Asha 501: Message Notifications Bug

Hi,
There seems to be a bug in the messages notifications i.e.., if I receive say "3" no. of new messages. I can see the 3 new messages notifications but, If I try to click on just the "message" icon without even opening any one messages, all the notifications are gone. But still there are still "3" messages that are left unread.
I think this bug should be fixed along with the option to delete multiple messages.

My Asha 501 does the same thing. It might have been on purpose but I think, like you, I'd rather have the notifications stay on until I read the actual texts.

Message notification bug??

There seems to be a bug in iOS notification. I don't get a notification when I tried to send a message to my iPhone from my WIFI iPad. The message is there but never got a notification. However, sending message from my iPhone to my iPad, I do get a notification on my iPad as expected. I am running latest iOS 5.1 on both devices. Is that a known problem?

Nokia 501 push notification bug

I bought a 501 has been 2 weeks and Push notification features of Facebook does not work. It always display "enabling" and then yesterday I no longer see the option Push notification on FB app anymore. ? Will I be alone this error? My FB version is 3.2.2

What can i do now ? I want to reset but Nokia suite not support this phone

Line with audio messages for Asha 501.

Line app updated with Audio messages feature and with Recently sent stickers. The app is better than previous version.

Asha 501 isn't supporter by Nokia suite, so you can't install apps from PC like any other Nokia phone.
You aren't able to access Nokia store via Wifi as well?. I would suggest a phone settings reset, you *will* lose data stored on the phone so backup before you decide to reset it.

Notification bug when "View in Lock Screen" messages notification option is OFF

Phone : iPhone 5
iOS version : 6.1.3
Situation:
All notification option for messages are ON.
Only "View in Lock Screen" messages notification option is OFF.
Action:
The user is in the messages app and then locks the phone pushing the hold button.
If a messge arrive there is no "preview" in the lockscreen (and this situation is correct) but no sound is produced (THIS IS A BUG).
If the user exit from the messages app, locks the phone pushing the hold button and then arrive a message there is no "preview" in the lockscreen (and this situation is correct) and a sound is produced (THIS IS CORRECT).

Asha 501: WhatsApp/Facebook Notifications not work...

If my mobile's wifi/data is not active say "1 day", during this time if there are any new messages pending to receive.
when I try to activate wifi/data the next day it doesn't show the new messages notifications for WhatsApp/Facebook/Line/WeChat. Though there are one ore more new messages from my friends..
I need to restart my phone, then it shows all the read/unread messages i.e for which I didn't get notifications as a new notification again.
I guess this problem is with the phone notifications. I wish NOKIA to fix this issue at the earliest.

yeah But the issue with only Wechat,Fb,LINE apps but Whatsapp works perfect though the data is turned on after 10 days,it shows the notifications within less than a minute with out actually opening the app

Problem with Nokia Asha 501

I have recently purchased asha 501 the problem is after recieving few messages it does not recieve more messages for that i have to restart the phone then i can able to recieve the messages . It happen 3 to 4 times a day . it is not a network issue for that i have changed sims several times . even some time messages sent from other phones never recieved even though i have restarted phone several times and that is tested for several times .
Kindly solve that bug in the next update of nokia .

It is really difficult for me to send text messages in My nokia Asha 501.The following are the issues i am facing.Please provide updates.
A)No option to send messages to contact groups (we cant create contact group).Even the basic nokia mobile have this feature.
B)After typing the messages we need to select contacts one by one by clicking on the + sign. No option to mark many contacts to send sms at a go.(Marking of contacts is a must feature of any mobile phones but nokia ASHA 501 lacks that.)
C)i have around 500 contacts, so its difficult for me to browse through all the contacts to select the one to whom i can send the sms.Also filtering of names is not of good standard some time filtering correctly and some times not filtering correctly.
D) please concentrate on the basic features first then concentrate on applications.There is noway to delete or uninstall the use less Assasin creed demo game app that is pre installed.

Asha 501 : Whatsapp has copy to clipboard but no p...

Hi,
I'm very happy that whatsapp has come for Asha 501 with all most all the features. When I try to hold on any message it give me the option to copy the message to clipboard. But no paste option yet available.
Is this is a bug in the software or we can expect the paste option in future update.

This is actually what is happening with the rest of asha phones which don't have clipboard. Now because message text cannot be selected, whatsapp team included this copy option to copy the entire message to the clipboard. But it only works on phones which actually have in-built clipboard functionality. For the others, copied text goes nowhere and cannot be pasted.
This should start working when (and if ever) copy and paste from clipboard is enabled in the Asha 501.

Blank screen after Ending a call on Asha 501

I got a new Asha 501 last week. I am very happy with the product and its worth for the money spent.
However, two issues i have noticed so far and its bothering me a bit
1. after ending a call the screen goes blank and sometimes it takes a bit to end the call. This is very awkward during some important calls. would appreciate if there is any solution for this.
2. Mail app takes a long time to load the message contents. I know 2g is not the fastest connection but still this is too slow even for 2g.

