Asha 200 SMS memory

hi guys!
I intend to buy an Asha 200 and I need to know what is the size of the SMS memory of this phone.
also, can the SMS be backed-up on a PC via PC Suite?

Are you sure you have not copied the contacts from SIM into the Phone memory ? To confirm.. Keep a not of any one no. on the SIM and then delete it from there. See if it still shows in the Contacts. If yes, then a copy is already in Phone memory. If it doesn't show then re-inter the contact again on the SIM and Factory reset the Phone. Back-up data before the restore for Safety ...

hello, 1 week ago i bought nokia asha 200 and problem is that when i get SMS its shows *some text missing* sms is not full and after several time its comes in complete view. is it operator problem or mobile softwere problem?? i had nokia c6 before this one and never had this problem... can someone help me?

How can I remove .nrw files from my NOKIA Asha 200...

When I am connecting my NOKIA Asha 200 with my PC by data cable, I am watching almost 50 nos. *.nrw files inside the Image folder. I tried to delete all those file, but I was unable. Is there any one, who can tell me how to remove those files from my phone memory?

Back-up your data and then Factory Reset your phone ...(Menu-->Settings-->Restore Factory settings-->Settings only.. followed by 12345 which is default security code, unless set by you) .. When the phone reboots, check whether these .nrw files are now converted to .jpg .. If so, you should be able to delete them now ...

Problem with Nokia Asha 200 apps

Hello guys,
I am using Nokia Asha 200 and i am quite satisfy with this phone. The only drawback that i can find is that i cannot ue it social prebuild apps, like Social and i cannot use the e-mail app as well.
When i open them and accept the license, i am waiting for the software to connect to internet and update it self's, but this never happen. I tried to wait for the apps to finish with there updates but after 10 minutes of inactivity it become clear that it will never happened.
In comparison when i am using the Nokia Web Browser i don't have any problems with opening web pages. The difference between the browser and the apps is that when i browse i see on the top left part of the screen the "E" symbol which indicates that the phone is connected to Edge network, but when i use Social, E-mail or even other apps i had downloaded from Ovi store i am not able to use them. For instance most apps i had download indicate me network connectivity problems. The only app i can use with my 3G internet is Nokia browser.
My software version is:10.58.

You have two options to resolve the issue:
Update the phone's software.
Ask for the configuration settings from your network provider.

Install
Restore (optional)
Finish
Please do not disconnect your phone until the installation is completely finished. Doing so might cause damage to your phone or result in its contents being lost.

Connect your phone to a computer & select Nokia Suite mode. If you do not have Nokia Suite on your pc you can download it from here. Now open the Nokia Suite & click on the “green icon of arrow pointing downwards”.
If any updates are available they will be shown in ‘green’. If not you may reinstall the current version. Reinstall option is shown in ‘blue’. If no option to reinstall is shown, please wait for sometime it will become visible. Then the Nokia Suite will download the new software version of the phone. After it you will be prompted to take a complete back up of the device content. Please do not skip this step as reinstallation will erase all the personal data from the phone like contacts, messages, calendar entries etc.
Please note that if you have set a memory card password & you have forgotten its code then take a backup of the card data also as the card will be locked after update and can only be unlocked if you enter the correct code or by ways mentioned in this thread.
Also note that while updating the device ensure the following things-
The device is full charged.
The internet connection Is of good speed & has a backup in case of power loss.
The PC should also be connected to back up power source as if the process is interrupted the phone may go dead. More on update failure & its remedies here.
Please do not run any resource intensive programs in the background while updating as it may freeze the PC which in turn will lead to a dead device.
Ignore all the windows pop-up notifications about device being disconnected.DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
It will be better if you disable security keyguard & PIN code request before proceeding with Update/Reinstallation.
If your phone shows test mode then do not panic & DO NOT REMOVE the cable, let the update process complete.
If any problem persists please visit the nearest authorised Nokia Care Centre.

Software update problame in asha 200

I have a asha 200 handset. Its internal memory is very very little. If i go to update my mobile software. Then it asks for 5 mb free internal memory which the mobile doesn't have because the mobile memory is blocked by some absurd application like shajam, size converter, nokia music, etc. But I myself dont block any internal memory. So the latest software can be downloaded but unable to install. Please give me suggestion and tell me the way to update software of my asha 200.

Do you have media files saved in the phone memory? As the device supports memory card, if you have it inserted in your device you can transfer the files from the phone memory to the memory card.
Did you download applications from the Nokia Store? As it also affects the memory, you may want to uninstall them and just reinstall them after the update and make sure to select the memory card as the installation preference.

