I can't turn off icloud- it is always asking for my keychain password- what is that???? I just want it gone!!! It is my school computer and it is constantly popping up when I am using my display during class - I teach high school - it is maddening!

Actually, no it doesn't. You can email a photo with Gamil via any Mail client and/or web browser.

Preferences ->
Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

I'm getting this same problem. It seems random when it asks for the password, maybe every 3 or 4 days it'll ask when I plug it in at night. I've tried restoring from an older backup, which has not resolved the issue.

I cannot get my sons iPod touch to unlock. He has forgot his password and I have not synced his iPod to my new computer. I put it in recovery mode but it is still asking for his password. Any idea what to do next???

How do i stop Mail asking for Keychain password?

I have my Keychain set up with a password.
I'd like to allow Mail access to the relevant parts of the Keychain WITHOUT needing me to enter my password all the time.
How do I do it?
So far I've gone into Keychain Access, found my mail (IMAP & SMTP) passwords and added Mail to the list of applications to always grant access to, but it's still asking for my password.
Could it be due to my @me.com email? If so, what do I need to grant access to as I can't see any specific IMAP/SMTP me.com passwords.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

Constantly Asked for Keychain Password

I am being constantly asked for my keychain password whenever opening an application that accesses it. I don't know why the permission needs to be given each time. What can I do?
This is really part two of a problem I mentioned earlier (the first part has been taken care of).

There was no "Admin" keychain, but yes I am logged in as the admin. There were, for some reason, two "System keychains." I went into my matthewmcvickar/Library/Keychains folder and deleted login.keychain (huh?) and matthewmcvickar.keychain (the old one) and the extra System keychain disappeared. Then I deleted this latest keychain and created another one.
Still being asked for the password... the password I created for this one is the same as the current password for my account (the admin account).
What's the problem?

i open safari, it asks for a password. I open almost anything and it asks for a keychain password, and i put the password i use to login to my username and it says it is wrong. I want this off, i dont want this coming up, so how do i go along doing this, especially without the password?

I'm not entirely sure this will work if your keychain is already locked, but try this:
* Log in as the user who is having the issues
* Open up System Preferences -> Accounts
* Make sure the user under "My Account" is highlighted
* Enter a new Password (you'll have to enter your currenty password first).
Note: this does not have to be a different password, you can use the exact same password you are using now, but you must re-enter it.
* Re-enter your password in the Verify field.
* Click on the Show All Button or any other button to get System Preferences to save your changes.
At this point a pop-up menu should show up telling you your keychain password has been reset. You may have to log out and back in again, but you shouldn't be getting the keychain pop errors any more.
Alternatively if you don't have anything important in your keychain you can always delete your keychain and it's preferences, of course then you'll lose all the information that's stored there.

How do I stop the system always asking for keychain password?

Each time I try to get my mail in Entourage, I'm asked for my 'keychain x' keychain password. How can I switch this off?
I have opened keychain access and manually unlocked the 'keychain x' keychain, and checked that it's not set to auto-lock afterwards, and yet this still keeps occurring.
I notice that under the 'login' keychain, only two of my mail accounts appear, when I have four. Could this be the problem? (Though it does seem to refer to 'keychain x' and not 'login' keychain). If so how do I add the others?

How to get mac to stop asking for keychain password

I recently reset my keychain password but did not create a new one. Every time I open any application, like Safari for example, I am asked to enter my keychain password. I don't have one so I hit cancel. The box disappears, but 2.5 seconds later it reappears! I then have to keep clicking cancel as the box continues to reappear. Please somebody help! Cloud keeps asking for keychain password !

imac is an early 2008 model, now with max memory(4gb) and now running Yosemite O/S.
The machine keeps asking for the keychain access password to open Cloud (spelt cloudd this morning !). We put the password in and it is accepted. A few minutes later when opening some other file, can be any, then the password request is repeated. It is the same if the iMac is not used for any period and goes into sleep mode, password wanted on re-use.
I assume that somewhere there is a setting that needs tweaking ? Where and what please ?
Hope this makes sense. Wasn't sure if asking in iMac section was the correct place or if it is a O/S query.

Mail Asking for Keychain Password Randomly for Years

Apple Mail has been randomly asking me to type in my keychain password for one single email account for seriously 10 years.
How the **** can I turn this off, forever, and ever, so I never have to see the god **** thing again!?
It is on a Gmail account setup through Apple Mail.
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE I AM RUNNING:
2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
OS 10.6.7

The server is sometimes falsely rejecting your login. That happens occasionally with many mail servers. When it does, Mail assumes that the password saved in your Keychain is wrong, even though it isn't, and you get the prompt.
One thing you can do is to cancel out of the prompt. That will cause the account to be taken offline. Later you can take it back online (Mail > Mailbox > Take all accounts online) and try again. Usually it will work on the second try.
You may also be able to reduce the frequency of login failures by changing to a different authentication method. I don't use Gmail, so I can't tell you what the best method is. If you have another Gmail account that works better than this one, compare their Advanced settings in Mail preferences. If not, you'll just have to do some research or contact Gmail tech support (if there is any.)
