Asha 201 problem - can't get it to hide SIM contac...

The phone only shows both contacts that are in the phone and the ones in SIM. I can't remove the SIM ones one by one... Do I have to put SIM card in another phone and erase contacts in SIM or is there any other way. I couldn't find it anywhere in options.

Hi dubrovnik4,
Welcome to the forum!
For you to delete all the contacts saved in your simcard, we have to change the settings of your contacts first.
Here are the steps on how to change the settings of your contacts list:
Go to Menu.
Select Contacts.
Scroll down to More.
Choose Settings.
Open Memory in Use.
Select SIM card only.
Now you can select all your contacts and delete them. Note that a small sim card icon appears at the upper top right corner of your screen before the time display. This notifies you that the contact highlighted is saved in your sim card.
If you want to delete all your contacts save in your SIM card, here are the steps:
Go to Menu.
Open Contacts.
Open Names.
Select options.
Scroll down to More.
Select Marking options.
Choose Mark all.
Click on options again and then choose delete marked.
We hope that this will resolve your concern.
Regards,
Ricky07

If I purchased an app and after 90 days it gives me problems can i get my money back

The app worked for 90 days ? Have you tried deleting and (if it's still in your country's store) redownloading the app via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your phone (or sync it back from your computer's iTunes), and if that doesn't fix it then you've tried contacting the app's developer ?

  • Really annoying problem, can't get past 'getting started' screen!

    Hi,
Can't get ipod and itunes working for the first time!
Ipod is plugged in and appears in the itunes menu, click on ipod and a screen appears on the right hand side saying something like 'getting started'. The problem is that the type runs over the edge of the window (can't read all the info) and there's no link/tickbox to set up the ipod. Tried widening window but moves about an inch then stops. Is there any way to get things working without this annoying problem?
I'm trying to get this working for a friend and don't know much about Windows as I use a mac (which worked first time with my ipod!).
    Any replies appreciated, Steve.
    Ipod classic 80 gig/win XP/itunes 7.5

I have the EXACT same problem. I own a first generation iPod nano and I loved it so much that I bought my boyfriend the 3rd generation. I downloaded iTunes for him and everything was going great until I went to register. The screen is doing exactly what you described. You can tell there is something on the right side that needs to be clicked but you can't scroll over there to do it. I'm frustrated because he wanted to sync all his music before we started to travel for the holidays and now we can't! Please let me know if you figure anything out or find out anything. Thank you!!
FYI - I tried to register online to see if that would help but it didn't make a difference. Also, you can still put songs onto your iPod by dragging them into the iPod section but once they are there you can't manipulate them or take them back off.

  • Imap problems - can't get it into "send folder" on...

    1) I have read through these boards and could not find a solution.
is it possible to get the nokia messenger ( my case N86) to put the email in sent folder and sync it with the server.
It works in my 2010 outlook, but not on my n86. i only keeps the sent items on a local sent map on n86
    somebody get it to work?

You are limited on what  you can do with a device of that nature.  You might consider bypassing your router (if possible) and connecting the device directly to your modem then power cycling both it and your modem.  Sometimes those devices can be stubborn and will not pull an IP address.   If you can't get away from using your router temporarily/permanently you might consider either resetting the router to factory defaults or setting up a DHCP reservation in the router (if the option exists).  This would be an area in your router where you supply a static IP address and the MAC address off the base station into the settings of your router.  This way the next time your router and base station are rebooted it will be assigned the address you assigned it.  You can then see if you can ping that IP address from your computer to test for connectivity.
Example of a DHCP reservation option (called Static DHCP in this example)

Isn't that declaring the function for the button? Not really. You'll need to have an object listen for button events.
    Also:
    1. Don't mix AWT components with Swing components.
    2. Please post Swing questions in the Swing forums.
~I agree with yawmark on this. It even states in the API that Swing and AWT components should NEVER be used together. Swing is JVM generated, so it will not work with the OS generated AWT well.

