Asha 501: Wha'tsapp doesn't share .mp4 files, down...

Hi,
I've .mp4 files in my mobiles, that I've transferred though another mobile nokia 720. These songs were downloaded via nokia store.
When I press on these .mp4 files, it doesn't give me the option to share the file through whatsapp. Is it due to copyrights permission
Are there any limitations about sharing in whatsapp messaging services...

Is it implemented on the other MP4 videos? I guess you can still share these songs from directly within the chat window by choosing options> send audio?

I'm using my gmail account in the asha 501. I cannot see any option to download the attachment to my phone.
Also, it takes all the time on earth to open large messages, though I agree its 2g speed but its taking a lot of time and round sign revolves and nothing happens and I need to quit that msg.

Photoshop CS5 doesn't import mp4 files?

Hi everyone,
I have tried literally everything but I'm really lost right now. Photoshop won't import mp4 or any other file, it only accepts avi container files.
It's a pain to convert every single file to avi if I want to use Import > Video frames to layers.
I have already installed Quicktime Pro but that doesn't seem to work.
Can somebody please help me?

MP4 file format is a container format which defines the storage of MPEG-4 audio, scenes and multimedia content using the ISO Base Media File Format, the MP4 file may also contain any number of audio, video, and even subtitle streams. So it is impossible for the MP4 file to determine the type of streams in an MPEG-4 file based on its filename extension alone. If you have problem of importing MP4 to Photoshop CS5/CS4/CS3 on Windows or on Mac, it is better to convert MP4 to Photoshop CS6/CS5/CS4 supported video format MPEG-4.

Yes you'll likely need to re-rip the album to your iPod.
How many songs are reported in your iTunes library?
When you said you selected your entire iTunes library and made sure they were not set to skip when shuffling, how exactly did you do that?
There seems to be a missing piece of information here that would help explain the differences in numbers.

That was not the focus of the update. Unless a developer develops such an App, there's nothing else to talk about.

Asha 501 Music player without equalisers

Hi,
My nokia asha 501 music player doesn't have equalisers, can we expect the next future release of the asha software..
Also, when I plugin the earphone and listen any songs and unplug the earphone music stops. Is this expected behavior,
I've check with other phone, ideally they should play in the speakers but music player stops working as soon as I plug out earphone.
Also, I tried to listen the fm thorough spkear (inserting an earphone) as soon as I unplug the earphone and try to listen the music player the volume is very low..

May or maynot be not sure. But you can expect an equaliser app which available in store for asha 311 series devices.Its name is "smart 40". But any how this(501) is new platform and not sure if an app is available.

Asha 311 Vs Asha 501

I'm confused between Asha 311 and Asha 501.
Both are available at roughly the same price.
Asha 311 has 128 mb ram meaning butter smooth UI and lag free experience. It also has many apps most prominent the Whatsapp and also has 3G
Asha 501 has a beautiful swipe UI,good looks and numerous improvements over S40 and most importantly it has a development path going forward.
I'm a little suspicious about buying Asha 501 because it doesn't have whatsapp and there's no news on when or if Whatsapp will be made available for Asha 501 and it has only 64 mb ram so i think UI transitions will be slow and not smooth and the experience will be laggy.

its better to go for 311 because its developd from nokia developer platform 2.0 where as 501 from nokia developer platform 1.0 . So its better to choose 311 and its having more ram and as a result u can run so many apps of different kind without lagging. Click accept as solution if u r satisfied.

Sharing of mp4 files not allowed

Just wondering, if in the near future Adobe CC will allow to share mp4 files, currently our clients ask for the h264 format all the time.
Is there a reazon why the mp4 format is not working with CC?

The official (idiotic) explanation is that video files are frequently used for piracy and Adobe is afraid subscribers to CC will use it to share copyrighted material without permission.

Editing 16:9 mp4 files from .mod ....what easy setup to use?

Hi everybody....I am trying to get started on an edit of some 16:9 mp4 files that I created from .mod files using MPEG Streamclip. I can now import the files into FCP and chose DV NTSC Anamorphic as the easy setup, and am having two problems for starters:
1. The canvas window is showing me the edit as a 4:3 letterbox
2. When I try to render clips, I get the message: "Render Error: Insufficient Disk space. Free up space with render manager and retry?" ....but even if I try to gain space by using that manager there is nothing in the list to remove anyway.... and so I am unable to render clips.
Any suggestions?

