"Ask Apple Support" in Contacts link won't accept input...

Trying to get help via Apple Support, but the same screen simply returns after submitting a question. Anyone else having the save problem?

When I go to "Contact" in Apple Support and click "Get Started," there's a Welcome screen that pops up and asks if this is the same or difference issue. When I try to respond (to either) to "get started," the display just comes back to the same Welcome screen. In other words, I can't get Support to accept any input from my computer:

Same thing on both my Mac Mini and old iMac, so I figured it had to be some kind of hangup on Apple's end. Exasperating. On the other hand, I've discovered through another poster that my early '09 Mini (2,1) isn't compatible with Mountain Lion anyway, which is what I was trying to install; so for now the Support access issue is moot. If you have any suggestion about viability of upgrading my Mini, I'd appreciate your insight. Thanks so much for your response.

Why can I not download the latest version of Flash? Keeps asking me for my password but won't accept even though I go through a reset process of a new passwork to ensure it is correct.

What kind of password?  Can you post a screenshot of that prompt?

  • Twice I've asked Apple Support unsuccessfully to send me the link to updating my account profile

I downloaded Skype for WiFi on my iphone. I was asked for username and password and then two categories containing three options were presented for an answer related to security. I didn't connect Skype with having anything to do with Apple details, so I created new information and answered two questions. The App was successfully uploaded.
Subsequently, something popped up on my iMac computer asking me for my Apple ID and password. These two items were accepted, but when I was asked to answer two security questions, my answers were not accepted. After repeated attempts, I was barred for eight hours to use my account, after which time I could ask for my security questions to be updated, etc.  I clicked on the link to Apple for them to send me the link to change my profile details. I did this twice as the first time I did not receive the expected response from Apple i.e. the link to a site where my profile could be updated. Now,  the second attempt has failed to deliver this link, although both attempts I got the message "email sent etc...) So Apple, where is it. Can anyone please shed any light on my query or suggest to whom I should turn to for a response. There doesn't seem to be a direct contact for this type of question. Thanks.

Hi to everyone who are trying to help me with my issue, thank you.
First, I don't remember there being a question to provide a back up email address. If there had been I know I would have given my one and only email addres that I have. I was asked only to select the questions for which I would give memorable answers. Now, when I check my information in "Manage My Account" I see that the info there is correct, except for when I click on Password and Security to see what info is there, what I see are the two questions that I was initially asked answers for. I know that the answsers I give are the correct ones, yet I receive the following message: The Authentication Information provided does not match our records. Please verify your personal information and try again. I tried several more times to answer the questions but continued to receive the same response. Finally, I responded to "Forgot your answers?" and clicked on Send reset security info email to pxxx@btinternet. (To be honest, I've only just now realised that ther address was to my service provider, btinternet.com) Even so, I have never received an answer from this email address allowing me to reset my question/answer.
What also confuses me are the number of other Apple users complaining of much the same issue as I have, except that I thought they were referring to Apple when they mention that they too have not had a reply to their request to reset their question/answer.
For want of knowing where to go to next, I tried a Chat call to Mobile Me hoping that they could help. All they could say was that the link Password and Security in "Manage My Account" was an opportunity to reset the question to the answers, which has confused me even more. Help!

  • It keeps asking for my IMAP password, but won't accept what I enter

I keep getting a message asking for my IMAP password. But when I enter what I think is my password, it does not accept it, and asks again. And again.
    This is new behavior.

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Go to Settings/Mail... and delete the account. Then reconfigure it again with the new information.

  • Changed Apple ID now mobile phone won't accept the password

I changed my Apple ID using my laptop.  I have synched my phone since then, but somehow my phone now won't accept my password.  I'm trying to download an app and it brings up the old apple ID and then says my password was entered incorrectly.  My password is not incorrect and I am able to get into my apple account via my laptop.  What can I do?

On your Phone sign Out of your Account... close All open Apps.. and Perform a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
    Now try it...

  • I can no longer update my Itunes version and I also can't access online or phone support with their new support options because it won't accept my serial number.  What's up? Did support go away?

