-fi network from our iPad 2 or iphones. The network is seen in the wi-fi setup when wi-fi is turned on with the ipad and phone but does not establish a connection. An IP address and subnet mask show under the DHCP settings but the connection is not established. (Continuous revolving wheel).
Any help would be appreciated. The airport utility in Mountain Lion is a toyland version.. see bottom of post for installing v5.6 which improves the ability to actually make the TC do what you want.
For whatever reason the iphone/ipad seem sensitive to wireless channels.. which Apple auto rotate.. I think it is bluetooth connection stuff.
Anyhow jump in and set the following.
Wireless should have strictly SMB names.. short no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Use WPA2 Personal security.
Lock the wireless channel for 2.4ghz.. try in the following order.. 11, 6, 1 (those are the only non-overlapping channels) you can try in turn for which is best but if 11 works well stick to it.. Outside USA you can also use 13.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
2. Download and install unpkg.
http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool. -
Cannot connect to printer over network from Linux
When I run hp-setup, I can get the printer listed but it appears to refuse to communicate with the device. Same problem for wired ethernet as well as wireless.
Please help, I think I have tried everything by now...
Firewall disabled on the workstation does not help. Talking to the printers web interface (:8080) works perfectly. The printer works perfectly via USB. Also works fine from another windows PC (networked)
System:
Linux Mint 17 - X86_64 (up to date)
uninstalled the mint hplip package and installed the latest from HP manually....

HT4069 Cannot reach our new update server from clients
The update server is Mountain Lion and the clients are all Lion. If I reset the update catalogurl to blank, I can get updates from apple.com. When I change the path back to myserver.sprise.com, as suggested in many articles above, I get an error "The software server myserver.sprise.com is not responding."
Can anyone suggest what else to check or setup?
I can ping the server as myserver. The server can get updates from swupdate.apple.com. I've tried naming the server myserver.sprise.com and myserver.local with the same results.I am having issues with Lion clients as well but in your case, make sure that your softwareupdate port (8088) is open in any firewalls between your client and server.

I cannot log into my PC network from my iMac
I searched but did not see this problem.
I have 3 iMacs and several PC's in my signshop and we are bound by AD to the main PC serer and we connect via DHCP. One particular shared user can no longer log into her user from any of the iMacs. She just gets the shaking password window. But she can log into her shared user from any of the PC's. And we can all log into our shared users from her iMac.
Thins we have tried.
1. changed her password and that did not work.
2. renewed DHCP and that did not work.
3. disabled and re-enabled her acount and that didn't work.
Any advice? I will check this from work tomorrow if you need any info from the PC IT geeks
thanks!!This may need to get deleted, I am going to repost it in the "loggin" section that I just found.

Cannot connect to wireless network from a new HP Officejet Pro 6830
Just purchased a HP Officejet Pro 6830 wireless printer.
Set it up connecting my Dell PC and it initially worked.
THEN something happened.
ICON on screen on printer indicates "NO WIRELESS NETWORK FOUND"
Tried rebooting the Cable modem, then the router, then the printer and then the PC.
Still did not work.
What should I do?

Cannot reach cluster ip after configuring network load balancing
I have set up NLB for 2 WFE of SharePoint 2013:
WFE1 : private ip 192.168.1.100 ; public ip 172.1.1.1
WFE2 : private ip 192.168.1.101 ; public ip 172.1.1.2
Cluster ip: 172.1.1.3
I used 2 private ip in NLB and select unicast, but I cannot reach the cluster ip from out of these 2 WFE server.
Any body can help me? Thanks in advance.
AwenYes, I follow these steps and created NLB successfully, but cannot ping the cluster ip from outside these hosts server in NLB. Below is detail information:
OS: windows 2008 R2 64 bit
Sharepoint : 2013
WFE1 : private ip 192.168.1.100 ; public ip 172.1.1.1
WFE2 : private ip 192.168.1.101 ; public ip 172.1.1.2
private ip 100/101 can be communicated with each other, but cannot reach from other servers, even with same subnet.
Cluster ip: 172.1.1.3
After created NLB with unicast, I can ping the cluster ip from these WFE servers, but when I enter the cluster ip in browser, nothing display and cannot ping the cluster ip from other servers.

Cannot reach PBX system using data network
Good day Cisco people,
I am Simon and I have a big situation. My company recently expanded to one of our branches. Now this branch houses 100-150 employees. They are using computers and IP phones.
Currently, Our voice and data are integrated into one network.( With no configuration for voice and data vlan on the 5 Cisco switches that distributes the broadcast). We have a Cisco 1941 router used for DHCP for our local data lan and for VPN connection to our Head Office, It's network id is 192.168.65.0/24. Then for the IP Telephony we have Avaya 500 v2 for the PBX, It's network id is 192.168.42.0/24.
Now here is the problem and the questions.
1. I cannot reach the Avaya PBX from the Cisco Router even though I added a static route from the router. ( Do I need to add the route also from the PBX to the router? I want to add that I don't have any experience in voice networking only in data networking.) And is there a way/or is it possible that I could add a route from PBX to router?
2. If I am going to configure two vlans on the switches for the data and voice vlan? Do i need to configure router on the stick on the router? How about the interface that the PBX is connected to? what should I configure it? Should I configure it as a voice vlan only? a trunk port? access port?
3. Lastly, what could be possibly go wrong if ever I configured this on a production environment? And is it that hard to integrate voice with data?
Thank you for your support. I hope you understand. I don't have experience yet in handling both voice and data. Only data networks.
Note: Attached also is a simple network diagram for reference. Thank you.
Have a nice day,
SimonHi Simon,
I assume your phones are using static IP addresses to allow them to talk to the PBX?
If your switches have no VLAN configuration then you will have both layer 3 subnets running over the same layer 2 VLAN.
You could do a quick test and put a 192.168.42.X IP address on the interface of the 1941 that connects to your LAN, but use the ‘secondary’ option. This means the router will have both a 192.168.65.X address and a 192.168.42.X address.
You should then be able to PING the PBX from the router.
You will need to configure either a route or default gateway on the PBX of the 192.168.42.X address you have setup on the router to allow it to route packets between the data and voice networks.
A better practice idea as you suggested would be to setup a new VLAN for your voice network. You would need to create a trunk link from the switch to your routers inside interface then configure a sub-interface on the router for both VLANs.
Hope that helps

