- When I "creat asset". Why I click about "depreciation area", It doesn't appear anything. Although I configured FA.
It notice "Depreciation area difined not in asset"

Depreciation needs to be activated in an asset class to carry the depreciatio values of the aset class.
Check whether any depreciation areas are activated for your asset class in OAYZ. YOu also need to assign a depreciation key and a screen layout in OAYZ.

Hi
Depreciation areas are used for different scenarios for calculating your depreciation. Normally you will have to calculate depreciation like book depreciation, tax depreciation, net worth depreciation, and like. These can be represented in depreciation areas and the depreciation area 01 (book depreciation) posts in real time as you said.

I already have three address books created for me by Thunderbird. I add all new addresses to one of those but am afraid to delete the other address books because some of their addresses are not repeated in my "main" address book. So if I don't delete all the names in one of the existing books, I need to create an empty book that will not mix the addresses with those in another address book. HOW DO I CREATE A NEW, EMPTY ADDRESS BOOK? I want to be able to create various mailing LISTS using the addresses in this new book so I will eventually have a special address book with a variety of mailing lists I can use as I wish.

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

I was able to post correct depreciation for leading and non-leading ledger Depreciation areas with a stated percentage. But the calculation of Tax depreciation area is incorrect.
As per client requirement, Tax depreciation area is setup only reporting purpose and no Depreciation posting.
Required Depreciation Calculation for Tax Depreciation Area:
For Acquires & Additions,
Rule1:
If it is >=180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation as stated percentage. Eg: 10%
Rule2:
If it is <180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation of 50% on stated percentage. Eg: Stated percentage is 10%, then it should be 5%.

Hide Depreciation Area

Hello,
The user requests that one of the depreciation area (Area 02: Tax depreciation on balance sheet values) will be masked.
There are changes that were made on that depreciation area 02 and he doesn't want them to be displayed.
When he open Transaction AW01N - Asset Explorer, he don't want that informations about Dep. Area 02 appears.

don't agree with Deactivation suggestion. I think you want users not to see the value in Dep Area 02 and not deactivate it. If you deactivate then system would not calculate any value.
My suggestion is ask your Basis Person to check in AW01N TCode if he has option for Data Element AFABE (Depreciation Area). If so then you can add Dep Area which you want users to see in this field and Basis then can create a role using this Data Element and assign to respective users.

I run OSX10.6.8. Just dwnlded FF8.1 and everytime I go to open it I am asked about the disk image. But if I delete the dmg, the program won't run.

I just downloaded the 8.1 version. It was a 30+mb file. Previously I ran 4.0. So I drag the new Firefox icon into the Apps folder. It does its merge thing with the old version. Problem is when I click to open FF now, it always throws up this window asking me about the disk image of what I just downloaded. I even tried restarting the computer--but the same message pops up. I checked on your website and it says that I need to "eject" the disk image (i.e. I'm guessing that means the 30+ mb file I just down loaded), so since I don't have an eject option that I can find (except for external harddrives and cd/dvd), I just drug it into the trash. I go to empty the trash and I get a message that that dmg file is "in use" even though FF is completely shut down. So again I'm guessing that means that even though I already merged that dmg file with the old 4.0 version file, if I dump the update file it seems that it's going to mess up the actual revised program file still remaining. I just want to be able to click on the icon in my dock like I've always done and have FF open. I don't want to keep being asked about disk image stuff. Somehow this feels like an easy resolution, but I just can't seem to put my finger on how to resolve it. Thanks for you help.