#1 - FCP doesn't edit mp4 files. That is not an editing codec. Convert to DV/NTSC using MPEG STREAMCLIP.
#2 - if you drop a clip into the timeline and have to render, that is a BIG CLUE that something is wrong. You should never have to render just a base clip if everything is setup right. That means converting the footage to DV/NTSC, and using the same settings in FCP.
#3 - Where is your media stored? And what type of SCRATCH DISK do you have? do no use your system drive to store footage or render to.

Asha 501 - Radio doesn't have record option.

Hi,
I've 3 queries regading fm/radio/ring tone cutter.
1. It doesn't have the record option, does it need firmlevel updated to have such feature or just sofware..
2. In some models having FM Transmitter, even is this requires a firmware update or sofware..
3. Also, I can't see any app to cut the song file for ringtone..I've seen this app in my asha 206.

Hi,
- Afaik the record option is not available due to legal constraints.
- A "transmitter" cannot be updated with SW. It is a HW component. Asha 501 does not have a FM transmitter, it has a FM receiver.
- In terms of apps we are working to provide as many apps as possible for the new Asha Software Platform - but I cannot provide details on when and if which SW will become available.

hi friends. i am using nokia asha 501. it is good in many respects like speedy scrolling and fast app load time. but still needs more enhancement. Some things i think to be fixed in coming update are as follows. PLEASE DO ADD YOUR REQUIREMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS below.
Compatible with most popular apps like whatsapp and Skype.
Able to play popular video format as flv/qt/3gp/3gpp/avi/mp4 or at least have a player.
Able to use symbian apps.
Video saving options while streaming, eliminating need of video download app.
Support multiple apps to be opened and used at once and ability to switch between them.
Able to play music while on call like that of c5-00.

Asha 501 and a2dp

i recently bought an asha 501 and didn't look too good at the bluetooth specs beforehand. this prooved as a big fault! i saw that it's bluetooth 3.0 so i thought that it has to support a2dp. but i had to learn that i doesn't. why?! even my sony ericsson p990 does supported this and this was like 6 or 7 years ago!
folks from nokia out there pls pls make a software update supporting this! beside that (and some other severe gaps in the software. e. g. no google calendar sync, no contacts sync, no whatsapp) i like this phone very very much! it's simple, fast, small, very user-friendly, fastlane is awsome, it has long battery life, the screen-keyboard is awsome too (much better than the one from android by the way!).
so can i count on a firmware update any time soon?
any answer is appreciated!

I can only guess because that bug could be anything (even the Bluetooth name of your phone could be a problem, something in the profile records, it could be a tiny bit).

Version should not matter either, that is the design of Bluetooth. Furthermore, there are a lot of A2DP 1.0 devices out there, I bet they work with your Volvo.

Well, I guess it is the same, at least my Nokia Asha 503 behaves very much the same as my Nokia Asha 501. Or stated differently: I have not found a difference, yet. Why do you not go for a Lumia?

Asha 501- keyboard apps or multiple keyboards

I'm an Asha 501 user, my fingers are very much large/fat so when ever I try to touch on the screen somtimes it goes to other keywords.
my sister also used the same keyboard and her fingers are tiny, she has no issues in accessing the keyboard. but I've seen other devices in the 3 inch where they have provided the keyboard with much better option like spaces in between the letters are sufficient for me to type without any errors.
If possible try to develop an app for users like me. In some cases the landscape mode helps, but for some apps or interface the landscape mode doesn't activate.....

I do not have any trouble with the Keypad(virtual).... But i prefer ENGILSH PHONE KEYPAD rather than full keypad.
Its pretty easy to type the letters and spacious toooo So just give a try And as far as i know there is no possibility to develop an app that too regarding keypad in this platform. But anyways hope for it

1- i cant make update for the set by wifi
2- i cant make update by nokia suite ( this phone not supported by nokia suite )
i conceit the phone by ( usb and bluetooth )

Asha 501 just started shipping, so there are no phone SW updates available for it yet. The phone supports SW updates via OTA (both over Wi-Fi and mobile data, as you can read from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/new-nokia-asha-software-update)
I believe there should be variants containing Arabic language available already. Could you dial *#0000# in the and tell me the code listed listed in the "product code" field?