  • Macbook Air and iBahn problem -- can't get to the log-in page

This is a new Air (2012) running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  The location is a Sheraton hotel that uses iBahn for Internet service. I can connect to the wifi network "iBahn," and the Network preference panel shows that my Mac has been successfully assigned an ip number. I click the advanced tab and confirm that iBahn's DNS servers are now listed there. But when I open the browser and try to connect, I cannot get the hotel log-in page. I get a blank window instead. Reloading the window does not help. I have tried the usual remedies: turning wifi off and then back on again, requesting a new DHCP lease, closing and reopening the browser, trying different browsers (Firefox, Chrome), restarting the computer -- none of this works. I have tried shutting down the Mac, restarting, and signing in to a different account on the computer. The symptoms are the same -- a blank page instead of a log-in screen. I have had no trouble connecting with several other wifi networks elsewhere -- including ones that require a browser log-in page. Later the same morning, the wifi at the airport worked just fine.
Here is where it gets even weirder. I happened to have a second Mac Air with me -- a 2010 model. It logged on to the hotel network with no problems: I opened the browser and the log-in page immediately appeared.
And weirder: There was also an ethernet cable in the room. When I plugged that into the 2012 Air (with a USB-ethernet adaptor) I could connect with no problem. Finally, I found that I can plug an Airport Express into the ethernet cable and the 2012 Air will connect wirelessly through that.
What could be wrong here? I assume that iBahn works by obtaining and registering a machine's MAC address. Using wifi, Ibahn was able to get the MAC address from the older 2010 Air and from the Airport Express, but not from the 2012 Air. But the 2012 Air could provide its MAC address through a wired connection. Any advice would be most appreciated. Though I was able to come up with a workaround, I want to ensure that this doesn’t happen elsewhere.

That's a good question. The page appeared to be blank. I didn't know it was possible to enact the page source view feature in Mountain Lion. That is good to know for the future -- thanks.
An additional bit of information: a Windows laptop was also able to connect. I wonder if something changed in the Apple wifi firmfare that is incompatible with iBahn.
Interestingly, similar problems are reported in these forums for iPads and iBahn. And FlyerTalk has a thread about Apple laptops and iBahn: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marriott-rewards-including-ritz-carlton/1228814-i bahn-aggravation.html

  • Wifi Problem - can't get iPod Touch to connect to Internet

I've seen lots of posts and discussions around this issue but cannot seem to nail down a solution. I have no security or encryption whatsoever with my wireless router & network. Other devices can connect wirelessly with no problem but my iPod Touch, although it shows that it is connected to my wireless network with all the proper DNS settings, it cannot access the internet. Of course, none of the wifi-based apps will work as a result.
Based on what I've deduced so far, I think the issue is that my brand new iPod Touch does not like my older Linksys WRK54G wireless router. That said, my brother's newer iPhone picked up my wireless network fine recently??
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

I have read all the posts and did all the numerous solutions/suggestions for 2 days now and what worked for me is this:
I went to Dlink online and went to Wireless connection settings to change the SSID name as if I am using my router for the first time, then changed it to WPA 20 characters! then saved the settings. Do this on the original PC (in my case, a desktop linked to the router via Ethernet cable as I have 2 laptops running
from that router as well. Note, before doing the "Save the settings"
above, I reset the Dlink router (by putting a pin at the back of the unit,
then turning it off and on including my separate Netcomm modem.
You then go back to your Ipod touch/ Settings and Choose the new Network Name.GOOD LUCK.

  • Start up problem-can't get past Apple grey screen and spinning gear

Upon trying to start up my laptop, got nothing but the apple logo, grey screen and spinning gear. I tried several things to resolve the problem on my own (hardware test said it could not verify the disk/could not start up from the OS X install disk/reset the power mgmt. unit/disconnected all peripherals)and finally went to the Apple store. Genius bar said they were able to start up from their hard drive and suggested that I buy an external hard drive, go home, start up again and back up all files. I bought a My Book. Got home and same thing happened: Apple logo and spinning gear. I am an Apple user of 18 years, but have not had to do much in the way of diagnostics. Have tried fsck routine today that I found on another posting here today. If the Genius guy got it going, I assumed that I could too. I was wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. It looks like this is the end of the road for my Powerbook, but I'd like a shot at recovering data.

    Hi Debbie/Gregg -
I may have missed something but can't you just put a new hard drive in your laptops? You may not be able to recover your data but it doesn't mean the end for your computer. The same thing happened to my TiBook and I put a new 120Gig hard drive in and it's had a new lease of life.
I bought a new internal hard drive along with an external enclosure and connected it up to my computer and from there cloned it. Then I transferred the external into the TiBook and put the old drive into the external and I use that as an external now. I realise your hard drives are dead but you could use another computer to so the same thing and just install the OS on it.
    I bought this -
    http://www.macupgrades.co.uk/store/productinfo.php?productsid=452
Then followed the instructions here -
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/PowerBook-G4-Ti-DVI/HD-Replacement/33/6/
Once your new hard drive is installed you may be able to try and repair the old one in the external enclosure?

  • Nokia Asha 201 problem re car charger

I have just bought a USB car phone charger but I only get a message Unsupportable USB device. Disconnect cable. The retailer sent me another cable but still the same. What does this mean?