Complex DNS? Cannot reach XServe from inside network
I'm trying to make DNS work on a XServe with Leopard Server installed.
I had to migrate (mostly manually) DNS from the old server.
The server runs DNS for about 50 websites, most of them on the server itself, some on other local machines. All these are configured with their external ip addresses.
From inside the building i cannot reach the server unless i make a subnet so the xserve acts as a router to. Then I can also use Server Admin e.g., which I cannot use without that subnet.
From witin the server DNS seems to work while just browsing the domains with Safari.
sudo changeip -checkhostname
Primary address = 10.0.2.15
Current HostName = dns.myserver.com
The DNS hostname is not available, please repair DNS and re-run this tool.
So i guess i made a mess..
host on xserve ip address (also from within xserve)
odin:~ admin$ host 10.0.2.15
Host 15.2.0.10.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN
host command on external ip address gave me one of the domains, but not dns.myserver.com.
$ host 192.xxx.xxx.xxx (of course i used the full external ip address)
192.xxx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer dns.myserver.com.
Can anybody help?

[SOLVED] Puzzled: Web site visible on network but not outside network
Edit: Ok, nevermind . . . somehow the problem has resolved itself. Perhaps my ISP was having a bad hair day or something.
I'm puzzled by this small problem I'm having. It is NOT a critical problem or anything, just something I'd like to solve.
I've installed the LAMP packages, set up a small MySQL database and made a very simple web interface for it. The web pages open fine on my main computer and all the other computers on our network, but it is not visible outside our network.
I am behind a router and I have forwarded port 80 to my local IP. I've set httpd: ALL, http: ALL and (finally) ALL: ALL: ACCEPT in /etc/hosts.
I got to thinking maybe my ISP (RoadRunner) is blocking port 80 requests to my home, so I changed the port to 9292 and forwarded that to my local IP. Still not visible from the outside.
I've tinkered with the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file (pasted in below) but still there is no outside connectivity, changing the listen settings and the server name settings. I can still access it fine from this side of the router. I've restarted the httpd service many times.
I've done all I can think to do to solve the issue. it is likely I am overlooking something very basic. Any help or ideas are appreciated. Below is my httpd.conf.
# This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
# configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
# See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
# In particular, see
# <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
# for a discussion of each configuration directive.
# Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
# what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
# consult the online docs. You have been warned.
# Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
# of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
# server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
# with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo_log"
# with ServerRoot set to "/etc/httpd" will be interpreted by the
# server as "/etc/httpd//var/log/httpd/foo_log".
# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
# Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
# ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
# at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
# httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or

Cannot connect to the iTunes Store from my home network since I upgraded to ios 6
I own an iPad 2 and recently upgraded to ios 6. Since then, I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my home network. I can navigate any other site and access any other application. I can even reach the iTunes store through My Personal Hotspot and through my office network.
Has anyone experienced something similar? My network carrier is Telmex and I know for sure, they block port 25. Any guess on whether there could be a setting impeding connection?
Help!!!Hi Nickey,
If you are having difficulty connecting to the iTunes store from your PC there are a number of things you can try to get connected again. Details are available in this article -

Hello
I am windows 7 user and have been using creative cloud to run InDesign CC 2014 without issue until the most recent update....the update fails and reports back "cannot reach adobe servers - please check firewall and internet connection". This is a little strange since all other Adobe updates (including ID CC) and creative cloud updates go through without issue.
Many Thanks.Hi Peter
Yes - 4 or 5 times reaching only 4% before failure, it only seems to be with ID CC. The network administrator says there is no block or firewall to the adobe servers which seems logical because creative cloud itself would not update if this were the case. Could it be the ID update file itself ? -
Cisco 300 series: my PCs cannot reach the 2nd subnet
Dear Community/Support:
setting up our new series 300-28 in Layer3 Mode with a very basic network setup:
LAN: 192.168.0.0/24
VOIP Switch: 10.128.0.1 -- attached to GE24
default VLAN1- 192.168.0.254
added IPv4 Interface: GE24-10.128.0.254
which added the IPv4 route to the subnet 10.128.0.0
which added the ARP entry for 10.128.0.1
so in the admin interface the 300 can ping 10.128.0.1,
but my PCs in VLAN1 cannot reach it at all.
300-28 has DHCP enabled, IP Range 192.168.0.9-99/24, Gateway 192.168.0.254
Help Please,
i simply fail to understand why :(Sorry I don't really know the 300 series range of products. On other devices you would need to enable IP routing.
Have a look at this link it talks about changing the system mode to layer 3?

I installed the new google maps app and I am unable to make it work because it says, cannot reach server. I have a iphone 4 with 6.0.1 up to date. Please advise where I can locate to chech if my location is turned on.
Seems like you have somewhere network traffic blocked. Use Wireshark (free software) to troubleshoot RDP connection. If you test it on local network, try to disable firewall. Lower the number of parameters that may influence connection. Hope you have vanilla
plain installation without any other software that may influence the connection (like AV,...)
