Assemble-to-order with spliting the Production Order

Hello,
I'm new to SAP and we just implemented the SAP System.
My Experince is from one year as Process Owner for PP in our Project.
I have a specific Question regarding the assemble to order process.
So far we did not implemet Capacity Planning in the System, but I would like to use it.
The Idea is the following:
1. There is a sales order coming for 1pc of Product. The scheduling is carried out, ATP-Check and so on. The production order is created and at least the capa is placed on the end of the chain (using quetimes). One Product needs 60min to assemble.
2. more orders are comeing in, all consuming 60min of capa on that day. If the capa is used, move to later date until capa is back again. this also should be now Problem to set as far as I understand what I have learned already
3. What i do not like... If I get orders with too many qty.... I would like to hav a maximum qty. where the order gets splited and moved forward to the next day... so... Customer orders 10, 5 are placed on Tuesday, 5 on wednesday and so on.
Each of those "Splits" should have one production order header.
Any idea how I can reach that?
Thanks, hope I will find a solution
BR Marian

Marian,
Standard ERP Sales order ATP cannot be made to confirm Sales orders based on capacity availability.  All capacity related conflicts and resolutions are done during dispatching, which is a separate step.
If you need SO ATP to consider available capacity while confirming the Sales order, you could use functionality that exists in APO.  Otherwise, in ERP, you are facing custom development.
Assemble to order in general is restrictive as to what types of scheduling can be permitted.  There is no automatic production order splitting in standard SAP ATO.  Some manual manipulation is permitted.  Of course, with custom development, you are only limted by your imagination.

  • Assembly to order: change in sales order with change in Production order

I want to activate change in the sales order data when a production order(which is created w.r.t the sales order) data is changed (Strategy 82 used); I have de-activated "No Update" for the corresponding requirement class 201; also the material for which SO created ,is not a part of any Delivery group.
But when I am changing the production order (date/qty.), SO isn't getting updated accoringly.
Please tell me the reason why it isn't happening!!

    Hi
The sales order requirement can be made as the production order receipt once you save the order in the system.
so it is possible to change the receipt according to the sales order reqmt if any changes made in the sales order,
in every entry or changes in the sales order ( if you use the stategy 82) . in back end system explode the BOM and the create the production order as per the order reqmt,
even while you do the changes mad in the sales and save that time sytem re explode the BOM once again and change the production order qty.
but if you change the production order , system not re run or explode the BOM , Routing . such setting is not made in the system . so obviously updation will not happen for the sales order .

  • In the Production Order, Sales Quotation is displayed not the Sales Order

    Hello to All,
I need a kind help from you.
    My scenario is as follows
There is a Configurable Material (Finished Product)
Sales quotation (VA21/2/3) were made for this material.
Sales Order (VA01/2/3) with reference from the Sales Quotation were made for this same material.
Now when I run the MRP (MD02) for this material, Planned Orders were created.
Planned orders were converted to the Production Order.
In the Production Order (say in Display mode), under the 'General' tab, there is a segment called 'Sales order'. In this segment, the sales order is being displayed if the Production Order is created for a sales order (MTO scenario).
But, in my case, the Sales Quotation number is being displayed instead of the Sales order.
My Issue which need your answers:
Is it a standard SAP scenario?? I mean, if the production order is created for a sales order and again if the sales order is created earlier with reference to a sales quotation, then in the production order, the Sales quotation is displayed. Is it a standard?? Or it is showing wrongly? I mean, is it like that, always the sales order should be displayed in the Production order and not the sales quotation??
Please suggest so that I can overcome this problem, if at all it is a problem.
Some More Inputs (For your analysis/research):
    1. After the MRP run of the material the Planned Order is created. I have checked the planned order, and found tha the assignment of sales document (in this case Quotation) is done in the Planned order itslef. It is visible wthin the "Assigmnet" tab of the Planned Order.
    2. For the analysis purpose, I created one stand-alone Sales Order for the same material. I mean, without reference from any Sales Quotation. Then, when I run the MRP (md02), the Planned Order and then production order were created normally, with reference to the Sales order. This just for your kind information.
    3. I have checked the pegged requirement of the Production order in the MD04. It is showing the Sales order itself. But, if I see the production order (CO02/O03), it shows sales quotation.
    User Requirement:
Evenif, the sales order is created with reference to a Sales Quotation, after MRP run, in the Planned and thereby subsequent production order, the Sales Order should display and not the Sales quotation.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Supriyo

    Hi
Since your scenario is configurable material,  the system takes the reference of sales quotation only. Because the in case of configurable materials the sales quotation is the base and based on the sales quotation the sales order is created and subsequent production order.
This is std SAP and for configurable materials the sales quotation is deciding factor

