Asking for password for keychain access, but won't accept my password... What's up with this?

Restarted my MacBook just now and it's got a continuous stream of pop ups asking for password for keychain access, won't accept my password, won't go away (cancel), any suggestions.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Keychain Access on your Mac. I found a couple of articles I suggest for the issue you described.
Your keychain uses your the same password as your login password. If it is not accepting that password, I recommend running the Keychain First Aid using the steps in this article:

If you are still repeatedly seeing a prompt to enter your Keychain Access password, you may need to reset your keychain. This will create a new keychain so any saved passwords on the old keychain will not be available, and you will need to enter them when accessing sites for the first time again. Follow the steps in the article below to create a new keychain:

Also, I cannot connect to my Photosmart b209a printer, though a different computer - same Macbook Pro can. I tried redownloading the software, but in the setup I get a "device not reachable" message: "However to continue configuring the device in network, your Mac must have access to the device. So please make sure that your Mac has access to the Network ..." I've checked my network on the system preferences and it's properly connected. I'm on the net as I do this. Tis very frustrating, and any assistance woud be appreciated.

Airport Utility is for administration of genuine Apple Base Stations. If you have a different Brand, Airport Utility can do nothing for you.
I think they're using ethernet.
To connect a Printer via Ethernet, no password is needed.
We already tried the password for the internet and that did not work...
If a password is required to connect to the Internet, then WiFi is likley being used, and that WiFi password is the one needed for the Printer connect wirelessly as well.
What make&model Printer? Is it indeed a Wireless Printer? Most connect via USB, but that would force it to use a specific computer to assist in printing.

my mac seems to accept my administrator's password when i log in . but refused it when i tried to install a new program, also as i tried to update other apps .

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I have been having this problem for the last week. I have tried signing on at my home wifi, with the correct password. The site shows up in systems, i type the password, and the menu for "enter the password for...." comes on screen. The phone also won't hook up at work, to a public wifi outlet, and for that matter the wifi site doesn't even come up. What other info can I give to get an answer?

I have tried to intall firebox 8 several but windows vista is causing problem with password.I am administrator but it does accept the password when I try to install it i have changed the password but the problem remains.Please help

You can not setup a new iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device (Mac or iPhone/iPad) to create the account, then sign into it using your PC.

My 4S keeps asking for my account password, it has my id but won't accept my password, I tried to create a new account but I keep getting "This Apple ID has not yet been used in Game Center.....nothing seems to allow me to enter.

Try start a game with Game Center feature and create a account this way.

Apple uses the postal service for delivery of some items but won't allow entry of a PO box. This presents a problem when the post office is in a town where they don't do street address deliveries. I can find no place to submit this problem except here.

I've just placed an order for a 13" Macbook Pro and a superdrive, both to be shipped to a business street address. The cart shows the computer being delivered by "standard shipping" but the superdrive by the Postal Service--but at this address the PO doesn't do street delivery. If Apple would when this kind of delivery is specified allow the entry of a PO box it would solve the problem. An option to enter this info could be presented on the screen when appropriate and it would be very simple to do. I hope this suggestion gets to the right people--I could find no way to submit it on the Apple site and even here I've had to choose a product as a community when something like "Apple Shipping systems" would have been better. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has encountered this problem.

Apple folks would be monitoring this and perhaps tell me a better way or pass the info on.

Setup won't accept my password. Help?

I am trying to install Elements 13 on my Mac. I get a box that says setup want to make changes. type your password to allow. It won't accept my password although this password works for everything else with Adobe.

Hi I am having problems with my mail on my MacBook. It is asking for enter password for account, I put my assword in then it comes saying"the MobileMe imap server "mail.mac.com" rejected it"? Any ideas as this has never happened before?!?

Launch the Mail app.
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then click the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Select your MMe account on the left then type in your password.
If that didn't help, open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities
Select Password on the left.
Use the search field top right corner of that window to locate your MMe keychain.
Then right or control click the keychain, then click Delete.
Go back to the Account Information tab in Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
Type in the password. Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.
