Aspire V3-771G Recovery loop/Broken Screen/External Screen VGA

The problem is 2 things:1: The PC, now loops in "Recovery mode/diagnose-pc"2: Now we can't access BIOS because of External Screen is VGA, but if we close the lid, we will see, only the loop "Recovery..." My friend have used his Laptop with and external HDMI screen for some time, then he noticed that it got more and more virus behaviors, like: acting like its hacked, someone takes over his mouse and so on. So he decided to do Recovery of his pc and then we can make it work in External VGA Mode, but not in HDMI anymore. Reason for not working in HDMI anymore is because of Windows have those drivers maybe? (external mouse and keyboard installed) Tries to start computer on F10 or fn+F10 or F2, (laptop keyboard) and then close the lid.Same on external Keyboard. Anyway suggestion on how to access BIOS with an External VGA screen.Or other suggestions? Zenpotter

zenpotter,
Are you trying to use the internal recovery feature or recovery media that was created? If you haven't looked over this article, please do, it discusses how to utilize the recovery process both internally and externally.

  • Have a broken screen, can I hook up external

Hi guys, I have a broken screen, is there anywhere if I hooked it up with a external screen. Like I tried hooking it up to my tv but basically the tv was a seperate screen in itself and wasn't apple to see the login propt screen. My screen is so bad I can't see hardly anything, just lines ands tuff, any hope here to still use it with a external. Also is it possible to put another computer of the drive of the powerbook. Thanks
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
If you are talking about an iMac, I don't really know much about them. On my PowerBook the F7 key is the mirror key for monitors. You might try that to see if the TV reflects your desktop.
If I understand the last question on your post, you can hook your computer up to another computer with a firewire cable then start yours up while holding down the T key to put it into Target Disk Mode. Your hard drive icon to show up on the other computer.

  • How do I use an external Monitor to access files on my iMac with a broken screen?

I have an 20 inch desktop iMac with a broken screen. It is the files on the computer that I wish to recover, after that, I can be on my merry way. Unfortunately, VileVault was on (Not my choice), and for some reason, when I target the disc image of the broken mac with a new one, ONE of the accounts "appears" to be completely empty. All of the accouts were running FileVault, but only one (mine) failed to be transferred because it is "empty". I refuse to believe that my files are actually all gone, because theoretically there should be nothing wrong with the CPU itself, just the screen.
Thus my goal is to use a monitor on my broken screen iMac and simply log in and access my files normally, and perhaps pull them out with a USB or something. I have a DELL monitor, and a DVI (The big hairy plug with screws I think) converter that works with my old iMac, along with the male/male DVI cord. However, when I hook it up, nothing happens. I have tried booting the old CPU while holding F7, and option as I read on a forum, and neither produced results.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to 1. Get the monitor to simply show what's going on on the mac? or 2. Pull out my files through some other means?
    Thank you.

If you have a second Mac computer, you may want to try to copy over as many files you can. One way is to use target disk mode.

  • Broken screen, not able to log in, need to do system restore

    1. Pavilion dv6500 laptop with broken screen.
    2. Operating system: Vista
3.Error message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded"
    4. Microsoft updates?
I need to know (a) the key stokes required to carry out a system restore to a saved restore point and (b) the key strokes to carry out a hp system recovery without being able to see the screen.
I need this to try to retrieve the data I have on a laptop with a broken screen and vga port. I have been using an HDMI cable to connect it to a monitor but recently, vista stopped allowing me to log into my user account (giving the error above). To fix this I would use safe mode to modify my registry but safe mode does not project through the HDMI port to the external screen.
Therefore, I would like to know (a) the key strokes required to restore to a saved restore point and (b) the key strokes to carry out a hp system recovery without being able to see the screen or use the mouse.
    Thanks.

Simplest solution to retrieve data under those circumstances to me would be to remove your HDD
Plug it into another computer by eSata
Then just copy whatever you wanted onto the other HDD.

