Ask to downloada pdf: download progress zero, close, cancel download, re-open ff download finishes!

This was happening before FF 36.01 and also displayed garbaged fonts etc. in viewed pdfs
Now have set all pdf's to use Adobe Reader 9.5 and display is OK.
But the download progress bar does not move from 0.
When I quit FF it says that this will stop download: OK this. No file in directory
Immediately re-start FF and look at download progress: rapidly moves to finish
File now in folder !!!

Although Vista is SP2, I'm way behind on updates (I know !!, but I prefer not to upset a working PC having had bad problems in the past).
Neither of these KB's is installed and the problem only appeared a few weeks ago, not sure when, since I rarely download pdf's.
Since switching all application options named 'Adobe Acrobat...' to 'Use Adobe Reader 9.5' the font problem has disappeared, but the odd download behaviour remains.
I find it puzzling that the download continues on reopening Firefox despite having clicked OK on 'This will cancel download' when exiting the previous session.

About one month ago, i started to receive a message box from firefox, asking if i wanted to save and close tabs, on newly open windows (and pop-ups) without any tabs open on them.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Acrobat Reader 11 closes immediately, won't open pdf's

Just reformatted mioy computer and upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, now I cannot open PDF's - the reader closes immediately - doesn't open the PDF at all. I can't even open Reader XI by itself. I tried uninstalling and rolling back to Reader 10... same result. Uninstalled that and installed verion 9.0. Same result. I have not installed XI again, but still cannot open PDF's. I bought and intalled Office 2013 when I restaged. Nothing else is on my computer yet except Avast antivirus and firewall, skype, IE 10, and google chrome. Any ideas??

I don't think I can access the crash report? Excuse the ignorant questions I'm about to make am a relative tech novice.
Soo - as mentioned every time I open photoshop it crashes - it just says there's an error and the program will shut down and if there's a solution windows will notify me. Then nothing...
I've tried to look in photoshop files for the detailed crash report & the system event viewer but cannot find a file with those names. I've also looked in the windows files for files with those names but cannot find them either - so I don't know where to look.
Any guidance would be great.

So the question is am I doing something wrong? Should I just try and install windows 8 through my windows 7 partition and see if I can use the bootcamp 5.05033. Or do I solely have to use the bootcamp to install Windows 8? I'm not too familiar with bootcamp and how it runs.

if you're using parallels and full bootcamp then you're making it 100% more troublesome for youself then it needs to be
bootcamp is running windows directly on the hardware this give full memory and cpu and 3d video game power
running windows in parallels is running a virtual machine where one can't run powerful games and the like but one can have it in a window and change fast between osx and windows
parallels as the only virutal machine (as far as I know) support not have the operating system as a file on the osx harddisk but can access a bootcamp parition as virtual machine but without the benefits bootcamps provides
it's a service parallels provide for those who want both to play games in normal bootcamp and sometimes use windows in a virutal machine
just install it like a normal virtual machine and you need not worry about bootcamp drivers and the likes
plus it would mean that the windows part would be a part of the timemachine bacup of osx
which it is not when it's in bootcamp

You are downloading the Flash installer, which I think itself downloads another installer, which may again download something else that has to run. Adobe's installer is one of the worst pieces of software on the PLANET.
That said, the problem is that you are not actually running the installer and letting it update Flash. Doing so will force you to quit Safari in the process.
Go look for whatever Adobe downloaded to your Downloads folder and run it.

Folio builder asking to download

When I open indesign the folio builder panel is asking to download. I have downloaded, uninstalled and reinstalled following several suggestions in this forum. Everything in the folio builder panel is greyed out so I can't click on anything to sign in-out or do anything. I have checked and rechecked and I am sure that I have installed in the correct order and restarted indesign. I have restarted indesign clearing preferences. I have signed in and out of acrobat.com and restarted my mac a dozen times. Any one else having this problem?*

is your wifi network 100% open then?
if your router have a default name rather then one you set
then maybe it's trying to connect to another wifi network with the same name
or just another wifi network all together

On a Mac (10.6.4), Firefox asks to download/save any websites with an .asp extension. How do I get these sites to display properly?

Any website that uses the .asp suffix will not open within the browser. Instead, firefox asks to download the website. If I choose to open the .asp file with firefox in the download prompt, I end up in a loop of asking to download/open. The asp websites work fine in Safari.

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.
