Asking for iCloud Password

I'm being asked for my iCloud password when I'm in Mail on on my iPhone 4S.  I've been trying to fill in my Apple ID password, but it's not correct.  Are there different passwords for an Apple ID and iCloud.  If so, where can I go to get my iCloud password?  I'm not interested in changing my Apple ID password, and that's the only thing I can find.  Thank you in advance!

Ipad mini on Power on asks for iCloud password

    To clarify this issue:
I do have a different (few years old) Apple ID and created new iCloud ID when I purchased this iPad mini. My passwords for Apple ID and iCloud are different. Ipad asks for Apple ID whenever I want to purches any new App or music what seams to be correct.
iCloud Photo Stream works fine on PC as well as on iPad.
After Power on my iPad mini I have a popup asking for iCloud password. Regardles if I  enter my pass or just click "Cancel" it goes away and everything including iCloud and iCloud email works fine. When there is no WiFi available It cannot verify entered password anyway and is keep asking until I click Cancel.
Process of pressing and holding Home button and Power button didn't change asking for password.
I went to Settings->iCloud->Delete Account and deleted it opting for remove and merge and leter I Signed to iCloud again. No change..
I chatted with Apple and they suggested to reset WiFi somewhere in Settings->General----..
This solved the problem for few hours. What I mean when I tried Power off and then Power on again while chatting with Apple the iPad didn't ask for password. After an hour or so it asked again and now is keep asking for iCloud password on power on again although not every time. It has nothing to do with WiFi because it did the same while I was connected to a few different WiFis or not connected at all. Since entering the iCloud password or Cancel does not make any difference until I power it off it means there is a bug somewhere in the Apple's software.
I do not have many Apps installed and in a mean time I removed King Photo because it was failing sometimes.
I'll chat with Apple again as soon as I have at least one hour free time during work hours.

  • My ipad mini is not usable because it constantly asks for iCloud password. It also will not connect to network. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My son's ipad mini has become not usable because it asks for constantly asks for iCloud password. It says that it is not the correct password and the screen reappears. I know the password is correct because I can login to the website via another PC.
Part of the issue is that it appears not be connected to the network. It appears to be trying to then gets interuptted by the iCloud password request.
I tried to restore from iTunes when connected to PC, however, it says it cannot do this because Find My Phone has been activated on the ipad. To deactiviate I need to turn it off on the ipad which required my iCloud password (seems I am in a catch 22).
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
    Thanks.

Hopefully this will me get you back up.

  • IOs 8.1 Mail app keeps asking for iCloud password

Since the update to iOs 8.1 i have a problem with my mailbox.
Every time i want to create a new mail, it asks me for my iCloud password.
This happens on my iPhone (6) and iPad (Air) while im in my iCloud inbox, Gmail inbox, or just the general overview.
Whenever i press the create new mail icon it will ask for my iCloud password.
    - When i give the iCloud password (correct one) it wont ask for it again in the next 15 mins
    - When i dont give the iCloud password (cancel) i can just send mails but it will ask for the password whenever i create a new mail.
    What i did:
    - Remove iCloud account > reboot > Add iCloud account > didnt solve the problem
    - Remove Keychain  > didnt solve the problem
    - Remove iCloud photo's > didnt solve the problem
    - Remove iCloud mail > still asks for the iCloud password.
    - Remove iCloud > solves the problem but i dont want to remove iCloud
    - Disabled all iCloud options, (mail, contacts, etc) > didnt solve the problem
    - Disabled 2 step verification > didnt solve the problem
Everytime i want to create a new mail, u see the phone/pad use the "syncing icon" 3x 5 seconds, maybe a link here?
Anyone else with any ideas that i can try?

That's interesting that it didn't start to happen after a while on your work iPad. I just tried my iPad this evening and I'm getting the same iCloud password popup message when I try to create a new mail or enable "Contacts Only' in Airdrop.
I still think it's a problem with our iCloud accounts. Some flag in the system isn't set or something for some reason. I don't even have mail switched on in my iCloud account so there is no valid reason why Mail.app would try and authenticate to iCloud just because we create a new email.
Signing out of iCloud fixes the issue for me (not that it's a valid long term solution) so that points the finger directly at a setting on my server side iCloud account I think.

  • IPhone Continually Asking For iCloud Password

I've recently updated to iOS 8.1 on iPhone 5s.  Since then it asks for my iCloud password every time I unlock the phone.
I have entered the password for my account in the settings area for iCloud and it has verified there.  But still asks me.
I have keychain access turned on on the iPhone in settings.  When I turned this off it stopped asking for the password.
    Why is this?

This is not fixed by turning off keychain.
iphone still continuously prompts for password for my iCloud account.

