  • E60 lost wireless connection to network

my E60 lost wireless connection to network. tried GPS, DUAL, automatic, manual search for network. Same SIM works fine with different phone. Any idea anyone?

    Hi Neil
I'm not familiar with HH (I use a third party router) but it looks as though the HH is set to NOT broadcast the SSID. I'm sure that if you go into the HH settings (the address foe the HH should be 192.168.1.254) you should find somewhere a check box or whatever that allows the router to b'cast the SSID or not. Some would argue that you should not b'cast the SSID but IMHO it makes no difference as the SSID is so easy to discover even if it's not being b'cast.
Just another thought is that you might have to set the wireless connection up as a separate connection to the wired connection. I don't know which OS you are using but if Win 7 then go into 'Network and Sharing centre' and then select 'connect to a network' and take it from there. If not on Win 7 then, if I recall correctly, right click on the networking icon in the system tray and there should be an option to connect to a network.
Hope this helps, if not then I'm sure there are other HH users on this forum who will provide advice.

  • Problems with wireless connection to network

    Dear Macusers,
Since 1 month we have a 15inch 2.5g macbookpro. It works fine connected by wire to the network (UTP). Wireless is works fine at one moment and on the other moment it is slow or often even disconnected. Other laptops (windows) and my IPhone never have this problem so it must be the macbook.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    thanks in advance

If you post your message in the "Internet and Networking the MacBook Pro (Late 2008 and 2009)" you'll most probably get a better answer.
Did you try going right next to the Wireless Router to see if it's still slow?
One other thing you can try is to go to System Preferences, Network, once on the AirPort click the Advanced button, and under Preferred Networks delete the network you connect to, click OK, and try to reconnect and putting the password in again (if you have one).
    Hope this helps.

  • Wireless connection failure

I've just purchased an projet 8610.
When I try to setup the wireless connection, no network is detected. The printer screen gets stuck on finding wireless network screen and eventually hangs on this screen.
I have rebooted router and the wireless network can be seen by all other devices.

Let us try a different way to connect the printer to the wireless network. At this time, have the Ethernet cable connected to the router.
Gather the I.P address the printer has, touch Setup> Network> Ethernet> View Ethernet Settings.
Type the I.P address into the address bar of your web browser and then hit Enter, the Embedded Web Server should load..
Click Network> Wireless (802.11)> Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the steps and see if you are able to connect.
Remove the Ethernet (from the back of the printer) if prompted or when the Wizard is complete.
    If you are unable to connect;
Go back to the Embedded Web Server, click Network> Wireless (802.11)> Advanced.
Type the network name / SSID exactly.
Enter in the WEP or WPA and click apply.
Remove the Ethernet (from the back of the printer) after you click apply
    Let me know the result.

  • Not connected to network although it is connected wirelessly

I have a HP Photosmart 7510 All in one printer. I can print from computers wirelessly but it says not connected to network when i try to use web services, facebook, or efax. I cant even run an update because if no internet connection. i have tried rebooting routers and printer. Nothing else has issues with internet with router. I have also tried typing in the Ip address in the web address bar but when i go to networking it is asking for admin user name and password that i do not know. How can i fix this issue?  I have downloaded drivers and software from HP site also.

    Hi @Sniper187
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you have encountered some difficulties with your Photosmart 7510 printer.
I have included a link to a post by @PrintApper regarding the Printables titled HP Apps Service Retired on several printers.  It has the information regarding the apps on your printer. I have also  included a link to a post by @PrintApper regarding eFax titled eFax users - please read.  It has the information regarding the eFax feature.

  • Wireless Printer keep freezing when trying to connect to network

I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 All In One and it keeps freezing whenever I try to connect it to the network via Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but it asks for me to connect my network through Wireless Setup Wizard which I can't do. Please help me. This is urgent. Can you please try and use layman (simple) terms when replying as my knowledge on printers and laptops are not that great.

Hi @Zo_e178 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to help!
I would recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then recommend this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Why every time i turn my imac on , it asks me to which wireless connection i want to join.

Every time i start my imac, ask me which wireless connection i want to join, and i have only one on preffered. I deleted all others trying to avoid this.
What else i need to do??

have you checked the Network Preference Pane in System Preferences? If you click on Wi-Fi, is the "ask to join new networks" option checked? That is default behavior: unless you do not check that, all Macs will try to find any/all networks available. Youc an turn that off.

  • MBP+WinXP won't connect to network. It sees the wireless network but stops.

I've been fighting this for two solid days.
Time Capsule takes an address automatically from my router/modem. The MacBook Pro connects wirelessly thru Time Capsule to my ethernet network and the internet. No problems.
Windows XP on the same Mac wirelessly sees the network and reports its name. That's where it stops. The Windows "Choose a wireless network" dialog has the network name highlighted and the annotation, "Acquiring network address", presumably from the modem router. Nothing is happening.
What do I do next? All I want to do is join my existing wireless network from Windows. I have never been offered the opportunity to join it... I assume that at some point I will be required to provide the network WPA/2 password but that never happens.
I am totally bamboozled! The old Airport Extreme BS gave exactly the same problem so I have to assume that Windows is the problem. No, I do not know Windows very well.
BTW, Windows connects to the network and the internet okay via ethernet.

