    Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

    I have just bought my wife a brand new iPhone 32Gb 3S for Christmas & now it's the most expensive paperweight I own. My wife has also just bought me a brand new 16Gb Nano, which also now comes up with error messages when connected, saying that it faild to load and I need to disconnect it & reconnect it. Naturally, this does not work either.
    I'm running Windows 7 & the current 64 bit version of iTunes, but no matter what I do, the above error message comes up.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, very carefully following the exact process & order as detailed by apple, with no luck.
    Everywhere I look, there seems to be references to a piece of software that should exist on my computer; "Apple Mobile Device Application Support", yet this is not to be found anywhere.
    I have spent over 2 hours on the phone with the Apple techies, with no results whatsoever.
    Can ANYONE assist me as I'm going completely bonkers & am about to storm into the Apple store and demand my money back?

    The MSCONFIG workaround requires I-tunes and I-phone code to be installed on the machine. The problem is that I-tunes will not install on XP 64-bit machines. It will install on Vista but NOT XP. MSCONFIG requires the user to allow code that can't be on the machine until it's been installed! Apple staff have confirmed this to me over the phone after I spent half a day trying to figure it out.

    There are also a couple of 3rd party I-pod readers which, if I name them, will probably get me kicked off the list. Why the f*ck can't Apple sort this out. XP 64 bit has been around for FIVE YEARS!!!

  • Even though I have a 64 bit version of iTunes, whenever I connect my iPhone it asks me to install 64 bit version of iTunes

    I reinstalled itunes 10.5.3 64 bit version on my Windows 7. When I connect my iPhone it gives me a error message of incorrect version and to uninstall and reinstall with 64 bit version. I have tried this over and over again but this message is not going. 
    I am not able to connect my iPhones 3GS (32GB) with my laptop. Please help!

    I'm not sure if the error message is related but smart friend was using my computer started deleting Quicktime & Safari and told me that they shouldn't be on my computer as they are not windows product & I can't use them on my laptop. With trepidation but acknowledging I don't know any of the stuff they were talking about, I allowed them to raid my laptop thinking it could be for the best. Now I'm not sure if it is related or not but depsite me having the most recent Itunes updates on both my Ipod 4TH GT, I am getting the following message everytime I connect my Ipod to the computer...and the timing would be about right too:

    If it helps I am running the 10.7.0.21 on the Sony Vaio & remember checking last week I do have the latest update on the Ipod but it is a different version from the Itunes on the laptop (which may be normal, I wouldn't know) but as I am away from home & Wifi I can't tell u the version on that though.

    This "smart friend" really sounds like a collosal moron.
    Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  to remove and reinstall all Apple products on your computer.
    Once you get everything working, the next time your "smart friend" wants to touch your computer, tell them firmly NOT A CHANCE IN ****! 
    None of your data (media, podcasts, apps) will be affected by removing and reinstalling iTunes.

Now it's saying that the required software isn't installed. Hmm, could it be referring to Apple Mobile Device Support? That is supposed to be installed with when iTunes gets installed right?   • ITunes on XP 64 bit ... Can I Run a 32-bit Version?

    I understand that there is no supported version of iTunes that will run on XP 64-bit, but I followed a hack that I found and got it running on my XP 64-bit machine at work. The problem is that I am now getting an error message that says something about "Can't save library, not enough memory" or something like that. I have 6GBs of RAM and almost 200GB of space open on my HD. Is this a common error using a hacked version of iTunes? Is it possible to install and run a 32-bit version on a machine running XP 64-bit? I have both 32 and 64-bit versions of Photoshop and they both run fine.
    I also have Service Pack 2.

    Here's what one user said to to to get iTunes to run in Vista/XP 64 bit.
    Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
    Type “cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64″
    Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    If you don’t do Run as Administrator, the regsvr32 will fail. Also, be careful to run the command in SysWOW64, not System32! System32 on a 64-bit system actually contains the 64-bit system libraries.
    No guarantees, but it might be worth a try. You may find alternative workarounds if you search this forum for "XP 64". None of the workarounds I've seen have been completely functional, so an upgrade to a newer version of Windows is probably something to consider.

    Which Office 365 Home Premium editions did you install? 32bit or 64bit? Office 2013 doesn’t support running side-by-side installations of 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Office. For example, you can’t install Office 2010 32-bit side-by-side with Visio
    2013 64-bit. This applies to both Windows Installer (MSI) and Click-to-Run installations of Office 2013. If you try to do this, you'll receive the error message and be prevented from continuing:

    First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
    Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
    I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
    Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

    I have tried a number of times to install the update and have failed getting the same message as you. Tried with the 32 bit instead & no luck.     I have seen others post this same question but the answers provided does not resolve my problem. My iPad Air is running iOS 7.1.2. I have been using this same computer for three years. It has Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1,  64-bit Operating System, Intel 3.4GHZ computer and 16.0 GB .  I used this same computer with my iPad2 for several years. I purchased an iPad Air a year ago. I never had a problem with either iPad using iTunes. About a week ago, my computer would no longer recognize the iPad Air. I thought it must be a driver problem or iTunes somehow became corrupted. I uninstalled all of the Apple products except for iCloud and deleted any Apple software left in my Program Files and Program Files (x86). I then downloaded from Apple, iTunes64Setup.exe which is a 110,833 KB program. I installed the program without a problem. It installed Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support and iTunes. These programs I had previously uninstalled. I then brought up iTunes.  I now plugged in my iPad Air and a popup message appeared "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes". OK, I did as instructed. I used the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then ran iTunes64Setup.exe. I brought up iTunes and got the same message. "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is nt installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes"  In general, I have found the Apple software to be robust and reliable. This situation however is very disappointing. I am hoping that someone has an answer that I can use to resolve my problem.

    The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.
    In your case I suggest you start with a clean download of the setup file using the direct link. If reinstalling AMDS alone doesn't work try tearing everything down again.

    Hi all, The Actual time bar for the elapsed activity duration in Gantt chart is not appearing. The same is true for all the activities i.e. activities which are not yet confirmed and activities which are partially confirmed. Is there any customizing
