Aspell dictionaries listed but ignored

I have installed CocoAspell (http://cocoaspell.leuski.net/) to be able to use spell-checking of languages not supported by Apple, such as Catalan.
CocoAspell works quite nicely with some applications such as TextMate but Mail fails miserably with CocoAspell:
If I choose an Aspell dictionary for a particular message this dictionary is not used, yet the previous Apple dictionary is used. Only if I restart Mail the Aspell dictionary is used. And then, if coming back to an Apple dictionary (yes I do write messages in different languages, I need this tool) no corrections are made. Until, again, I restart Mail. Not very helpful.
This is a very limiting aspect of Mail. Has anyone found a reproducible way of using dictionaries of languages not supported by Apple? Why Apple does not integrate those dictionaries, actually? They are open source.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Hi all,
How do I determine what type of document I need to create when inputting raw data and information? The last three years, my kids teacher’s have asked me to compile lists of students in a particular grade. I’ve muddled through each year using a database format. This is not easy to change information, i.e. adding/deleting a student or creating a contact list based on a project.
I’m technically proficient using Appleworks (I read the instructions) but don’t know how to start a project based on my needs. How do you determine if a spread sheet would be better than a database?
This topic pointed out to me how ignorant I am of Appleworks and all the bells and whistles I’m not using to make life easier.

One good place to start might be the sample databases supplied with AppleWorks.
Teacher Address, found in the Templates tab of Starting Points is probably the closest to what you need.
Adding or deleting a student (from the database) can be done by simply deleting the record. If you want to keep the name on the list, but don't want it included in a list of 'current students', add a code for "moved" or "deleted" to the data in one of the fields. In the DB I made for my classes, which contained students from more than one class, I handled the removals by adding an X in front of the teacher's surname (eg. for a student who moved out of Mrs. Smith's class, the Teacher name would be changed to "XSmith".) Searching (shift-command-F) the records for an X in the Teacher name field, and checking the Omit box on the search page makes the DB display only current students, without having to actually remove them from the DB itself.
For contact lists based on a project, add a 'Group' field to the DB. This could be a Popup field with Group 1, Group 2, Group3, etc. as the items, or a set of Radio Buttons with similar labels. Selecting on a particular group would give a contact list for that group only; Sorting the DB on the 'Group' field would give a contact list with all the names in each group listed together. Adding a Subsummary when sorted by...'Group' part to the Layout for the contact list, and clicking Page break after summary would place each group list on a separate page, useful for group supervisors on activities like field trips.
Other templates to look at are "Caterer Address" and "Event Tracker", both of which contain some ideas that can be modified for your purposes.
Also take a look at the Address List Assistant in the Assistants tab of Starting Points. Three looks actually—have the Assistant create a Personal, Business, and Student version, accepting the default values each time through.

I purchased a ringtone and downloaded to my iPhone. I subsequently synched my iPhone with my Macbook and I can now no longer access this ringtone. When I attach my iPhone to my Mac, and iTunes opens, I can see the tone but it's now in grey text unlike the other tones in black text. It also has a little indicator next to it on the left but I can't tell what it is. I can't access the ringtone on the phone and it no longer shows up in my purchased items. I refused to download and pay for it again, so hoping there is someway to recover it or activate it as it seems like it may still be there but just not accessible.

I called Apple tech support. The device turns out to be a WiFi extender. I never would have guessed that the extender would show up on the list since I wouldn't think of it as an airplay device, and in the list, it shows a little speaker icon. In the process of talking with Apple, I gained a greater understanding of how airplay works.
It turns out that there is no stored list of devices in a file on the mac, or anywhere else. I have seen a lot of traffic on the web from people trying to modify this list, but there isn't one. iTunes, and other devices simply poll the network for airplay devices from time to time.

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
Below is a summary of the issue:
After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
    "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
    "Unable to retrieve all data."
    The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
Other Observations   -
This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
It should not be related to lookup,datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
I am sharing my finding.
1. First install the
KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

Have you tried running Verify and/or Repair Disk?
Have you tried running Repair Permissions?
Do you have at least 15% free space available on your HD?

I have huge lag with Safari's Reading List using a rMBP. I have probably 80 articles saved, which is likely the cause of the lag. Is there any way to export that list of articles so as to be able to delete them from Reading List but still have a record?

I'm currently dealing with this issue myself, except that my rMBP has NO articles in the reading list. It's a brand new rMBP too, purchased just this week, with the 2.6 Ghz Processor & 16GB of RAM.

I cannot download photos from my digital camera to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to successfully do this up to 4 days ago but not yesterday. My camera/device is recognized in the Source List but photos won't download for me to import to library.

I cannot download photos from my digital camera (via a cable) to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to do this successfully up til 4 days ago but not yesterday (Dec. 25th). My camera/device is recognized in the Source List, but when it tries to download the photos, all I get are the words "Loading Photos" in the area where the thumbnail pictures usually display. The little "gear" symbol next to the words but it just goes round and round. Nothing ever downloads, and instead of showing me how many pictures there are to import it just says "No photos". So therefore I cannot import the photos to my library since they won't even download.
I was getting an error message a few days ago that my Iphoto library was getting full, so I emptied my trash in both Iphoto and on my computer. I had this same problem back in October and emptying the trash and getting rid of some photos did help (can I really be using that much storage space for the pictures?). But it didn't help this time.
Any suggestions as to what to do to solve the problem? I would try taking the SD card out and inserting that into the slot on the computer to see if I could load pictures that way; but the last time I did that, they wouldn't load. Not sure if I lost pics from the disc or not.

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Ok, I had a glitch, forced to restart, and lost my train of thought.
Reinstalling iTunes should fix the major issue that might have gone wrong, perhaps your explaination points will disappear and everything will be peachy again.
But if they don't, you can open the XML file in iTunes Folder using a Text edit program to see what the common pathname is to the iTunes Music folder or where your content is located.
If you moved the itunes folder, it needs to go back.
I can't download iTunes to my Vista virtual machine to test it out right now because iTunes is down, so I can't verify the pathname, perhaps your issue and the iTunes being down are related somehow?
You don't want to import all your music again, but it's a option, but you lose all your playlists, that's what I'm trying to recover.
If oyu don't have a whole lot of playlists, then simply select all the explaimation point music and delete, select File from the menu and import your itunes folder again.