1. On call, when you bring your phone near to your ear, the Proximity sensor recognises your ear and turn off the screen so that there is no unwanted inputs as the screen touches your skin. But when you pull it back, it turns the screen on again, but it takes 0.5-1 second to the Max.
If it takes longer, make sure there is nothing in front of sensor (it is placed on top left), like Plastic lamination, some accessory, dust or while you pull off your phone, your finger should not be there.
If it still takes longer, better make your device checked at Nokia Care. If found some problem, they will change the sensor.
2. The mail app is working perfectly fine for me on Wi-Fi. You should try loading some websites in browser, if it takes longer, check network strength, it should be strong on 2G internet (Personal experience- BSNL 2G, residing near Network tower, slow like hell, in INDIA). Try changing provider.

Asha 501: VoIP, TLS and certificates

I've recently added sip account to my Asha 501. It works great when I use UDP or TCP transport, but when i switch to TLS it can't connect to the server. I think, this may be caused by self-signed server certificate.
So, is there a way to add my own certificates to Nokia Asha 501 ?

I am trying to use TLS in voip environment and I am in a cross roads.
The guy who manages the asterisk server sent me two certificates: One CA.crt and another User.pem.
I have been able to make the asha 311 accept the CA.crt (after changing it to a ca.der file, according to this post: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Asha-and-other-Nokia-Series-30/HOW-TO-INSTALL-ROOT-Authority-CERTIFI...
But when I try to download the User.pem certificate, I get a message saying "no gateway reply".
So, I have two questions. ONe is, do I relly need these two certificates - is it that the asterisk guy is over complicting things?
The other is. if I need this pem file, how can I make the mobile accepct it?

No messaging notifications or caller id on Lumia 9...

As of a couple of days ago, I haven't been receiving messaging notifications.
I still recieve the message, they just don't show up on the live tile, the lock screen or make a sound.
It's getting very frustrating.
Also, whenever I recieve a call, I don't get their caller ID. It just shows a number even though I definitely have them on my contacts.
I'm using a Lumia 920

Hi, I'm in New Zealand and have a similar (and almost contradictory) problem.
When I first got my Lumia 920 I had my contacts loaded in the form 027 1234567 (where 027 is a mobile prefix in New Zealand).
Then I started to get texts and they arrived in the format +64271234567 (+64 is the country code for New Zealand), so no callerID for text messages was working.
I figured the phone needed an international format for phone numbers so I went through all my contacts and added the +64 country code and removed the leading 0 for the area code. That sorted all the text messages, they correctly get linked to contacts. Sorted, I thought.
But then I started receiving calls and they came through in the format 0271234567, so now no callerID works for calls.
The phone seems to want both formats, and we apparently need to double up all our phone numbers (country code included and excluded), since this applies to both landlines and mobiles.
Is there any way around this? Is this a known bug that's being worked on or a 'feature'?

NOKIA ASHA 501 CAMERA SHUTTER SOUND CANT BE TURNED...

Dear Nokia ASHA 501 users there is a bug left by NOKIA in its ASHA 501 you cant switch OFF the camera sound there is ON?OFF slider which is left at ON mode by NOKIA its disabled at that mode you cant scroll it to OFF the shutter sound

If you cant turn it off its set up that way for a reason,its common in most countries for this option to be locked,due to privacy laws.

I brought it in UK , I register in UK, I am in UK and as country i chosen Great Britain.
So it will not be available for me ever? Or if i somehow use india proxy and i will be available to use it after download.

Asha 501 can't fetch large MMS

My Nokia Asha will not receive pictures that are over a certain size limit.
If I send a large photo to the Asha 501, it says "Can't download message."
If I send a small photo to the Asha 501, it has no trouble displaying the photo.
I have 64MBs of free space, so that can't be the problem.
How do I remove the size limit?

If I recall right, the general MMS size limit is set to 300k in Asha 501. And in some countries the size limit can be as low as 100k. Also network operators may have their own limits. Same size limits (300k or 100k) apply to both sending and receiving MMS messages.
Typically phones would compress/downscale the photos before sending them via MMS, so this wouldn't be a problem. But if the sending phone does not compress the photo (for reason or other), then you may indeed run into this situation.

Text messaging notifications won't sound after update

So I updated today to what I am assuming is the 4.3. And ever since that, my text message notification sounds won't play. Yes, my phone's sound is on. When I receive a text, the phone will vibrate but not play my notification tone.
My other tones work fine (email and phone calls).
Any suggestions for what to do?

My volumes were not turned down. Verified that. I ended up calling VZ and they got Samsung on the line and they said that this is a known bug with the latest update. Along with possibly breaking WiFi, horrible battery life, or even preventing the phone from powering on. What they said I needed to do was a factory reset on the phone. Once I did that, everything worked again. Samsung also said to not install any updates until they push 4.4 Kit Kat.
