Assamese Language in Windows 8.1 Phones

Dear Microsoft,
Yes there is Bengali language in Windows 8.1 phones. But this Bengali language doesn't allow Assamese language to type. Specially for the difference of
ৰ  and
ৱ.
Bengali language doesn't have
ৰ  and ৱ.
Hence I request to include Assamese language also.
Regards-

You will run into many problems as pagemaker is obsolete. It really only runs under win xp. Some people claim they can get it to run on windows 7, 8 but often run into problems when it comes to printing/pdf creation.
The other problem is that pagemaker will only support the first 255 characters in a font, which severely limits it's usefulness. There was a middle eastern version of pagemaker with special fonts, but I don't think it's still available.
I would look into Indesign, but research the language support before commiting to Indesign, as it may require some additional software, and or workarounds. Post your question in the Indesign forums.

  • Does a multiple language supported Windows Phone 8 Application support Bengali Language (Bangladeshi language)?

    Hello,
I am developing  a Windows Phone 8 application (for Nokia/ Microsoft Lumia) where multiple languages will be supported. Now, it is needed to support Bengali (Bangladeshi language) in my Windows phone 8 application.
But, I didn't find Bengali language in the Setting -> Language -> phone Language. So could anyone tell me that a multiple language supported windows phone 8 application support Bengali language or not. If it is possible, then how user will change
the app language from phone setting?
FYI .. From Microsoft OEM documentation, I have known that Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 includes support for Bangla (Bangladesh language).
    Thanks

    Hi NONAME-2007,
As far as I known the Bangla language is supported as a on-screen keyboard language on the Windows Phone 8. But it is not supported as a display language in Windows Phone 8, so you can not choose this language from the phone setting. For more information,
please try to refer to the following article:

  • Downgrading from windows 8.1 single language to windows 8

Hi, i want to downgrade my laptop pavilion g6 2231tx from windows 8.1 single language to windows 8 which came in default with my laptop.
My question: since my lappy came pre installed with the windows 8 (64bit) and then got upgraded. So if i refresh my pc via the recovery partition on my HDD will it revert back to win 8 or do i have to use the recovery discs i made and will i lose my entire data on C:
Reason :  i am facing a lot of issues with my laptop recently specially while gaming i never faced any issues with gaming earlier when my lappy was running win 8 no lag or drop in fps as such but since i upgraded (which was against my will as microsoft one fine day decided to throw win 8.1 down on my face) . Some how was able to get the amd radeon switchable graphics back up and running but it seems it has no practical use over there  as such
apart from that my computer  has degraded in performance since i have upgraded i tried to use win 8.1 since the past 1 year just coz it had all my programming IDE loaded and removing it would just be all the more hassel but even those applications have started responding really slow now most just take up hell  lot of load time.
    my system specs are :
2.4 GHz Intel Core i3-3110M processor
    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7670M (1 GB DDR3 dedicated)
Looking forward to your early replies. thanks in advance

You might be in for a rough ride regardless of which path you take back to Windows 8.
Standard Refresh removes your installed programs and your installed Browsers -- the security programs -- everything that is not "bare bones" -- and that assumes that it will work.

  • ICloud email no longer working on Window 7.8 Phone

I have been receiving my Apple emails on my Windows 7.8 Phone successfully for the last 2 years. About 3 months ago emails could no longer be sent or received and I typically get the following error codes dependant upon how I have my IMAP/SMTP settings configured; 800c2746 or 80072FA8.
Apple email is working fine from my Android tablet and also from my Windows 7 PC and I've tried replicating these settings on my phone without success. I've googled the problem and tried all the different set up options I can find but not have worked. I'm beyond frustrated now and I suspect Apple has broken something during the recent iCloud work for IOS or Yosemite as nothing has changed on any of my devices and it's only my Windows phone that no longer works.
Does ANYONE have a Windows 7 Phone (mine is a Nokia 800) that is successfully sending and receiving iCloud emails as of today, 2nd November 2014. If you do would you be kind enough to tell me what server settings you are using.
    Thanks.

We have exatcly the same problem with Samsung omnia 7 (Windows phone 7.8).
We are using the Server settings from this page: iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients - Apple Support
We have this problem since mid september and no solution.

  • Help! My Sony Ericsson T715A can no longer connect to my PC (Windows 7) in phone mode...