  • Distributing Price Differences posted with  MIRO to production orders

    Dear guru ,
I know DUV that distribute consumption differences from a physical inventory to production orders.
After the production order consumptions (mvt. Type 261) for these materials we posted the prices differences with MIRO between the purchase order price and the invoice.
Does exist a tool like DUV (or other) in order to distribute these differences in price to the production orders that have consumed these materials ?
    Thanks in advance

To me it looks like the material ledger is the standard tool for doing what you want to do (although it doesn't actually post price differences from purchases to production order but rather distributes them to the receiving materials on the level of the actual price calculation)

  • Deletion of components in the production order

    Dear all,
Our client would like to delete few components issued to production orders by mistake.(these are bulk materials, transferred from legacy system).
These materials are issued to orders already.
The production orders are already confirmed .
Is there any way to delete these items from the production order?.
    regards,
    Kumar.

You can directly delete the component bulk material in  Co02 itself in the componet tab.
Do the where used list in CS15, ANd check whether that BOM material have production order in COOIS, and go to change mode of  the order and delete the component manually.
It is very difficult to delete the component through LSMW, reason is the line item component, for one order it may in line item 10, for  other order it may be in  line item 40.

  • Target Cost not captured in the production order.

    Dear All,
I have created cost estimate for the FG material and moved the standard cost to FG material and created the production order.
In the production order ,I could see the Actaul cost & Plan cost, but the Target cost is ZERO.I have checked the entire and PP & CO settings ,it is OK.
Please let me know that what could be the reason for not capturing the Target Cost.
    Regards
    Subbu

    Hi Subbu
    1. Have you released the cost estimate from CK24 before GR from prod order? Check if field Current price in Costing 2 view is not Zero
    2. If your contr area currency is different than comp code currency, then your costing variant should allow you to release the cost in contr area currency as well.. T code OKKN ("assignments" tab)
    3. Check if target cost version 0 is defined properly and assigned to your contr area
    4. check if variance key is there in your prod order.. you can assign default var key to plant in OKVW
    5. Execute Variance calculation KKS1/2/6

  • Closing the Production Order with status PCNF

    Hi Experts,
May I kindly ask if I can close an order with status Partially confirmed? If not, how can I cancel the confirmation if I had already reversed the goods movement in the confirmation thereby flagging an error of a deficit in the material quantity during cancellation of the confirmation?
I really need your help since I need to close the production orders with this case.
Hoping so much for your replies.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Sincerely,
    Ria

    Ria,
I am not so clear about the exact situation.
When you say you have reversed the goods movement with MIGO, is it reversal of the documents posted with confirmation or the individual documents?
You can only cancle the document with MIGO which are independent of the confirmation.
The  documents which are with the confirmation can not be reversed in any case with MIGO.
I suggets you go this way,
    1. Check why system is giving you error as 'Deficit......'. The one thing I suspect that you must have performed auto GR & moved out the stock of FG from that location.
If it's so then bring back the stock to it's original location & cancel the confirmation.
While cancelling the confirmation where you might have executed goods issue with backflush this error won't arise as the stock will be bring back to storage location form the order.
Don't reverse the cancellation of the of the documents youhave performed with MIGO for independent material posting on the order. Keep it as it is.
This way the cancellation of confirmation & material movement will be done & now cost on the order will be zero.
You can assign the status CLSD as well as DLFL to the order.
    2. In case you find the above activities can not be carried out for some reason then give status TECO to the order.
Sttle the order so that the cost on the order will be zero, then give status CLSD.
As far as possible stick to solution no. 1 only.
Go for solution no. 2 when you don't have any other option.
    Hope this helps you.

  • What to do with the Sales Order once the Production Order is TECO?

    Hi everybody,
What to do after a Production Order is confirmed, GI, GR, and the Production Order is Technically Complete?
In MD04, I can still see the Sales Order, and I can see also the line with CSTOCK (Customer Stock).
What to do now to complete the scenario?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rudy.

    Thank you!
But I get the following message in VL01N:
"No schedule lines due for delivery up to the selected date "
    What does it mean exacly?
I have a Confirmed Production Order.
I have a quantity in CSTOCK.
    So, what is missing here?
    Thanks in advance!

  • MIGO Proposes Quantities even when the Production Order has DLV status

    Hi,
In ECC 6.0 after my last operation has been confirmed with AUTO GR. MIGO proposes the planned Scrap quantity against the Production Order for Goods Receipt. Is there a way to stop this.
Here is the scenario that I am facing this issue.
I have a production order with Qty 103 with 3 QTY as planned Assembly scrap.
At the last operation I do 98 yield, 2 rework and 3 scrap. My Rework Reason Code inserts a rework operation using trigger point in the production order. Now after I confirm Rework Operation when I got MIGO for Goods Receipt it proposes me 5 (i.e. 3 Planned Scrap plus 2 rework).
Is there a way this behavior be stopped.