  • I need to install the HP drivers on a laptop with a broken screen in order to get VGA port to work.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
Hewlett Packard Model: 2000 2a20ca Notebook
Oh my god please give me some insight here, it is so hard to find the right answers and I refuse to lose to this technical box that's driving me nuts! So here's the run down:
My screen broke on laptop...fine. It was connected via HDMI to TV and working fine. Until one day it decided to not turn on. I think due to Windows updates and hubby had no patience so kept restarting
I tried to reload Windows on it, not thinking about the drivers, and I'm pretty sure I managed to reload Windows. Now I need the drivers to install chipset, networking etc. (which I have a disc for)
The problem is I cannot see the screen in order to click "install", I can't see the BIOS or the boot sequence. Ugh! And even if I could, the drivers are not installed to use the CD ROM or VGA port.
I can HEAR Windows start up and turn on! Doo-DO-Doo-DO lol the darn thing is working!
The monitor works in my other laptop.
Would/Should the VGA monitor work if I could get it to start in safe mode?
I've heard of a program that can streamline the driver's into a Windows installation disc so everything is installed altogether but how can I reinstall Windows if the drivers aren't loaded for the CD ROM?
Is there a way to get the necessary drivers installed? or is this notebook now garbage?

    1.  The model number is the first thing at the top aside from the OS.
    2.  In my explanation it states:  "I have the drivers on a disk"
    Thanks for all your help!
Getting the drivers is not the problem.  Getting the drivers installed on a laptop with a broken screen...is the problem.
Ok, well sometimes you can't use external monitor to see what is happening in some laptops and the only real way to fix this is to fix the broken screen so you can reformat and resinstall the system again. Those are you only options at this point in time.

  • I have a broken screen on my 2008 MacBook, I want to access the hard drive what are my options?

I Have a 2008 MacBook with a broken screen, how can I access the hard drive?

    1. Connect an external monitor. If everything else is working fine on the MacBook, you'll have full access to your computer. Or
    2. If the MacBook has a FireWire port, use Target Disk Mode (http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1661) to mount the HDD and then copy the files to the second Mac. Or
    3. Remove the HDD, put it in a $20 USB caddy, and connect it to another Mac for file-retrieval.

  • CONNECTING DELL MONITOR TO BROKEN SCREEN G4

    Hi
I want to connect a tft monitor to a broken screen G4. Can I do this without being able to use the computer screen to configure the settings.
......I was thinking about a std VGA connection into the mini DVI via an adaptor......but then realized it might not be the 'plug and play' simplicity I had first thought it might be.
Maybe someone has done this and had some success!
    thanks
    Ral

Verify your Powerbook G4 you have is indeed a mini-DVI and not a mini-VGA port Powerbook G4. There were in fact two distinct releases!
Given you posted in the 12" Powerbook G4 forum, note these images:
    the port is a mini-DVI.
    the port labeled "6" is a mini-VGA.
Use the F7 key to toggle to external display.

  • Broken Screen... HELP!      DVI/S-Video

    Hello Apple Friends,
I recently bought a 2nd hand Titanium G4 Powerbook off a guy I know. I had used it before, and knew it to be a good machine. Unfortunately, the warranty has run out, but then the hinges went. I knew they were about to go and just wanted to use it as a desktop. Unfortunately, I moved house and the screen must have been knocked, and now I can not get a picture. I can tell the computer is still working fine, but the screen isn't.
I've been told its a DVI model and I can plug it into an external screen either using a DVI cable or an S-video cable. Although I understand that monitors take VGA cables. Does anyone have any experience or advice concerning this?
    All help welcome.
    Tom

You can obtain displays that use different types of interfaces. Many of the displays distributed by Wintel manufacturers, certainly most cheaper ones, still use VGA, but there are many who are also embracing DVI. Apple, for example, has been using DVI technology for several years; all of the currently shipping Cinema displays are DVI. A 20-inch Cinema display is a great companion to a 15-inch PowerBook (even if it has a broken screen).
Having said that, if you have broken hinges, and the computer was subject to some sort of trauma with that display floating around and not latched, you could have jerked loose the display connectors. If that is what happened, reseating the connectors could possibly fix the video on the internal display.
I'd take the machine to a local Apple service provider or Apple Store. They can verify whether that is the case, and they could also verify that your computer will work with a DVI display (that there is not a bigger video issue of some sort) - I'm sure they'd be more than happy to sell you one, too.

