ASPIRE V3-471G WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE LOCALE AND LANGUAGE SETTINGS

When I first tried to upgrade from Windows 7 Home basic to windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, I got the "Something Happened" message. so I googled the problem and found out that the Language and locale should be compatible with each other. So what I did was go into Windos 7 settings and set the Language, Region, Keyboard to English USA saved the settings as new user then reboot the laptop. I then again checked the settings for uniformity as English USA. Upgrade using the Tool went on smoothly but took 3 hours because of the big download. For everyones information. Further Information here

@MattheusSilva Btw how did you activate windows 10? I thought you first need to download and install the update>get windows 10 activated and then you can get your key so you can do a clean install with a dvd. I can't even get past the install stage so I can get it activated to get my new key.

  • Regional and Language Settings for Window and BEX Style

    Hi All,
When I change the Regional and Language Settings for Windows, Standards and Formats value to English (USA) the standard Style for BEX is active. For instance, input-ready cell is bordered with blue. But when I switch to Turkish this style is not active.
Additionally, I have to change Style for each Workbook one by one. How can we adopt a style to every workbook.
    Regards,

    Lars,
This is a setting on the 'Defaults' tab in the User Profile. This can be set when a new user is set-up in SU01, or it can be changed by each user according to personal preference in SU3. I'm sure there is a system table where these settings are stored that could probably be edited for all users, if that is desired, but I don't know which table that would be off the top of my head.
    Hope this helps...

  • Locale and language

I am having trouble getting locales and languages to work as I would expect them to. I have created a tiny application (I'm a faces newbie still) and a bunch of localization files:
    message.properties
    messages_en.properties
    message_fr.properties
    messages_en_GB.properties
I add all of these languages to the faces-config.xml file setting the en_GB to be the default. When I set my browser to en_GB it picks up the file as I would expect. When I set it to fr I get the french version but I have to restart the server (Tomcat 5.0.18 running under Netbeans) to make it switch over. I would have thought that since the browser is now sending up a different locale faces would just switch automatically to using a different bundle without a restart but it seems to remember some how. This may be due to the incremental redeploy into tomcat but I'm not convinced as the behaviour is unpredictable.
What I am also confused about is the way defaults are dealt with. In the Core JavaServer Faces book it says that the base properties file will be used if a matching language resource can't be found. My observation is that it uses the default specified in the faces-config file. Is this right?
I'm also curious to know what happens when a non-exact match is sent up. For instance which resouce bundle, of the four listed, would be chosen if a browser specified en_US?
    Thanks

I had this problem this week. I guess this is a problem with Netbeans and Tomcat. When Netbeans detects your system language (LANG environment variable in Linux, for instance), its bundled Tomcat "sticks" with this locale and can't change it. If you try to run it with an external Tomcat, it may work.

  • Mobile Sync and Language Settings

Every one in our houshold uses mobile accounts on a few computers. No matter which computer you take, you can login with your server account. These are not network accounts, but mobile accounts with portable home directories (PHD) (so you can take the macbook with you) and they are synchronized with the server. My kids use the Dutch langauge for their OS interface. I manage everyone's preferences for mobility.
I found out the following: if you (for instance) add ~/Music to the skip list for home sync (so it all stays on one system), it turns out it does not work. I have to type that as ~/Muziek (Dutch word for Music). Hence: if a user of mine changes language settings he or she circumvents the managed preferences on this point. I find this completely unexpected. I would have thought that this would have been implemented at the unix level.
Ugh. I can understand the difficulties involved (e.g. translating a regex from one language to another is a no-go), but at least the language setting could have been well integrated with managing settings.
At least I would like to set the language for a user then, so I can control which interface language is used (and adapt the PHD rules accordingly). But I haven't been able to find a setting for that. Probably I have to set it once and after that manage acces too language in System Preferences? Is there a better way?

