Asking for Apple ID password bought from someone else...

I just bought an Iphone off a mate of mine but they already have an icloud account on there. Each time i go to install an app and music from app store it asks for password of the previous user, is there any way of disabling this so that I can use my account for things??

Settings > iTunes & App Stores
Sign out of the former users's account and sign into your own. Note that if there are any apps or other content left that were purchased by the former owner, it will still prompt you for that user's account for updates. I'd suggest restoring the iPhone to factory settings:

so that you can start completely fresh with your own account, apps, etc.
Regards.

That's because the Mac, OS X and the iLife apps that came preinstalled on the Mac all belong to the previous owner. The previous owner needs to call Apple care and have their Apple ID disassociated from the Mac. Then the hard drive needs to be totally erased and OS X and the iLife apps reinstalled using OS X Recovery.

  • Why is iCloud asking for apple id password? I have started using Last Pass to generate passwords that are more secure. Ideas please?

The iCloud password isn't saved anywhere on your device, this is the way it's supposed to work.

  • How can I be sure the popups asking for my master password come from the Software Security Device ?

I did setup a master password on my Firefox. I therefore have the Software Security Device asking for my master password now and then as a popup, but I have no way to be sure that the popup is coming from the Software Security Device.
How can I be sure that it's not coming from a website or an extension trying to steal my passwords ?

That message will not be from Mozilla, there are rogue sites that use this method to try to get people to install malware/viruses/trojans. Do not install anything from that site.

  • How to stop the ATV asking for Apple ID Password

I just upgraded to 6. Now everytime the ATV boots up (I turn it off at night) it asks for my AppleID password. This never happened under 5.x. I do not rent or buy iTunes stuff from my ATV. I do not want to enter my password because I never had to under 5.x, how can I stop it asking for my password?

In case anyone else gets this I hit cancel once and it has never come back.

  • Why does iOS prompt repeatedly ask for Apple ID password?

    Dear Apple Support Community,
    Device: iPad 4th Generation (64GB WiFi + Cell/LTE)
iOS Version: Latest version at time of publish - 6.1.3 (6.1.4 is iPhone specific)
SITUATION: I am prompted for Apple ID password every time I access App Store or iTunes. Typically, this should only be required to confirm purchase(s) or if password has "timed out" between purchases.
Additional Information: I suspect this is associated with Pre-ordered Movies and Music. This was experienced only after Pre-orders on all versions of iOS 5 and 6.
Thanks in advance for your help, guidance, and coaching a "Technoid."

    Michael,
Thank you for proposing a solution. However, it appears my restrictions are "Off". Your thoughts appreciated.

  • Hi kids, my first day using apple, anyway, is a Power Book 4.1 , bought from someone else, and i dont have the password for the key chain, and no chances of getting it, the screen, for the password keeps on coming up, any ideas?

my  first day using apple, i love it, is a power 4.1, older, but is ok to learn it, however, i bought it from someone , and i was not
given the password for key chain, so, this screen keeps on coming up, and i dont know the password, so i keep on canceling out
of it, ..... any ideas on how to fix this problem, is the key chain, that you can access through utilities, but i dont have the old password, that is my first
    problem
my second problem is that the key board, closer to the screen, is coming out, as it needs to be put in place, you would imagine you can
put it back in place, but, not sure i should mess with it, any input would be greatly appreciated it
    thank you
    lisa

Hi, Lisa. Now I see what you're desperate about.
Does it allow you to go ahead and use the iBook after you cancel the Keychain login? If so, it's not a big deal.
Are you able to go to System Preferences > Accounts and create a new account for yourself? That should eliminate Keychain password problems.
Check out these instructions on replacing the keyboard:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=111917
Maybe they will help you get it seated better. It's considered a customer-installable part, so it should be easy enough for you to handle without worrying about goofing anything up.
What CDs (if any) came with the iBook?
Which version of the operating system is it running?
How big is the hard drive and how much space remains available on it? If it's the original hard drive, it's getting very old and could fail at any time. The identifier "PowerBook 4,1" tells me that the iBook is ten years old, and is either a 500 or 600 MHz PowerPC G3 (Dual USB) iBook. As such, you can't expect a whole lot from it.
The optical drive on this iBook could be a CD-ROM (reads CDs only), CD-RW (reads and writes CDs; no DVD capability), DVD (reads CDs and DVDs), or Combo (reads and writes CDs; reads DVDs) drive.
    Good luck with it.

  • How can I stop my iphone 5 from asking for Apple ID Password constantly?

I've had this problem ongoing for awhile now and it's starting to drive me nuts.
A few months back I was using an app where you could purchase in-game points which would come through your apple ID. I purchased the points and they never arrived, but it's like my phone is constantly now trying to buy the points over and over. Randomly even when the app is closed I'll be asked for my Apple ID password, even if the app is deleted from my phone. If I enter my password it'll go away for a little while and then try again later. So I figure it is just continually trying to make the purchase and fails each time.
I've contacted the support for the app and they never reply to any support email questions, I've looked around online and similar problems seem to be fixed by people looking at pending downloads sitting in itunes on their PC, but there is nothing pending at all. I've changed my Apple ID password. I've made sure it was synced with my phone, I've cleared it from my phone and re set it up again ... nothing seems to work.I even reset my phone entirely and it continues to ask .. it's like the problem is linked more with my apple ID rather than the phone itself. But I'm out of ideas of how to stop it.
    Any suggestions? It's incredibly frustrating!