  • IPod 5 stuck in recovery loop after updating to iOS 8

I own a 5th Generation 32GB iPod Touch. The other day, I tried to update it to iOS 8. Shortly after the installation process began, it went into recovery mode. I believe it's in a recovery loop because I tried using tinyumbrella to exit recovery mode, and the screen went black, the Apple logo came up like it was trying to boot up, but instead went right back into recovery mode. Does anyone know any way I can fix this?
Another note, if I can get it out of the loop, I believe I can get it out of recovery mode. So even if you only know how to get it out of the loop, that info would be very appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I do have a backup on iCloud, but it's from about nine months ago. I'd really like to be able to save all those photos and videos I've taken since then. I can get my apps back easily, but there's a lot of data that won't be as easy to get back.

Try the following. I expect you will have to let the battery fully drain.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can the screen from a 20" 2004 be used to replace a broken screen in a 2006?

I have a 2006 iMac G5 with a broken screen (20").  I also have a 2004 G5 with a bad video card.  Can the screen from the 2004 fit into the 2006 as a replacement?

You need to be able to:
    - Read those files from your old machine.
    - Transfer them to the new machine.
Unless you were intending to buy an external drive anyway, you don't need to buy the external drive just to transfer files. As long as your old machine is connected on the same network, you can transfer the files using Network File Sharing from your PC to your Mac.
I would however recommend purchasing the drive to use for backups with your Mac. Time Machine on Mac makes backups a breeze.

  • IPad 3 won't start up (broken screen aswell) and when restoring/updating gives errors 3194 or 4005

Like the title says, I have an iPad 3 from a friend which has a broken screen and won't start up anymore. He is not sure whether it's just the screen or
something else aswell. So I'm able to get it recognized by itunes if I put it in recovery/dfu mode. Then I try restoring it but I get the error 4005 most of the time.
It has nothing to do with the solutions given when I search for error 4005 on google (like hosts file and stuff) because I can easily update my iPhone and my sisters' iPhone. With a program called TinyUmbrella I'm able to get it recognized in iTunes WITHOUT the ipad being in recovery mode, because the program has an option to kick it back out of recovery mode. Then I'm able to access the pictures and delete apps all that stuff in itunes/windows, but I still do not get anything on the screen. So then I tried updating to ios 7 because the iPad was still on ios 6.1.3 but then I get error 3194 which is kinda the same as 4005. Also tried restoring but that gave the same error.
So now i'm unsure whether the iPad would work if I replace the screen, because it seems to function properly when I can kick it out of recovery with TinyUmbrella. But then I thought, even if I did replace the screen, I still wouldn't be able to update the OS or restore? I don't want to waste my money replacing the screen if it won't even work afterwards..
Yes I tried different usb ports, yes I tried different cables, yes I tried the hosts file thing, I don't have an antivirus installed (only 'antivirus' I have is malware bytes, windows firewall is off, tried on a different computer, tried on a mac, ... I don't think this is the reason because my iPhone updates perfectly.
I did notice though that when restoring when the iPad is in recovery that it would say "waiting for ipad" but then my windows pc says "usb device not recognized" , maybe this has something to do with it?
    Solutions please?
    Thanks in advance

A PRRAM reset did the trick.

This Mac mini is a refurbished one, so probably had some old settings from being connected to something different before.

  • Please help. Nano recovery loop

It's a 5th gen nano with the click wheel. It died a few days ago and it would not revive when I connected to iTunes on my PC. I tried it on a mac and it came back and I restored the ipod, and it worked for about half a day after that. Now it goes into the recovery loop on both the mac and the pc. I've updated iTunes on both systems, I changed the drive letter on Windows, I formated the ipod on the mac and on the pc. Still getting the loop. Is this done? Is there any other fix?

I forgot, and when I get to the "waiting for ipod" the ipod's screen goes black and will not come onagain until itunes starts the recovery loop again. If it is unplugged it will not come on. I've tried all the click wheel commands.