I always like to back things up to an external hard drive though. Get a western digital external 1tb hard drive for 50 bucks online. Great thing to have. You can store all music and movies on there and free up that space on your computer so it runs smoother

  • HELP! windows 64bit upgrade & rescue and restore option

I recently bought a W510 with Windows 7 Prof 32bit. Then, I used a seperate Windows 7 Prof 64bit to boot from the disc and installed 64bit Windows 7. My questions are,
Is there a way to save an image of my current setting of 64bit Windows at the Q partition?(which strangely have changed its name to D partition after 64bit was installed.)
What is the best way to save the current image if hidden partition can not be used? (I want to be able to format and install my windows every now and then without going through the hassel)
Should I delete Q partition is it is no longer needed? (if it can only restore to 32bit and if I no longer plan to use 32bit?)
Thank you in advance for your reply!

if you plan no longer to use recovery system and 32 bit operation system, you can delete the hidden partition.
as i read somewhere in the forum, you can update hidden partition.
but let me ask you this, after installation 64 bit, hidden partition became visible?

  • Locale and language problem after installation

    hello
on my new laptop i install fresh copy of arch linux, my old installation work over 4 years , but now i chcange laptop and i do new system. So following by official wiki guide i install arch, i install PL language pack, setting locale.gen etc... so now KDE is half polish and half english, also i cant running some application for example User Managment , i cant run krusader (root) all app has install in eng language like firefox, chromium, etc, console is eng language, no polish fonts, i check  everything 4-5 times and looks OK, i read Polish guide some video tutorial and should work but not.. any ideas ?
    thanks

I work with Arabic and Hebrew going over from the keyboard 'command/space' and now with this command I get Spotlight.
You need to set the shortcuts in system prefs/spotlight and system prefs/keyboard and mouse
On my word processor Nisus or Mellel or on TextEdit even if I click on the Hebrew/Arabic icon and also choose the appropriate Hebrew/Arabic font it will only write in English.
That sounds bad. You might try setting up a new user account and see if it works when you are logged in there. If not, I would reinstall the OS.
None of these issues really have anything to do with the mini as such, so it might be better to post in the forums for Tiger:

  • Adding new locale and language support

    Hi there,
is it possible to add a non supported language to OIM Administration Console?
The ideia is to copy one of the existing locale files and change their names, for example:
we copied this two files xlRichClient_es.properties and xlWebAdmin_es.properties and renamed them to:
    xlWebAdmin_es_AR.properties and xlRichClient_es_AR.properties (Argentinian Spanish)
then, at the xlDefaultAdmin.properties file, we just added this new locale: global.locales.es_AR=es|AR.
Once this new locale is recognized, we can now edit the files text to...whatever..
I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear enough, but...does anyone know if this is possible?! It seems so, though...
    thanks a lot!

ok...it is basically like I said...
If anyone needs to add a new language to OIM Administration Console, you just have to find your xlWebApp folder and at ...\xlWebApp\WEB-INF\classes you'll find the files that I was talking about. A pair for each language...(these files are within xlWebApp.war file, they just might have been extracted).
In my case, OIM is only available in Brazilian Portuguese...and I needed to add European Portuguese (the mother language =D).
So, you just need to copy the files xlWebAdmin_whatever.properties and xlRichClient_whatever.properties and rename them to the language you want OIM to automatically recognize (beware of the language code you need!).
Again, in my case, I copied these two files xlWebAdmin_pt_BR.properties and xlRichClient_pt_BR.properties and renamed them to xlWebAdmin_pt.properties and xlRichClient_pt.properties...and voilá, now I just need to edit the content of these files to make the "translation" or whatever changes I may need.
    hope you find this helpful...

  • Upgrading iPod and keeping settings and stars?

