Asha 210 backup

Can anybody  let me know which software is needed to download the backup files of Nokia Asha 210 mobile from sim card or through cable download and then to open it.  I saved contacts and messages on sd card but unable to open them on my laptop.  It needs the software for opening it.
Moderator's note: A more appropriate title was provided. Also, phone number was removed on this post. It is unwise to publish personal contact info on a public forum.

Hi Sham73,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the Nokia Supports Discussions!
Are you pertaining to the .nbu file saved on your SD card? If yes, You have to restore the backup of your phone to view the files. However, upon checking on the other boards, I found this information. Please refer to the link: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Transfer-SMS-from-old-Symbian-to-WP7-A-Workaround/m-p/12.... Note that the user on this link uses a windowsphone but you can use the same software that the user did.
Let us know if this solves your issue.

  • Asha 210 and Nokia Suite??

    Hello,
I am trying to sync my new asha 210 with Nokia Suite but it tells me its not supported. As that phone is quite new, how is it possible it is not supported?
I want to import all my messages and contacts from my old nokia 2710, but I can't. Should this be a joke?
I was always a big Nokia fan, but this is just a huge disappointment at the moment. If I can't get this running, my asha will be going back, quite useless without sync options...........
    Thanks for any help anyway

Use the phone switch option found
    in settings- sync and backup.
    Hope this helps.

  • Asha 210 produces headset-quality sound instead of...

The phone, Asha 210, thinks that my earphones is a headphones, and it even show the symbol of a headphone without a headset attachment on the home page of the phone, but it still produces the sound similar to a headset. Without changing it, the earphones will produce sounds at a lower volume and without any bass.
In my opinion, there may be two possible causes to this. First, the phone thinks that the earphones is a headphone but it produces a headset-quality sound instead. The other, which is more reasonable, is that the earphone with headset capability is not compatible with the phone.
Of course, I have tried to search the button to change it but there is not any on the phone. The only way to solve it is to hold down the headset button on the earphones or tape it, but that would not do justice to the problem with the phone and its audio system.
Is it because that Asha 210 is not compatible with headsets? Or is there a button to change what the phone identifies the earphones as (from headset to headphones, despite saying that it already identifies it as headphones)?
Update: I rewrote my question again as it is very misleading. I did not delete this so that others will know what the answer may be. The other thing is that I think I may have thought that the enchancement option is available for the Asha 210; it turns out to be an option for the E63 model. As for the Asha 210, I am quite certain that there is no option to manually change in between function for headset or headphones on the phone. Thanks for reading.

    Welcome to Nokia Discussions, boxysnatch.
    First make a backup:
    1. Select Menu > Settings> Sync and backup.
    2. Select Create backup
    Next: Perform a hard reset:
Go to standby screen and enter *#7370#. Press ok. The process might take for about 5 minutes. The handset will restart after the procedure.
    Last: Restore a backup:
    1. Select Menu > Settings> Sync and backup.
    2. Select Restore backup.
If the above steps does not help, I advise using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool which can be downloaded through the page below.

  • Asha 210 automatically defaulted itself to factory...

I had switched off my phone, take off the battery to switch sim cards. When i turned it on, all my settings (shortcut keys, order of menu, home screen etc) were gone. My apps and games refused to open with 'app invalid. Delete?'. I updated those apps and things seemed to be ok. I then switched off the phone and turned it on again, and all my apps/games were gone. Too bad i never took seriously the 'backup' feature. My question is, is this a common thing with Asha 210s or was it just my phone or something i have done? Can i prevent this in the future or do i have to rely on the backup feature?

You may have removed the battery to fast, because the file system got corrupted. One trick is to make sure, the display is really powered-off, then the Nokia 210 software finished its shutdown. If you are a good citizen, you wait a minute before removing the battery – just to make sure.

    1) You would have to use Google Maps .jar relying on network positioning (inaccurate)
    3) FOTA updates only: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/asha-software-update/

  • Asha 210 Yahoo Inbox not showing

I just got a new Asha 210 phone.  I have two mail accounts with it connected.  The Hotmail one works fine.  The Yahoo one always shows the Inbox as (empty) even after refresh.  It shows that it is busy doing the refresh but the Inbox always shows as empty.  I know it is connecting to Yahoo because I can go to 'sent mail' through the folders and see the messages in that folder.  It was like this when I first got the phone and it is still like this after updating software.  I can connect to Yahoo mail as a web page but would prefer the Mail connection.  I am in Australia.  Also Yahoo mail gives a warning that on January 8 all connections will be through SSL.  I'm not sure if this affects Nokia.

    Hi johnpj,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Have you tried removing the Yahoo! account on the phone and set it up again? You can also try toggling between the internet connection that you have on the phone. You can go to your Settings > Configuration > choose between SIM1 or SIM2 then select your operator's access point. Try doing a reboot also on your phone by switching it off and on again.