Nope---didn't work. I've owned Macs for about 12 years so although I am brain dead on some things, I do have a working knowledge on most things. I only say that to say this--I did try holding down the mouse and choosing empty trash. It asks if I want to permanently delete what's in there. I say yes--and then I get the same identical message again-----'The operation can't be completed because the item "Firefox 8.0.1.dmg" is in use I can then click stop, or continue.' So apparently that complains the same way it does if I click it up on the menu :)))
As for item owned by---that's not an issue and isn't coming up. User is not a problem either as I am the only user on this system. There is only ONE file in my trash at the moment at that is this dmg file. Nothing Mac. Nothing owned by anyone other than Firefox. The problem seems to be that the dmg file and the original 4.0 FF file are working in tandem with each other--even though I have already drug the new 8.0 globe into the Apps folder and it updated the FF app with the new stuff. If I could force the dmg file to go away, I would do so, but at every turn the system is telling me it can't be done because it seems to think that dmg file is in use---even though everything is shut down and/or ejected. Hey--I'm getting ready to head out and won't be back till evening. I'll check back in this evening. Thank you again for your help.

Link-Group Asset Class, Depreciation Area & Depreciation Key

I am new to FI-AA Customization & have a basic query about Group Asset Concept.
I am working on Ecc 6.0 & for Country India.
I want to create Group Asset for calculation of Depreciation as per Income Tax Act. Hence there is just one Depreciation Area (for Group Assets) , but the Depreciation keys are different. E.d IN1, IN2 etc. (Country Version India)
Now the questions are :
1) Do we need to create different Asset Class for different Group Assets or to create just 1 Asset Class for all Group Assets.
E.g. I want to calculate Depreciation As per income Tax Act on Gross Block of Building, Furniture & Fixture, Motor Car, Vehicles etc. So I need to create separate Group Asset Class for each one of above or just to create one Group Asset Class.
2) If we need to create just one Asset Class for all Group Assets; how to maintain a Depreciation Key in OAYZ as there are more than 1 Depreciation Keys?
3) is there any other method / functionality to calculate Depreciation as per income Tax Act or Group Asset is the only functionality?

Looking at your Questions let us take explanation for Group Assets :-
1 ) We need to create new different asset class for Group Class in OAOA. Then permit the depreciation area for only Group Asset in OAYM as it is in your current scenario India is Depreciation Area 15 Just select your company code in OAYM and check the Grp Asset field for respective area 15. Then go to OAAX here we have to maintain the assets classes particularly for Group Assets. So check your Group Asset classes for Group Assets. Cerate different Group asset classes for your said requirement.
In these depreciation areas, it is then possible to make an assignment to a group asset. You make this assignment in the specifications for the depreciation area in the asset master record. When you post an acquisition to this kind of asset, the system duplicates the line items from this depreciation area on the given group asset.
2 ) According to me you have to create different depreciation keys for Group Asset classes. Assign the Depreciation keys to your newly created Group Asset Classes in OAYZ and make sure you are deactivating 01 area which is Book Depreciation area.
3 ) As far as I know this is the only functionality available to handle Group Assets. How ever SAP does not have any standard Group Assets functionality. SAP does not supply asset classes to be used solely for group assets. It is we have to determine as per varying Business Process.
I hope this will clear your doubt makes you to understand. Please revert back for further clarification. Welcome you.

Hi, I asked about my WiFi modem? Sorry but I don't understand any of the suggestions given to me. We don't have an Apple Store where I live, the rest of it's over my head. I also don't own a PC. Any other suggestions? What's IPS?

What I want to know is why did my WiFi modem work just fine for a whole week, now it doesn't. I can't get any Internet access if it's connected, if it's not I can't download apps from AppStore,as I have no Internet access. I'm tech literate, I don't understand what an IPS is, I don't know about ports and numbers, and there is no Apple store where I live. So now what am I supposed to do? My mum bought me the **** thing, it cost her $150, and it's worked for a week, and then excuse my French, **** itself! Can someone please help me, and in English please? You asked about IPS. I believe you mean ISP, or your Internet Service Provider.
Since you don't have a computer, you won't be able to change the router settings.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Use of Different Fiscal Year Variant-Statistical Depreciation Area Postings