Hopefully, a employee comes by and double-check whether your Nokia 201 supports USB charging at all. You are able to double-check yourself, by using a Micro-USB cable, shutdown your computer, and try to recharge it via that. If that works, you know, it supports USB charging.

  • Blank Alarm Problem - Can't get rid of them

Hi - first post. I'll dive right in. I have 2 alarms that open up when I start iCal. The problem is neither of them have any writing in them or any of the usual 3 buttons. The only option I have is to close the alarm using the red x in the top left. Of course, this means that every time I start up, the blank alarms come up. Any help would really be appreciated!

    Austin,
I got a script error when I hit run. I decided to exercise the nuclear option. Problem is now fixed! Here is what I did:
1 - I exported my 3 calendars: personal, travel and babies (expecting twins in a month!).
2 - I created a new "temp" calendar and deleted the other 3. I quit and re-launched iCal app. No blank alarm... problem temporarily fixed!
    3 - I re-imported personal calendar (personal.ics). I quit and re-launched iCal app. The blank alarm re-appeared.
4 - I went through every To Do item and did the following:
    a - check "due date"
b - made sure "alarm" was set to "none"
    c - unchecked "due date"
At least one "to do" event had an alarm set even though the "due date" had been unchecked. I probably set an alarm and then unchecked due date. I believe this may have caused a corruption somewhere.
5 - I quit and re-launched iCal app. No blank alarm.
6 - I re-imported my other two calendar files (travel.ics and babies.ics). I quit and re-launched iCal app. No blank alarm!
Clearly the corruption was in the "personal" calendar.
FWIW - here is the AppleScript Error I received when I ran the 2nd script you posted: "Can't make «class wr1s» of item 4 of every «class wret» of item 1 of every «class wres» of application "iCal" into type string."
Thanks again for your help. It spurred me to dig deeper.

  • Firewall problems, can I get around this?

Hi all new to the forum and new to home networking.  I have a WRT54G wireless router connected to my NTL (now Virgin Media) modem.  The router is then hardwired to my PC.  I have a WPC54GS adaptor card in my laptop.  Having connected I get perfect internet, but to enable the PC and laptop to see each other I have to turn off Zone alarms on the PC and PCGuard on the laptop.  The reason for this is that when I go to "my network connections" the documents on the pc and laptop are under the internet and not the LAN.  Therefore in the firewall settings they are in the internet zone and not the trusted zone.  I am assuming that my only option here for file and print sharing without disabling the firewalls is to purchase a usb wirelss adaptor for the laptop, and use this as my LAN connection, keeping the existing card for internet connection?  Or is there a way around my problem without purchasing anything else?
    Regards
    Darren

Does nobody know how to set it up to accept internet and LAN? Or is it that I just leave firewalls off? The router has it's own firewall and I still have XP firewall running on both laptop and PC, but is that enough security? I don't download much, purely browsing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Darren

  • Time Capsule Problems - Can't get initial back-up to work

Help!!! I've got a modem hooked up to an Airport Extreme to create a wireless network. I just purchased a Time Capsule to put upstairs to extend the reach of my network and also back-up my MacBook Pro. I set-up the time capsule, everything is visible, green lights and all, but all back-up attempts are failing. A couple have saved about 200 MB but that's as far as it's gotten.
    Any words of wisdom?
    Thanks.

    CVDW, welcome to the discussions!
Are you trying to do your first backup wirelessly?
If so, use an ethernet connection for the first backup because it is likely 40 Gigs or more and you have much less chance of errors with a wired connection. Once your first backup is complete, you can probably use wireless for subsequent backups because they will be much smaller and faster.
Turn off the wireless on your MacBook Pro for the time being.
Connect the ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports on your TC directly to your computer.
Open Airport Utility, click on Manual Setup and click on the Disks icon at the top of the pane. Then click on the File Sharing Tab just below the icons and make sure there is a check mark next to Enable File Sharing. Click Update if you have made any changes, otherwise you can close AirPort Utility.
Now Open System Preferences from your dock and open Time Machine. If Time Machine is On, Turn it Off. You may need to click the lock to make changes. Close Time Machine.
Restart your computer. Go to System Preferences > Time Machine and turn it On.
Click Change Disk then click your Time Capsule to highlight it and then click Use for Backup. Close Time Machine.
Now you can click the Time Machine clock icon at the top of your screen and select Back Up Now. Depending on how much data you have on your computer, and previous errors, the backup process can take a long time....a very long time.
The best time to do this is late evening so the backup will run overnight and you can check progress in the morning. It may take a day or two to complete the first backup. Stick with it and resist the urge to cancel the backup.
Post back on your progress in a day or two. If this doesn't do it, there are more surgical steps to take.