    Hi!
My 4G 40GB ipod appears to be on its deathbed.
I have a 40GB 4G and the screen has a dead strip veritically thru the middle. A seperate area later appears on the right side about a pencil eraser wide. After not using for an hour or so, the right sided defect goes back to a hair thick.
After calling iPod and going on the boards, I'm pretty sure that it's a hardware problem and will cost about $200 to fix. As a new 160GB iPod classic costs only about $300, I've decided to buy the new one.
What do I need to do to prepare my iTunes for the new device? Do i have to de authorize any purchased music? Can I call my new 160GB by the same name as my old?
Most importantly, can I keep my stars and playlists?
Advice or referral to the correct FAQ/Guide (I didn't see one) would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

*What do I need to do to prepare my iTunes for the new device? Do i have to de authorize any purchased music?*
You don't need to do anything, it's your computer that is authorised to play your purchases not the iPod. The iPod will load music from an authorised computer and iTunes will transfer the ratings to the iPod. You just need to connect your new iPod. If the songs you had on your previous iPod are still in iTunes they will load onto your new one. Follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like.

  • ITunes 5 and language settings

I've just installed the latest iTunes 5.0.0.35 and even though I downloaded the correct language version (English), when installing it I get iTunes in Swedish. I don't want the Swedish version but somehow I'm stuck with it. I seem to recall that iTunes 4,8 had a language setting in preferences but this seems to be missing in iTunes 5. Any ideas on how to get iTunes 5 to install in English?

You will find this issue discussed in the forum for iTunes for Windows -- nothing to do with the iPod.

  • World clock and language settings

LS, If I have my iPod set to local language (Dutch), the world clock shouws all cities in the US as been in the Netherlands, i.e.: Las Vegas, Netherlands. When the laguange set is English, cities are shown correctly, i.a. Atlanta, US. My S/W version is 1.1.2; anybody any thoughts here? THX.

mh, works fine for me, so I guess it's not a general firmware bug.
you could try to restore your ipod, I think that should help.

  • Regional and Language Settings problems

    Post Author: DanaRaluca
    CA Forum: General
    Hi everybody,
I have to display some information written in Romanian. If I have a static (Romanian) text(Text Object), then everything is OK:
(Here is the text object copied from the Report: dana_test_şŞ_ţŢ)
The problem appears if the text is saved into a database table. In this second situation, some characters(ş,Ş, ţ and Ţ) are displayed incorrectly.
(Here is the database field's value copied from the same Report: dana_test_ªº_Þþ)
If I select the same values from the database (e.g. using SQLTools), then all characters are shown correctly.
    (SQL: SELECT Description FROM TestRo WHERE Article LIKE 'dm_TestRo%';
    Result: dana_test_Şş_Ţţ)
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks in advance,
    DanaRaluca

    Hi Jelena,
The DG4MSQL doesn't support MSQL 2008 without a patch. Go to My Oracle Support and download and apply patch 7623456 for the platform where you are running the gateway.
If you still have problems then either update here again or open a SR using MOS.

    Windows 8.1 upgrade suggestions:
There are some important steps to take prior to doing the upgrade.  Review this MS posted document. Be sure to run the upgrade assistant.
Be sure that Windows 8 has all of the latest MS updates installed. There are prerequisite patches that are required.
Be sure that you have at least 40 GB of hard disk free space.
Back up your data to external media.
Make a Windows 8 recovery media to external media before doing the upgrade.  I prefer to use a third party hard drive imaging program.
    Temporarily disable the antivirus software.
You will need to reinstall your programs after the upgrade so make note of which ones are required.
Check the HP Support site for Window 8.1 updates for your particular PC.  If you don't see any updates then your PC has not been tested/certified with Windows 8.1.

I've been running 64-bit Windows 8 Consumer Preview very nicely for several months and want to upgrade to 64-bit Windows Pro on my Pavilion a1440n. When I've tried to install from within the OS I get weird messages indicating that it can't be installed on a USB Flash drive (which I'm not trying to do). When I tried doing a clean install I got an odd message saying that certain installer files were missing and it would not complete. I called Microsoft customer support and the agent there thought my cpu would work because it wouldn't support Hyper-V, even though I understand that it optional. From running coreinfo.exe I can see that I have the PAE, NX, and SSE2 on the cpu enabled as meets requirements.
When I ran through th HP site I saw that this machine has not been tested. Is there any way of getting confirmation that Windows 8 Pro 64-bit will or won't run on my machine? The HP Product code for it is ER904AA#ABA.
    Thanks!