  • IMessage Constantly Asking for iCloud Password - Mavericks

Hi, I've been having issues for quite some time now with my iMessage on my MacBook 2010.  I started having issues with Mountain Lion where I was unable to sign in.  After updating to Mavericks upon release I ran into issues where iMessage constantly asks me for my iCloud password.  I honestly just quit using the program because it was so frustrating.  I've decided to give it another shot and have scoured these fourms.  I have deleted all associated passwords in Keychain Access, checked my Disk Utility for any repairs that might be necessary, signed out of my iMessage account in the program and signed back in only find that my phone number is no longer associated with iMessages on my MacBook.  I'm very frustrated that a core component of the OS simply won't work and I've tried everything that I can find on the support community forums.  If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
That was me, sorry for the confusion.
It is Preferences > First Aid Tab...
If the only account in the Messages App that is supposed to be active is the iMessages one then the Status item in the Message Menu means nothing.
This only refers to Accounts that have Buddy Lists (and therefore a Status according to the Servers they connect to, the exception being the Bonjour account)
An Apple ID can be an iCloud ID.
Obviously the password is the same.
Is this the Apple ID you use for iCloud ?
If it is try turning Off the iCloud Keychain for now in the System Preferences > iCloud.

  • Do apps need to ask for iCloud password?

This might be a dumb question... But I installed a note-taking app from the Mac App Store, which saves all your notes in icloud. And when I installed it, it asked for my icloud password. This is the same password that I use to buy stuff in the AppStore.
I am assuming that it is okay, because you obviously need to give it access to icloud if it's trying I save stuff in it, but it am naturally a bit paranoid... So is it normal for apps to do this? Would you enter your password in those circumstances?

App Store products are reviewed by Apple, and in theory if an app was stealing your password and sending it to the developer, that would be picked up. In practice, there's no guarantee that the review process is adequate, and a few security breaches have been reported.

  • IPad keeps asking for iCloud password

    Hello,
My iPad mini has gone a bit crazy. All of a sudden it started asking me to sign into iCloud by entering my Apple ID password. It is not allowing me to proceed to the normal home screen past the iCloud prompt. When I push the 'Cancel' button, the iCloud sign-in prompt just reappears straight away.
I don't use iCloud and I don't wish to sign in but this prompt is not letting me use my iPad unless I sign in. It worked perfectly fine before without this iCloud nonsense.
How do I get rid of the prompt? I need to fix this a.s.a.p. as I need to use my iPad tomorrow on a flight.
    Thank you

Since you aren't using iCloud, I assume it's just a software glitch, so try resetting your iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I bought a new iPad and want to sync to my iCloud.   We'll I updated my Apple ID and password as we'll.  however it won't allow me to sign in to the cloud because it still brings up the old Apple ID and asks for a password.

I have purchased a new iPad.  I am trying to sync my music and apps.  I also updated my Apple ID and password.  So when I go to sync my old Apple ID pops up asking for a password but I have already changed the info.  So the new password does not work.  How do I get the new iPad to recognize the the updated info so I can sign in to my iCloud account?

On your iPad, delete the existing account then sign back in with the new ID and password.

  • Hi. How can I delete my icloud account on my iPhone? I don't have that email address I was using anymore. I tried deleting it but it is asking for the password and I don't remember it.

Hi, How can I delete my icloud account on my iphone? I don't have that email address I was using before anymore and I already tried deleting the account but it is asking for the password and I don't remember it.

    Hi ale.vica,
You need to go to Manage your Apple ID, https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/, and sign in with your current Apple ID and password and do the following:
    1.     Edit your current Apple ID and change it back to the ID which is displaying for your iCloud account. You do not need to verify it - this is only a temporary change
    2.     Go into Settings>iCloud on your device and delete the iCloud account. Use your current password when your are prompted for a password
    3.     Once the old iCloud account is deleted, go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your ID back to the current one
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your current ID and password
That should take care of your issue!
    Cheers,

  • I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • I changed my Apple ID (other email address and password) and now I can not login to my account in the iPhone iCloud. When I open the tab iCloud displayed my old Apple ID (it was in the iCloud) and asks for a password, but neither the old nor the new passw

I changed my Apple ID (other email address and password) and now I can not login to my account in the iPhone iCloud. When I open the tab iCloud displayed my old Apple ID (it was in the iCloud) and asks for a password, but neither the old nor the new password does not match. What to do?

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information.  Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

  • I changed my apple id and password online, next time i turned on my computer icloud pops up asking for a password with my old apple id.  i enter my password and it doesnt work, how do i change my iCloud id to my updated apple id?

I changed my apple id and password online.  The next time I turned on my computer, iCloud popped up asking for a password, but displaying my old apple id.  I tried signing in, but I think because it is my old apple id listed it doesnt let me.  Anyone have any idea how I can update the iCloud apple id and password to reflect that of my apple id?

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