Sony Ericsson T715A: I can no longer connect in to my PC (Windows 7) in phone mode; so I can no longer sync contax, calendar, tasks etc. with MS Office Outlook. Also cannot back up phone, or
update software. Can only drag files out into Explorer folders. When I connect the phone, it has to be on. Instead of going right to phone/PC mode, I get a message on it saying "Phone functions are
not available in File Manager mode. Continue?" I say yes, whereupon the phone seems to restart, & then the Microsoft Autoplay folder comes up, or else I can find it in "devices and printers." R-
click the icon, "properties" Identifies it only as a generic Microsoft device. I tried running the computer troubleshooter on it, which came up w/nothing.
After some period of time I will notice that the phone either rings and I can answer it, or it has stopped recharging, and the icon has disappeared from the PC.
I had the 2007 version of PC Suite and PC Companion, and when I tried to install it on my 2010 PC w/ Windows 7 it said not compatible. I downloaded an update for that software from the SE site, but it didn't help. Then I ran the compatibility wizard in Windows 7 for PC Suite. Still no luck. I got a tip from an SE forum to uninstall all that software and download a certain package and start fresh. I am about to try that.
        Here is my question:
ALL T HIS TIME I have still been using the OLD SIM card from my SE ZZ710i in the newer phone. I figured it works; why not preserve the newer one from wear & tear as long as poss.
Now, it has been a while since I synched or backed up my phone. I hate to lose everything on it/the SIM card. If I install a whole new version of SE PC Suite, is it going to somehow overwrite or not work at all with my
old SIM card? Must I insert the NEW SIM 1st, & sacrifice whatever data is on the old one, before trying the new desktop software and updateing the phone?
As for updating the phone, which I realize wipes out data, it might be necessary.. I noticed in some Event log or other that some SE-related working file called EMMA was deleted recently, I don't know why. Anyone know anything about that?
      Phew. The End. Here's hoping.

Thanx for answering my Q of a month ago. As you can see from my post of 18 minutes ago, things have gone from bad to worse under my neglectful eye.
    To answer your answer:
    a. I WAS using a NEW USB cord when I posed the question.
    b. I've now downloaded the update service. I can try updating the phone from its File manager state. I'm just afraid whatever data is on it will get wiped, no?
    Point of order:
If I've had an answer - or more than 1- to my question, but I still need to discuss it- should I Check the "Yes my question has been answered" box? I did not, here, because I thought it might result in my further questions dropping off the radar for forum experts. Please advise... \\Butter F

  • Telstra Air App For Windows 8.1 Phone

When will Telstra be providing an Air App for WIndows 8.1 phone?

I, for one, support this request - especially with the universal app situation and the developer tools available to help convert iOS and Android code to Windows, there really shouldn't be much blocking this app being released. By all means say you're not going to write a Windows Phone 8.1 app from scratch, but how about a Windows 10 Mobile universal app? This would run not only on phones, but also 3G/4G enabled Windows tablets. If your developers are not aware of these tools, please get them to take a look at developer.windows.com to be enlightened! Here's a link to the actual iOS and Android 'bridges' that can help migrate an app easily: https://developer.windows.com/en-us/uwp-bridges

  • 'Windows-1252', 'Shift-JIS', etc. code pages are not supported encoding names exception in Windows 8.1 Phone

    Hi,
We have already released our product for WinRT desktop and tablet versions.
Now we are developing the same app for Windows 8.1 Phone.
    We are supporting 'Windows-1250', 'Windows-1251', 'Windows-1252', 'Windows-1253', 'Windows-1254', 'Shift-JIS', 'GB2312' and 'Big5' in both desktop and tablet versions which uses WinRT API's.
But in Windows 8.1 Phone version, i am getting 'ArgumentException' saying 'Windows-1252' is not a supported encoding name.
Please help me with a solution or workaround to support the above specified code pages for Encoding.

  • CreateThread function in windows 8.1 phone Applications

    Hi,
can we use the CreateThread function in Windows 8.1 phone App's?
Windows Phone 8.1: This function is supported for Windows Phone Store apps on Windows Phone 8.1 and later.
Above line from MSDN, I see that it is supported for windows 8.1 and later. Does this mean it can used "without any" difference from the Desktop app's? Old desktop SW can be directly ported keeping this function intact to create the threads?
I'm asking this because, I have read in few (albeit OLD, blogs DOT msdn DOT com/b/shawnhar/archive/2012/03/12/createthread-for-windows-8-metro.aspx?PageIndex=2) blogs that WINRT does not have this and we cannot directly use this call, and port this to either
task based or have some other wrapper function as shown in the link.
    Thanks.

