ASA5512-x basic set up

Hi guy, I just bought ASA 5512-SSD120-K9. with this next generation this ASA firewall, I don understand mux, and don't know what to do next. I have read alot of documents relate to ASA CX,
it said it has AVC,WSE, and IPS come with. But in the quotation i purchased , i saw i bought ASA5512-AI1Y( AVC+IPS), so in case what does it mean? and i don know how can i use IPS,
who know this please guide me some.

mmm...just when I thought I was getting the hang of this stuff!
Ok, in peoples opinion, what specific single unit would you recommend for under £200 ($350) - or separate units for the same budget. (Is my budget reasonable?)
As a complete newbie I'm trying to get to grips with all this stuff - advice is pretty thin on the ground around where I live and I really don't want to blow my cash on something that's not suitable, so any advice is GREATLY appreciated.
thnx in advance
steve

  • Basic set up Point to my DNS

Hello, I seem to have problems understanding the help files on one part of OS X server setup for DNS hosting. Here is my basic set up.
I currently have my godaddy hosted domain pointing to my server ns3.uncinc.net on a OS X 10.3 server. I have the server set up as ns3.uncinc.net ip 64.105.180.98. I use this server for DNS Services only.
I redirect all queries to another OX S server, ns1.uncinc.net ip 64.105.180.101 which host's ftp www mx etc.
In the Admin I set up a Master zone name "uncinc.net" in the first field.
I then enter the hostname of the domain’s SOA "ns3.uncinc.net". Not sure but I think if I understand correctly here is where the "ns3.uncinc.net" goes & not the ns1.
With that set here is where some confusion starts when I create a first record.
The admin automatically sets the NS type to "ns3.uncinc.net" from "uncinc.net".
    Is this part correct?
I then have the rest of the records set up as such.
    1. NS from uncinc.net" to "ns1.uncinc.net" (I changed ns3 to ns1)?
    2. MX 10 from uncinc.net to ns1.uncinc.net
    3. A from ns1.uncinc.net to 64.105.180.101
    4. A from uncinc.net to 64.105.180.101
    5. A from www.uncinc.net to 64.105.180.101
    6. A from ftp.uncinc.net to 64.105.180.101
    Any advice appreciated!

The easiest and quickest way to secure your network would be to go online and go to www.linksys.com/easy and then download and run the EasyLink Connect Tool.
The normal way would be to hardwire a computer to the router and open up IE... then on the address bar, type in 192.168.1.1 (username just leave it blank and the password as a default is admin).... then go to the tab labeled wireless, then go to wireless security...

  • BASIC set up choices...

Hi, I'm looking for the most BASIC of instructions on set up..... I think I know the answer and there seems to be posts 'about' this but I want clarity.
I have iPhoto '11 and PSE 10. I want a way to organize my photo's within iPhoto. The main reason I like iPhoto is the way it integrates into mail and other Mac programs... I realize people hate it, and, I agree... it's hardly ideal. However.... I tried importing from iPhoto as was available in the PSE menu and seemed the most logical and simple way to go.
I was horrified to learn that in fact, PSE had created another 20GB folder on my hard drive with all the photo's on it.... I don't want 2 copies of the photo's. I want a well organized iPhoto Library...
I've searched around these forums and help files, but I can't seem to get a direct answer or explanation of this. It's so frustrating and annoying that a basic set up feature does not seem clear. In preferences there is a parameter under Preferences> Files> Saved Files> with a Browse button able to point to a nominated folder..... I was under the impression I could make this the iPhoto library??... but it's not available...
It doesn't seem that I can do what I want to do in the way I want to do it.... but perhaps my logic is wrong... I thought having the word 'organizer' in the PSE would solve problems, no cause duplicate files... 2 sets of photo's is not a solution.
I'm guessing I need to import into PSE and delete the iPhoto library?.... but can I still use iPhoto then?
I'm really confused..... I've deleted all of the photo's from PSE by selecting all and deleting... then I've made sure the Adobe folder 'Organizer' is empty.... but I can still see photos??......
So it IS seeing my iPhoto Library?.... will any changes I make affect iPhoto?.....
    MacBook Pro - Mountain Lion

Thanks Barbara, for taking the time to respond with good advice....
while option 2 seems to be the way to go to keep using iPhoto, it seems to be more aimed at editing and not so much organizing?... not too keen of going into the exporting/importing business.... (sounds like George Costanza....)
iPhoto really is pretty lame when it comes to organizing the library of photo's isn't it?.... I've heard of 'Light Room' which has been recommended by a friend.... and also seen another product $$.... iPhoto Library Manager by fatcat software, but reluctant to fork out for something else that doesn't quite work.... not sure if anyone can recommend these products?
So, if I wanted to make PSE the default photo app.... I'd need to....? export all photo's then import to PSE?... or just do the menu 'import' using PSE then delete the iPhoto library?.... I wonder how this affects my time machine which backs up to time capsule?....
What's your experience with PSE organizer? Does it do everything you want?.... is it the ants pants?.... lol....