HellKing, could you double-check with FlashTester.org, please? You have to put that URL into an SMS, save that as draft, and then click on it (this open the native Internet browser). Then, you can check the version.

Asha 200 and whatsapp

The only limitation to using whatsapp on asha 200 is because of the background connect which is not available on this phone, i cant imagine how smaller phones like nokia 2700c can have background connect and asha 200 cant... plz guy the only way u can satisfy we ur customers is by updating a software that will enable background connect.

The issue of whatsapp on nokia asha 200,, really u can have whatsapp on ur asha 200 manually.. Follow the steps
find a person that his/her phone support whatsapp then, make sure the application ison his/her phone memory, then insert your memory card into the phone and copy the app to your memory card then insert it back to your asha 200 it will surely work 100%..... But the only prob is that whenever you hide the application,,it will automatically be disconnected from the internet and you wont be able to recieve messages until you open it again bcos nokia asha 200 does nt support connections in background (background connect). Dual standby why not possible asha 200

In asha 200,
while using data the other sim remains inactive & signal goes away...
I want both sim active as in other phones..
I use one sim for data n other for call,sms but whenver i use data other sim remains inactive so i miss important calls...
Plz any solution for that?

With a Nokia? Not aware of. MediaTek based Dual-SIM-Standby phones have found a solution using slower data, but staying available for SMS and incoming calls, although they are not Dual-SIM-Active.
I am not aware of such a solution in Nokia or Samsung land. For such out-of-date chipsets, you have to go for call-forwarding not to miss important calls. Alternatively, you could try an UMTS/3G enabled phone like the Nokia 301 whether this helps in your situation – depends a lot on the used network. Anyway, my tests failed with that as well.

Update problem for nokia asha 200

My problem is i cannot update my my mobile Nokia asha 200 even the update is available is it says not enough phone memory even from that i format the phone memory then also says not enough phone memory try again free some space what to do now update is 49 mb and phone memory is 27 mb so please help me

You don't mention whether you have microSD memory card installed in your Asha 200, which may be possible solution.

Nokia asha 200.problem in opening folders.

I am using nokia asha 200.It is very slow and it takes long time in opening folder.And my nokia music store is also not opening.
How can i solve these problems?And i also wanted to know that if there a antivirus for this mobile handset...?

If there is a lot of content in a folder, it is normal for the phone to take some time in opening that. Try making multiple sub-folders to properly allocate your data.
Do you have some phone memory free? When you run out of phone memory or its very less free memory left, the device starts running slow as because it uses come of the phone memory to as physical memory.
What error do you experience when opening Nokia Music? Does it suddenly close? If so, your phone needs a Firmware Re-Install. You can give Nokia Suite a chance to do that or better visit a Nokia Care Center.
Your phone doesn't need a Anti-Virus that's why there is no such product available. Asha series phones run on S40 OS and it cannot be infected by viruses. Viruses can't bring any harm to its file system

nokia asha 200,after I inserted a corrupt memory card in my phone some of my applications and save contacts deleted/unavailable and I can't read some text messages,my phone keeps switching off and now it's totally dead,what should i do?

Hope you have tried switching the phone ON after removing the corrupted Memory Card from the phone..

Nokia Asha 200 Browser Problem

I have problem with my "Nokia Browser" in my "Asha 200".
The browser is unable to open too long links.(links containing more than 40-50 characters in it).
I am unable to download movies...

Hey Csn001, Welcome to the Nokia Forums.
Are you using the native browser?
You could try and clear the cache memory in the browser settings and see if that allows you to fully load pages.
You can also download a third party browser from the Nokia Store and see if that resolves any browsing issues you are currently facing.
Also, by which method are you trying to download movies?

Nokia Asha 200, keeps turning OFF

Hello everybody,
I have serious problems with my nokia phone, asha 200 ...
it's happened some bugs and people say to me that an upgrade will can solve this bug, so i did my asha 200 upgrade to 11.56, then bugs continued and after few days, my phone swicth off and keeps turning off.
I want to precise that i have a new asha 200, who is around 3-4 months old.

Further to the post by adrianhughes , Remove the SIM and Memory Card and switch the phone ON. Check if the problem remains. If the phone remains ON without any issues, insert the SIM and the MC but one at a time. If the problem reappears with the SIM inserted, you may get the SIM replaced thru' your Operator. Most Operators do that for Free. If the problem comes back when you insert the MC, back-up its content on the PC and Format the MC. Then try again ..