An existing Company Code in SAP is going to have Fixed Assets implemented. This Company Code is setup just like the others in our SAP instance: Same Chart of Accounts, Same Fiscal Year Variant, Fixed Asset procedures, etc. For purposes of this question our company's Fiscal Year is from August 1st to July 31st. In addition, this Company Code will post Fixed Assets just like the other SAP enabled Company Codes into Book Depreciation Area 01. The company I work with is on ECC 6 but we use the Classic Ledger for Financials, and the Special Ledger is posted to but not really utilized.
For the Country Specific/Tax Reporting purposes within Fixed Asset Accounting we have created a Statistical Depreciation Area 03 (I will call it Tax) with its own Life and Depreciation Key assignments with a setting of 0 in OADB-No Posting in GL for this Fixed Asset go-live, so I think we are set there. The tricky part comes in the reporting. The country in question requires information to be generated on a Calendar Year basis, which is obviously different than the Fiscal Year outlined above. To my knowledge we would have to assign Tax Depreciation Area 03 to the Calendar Fiscal Year Variant: Financial Accounting>>Asset Accounting>>Valuation>>Fiscal Year>>Fiscal Year Variants>>Specify Other Versions on Depreciation Area Level.
The other piece of this is to get the Fixed Asset Reporting for Tax Depreciation Area 03 to work on a Calendar Year basis for the Company Code in question. When I did some research I stumbled upon the link below. In summary it says that you have to manipulate the standard Fixed Assets reports in Excel for Asset Acquisitions and Depreciation, and setup a new Retirement routine/transaction for posting into the Special Depreciation Area.

2) Is the article I posted accurate when it comes to how the reporting works and the need for setting up a Calendar Year specific Asset Retirement Routine? If so, what are the configuration steps for setting up a Calendar Year specific Asset Retirement Routine?
3) Is there anything else that I need to consider for enabling Fixed Assets at an existing Company Code with different Reporting requirements for Book/Tax purposes?

Hello Rio. In our scenario, we still had to load assets in the legal entity with this issue. When we loaded the fixed asset data into SAP we did with data accurate as of December 31, 2011; which for book purposes is 5 months into our company's fiscal year, and for tax purposes is the end of the 2011 calendar year. The calendarized reporting for the tax depreciation will need to be pieced together manually using the SAP recommended methodology of combining report values, which I have pasted below.
Since this is the only SAP-enabled entity that has this scenario right now we are in wait and see mode to see if this sufficient. In the end the SAP path for Dual Calendar was too much of a risk.

Issue in setting up dervived depreciation area

We have created the following depreciation areas in our development system ,
Depreciation Area                           Type      GL                                            Ledger Group
01 : Book depreciation                     Real      Area posts in real time             0L - Leading ledger
02 : Federal                                      Real      Area doesnt post                     -
We want to create a derived depreciation area : 03 ( 01 - 02) but when we are creating that system is not allowing because it is asking for a ledger group to be assigned. ( we have tried with Wizard and without wizard also to setup parallel valuation)
If anyone of you come across this scenarion , please let us know how this was met.

Hi,
do you have more ledger groups then 0L? If not, you can clear the ledger group information in area 01, that doesn´t harm. Then it should be possible to create the derived area without this problem.

Cannot Create a new depreciation area

Hello.
I´m having some trouble creating a new Dep Area. At first when I tryed to create a copy from one on the list (Number 15) it showed me an error that said something like: "Transaction tipe 335 does not exists" (later on I´ve figured out that I also needed to create a trans. type Nº337)
The thing is that i must have created them BOTH wrong beacause then i started to guet this error(s):

Yes I have created tx 335. It´s not working yet. I believe I have mess up with the settings.

Transfer method 1 is specified for depreciation area 30. A retirement transaction type is assigned for retirements, and therefore an acquisition transaction type must be assigned for acquisitions that allows manual entry of proportional values.
Procedure
Check the assigned transaction type.