    Never mind....
Repeating the same steps over and over I eventually found Windows asking for a network key. I don't have any idea where to get that key, so I provided my wireless network password. That worked. And the MBP+WindowsXP did in fact connect to the internet and my network. Problem solved.
I dare not interfere with anything now because if I mess it up again... I have no idea how I got Windows to ask for the password after sitting there for many many hours stating it simply needed a network address. IT DID NOT NEED A NETWORK ADDRESS — IT NEEDED MY PASSWORD!
I'll never understand Windows. It uses different terminology for everyday items and functions; it's system of step by step support guides suggests moves that don't agree with the Windows dialogs or anything that appears on the desktop.
For me Windows is about the most confusing, hated thing on the planet.

  • MacBook loses wireless connection when iPod touch connects to network

    hi
ever since upgrading to 10.5.5. on my MacBook i've had the "intermittent network connection" problems that have been described and discussed (without any real solution from what i can see) in another thread.
PROBLEM: every couple of minutes my MacBook loses connectivity to the network - the AirPort icon still says that i'm connected, albeit with one less bar than before, but i can't connect to anywhere, not even to the wireless router - and to re-establish a connection i need to switch off AirPort, switch it back on, it will then reconnect, and after two minutes or so i have to do it all over again because the network connection drops again.
NOVEL OBSERVATION 1: reinstalling the 10.5.5. combo system updater helped somewhat. i used to get an error in system.log about there being too many state transitions on the wireless network and about network traffic reduction measures being taken to overcome this problem, but after reinstalling the 10.5.5. combo system updater this message never appears in the logs and I get kicked off only sometimes (see what i say in point 2 below)
NOVEL OBSERVATION 2: now my MacBook will only lose its connection to the net if i switch on my iPod Touch and switch its wireless interface on. in fact, the only way to avoid the MacBook getting constantly disconnected is to make sure that the wireless interface on the Touch is switched off in the Touch's system preferences; if I just sleep the Touch (top button) without switching off its wireless network interface first in its System Preferences, then the MacBook will keep disconnecting even while the Touch is in sleep mode (presumably the Touch keeps polling the network or something, even while it's in sleep mode).
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 1: I have another wireless device (my Nokia E51, which has wifi capabilities) and if I connect it to the wireless interface then the MacBook's connection isn't dropped - i.e. the MacBook only loses its wireless connection when my iPod Touch connects to the wireless network.
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 2: I have upgraded my wireless router (before I had a Linksys WRT-54GC, now I have a Netgear WGR614v9) but that has made no difference.
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 3: I have also tried altering the router's settings (i have played around a_lot with this, trying every combination I could think of - e.g. staple down particular devices to particular ip addresses, use only 802.11g versus automatic b/g, etc) but that has made no difference either.
    RANT:
The only thing that prevents these disconnections from occurring is to keep the iPod Touch's wireless switched off, which ***** because if I'm in the kitchen I can't have it switched on to monitor my email (yes, I've no life, i hang around waiting for emails), or if I go have a lie down and want to check out stuff on the net, or to browse the iTunes music store or whatever, then I know that my connecting my iPod Touch the computer will be disconnected.
This obviously *****, right? And a lot of people are having wireless problems with their MacBooks, right? And these problems seem to have been around for over a year, right?
So why hasn't Apple solved this problem yet? Or am I just being melodramatic?
Your thoughts on any or all of the above, or flames if that's your preferred method of communicating, are invited. =)
    Cheers
    dr.colekat

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

  • I got a new wireless connection for my mac and cannot figure out how to delete the last connection service I had. Everytime I shut the computer, the network goes back to the other one. I cannot find the file ANYWHERE

got a new wireless connection for my mac and cannot figure out how to delete the last connection service I had. Everytime I shut the computer, the network goes back to the other one. I cannot find the file ANYWHERE

Under Network Preferences, select the WiFi
    click on "Advanced..." button
Select the network you want to delete from the list and click on "-"
    Click "Ok"
    Click "Apply"
    Well done ;-)
You may also want to delete the wireless key from Keychain.
Open Keychain, seach for the old wifi network name, slect it and click delete

  • Can i use new TC to connect wirelessly to home network and plug my tv into the time capsule for internet connectivity?

