Asks me to connect ipad to computer to download new apps, unable on wifi?
everytime i try and download new apps when connected via wifi, it asks me to connect ipad to computer, can't seem to download new apps straight to ipad?
Not sure how this setting works, but do you have restrictions enabled on your iPad? I don't make use of the setting so I'm not sure if you would see that message in the App Store when you try to download.
Go to your home screen, tap settings, go to general and check restrictions and see if you do have it enabled. If you use a passcode with your IPad you may have restrictions set up. But like I said, I really don't know how restrictions work with reference to what messages you would get on your iPad.

Can you sync music?
Have you synced apps from this computer/iTunes library before? You an only sync app from the one syncing computer you can have.
Are the apps compatible with your model iPod/iOS
Do you have restrictions set that would prevent installation of those apps?

When I connect ipad to computer, itunes does not show ipad on left side of page. winzip appears and says need pro version. i have apple id, etc. and have dowmloaded music to ipad previously. What do I need to do to get it to recognize ipad?
Did you set the iPad up on a Mac? I set mine up on windows and my Mac wouldn't read it so I started over. Just a thought though, not sure if that's your problem.

Apple doesn't take trade-ins. You can a use a number of sites that take trade-ins or just give you cash for your device. One site is:

There are others out there. Just Google "ipad trade-in"
Your other option is selling your old iPad yourself.
In any case, before you sell the device, follow the directions here to allow it to be used by the buyer as a new device.

I have been trying to update apps on my phone and get the same message. However, I am
able to download new apps with no problem. I am able to update the apps on my computer.
When I synch the phone to the computer, it doesn't update the apps on my phone - I still get
the same message. Help!!! So annoying,Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying -
So i went and updated my iPhone 4S via the settings option from the phone, next thing it asked me to connect to iTunes, i've downloaded the new ios but i've been trying for almost 5 hours, countless problems occur, waiting for iPhone, stuck at verifying, error 0xE0000xx and so on, i've tried changing cables and redownloading iTunes, nothing seems to work. I've just updated my iPad to iOS 7.02 and I'm not able now to download new apps nor update the version of the existing ones. All of them are "waiting"... for ever.Even, when trying to download a new app, a "dratf" icon appears on the ipad, not the app's own icon...
I've tried to switch off and on the iPad, disconnect and reconnect the itunes id... and nothing works. Even deleting an app, to download it again, doesn't work. It even doesn't ask for my password!!! (Stays with the small square with a circle around, the one that gets "bolder" while downloading... but it doesn't get bolder now. Just stay...).
Any suggestions? I wouldn't like to reset the iPad, since I've got data in some apps that I wouldn't like lo loose...
By the way, I can not either delete some apps with thos "draft" icons... even when the alert that appears when trying to do that is shown and select "ok".

Thank you, Once_was_lost, but it doesn't work either. I tried it yesterday as an option (I think you're referring to the options of those apps in the settings app).
The problems are still here... I've been able to update some apps using the PC itunes (connecting the app to it), but all the other apps are still "wating", and I have two new strange things:
* I cannnot remove the apps that are downloading (at least those that are supposed to be downolading ) . But I could remove one from the PC... and now there is an "empty line" in the "to update apps list".
* Stranger: though I cannot download new apps or music from the store, I can do in-app purchases!!! In that case, I'm asked for the password and the item downloads. How is it possible?????
I can download with the same user in the PC, in the iPhone... but not in the iPad .

My iPad Air won't download any apps or app updates.
Okay, so my iPad Air has not been downloading any apps, when I tap update it brings the download icon up but does nothing. I stop it then start it again and the loading icon just spins constantly. It's sorta the same thing when I download an app or anything else. my wifi is fine and I can connect to the internet with safari or any of my apps, I even tried it from a friends network and it did the same thing.
A List of things I have tried:
1. Turn off/on IPad
2. Reset iPad, (holding lock and home for 15 seconds)
3. Reset network settings
4. Reset all settings
5. updated iPad to iOS 8.1.2
6. signed out of iTunes threw settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple id> sign out, then restarted the iPad and signed back in
7. Downloading things from a different and working wifi connection
none of that has fixed it, I seriously do not want to back up and restore if at all possible because 1 it's such a hassle and 2 I have such bad luck with backups, last time I did a backup and restored from it I lost the app data for 5 of my apps 3 of them being games I loved playing (infinity blade 3, gangster vegas, modern combat 4) because no matter what I did or how many times I restored from the backup those apps would not sync over to the iPad. I had read something that I should check the Downloads tab in the ITunes store to make sure there were no downloads stuck preventing other things from downloading, but recently I noticed the download tab is no longer an option on my bar in iTunes and no icon for it in edit. same with my iPhone 6. (why would Apple remove something like that?) I searched every inch of the iTunes store and even in view your apple ID i can't find the download queue anywhere.
Am I overlooking the download queue? Did they remove it from iOS 8? Anything else I can try besides restoring? X.x this has been going on for to long now and I just got a Jot Touch for my iPad and wanted to download some apps i could use it with but I can't because of this, I'm also missing out on holiday stuff and new games :/ If anyone can help me with this I would love you forever.Yeah, I know I can restore it, but I might as well go ahead and try. I just finished a backup for icloud and itunes to make sure, I'll go ahead and restore it and set it up as new and see how that works. Seems like I have no other options at this point, I'd still like to know what they did with the Download tab in itunes store, if they removed it or if I'm just overlooking it.

After updating to IOS 7.0.2 in my Ipad mini I cannot update my apps nor download new apps . It says "cannot connect to ITunes. " it's been almost 3 wks now. I have tried resetting it and trying other options like changing the DNS to just 8.8.8 etc but to no avail. I try to run the IOS diagnostics but it couldn't verify my ticket number. Everytime I open my mail it cannot identify server identity " Apple.imap.yahoo.com." But I just clicked "continue" anyway so I could get my mail.

Since updating my iPad and iPhone to the new software iOS6, my wifi has not been working properly I'm either getting a very week signal or the signal is dropping completely. Has anyone noticed this?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
Try This - Renew IP Address:
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I just updated my iPad to the new ios and now it won't let me use iCloud. I have been in my settings and it says I need to agree to the new t&c's but when I click to do it my device freezes. Any Idea what I can do as I can't download new app either
Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch. -

Only with iOS5 or later you can update/upgrade directly from the iPod/iPhone.
When your version of iOS is lower than 5, you must connect to iTunes and then update.
It is best when you update iTunes to the latest version first.