  • I want to install Windows 7 in bootcamp on my imac with Lion 10.7, but only have a Windows 7 upgrade disk.  I also have a full Vista.  Can I install in bootcamp using the Windows 7 upgrade disk?  If so, what do I need to know about how?

    Hi,
I want to install Windows 7 on my imac in bootcamp.  I have a windows 7 upgrade disk and a full vista disk.  Normally on a PC I would install Vista, then upgrade to Windows 7.  I see that bootcamp 4 only supports Windows 7.
Can I install the Windows 7 upgrade disk without first installing Vista?  Will this work in bootcamp?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Install 7. Don't bother with applying drivers and such, just reboot again from DVD and install again, it will see the existing system and this time activation will be possible.
Vista is mess, takes longer etc. Hope you have SP1 version of 7. And for Vista, only SP2+ are even supported now, by MS.

  • Windows 8 upgrade on Satellite P300 - possible?

I want my P300 upgrade to windows 8. Is this possible, and easy to do ?
    Thank you.

Yes, it is possible to install Win 8 but since the Satellite P300 is not a part of the Win8 supported notebook models, you will not find Win 8 drivers.
You will have to search and collect such drivers at your own hand
So this can be a little bit problem but its definitely possible to use Win 8

  • Vista with Windows 7 upgrade

If I get a Windows 7 upgrade disk and install it over my current Vista, and then upgrade to Lion, what will I have to do if I ever need to reinstall Windows 7 since I will only have it as an upgrade disk? I don't want to buy a full version for the one thing I need it for. Any help is appreciated. Thanx In Advance!!!

    OK, here come the details:
Scenario 1: Vista works, Boot Camp 3.x is running with no issues, and you have SL or Lion on the Mac side.
A reminder: If you already had a Boot Camp Volume, do not repartition it or you will lose data!
If you have Vista and have not yet upgraded to 7, do nothing on the Windows slice of your hard drive at this time.
In Lion, run the Boot Camp Assistant and select the option to make a CD with drivers.  This should fetch Boot Camp 4.0 from Apple's servers.  Quit the Assistant when done burning the disc--we'll use it *after* the upgrade..
    Now, in Windows:
Follow the instructions in this article to prevent the Win 7 installer from crashing  The utility linked there turns off Windows' ability to see the Mac volume.
Make sure you have a valid upgrade edition of 7, which also matches your current Vista's architecture (32 or 64-bit)  Generally, use the same "flavor" of  7 as your Vista is now.  Ultimate trumps all, but few really need it
Insert the 7 upgrade disc, and run Setup from inside Vista.
    Specify an Upgrade install.
Wait patiently while Windows performs the upgrade
Complete the first-run setup and activate Win 7
Get your Boot Camp 4 disc, and insert it to begin the Boot Camp update  Access to the Mac volume should be restored as Boot Camp restarts.
Scenario 2: You can't install Vista first for whatever reason, or you are crossing architectures from 32-bit to 64-bit or the reverse
    Insert your Win 7 upgrade
Restart the Mac with the Win 7 DVD in the DVD drive.  As the tone sounds, hold "C"
Step through Windows Setup and perform a Custom install until you get to the partitioning screen.  Select "Drive options" here.
Select the partition which was set for Boot Camp.  Click Format.
Continue with Setup and load Win 7.  You'll get asked for your product key, but you should skip this entry while setting up the OS--this first install isn't meant to last long, as it will be "upgraded"
Eject the disc via My Computer--the eject key doesn't work yet!
Install Boot Camp 4 as above
Now, run the Setup from inside Win 7.  This time, do an Upgrade as per Scenario 1 above.
    Good luck,
    Nate