  • Conflicting app, nokia asha 210

i am using nokia asha 210 and after i upgrade the mail app, the phone is showing "conflicting application" every time i switched on my phone and every time i tried to open other application such as whatsapp (which is the only one working after the upgrade). plus, all other apps such as youtube, the inbuilt nokia browser, and the "mail" itself is not opening, and also other downloaded apps like uc browser etc. therefore i tried updating the device by going to the settings and after i downloaded all the software, it says it requires 5 mb to install the software but even after i delete everything what i can from my phone, there still isn't enough space left to install the software. and in the following link http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Asha-and-other-Nokia-Series-30/Conflicting-apps-nokia-browser-nokia-... this guy is suggesting to 1) Remove the existing Nokia Xpress Browser installation. 2) Open the regular web browser or access Nokia Store App and download the Opera Mini Client. 3) Enter http://download.browser.ovi.com on the address bar and enter. but we don't have the option to delete the inbuilt softwares, do we? give me an idea how to do if thats possible. but now i need help on how to stop encountering this conflicting app and what can i do to open other applications.

Conflicting applications normally indicates a corrupted the file system, especially if more than one app is affected. Because the Nokia Series 40 internal reset/restore feature is not able to re-build its file system: Did you consider to go for the Software Recovery Tool via a Windows computer already?
    panmei wrote:

Not from within the phone, only via MobiMB. Anyway, that step is wrong. The suggestion is to replace/overwrite the existing Nokia Xpress installation via the manual download. That suggestion was originally made here …

  • Notification problem on Asha 210

I bought my Asha 210 august ending and its working well untill three weeks ago that it stopped showing notifications when i have messages on facebook, whatsapp. I restored the factory settings, still its not working, and the notification settings is on.Pls any help on how to solve this problem

    Hi mofizzy,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Are you using Asha 210 as well? Does it happen when using both Wi-Fi and cellular data connection? Have you already tried rebooting your phone to see if there's any difference?
You may also try the following steps to check if it helps:
    1. Try to reset the phone's settings. This will not affect your files saved on the phone. To do this, go to Settings > Restore factory sett. > Settings only > enter the security code. The default code is 12345 unless changed.
    2.  Try to check if there's an available update for your phone. See this link for more info: Software update instruction.

  • Asha 210 downloads but doesn't run apps

    Hello,
I have just bought a nokia asha 210 phone. I connect to the Nokia Store, find and download an application for this phone. But at the end, it just shows me a filename (with .jar extension) and says "unknown state" and I can't locate the appliacation and can't run it. What could be the problem?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, sayat. To verify, does it only happen to a particular application? If yes, please provide the name of the app. In case that all apps are getting the same error message while installing them on your phone, this link might be useful: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA116029. The link provided is intented for the US, but try accessing it on your local page.

  • [HELP] Asha 210 - GSM Modem Mode

    Dear all,
In Win7 (a newly installed win7), after installing "Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver", I am able to see the Nokia Asha 210 appears as a com port.
I connect to that com port using HyperTrm.exe (copied from WinXp). Connect using 9600 8N1.
When I type "AT&V" The terminal just hang for approximately 30sec to 1min before return, and shows no results.
May I know what I can do to enable this modem mode again?
It used to work before this.
    TIA.
    Kwan

    I found the issue.
In Device Manager it shows that Asha 210 is connected to COM3, but it actual fact I can only get response from COM4.
Something wrong with the Asha driver.

  • How to save photos from Facebook on Nokia Asha 210...

    Hi,
Anyone know how to save photos from Facebook or from Facebook messenger on the Asha 210? Can't seem to find a way to save photos people post or send me to my phone.
    Thanks

hi mate if there are no options within the Facebook app, the only other thing you can try is visiting the mobile version of the Facebook website thru the phone browser itself, and seeing if there is a save picture option in there..

  • Background XMPP chat on Nokia Asha 210?

    Hi guys,
Do you know if there is any Jabber/XMPP chat application for Asha 210 which can work in background mode?
All the apps that I have tried simply have no ability to go into the background mode. If the 'cancel call' button is pressed, Nokia suggests to close the chat application and obvisously my Jabber account goes offline.
    I have tried these apps:
Talkonaut (has a background option in the menu, but it does not work)
    Bombus
    Jimm Jabber
    Mova Messenger

  • Unable to unlock Asha 210

    Hi,
I've been around the houses with Vodafone for weeks now trying to unlock an Asha 210 from their network. One bright spark at customer services suggested there may be an issue with the phone's design preventing me from entering the Vodafone unlock code in a format the phone will recognise. For example, he suggests that the "p" and the "w" required for the code, when entered on the QWERTY keyboard, may not be the "p" and the "w" the phone expects. Instead he said something about pressing and holding the * button, which doesn't work as he hoped with the 210. Anyway, I barely understand what he was saying really but does it sound like he might be right? Has anyone any advice?
    best
    J

P(ause) and W(ait) are the third and forth character on the button Star, normally with a Nokia Series 40 phone like yours. However, with a QWERTY phone like your Nokia 210, you push the w and p directly. Just to enter a number and play around to get used to it. Now, when it comes to the unlock procedure – I have no idea (because I am an end-user like you): Normally, you
    insert a different SIM,
    push the soft-key ‘Unlock’, and
enter #pw+…+.# like you would dial a number into that number field.
From your description, you are not able to do so. Please, go for a camera with auto-focus and make a screenshot at that stage, after entering that hash character. Attach this screenshot, here. Perhaps we are able to determine the state of the input field together (123 mode, abc mode, …).