My new tv needs to plug into an ethernet port for internet connectivity.
I'm hoping it can plug into my TC however my TC is wirelessly connected to my current home network... how can i get this to work?
TC version A1470 (i think, brand new)
    Many thanks.
    Ben

If the TC is connected to a wireless network provided by another Apple router, then the TC extends the network by default, and the Ethernet ports are enabled on the TC.
If the TC is connected to a third party network wirelessly, then it must have been setup to "join" the wireless network. When the TC is set up this way, the TC becomes a wireless hard drive and nothing more. The Ethernet ports are not enabled when the TC "joins" a wireless network.
So, a logical first troubleshooting step would be to confirm "how" the TC is currently set up. To do that.....assuming that you are using a current or recent version of AirPort Utility on your Mac.......
    Open AirPort Utility
Click on the TC icon, then click Edit in the smaller window
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the window
Check the setting for Network Mode and report on that

    Hi,
You dont have to fiddle around with the wireless channel and calling your isp and all, i install these every day to my customers, when i get any issues i follow these three methods, one of them works
    HP Printer Wireless Setup
HP Automatic Wireless Configuration or (HP Auto Wireless Connect)  HP printer Wireless Setup, includes Auto Wireless Connect technology that allows connecting the printer to the wireless network automatically without having to connect any cables or enter wireless network settings such as wireless password or id. All new HP printers will have this capability during the software installation process. In some cases computers or the network configurations are compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect. In these cases, an alternate wireless setup method will be offered. To be compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect, the following conditions must be met: Your computer uses Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.5 +. Your computer uses a wireless connection to your network and the operating system is in control of the wireless adapter so that the HP Software can retrieve the computer’s current network settings. Your computer is connected to your 802.11b/g/n wireless router over a 2.4 GHz connection.
NOTE: HP Printers are currently not compatible with 802.11n 5.0 GHz networks.Your computer does not use a static static IP address. Your printer is in HP Auto Wireless Connect mode. The printer will be in this mode for one hour after it is first powered on during installation before it is connected to a network. If your printer has been powered on for more than one hour and the software has not yet tried to connect the printer to your wireless network, you can reset this mode by using the Restore Network Defaults option from the printer control panel. Refer to your printer documentation for how to perform Restore Network Defaults. Other environmental and technical factors may also affect whether HP Auto Wireless Connect is offered.
If HP Auto Wireless Connect is offered during the installation of your printer, it is the recommended setup method. Part of the setup process requires your computer to be temporarily disconnected from your wireless network. During this time you will not have Internet access. Be sure to save any online work and/or downloads before continuing with this setup method. To use this option, install the software for your printer and follow the onscreen instructions. When prompted, select the “Network (Ethernet/Wireless)” connection type and then choose “Yes, send my wireless settings to the printer (recommended)”. That’s it! The HP software will do the rest. If HP Auto Wireless Connect is not offered during the software installation or if it is not successful, you will be guided to use another wireless setup method.WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) – WPS has two modes to connect devices together over a wireless connection. One is called “pushbutton” and the other is called “PIN”. Pushbutton is by far the easiest method. We will describe how to connect using the WPS pushbutton method, but not the PIN method.
For instructions on starting WPS on your printer consult your printer’s manual. However there are some conditions that need to be met in order to use WPS pushbutton mode:
Both your printer and wireless router must support WPS pushbutton mode. Consult your printer and wireless router manuals. The wireless router must have a physical WPS pushbutton available. Your network must use WPA or WPA2 security. Most WPS wireless routers will not connect using the WPS method if WEP or no security is used.  Most WPS wireless routers will not connect using the WPS method if you are using the manufacturer’s default for the network name and no security.
To connect your wireless printer to your wireless router using WPS. Start the WPS pushbutton mode on your printer. For instructions on starting WPS on your printer, consult your printer’s manual. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.HP Printer Wireless Setup – The Wireless Setup WizardThe Wireless Setup Wizard, which you run from the printer’s control panel. Make sure you know your network name and your security password (WEP or WPA). On the printer’s control panel, press the Setup button and then select the Network menu. The Wireless Setup Wizard displays a list of wireless networks in the area. Note:  The Setup button may appear as a wrench icon. There are differences between product models. Select your wireless network’s name from the list. If you don’t see your wireless network listed, you can enter your network name manually by scrolling to the bottom of the list. If you enter the name manually it must be exact, including upper and lower case characters. Enter your WEP key or WPA passphrase. You must enter the key or passphrase exactly, including upper and lower case characters. Your printer should connect to your wireless network. If it does not connect, you are given the opportunity to print a Wireless Network Test report that will help you find out what may be wrong.USB Setup of WirelessUSB setup of wireless – Some HP wireless printers can use this wireless setup method during the printer software installation. During this process you’ll temporarily connect a USB cable between the computer and the printer. It’s important that you connect and disconnect the cable only when prompted by the software, which will guide you through connecting and configuring your printer’s wireless connection. In some cases the software may automatically find your wireless settings for you.To connect your wireless printer to your wireless router using USB setup of wireless, proceed to Installing Printer Software.