Note that there is a workaround for Windows Store apps.

  • Script to automate the display language on windows server

    Hi,
I'm looking for a script which should change the windows display language from non-english to english (vizversa).
    Here is the scenario:
On windows server 2008 R2 I have two language installed - Japanese and English with the help of MUI packs available on microsoft site. The native language of windows server 2008 R2 is Japanese. Consider there are 10 sys admins only knows
Japanese but not english. Similarly there are 10 sys admins knowing only English. I  being english administrator, i should each time go to regional setting in the control panel and click on change display language to english. After
I finish my task I need to set back the language to japanese(native).
I'm looking for script which can auotmate this process.
    Objective:
The script should automatical change the language to Japanese when I logoff from the system.
Here is the steps to reach "Change Display language" on windows server 2008
Go to control Panel > Category view (on right side top ) > System and Security > Clock ,Language and Region > Under “Regional Language” > Change display
language > Go to Tab “Keyboards and Languages” > Look for the dropdown menu “Choose a display language” and choose the appropriate language you prefer from the dropdown list
Kindly note this menu/option is available for Vista,Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. This option is also available on Windows XP/Server 2000/2003 provided the LIP/MUI is installed.
    Thanks

    Guys,
Forgive me, but I think you are making this far too complicated. Using a script to achieve this is, in my view the wrong tool, and a little dangerous. If your logoff script fails to run for any reason, 11 Japanese sysadmins will be waving Samurai swords
    at you :-).
There is a single Group Policy setting that will do exactly what you want on Vista, W7, W2K8 & R2.
Create a new Group Policy object ("English_interface", for example.
    Edit the new policy object
Drill down to "User Configuration, Policies, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, Regional and Language Options"
Pick the setting "Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user" and Enable it.
Drop down the "Restrict users to the following language" and pick "English"
    Click "OK"
Link your new GPO somewhere in the OU hierarchy that contains the English user
If other (Japanese?) users are also in the same container, you can filter application of the GPO by security group so that the policy can only be read and applied by the English group.
That's all you need to do!
As a point of principle. I ALWAYS install my OS in US English then add languages, and set the locals to use their own language. This is because service packs and hotfixes invariably arrive for US English first, and some hot fixes are NEVER translated.
I'm just doing this for a single W7 build in English, to be deployed in 6 countries, with 7 different languages and 9 different keyboard layouts. Fun...

You can't send SMS or text messages to a non-Apple phone (such as an Android, Windows, or BlackBerry phone), because the messages are sent as iMessage

Yes, you can. I do it many, many times a day. If you're trying to send a message to someone who used to have an iPhone and who didn't disable iMessage before switching phones, they will need to unregister their number with iMessage:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage
You also need to have SMS enabled with your carrier to send messages to non-iPhones.

  • Change Keyboard Language in Windows Login page

Is there someone WHO can help with a solution to a multilanguage Windows 8.1 image i'm testing at the moment.
My problem is in the login window, where i can't find a solution to set the keyboard languge trough GPO or Registry.
I have tried to set the language in the registry:
HKEY_Users\.default\Keyboard LAyout\Preload:  1 = reg_sz to 00000406 (Danish language code), but this does not Work and then i have tried to set the same in S-1-5-18/19 and 20, but nothing helps.
The GPO for setting language inside Windows Works fine, but i really need to also get the login window to use the same language, as someone is using some special charater and they can't find them, when the login window is using United Kingdom keyboard and
    not the local language.
I have search the net for a solution, but the only solution i can find, is to manually go in to the control panel > Region > Administrative > Copy Settings by choosing manually to use the same language with the "Welcome screen and system
    accounts.
There most be someone else in the same situations, where they want this set Automatic, so i can use the multilanguage image around the World?
Really hope someone has the solution to this.... :-)
Additional information is that i have made the image by using DISM to integrate the language pack to both the boot.wim and the install.wim and have set the United kingdom to the default language.

    Hi,
First,it seems that we can customize a image (use the same language with the "Welcome screen and system accounts) to test it.
Meanwhile,I suggest you follow the link to check the result.