I've been using Itunes for years with little problem and when one develops, it is quickly resolved. Now, I find myself unable to update my version of Itunes.  it asks me if I wish to update the version, I say yes, and then nothing happens. When I try to go to support, I select the Itunes downloading/synching option and basically, I can't proceed past the point of entering a valid serial number, because I'm not clear on which serial number it wants.  It says hardware, so I supply my PC serial # (I own an ASUS laptop).  I get an error message that this isn't a valid s/n, so I look for one for Itunes and can't find one anywhere.  I try to follow their explanation of how to locate your serial # but it is extremely unclear and unhelpful. So now I'm stuck.  I can't get past first base anymore.  Did Apple come up with a clever way to end their support service without actually admitting it? Or am I just being particularly dense here? Any help is appreciated. Thx

Now, I find myself unable to update my version of Itunes. it asks me if I wish to update the version, I say yes, and then nothing happens.
With that one, I'd try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file, downloaded from the Apple Website:

  • Contact Form won't display input text

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a flash contact form that sends the
user's message on enter key. Therefore I need you to help me do
this and also help me understand why my form isn't displaying right
when I have a mask for it.
To get a better picture of the problem
    here you can
see how the form should look like and
    here you can
see the same form, but with the mask

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "embed the fonts
in each of the text fields"
Please have a look at the .fla file:
    http://www.claudiudesign.org/test/sterg.fla
(this fla has the mask; if you remove it you will be able to
    see the working contact form)
It won't take you more than 1 min to understand what's up
with it if your good at this.
Thing is I'm behind the schedule with this and I have to
solve the problem as soon as possible.
    Thank You

  • ITunes, iPhone 3g 3.0, Gmail Contact Synch Won't Accept Password

    That's it.
Gmail contacts, I can log in and out all day long to gmail.com, so I know my password is correct.
When attempting to configure iTunes 8 to synch my iPhone 3g with gmail contacts, the password and login credentials error, "The Google password or ID was incorrect".
This is the first time I've tried to sync the phone since I got a new computer, if that makes any difference.
    Anyone?
I found a post online that linked to a google captcha unlock, and the unlock succeeded, but didn't change the outcome in iTunes.
I can't use the Exchange ActiveSync method to sync gmail contacts because there's already and Exchange account on the phone (but I don't use it to synch contacts).
    Help!

I think I've figured this out.
Using another PC on a different network, which doesn't have a restrictive firewall, and the synch to Gmail contacts worked...
I didn't think it was a firewall problem, because in the original attempt, I even used Wireshark to sniff the network traffic for the synchronization traffic. I only saw http traffic to the google servers, and that's not restricted...so I must have missed something in the network trace, but my guess is that the firewall (a cisco 5500 series) was blocking the authentication traffic. Perhaps it uses imap or some other protocol besides http or https, which would have been allowed.
I also log all dropped traffic in a syslog, and didn't see any entries corresponding to the synch, but again, I may have missed something.
So, at any rate, it is now working and I'm pretty certain it was the cisco firewall policy that was the problem.

  • Apple mail says pop account won't accept password.

I get this error message periodically and I type in my password and it's fine.  This time I keep getting the error message.  I even went on ATT's site to reset the password on my email account there and it still won't take it; still just getting the error message.

Nevermind, seems to be working now, after typing in the password about 50 times.

  • After hitting "work offline," and then unclicking it, I cannot stay signed in to my google account. Every time I click my bookmarks tab, it asks me to sign in but won't accept the sign in.

There appears to be a double "sign in to access bookmarks" window but only one let's me do the sign in (which then doesn't stick). I've restarted the computer, cleared cookies and clicked on everything else I can think of. I can access my bookmarks through Internet Explorer. Suggestions?

  • MBP won't accept input from keyboard seemingly at random

Recently (the past couple of months) I have been having this weird problem with my 2008 MBP. I will try to input something using the keyboard (type in a URL in the browser, type in my name and password to give my kid extra time on parental controls, type a reply on a message board), and I can't type anything. I hear that little bong, bong at each keypress, like I am doing something wrong, and nothing appears. I will have to close and reopen Firefox (usually works), or just restart my computer.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen? It happens so randomly I haven't been able to guess what might be causing it. Thanks.

This is a bit of a wild guess.  Try a PRAM reset.  It can do no harm.

  • ICal won't accept input

If I try to modify any of my events the app won't let me type inside any input boxes.

I have it set to automatic. I've tried dargging it, I've tried doubble clicking it in Finder. I've tried every way I can think of.
And as I mentioned, other invitations works. And this invitation works for others.

  • Safari: web pages won't accept input

Suddenly, when I load web pages in Safari, I can't input anything. The pages load okay, but I can't actually interact or input data. For example, I can't change my Instant Que in Netflix and I can't input a comment on my facebook page. I can do those things okay in Firefox. Yesterday I disabled Java in both Safari and Firefox to combat the Flashback trojan, (my computer was not infected) but since Firefox still works okay I don't think that would have anything to do with it. Any ideas?

this may or may not help, depends on how you connect to the internet.
I've been having problems with safari not loading some pages and being slow for a couple of days.
so i tried the other browsers and got the same, couldn't connect to the itunes store either.
I connect using a router with a couple of mac's networked, I've being driving myself insane trying to gte things sorted, finally I reset the router, everything is now working.