  • Basic set up question on 30" CD and macBook Pro

I have not used a external monitor before with my macbook pro late 2008 15". Have successfully connected the 30"CD to the MBP . I understand that you have two options on the primary display and you can either mirror or extend the workspace.
Using a BT mouse ....how do you move from one display to another? I will be on one workspace and the next window will open on the other display. For example ....I launch safari from the macbook display and the windows open on the 30CD. Then I can t get over there to select a screen to launch.
My primary issues right now are basic set up and navigation....where should I be looking for guidance. I understand that applications themselves may incorporate the preference on displays to be used ..but with out basic navigation between the two screens this is painful.

If you go into Displays Preferences, whenever an external monitor is attached and both the built-in screen and the external monitor are being used, you will see some extra options. There should be an Arrangement tab under which you will find those options. One thing that can be done is to toggle the mode of operation between extended desktop mode (which it sounds like your system is already in) and mirror mode. Mirror mode means the same image will be on both screens. This is useful for those times when you want to run a projector to make a presentation. The opposite of mirror mode is extended desktop mode where the two screens are used as independent workspaces.
Another thing to notice under the Arrangement tab is that you will see small representations of the two screens shown as blue rectangles. Notice that one of them will have a white bar across the top. This is meant to represent the menu bar. You can click on and drag that small white menu bar between the two blue rectangles and the real menu bar will move between the two displays accordingly. In this way you can choose which display, the built-in or the external, will have the menu bar and OS X dock. The other thing you can do in this view is drag the blue rectangles into any position you like so that their arrangement and ordering (which is the left screen and which is the right screen) will match the ordering of the real displays. This is so when you move the cursor (or anything else) from one screen to the other, it follows an expected path. What I mean is, if the external monitor is off to the right of the MBP, you rightfully want it so that when you drag the cursor off the right edge of the MBP's screen, it shows up on the left edge of the external monitor's screen. It sounds like the arrangement of your set up might be opposite of this right now which is why you are having trouble moving the cursor between the screens. By moving those little blue squares around, you can tell OS X what the screen alignment is in order to match exactly the real-world alignment of the true screens.

  • InDesign CS3 basic setting question

I just upgraded this weekend and cannot find the preference or setting that allows me to 'show all menu items' without having to click on them. Under every menu and sub-menu item there is an entry for 'show all menu items.' I'd like all the lists to be fully expanded if that is possible.
Thanks in advance for pointing me in right direction on such a basic question.

Am i missing some basic CONFIGURATION setting (persistent setting) here?

    The archivelog is actually at
/data/arch215/arch_603157736_2_47455.arc However, RMAN is looking for it at
/u04/arch214/arch_603157736_2_47455.arcThe path is different. Can you check the filename in v$ARCHIVED_LOG ?
Apparenly, the log_archive_dest_1 parameter is different in the two instances.
Have you configured multiple Channels appropriately to connect to the two instances ?

  • PDCE: Basic set up query.

    Good morning to all,
I see that a data basis is needed at the first place. can you please list out the steps to be taken as prerequisites to PDCE.
We are evaluating various scenarios in PDCE and would like to have a very basic level costing to be done using PDCE but not sure about the first set of steps.
P.S : the standard prerequisites on PDCE is known http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/45/e6a95124aa4483add6b0ef51769284/content.htm
but i find that too complicated to implement at the first place.

    Hi,
I guess this is what you need. A PPT containing detailed steps of PDCE installation from BI content installation to databasis generation. The PPT is prepared by former PDCE solution manager.
Please refer to  http://slidesha.re/f9Bjlq. You really need to have a quick start before you can evaluate this product, and the installation should not be the handicap.
    Hope it helps.

  • HT201335 Can i use airplay with the apple tv and airport express without an internet connection? Basically Set it up as a closed network?

I was told I could set a local network with the airport express, apple Tv, and my iPad to stream videos or pictures to a TV for a presentation.
No internet connection is available at the location.
Is that possible? Or do I need to access itunes homeshare with an internet connection to make this work?
I've set it up at home where I have an internet connection and it works fine but I want to move the setup to my church for a class. The data I'm using is stored on my ipad.
I know I can do this wired with the HDMI adapter but would like to do it wireless.
    Thanks for any help!

Ok so we now have a solution to the problem.   A friend of mine came round to work this out with me last night and we were able to get it working, but it is not as easy as I had hoped.  Fisrtly we plugged the airport express into my router using the ethernet cable  (for this I am using an Airport Express Base Station") and in airport utilities selected the airport express.  In edit, we then gave the airport express a new range of IP address which did not conflict with any of the other applications that I have already assigned.  We also named the Airport Express with a distinguishable name.  We then waited for the changes to be registered then unplugged the Airport Express from the router.  I then plugged my AppleTV via HDMI into a tv to test it and selected the new wifi network with the new Airport Express distinguishable name.  I was able to watch a video that I have on my ipad directly on my tv without being connected to the internet, and was able to play Airplay presentations.
No the easiest solution, and certainly not something that anyone at Apple has talked me through in my lengthy conversations with them at Applecare.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sharing calendars in a small workgroup, basic set up questions