Turn the account off in settings.

  • IPhone 6Plus on every reboot after putting in my password it opens to a small window asking for apple id password

everything works on phone and wow it's big compared to my iPhone 5s. went with space grey since i have had 3 white phones in a row. restored via iCloud backup. updated iTunes as i have about 3,000 songs. 250 bought the rest ripped to AAC from my cc's....what a pain but switched from my windows desktop to this new rMBP late 2013 for xmas and iTunes is slightly different on a mac than windows and where everything is stored on drive.
anyhow problem is every time i reboot after putting in my password and arriving at whatever page i left at i get a very small window asking for my Apple id password. Now the top half is pre filled in with the email address i use for iCloud/itunes/apple/etc.
i did see in settings there is a checkmark i cannot remove that says for apple password "ask immediately" there are no other choices. it can't be unchecked by any method i found.
    any help appreciated.

In case anyone else gets this I hit cancel once and it has never come back.

  • Asking for apple ID password constantly & Crashing apps

    iOS 8.2, 6 Plus 64g
Since the 8.2 update, I have had issues with apps crashing pretty consistently, including Safari.  Also, I am being prompted to enter my apple ID password about 30 times a day.  It happens at random times, unlocking the phone, surfing Safari, etc.  It's just asking for password, and not even finger print ID.  I live about two hours from the nearest city & Apple Store, so I would like to avoid a Genius Bar appt if able to.
I can do the obviously and set up as a new device, but I would like to avoid that if there is a simple fix.
I am also having the problems everyone else is with cell service being terrible, unable to connect Bluetooth, and WiFi problems.  I am constantly having to reset my network settings.  Apple - Please give us a new update that actually fixes these issues soon!  Any help would be appreciated!

I'm afraid, setting it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards, is the only way to make sure that this is not software related.
Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.
If it is working after that, restore from the latest backup again. If not, contact Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it checked.

  • ICloud asks for Apple ID password for old email account

My iPod Touch 5 keeps asking me for my iCloud Apple ID password for my former mail address. I have tried entering every possibility I can think of (not exactly sure of my old password) so that I might go in and fix or delete it but it still pops up. I have no access to this old address as the account no longer exists and I am no longer with the provider. My current Apple ID shows up fine when I log in to check it and shows no sign of the old address. Any thoughts?
    Running version 8.1.2

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • Email keeps asking for Apple ID password

Every time I use my email on my iphone5 it asks for my Apple ID password. How do I fix this?

    Hello Kves13,
Removing and readding the affected e-mail account (likely your iCloud e-mail) should help prevent this dialog from appearing.

  • Constantly asking for Apple ID password?

Is anyone else's iPhone only, not my iPod touch, is constantly asking for you to enter your Apple ID password besides when downloading an app?  If so, did you find something that helped?  PLEASE HELP!  It's only been 2 or 3 days, I believe  I have not changed any settings, at least purposefully, so I'm unsure why it started at of a sudden.

I had the same problem, and was able to pin-point one of my app called "LINE" by Naver was causing this issue. So for those of you who have this same issue and also have LINE, here is the solution from LINE support, which resolved my issue.
[1] Please update your LINE app from here:
    https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/line/id443904275?mt=8
(If you have already got the most recent version please follow the steps below.)
[2] Please try the following steps:
    1) Tap your iPhone [Settings]
    2) Tap [Store] (On iOS6 this will be shown as [ iTunes Store/App Store]
    3) Tap the box that starts with [Apple ID: ] at the bottom
    4) Tap [Sign Out]
    5) Start up LINE without signing in again and tap [More] on LINE’s main menu.
    6) Tap [Settings] > [Stickers] > Purchase History]
    7) Tap [Restore Sticker Purchases]
    6) When required, enter your Apple ID and password at the pop-up window and tap [OK]
** Don't worry about lossing stickers that you purchased, I completed above process and all the purcahsed stickers are still there **

  • Hard restart iphone 4 asks for apple ID password

i normally sometimes do what is called hard restart for my iphone 4 (hold down the home button and the sleep button till the phone shuts down and the apple sign appears and te restarts) and the phone used to restart normally and asks for the lock screen code and when i enter it i access the phone.
for the past couple of days, when i do a hard restart, as soon as i enter the lock screen code and the phone unlocks, i get the small pop up window with my apple ID asking me to enter the apple ID password. and i enter the password and everything is normal.
i am jsut wondering, why does it ask for the apple ID password now upon doing a hard restart, when it didn't used to do so?

    mira_ishak wrote:

WHO calls this a hard restart?  Apple doesn't.
The process you decribed is actually called a "reset" by Apple.  Not a "hard" reset, not a "soft" reset, and certainly not a "hard restart".  Simply a "reset".