    Hi Aravind,
I have a suggestion. Instead of having assembled scrap if you follow below way you can overcome from this issue.
To produce 100 quantity, goods should be issued for 103 quantities. You should maintain this in BOM. So during production confirmation, if your yield is 98 then GR will happen only for 98 and you can enter 2 piece as scrap quantity. GR will not happen for scrap quantity. When you confirm the rework operation, system will propose only 2.
Currently we are following this way. Try it out and see.
If you need more information, do reply.

  • How the material PRT issue/receipt to the production order can be handled?

    Hi PP Gurus,
For one of our clients, the handling of PRT is to be controlled with the issue/receipt for the production order.
    1. What is the procedure for issue/receipt of PRT material in the SAP?
    2. What is the procedure to block the PRT for the creation/release of production order when it was already assigned to the other production order during the same time?
    3. The PRT is to be available automatically once the assigned production order operation is confiremd. How it can be handled in the SAP?
    Appreciate your early response.
    Thanks,
    Reddy.

    Hi Ramanujam,
            Thanks for your response.
         1. The dies can be used for the production of Pressing, Casting and Forging etc. These dies will be managed in the stores. The stores representatives will issue the die to the shop floor for an operation of a production order. They will return back the die once the production is completed at that operation using the die. How to map this process in the SAP.
Typically, these dies can be treated as PRT materials in the SAP system.
         2. OPJK configuration is not sufficient. The same PRT will be assigned to the many production orders during the same time. The system won't block with only this setting. There are some other steps involved to complete the process.
I would like to know the complete procedure with all the steps to block the PRT once it was assigned to the production order operation. The same PRT is to be available for other production orders automatically once the operation is confirmed after production.

  • Unable to open the Production Order

    Hi All,
there is a message error while trying to open the Production Order using tcode CO03.  The message is "User AA is currently processiong order 123456".
User AA is already log-off from the system, but still giving the same error message.
    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Logically to display any document it may not resttrict even though same document is using by other user it may only allow yout display rather to change......but also try the below way it may help you.
Just re login in user AAA and select the first radio button "continue with this login and end other login" and then login from your USER ID and try to display the production order through CO03.

  • Open the reservation for the Production order

    Hi,
I have post the GI for Production order MB1A with movement type 261 from 100 peaces components. I would like to cancel a partial quantity of components from this posting (about 30 peaces). After cancel it the reservation for the production order has to be open for 30 peaces of components.
I've canceled it through MB1A and mtype 262 but the reservations weren't open and in the PO (component overview there is always the sign"the Final Issue for This Reservation").
Which T.code and mtype could I use.
    Thanks
    Dede

    Hi,
Have you cancelled the movement (of 30 pieces) by selecting the "with reference" option from the menu?
If not, then reverse the current cancellation document. Then again cancel the 261 movemtn by selecting the with refernce button from the menu. It will sove the problem.
    Check & revert.

    Rohit.

  • Can SAP take scrap into account with determining open production order qty?

SAP appears to completely ignore scrap on production orders.  This isn't working for us.  What we would like is something like this:
If the production order is for 20, we've confirmed scrap of 2, and confirmed 10 good, then the open quantity should be 8.  The next time MRP runs, it should re-schedule the 2 for a later date.
I didn't see any way to accomplish this through settings on the order, or through configuration.  Can anyone recommend a user exit I can use to accomplish this, or did I miss a setting somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
The scrap you are confirming is basically unplanned scrap...That is basically for consuming the components for the scrapped quantity ...but not to affect the total production.
In your case you can maintain assembly scrap in material master...so that system will plan extra material while the MRP..
For ex , if u want toa chieve a final qty of 100 & ur scrapping pattern is 20% ..syatem will plan for 12 % so that u can achieve 100 at the end of production.

  • How to delete the production order in mass?

    Dear Experts
Please tell me how to delete the  old production orders?

    Raja,
CO78 is a one stop transaction for production order setting deletion flag, deletion indicator, archiving and finally deleting.
Generally we schedule the following programs in background in the sequence below,
    1. PPARCHP1 for Setting Deletion Flag
    2. PPARCHP1 for Setting Deletion Indicator (Once set cannot be revoked- so care should be taken in selection of orders)
    3. PPARCHA1 for archiving the production order with Deletion Indicator active. Basis should set the database/storage space for archiving/storing the records.
    4. PPARCHD1 for Deleting the records from SAP database.