I am getting no where with the new leopard server and ical server.
we have an all mac office, new leopard server and are trying to make the ical server work so that users on the network can see and share each others calendars. the level of documentation i have found so far is disturbingly weak ... this can't be this difficult. Has anyone found a basic ... step by step how to use ical server to enable sharing.
I have managed to publish a calander and view it from another machine ... what i haven't been able to figure out is how someone else might add to that calendar.

there are a few ways to do this.
    A. manage it on the server
    1. Assuming a bunch of users who are all members of a "staff" or other main group, setup the personal cal accounts in iCal client.
    2. On the server, setup a separate group calendar account in iCal in order to delegate individual access to it.
    3. Add users as delegates, one by one. Repeat until your clicky finger aches.
    4. Stop/start calendar services.
    5. Check the box to show the calendar on the client side. Clients should have access to the group calendar now.
    B. use a resource calendar to avoid having to delegate manually
    1. On the server or any machine bound to OD, create a new resource via Directory.app.
    2. Plug in all the details on the info tab.
    3. Under the scheduling tab, check the "reservable" and "auto-accept invitations" boxes. Make sure the calendar server is listed there, too.
    4. Add "staff" -- or whatever OD group -- as the delegate.
    5. Stop/start calendar services.
    6. Check the box to show the calendar on the client side.
    C. add the group calendar separately for each client.
    1. The URL for group calendars follows this format and needs to be added as a separate account (with same username/pass). Just change the URL to: http://serverFQDN:8008/principals/groups/nameofgroup/
    2. Make sure to show the account (check the box), and you're done.
obviously, there are varying degrees of inconvenience in each of those techniques. adding one by one either on the server or the client sides is tedious. ical server is still very much "1.0," as far as i'm concerned.
the least tedious is the resource calendar method, though it may not be ideal for your use. it's not a hack, just a workaround to get the desired behavior.

  • E71 - help needed for basic set up questions

I have just purchased an E71 - a big jump from the last mobile (pre camera era)
But Im lost on this. I ordered the phone online, so Im not sure where to go to get help and instruction about the phone and how to set it up properly and use it. Mannuals aren't my best option. Im in Australia,.
Is there a Nokia store where I can go to help with setting it up?
Does my phone come with a internet security or do I have to purchase it?
    Thanks
    Elven
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Awesome vansharma and kingpin007 - thankyou for your help.
The PUK was with the mobile operator, so I rang them and after a security check procedure I was able to enter the PUK code and get the phone unlocked. Phew!
I checked the Security Warning Web Setting (as you said kingpin007), and the web alert was marked to ON already - so no problems there.
I also registered at Mosh, (the planets must be badly aspected - that took me 12 attempts LOL) and they have one security download NetQin Moble Anti-virus.
     http://mosh.nokia.com/content/61D5A2C3BF97604AE040050A44301BA2
I guess I am questioning weather or not the phone comes installed with any antivirus or security safeguards factory installed ... is my phone secure on the web/emailing/downloading etc. if I dont install the NetQin or something similar?
In the mannual it says this:
"Important: Your device can only support one antivirus application. Having more than one application with antivirus functioning could affect performance and operation and cause the devise to stop functioning"
And presently I trialled the free 7 day 'F7' security application that was a standard downloaded to the phone - but it is too costly for me to subscribe to - it has another day before it runs out, so I am thinking I should wait until it expires before considering dowloading any other security application. Does that sound like the right thing to do?
Well at least Im back to square One with this all ...
Im sure I'll have more questions as I try to work this all out.
Thanks for your help so far ..
    Cheers

  • The basics - setting up email for my family

I have a .MAC account and want to set up my daughter with a secure email address. Sounds like I need to 'purchase' a .MAC account for her so that she has an address then use 'the power of MAC' to create a safe environment.
    Is this correct?

A GoogleMail account (free) will probably do all you require if you only require email and nothing more. .Mac (soon to become MobileMe) is no more 'secure' than any other email providers out there.

  • Basic set-up question

This is a 101 question... please help me as I'm desperate to get my wireless set up. I just moved into a large apartment building and can plug directly into the wall for internet. I'm assuming it's ethernet. Do I have to hook my Base Station up to a modem or can I plug it directly into the socket in the wall like I do my laptop? I'm so confused. I had to go through an external modem at my old house, but that set up is not working here.
    Thanks

My problem is solved thanks to this forum (I double posted in Airport Express). Thanks again Tessarex.

  • Sending my iphone 5 in for a repair and have done all of the instructions including the "erase all content and settings". The phone took me back to the basic set up menu, and now won't turn off. Does it need to be off before going in the box?

The repair it's going in for is the sleep/awake button not working. So im not sure if it's a matter of the button not working or the fact that the phone normally doesn't shut down when you're in the start up menu/setting up all your options (ex. language, country, etc..) Should i just put it in the box to send back with it turned on?

    Hi, kaboomer.
Thank you for the question.  You can send in your iPhone to our repair depot powered on.  We will proceed with evaluating your device once the unit is received.
